Subject: This "leader " of the country

I am sick to death of his picking and choosing his time to tell us that the "Intel" was flawed...it was not...he got the right Intel...he just chose to manipulate it!!!..He is not gonna get away with it...I have watched too many CIA analysts...and weapons inspectors....on documentaries...say..."It was not flawed intelligence, it was manipulation of intelligence"...and they know what the intel was...and Bush would not pay any attention to anything that did not play right into his plan of attack! I don't know how it will ever come out...but somehow...someday...everyone will know...because somebody like me is going to go screaming mad and let them know! They said, on the 12th of Sept...2001...Rumsfeld said, in the Situation room, "Shouldn't we use this as a means of going after Saddam?" Is that manipulating the intel...or is it not?

Subject: Bush Taking 'Responsibility' for War

Bush's recent mea culpa on the war -- phony as it is -- has to hurt a lot of his true believers, few though they may be now. Most of them still believe there are WMDs hidden somewhere and Saddam and Osama danced a jig together.

Of course this is all a carefully calculated political game to regain some kind of strength before the next elections. Why a president would have to say he takes responsibility for a war is ridiculous on its face -- the president IS responsible at all times for taking the nation to war. But those dry-drunk enablers out there will still make some excuse for this poor excuse for a man.

Of course, Bush did NOT accept real responsibility anyway. He's using the "faulty" intel dodge. You think if he really cared about that he would've fired Tenet rather than giving him the Medal of Honor.

Bush wants the part of America that doesn't think -- you know, his supporters -- to forget that he cherry-picked the most alarming intel from what were known BS sources -- a drunk and pathological liar for the mobile weapons labs and aerial WMD, a tortured prisoner for the Saddam/Al Qaeda connection, and an incredibly amateurish forgery from the Italian intel for the "mushroom cloud." The only "foreign intel agencies" who backed up this crap was Britain, cuz Tony Blair wanted the war, too.

Bush should be tried for treason, and if there was any justice, hanged for his crimes against this country and its soldiers.

But I came to the conclusion a long time ago that a large part of this country is in the grips of a personality cult. They can't let themselves believe they're being taken in again by that "straight-talkin', Christun cowboy" with no soul, no heart, no mind and no shame. Just the b@lls to lie his @ss off continuously. Man, grow the eff up.

Subject: Bush on Torture

If the renunciation of "torture" the President has agreed to employs the definition of torture given in the Bybee memo (the current official definition) then it is meaningless. The Bybee definition is so restrictive that torture as it is more commonly understood fails to qualify as such. Let the President renounce the use of torture as it is defined in the UN Convention Against Torture, WITHOUT the redefinition of key terms (most importantly, "severe") employed in the Bybee memo:

For the purposes of this Convention, the term "torture" means any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing him or a third person, or for any reason based on discrimination of any kind, when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity.

Subject: Bush and His Back-Asswards Plans

Hi BuzzFlash,

Every website needs to add "The Osama Clock" to their Websites and E-mails, just like they track the number of Dead (2,152+), Wounded (15,568+) and Iraq Casualties (30,892+).

Did you know that on December 15, 2005: The Number of Days we have IGNORED OBL is 1,550!!

Who gives a damn, right George, Dick and Media?

After all: "Out of News, Out of Sight."

So let's see.

We have forgotten all about the bastard who Financed and Planned the 9/11 Attack.

We did get the guy who DID NOT have WMD but who did attempt to kill Bush's Daddy.

All while over 2,152++ Soldiers, not of any politician's family, have died to get revenge at Saddam!

And let's see here...

OBL and Saddam hated each other.

Al Qaeda was not in Iraq before the war and now it is.

OBL wanted our Air Bases out of Saudi Arabia (his homeland), which is why he planned and financed the 9/11 attack in the first place, after the 1991 war.

So "W" complied by kissing OBL's Ass and moving the bases out of Saudi Arabia and to none other than Iraq and then taking Saddam down.

And Republicans and FAUX, in their INEPTNESS, are thrilled we let OBL go at Tora Bora and then went to the extreme of kissing Osama Bin Laden's Ass for what he did to us on 9/11/2001!

Way to go Republicans! What Ass-Backwards Thinkers!

Subject: Playing Republican Games

Dear BuzzFlash;

Why are liberals playing the Republicans' games?

Obviously media pundits are paid to spout their corporate masters' message. But why are the people falling for it?

I am sick to death of hearing all these Republican lies, and then hearing people take the bait by arguing with them, or worse, AGREEING, then EXPLAINING why they are correct!

The one that bothers me today is the lie that Democrats have no message.

The Republicans are simply implementing the PNAC revolution. (Read Paul Krugman's "The Great Unraveling.")

The Republican Party has destroyed the environment, the US economy (and others perhaps?), the US Constitution, New Orleans, the US Military, and America's reputation abroad. Among many other things (400-word limit and all).

All that destruction IS THEIR MESSAGE. They have taken every law, every standard and every tradition that has become synonymous with the idea that is 'America' and systematically destroyed everything.

That is the Republican idea: destruction.

That reminds me of that young Republican who was arrested recently for robbing a bank to pay for a gambling debt.

If he discussed the 'idea' with his friends I wonder what 'alternatives' were discussed? Getting a job, borrowing it from relatives, maybe even bankruptcy as a last resort?

Can you imagine the conversation?

Why don't you get a job? It will take too long to get that much money.

Why don't you ask your dad for the money? I don't want him to know about this.

Why don't you file for bankruptcy? What!? I would have to get a job to pay it all back anyways. Can't you guys come up with any ideas?

Obviously, he chose the one that required the least amount of work on his part. (Typical Republican.)

* Back to America's Republican-created mess...

After the Republican Revolution destroyed policies that not only worked, but have stood the test of time, suddenly Americans are supposed to 'voice alternatives'? The ideas that Democrats can claim as their own are the very ones the Republicans claim need 'reforming.'

How's this for an alternative: Stop Destroying America!

Stop breaking the Law!

Stop giving taxpayers’ money to your corporate flunkies in Iraq and fix New Orleans already!

We don't need to 'come up with alternatives'; they need to start explaining why they are so intent on destroying this country.

Subject: The Khaled El-Masri Affair

Thank you, one of yesterday's BuzzFlash Readers, for bringing the above story to our attention. Looks like it's going to turn out to be a whopper, even bigger than the murder of Tookie Williams; much, much bigger, because it's going to be writ large all the way to the Supreme Court. I can see it now - "The case of this German "camel-jocky" who claims he was kidnapped, imprisoned and tortured by the CIA versus our very own and beloved president who (even though his WMD lie cost us more than eleven-hundred of our best and brightest) is expected to plead 'Trust me' before the court and to the public. 'After all, I've Five years in office and only one fib'. At the trial El-Masri's legal team will present mountains of supporting evidence, more than enough to guarantee them a slam-dunk victory. The case then goes to the judges. And the outcome? We the people change the world. Anything less will be fatal to all living beings and sooner, rather than later!

Subject: Senator Proxmire's Passing

I was twenty years old in 1957, when candidate William Proxmire came to our town in southern Wisconsin, Hartford, to campaign for election. He stopped at my dad's grocery store -- remember A&P, the largest retailer in the world in 1957? -- and asked me about my political concerns. I was stocking Nabisco crackers and cookies that day, and we sat on a hand truck, and he talked and I talked and my father, a Joe McCarthy Republican, became very agitated. I want to thank God for William Proxmire. He was there the year before I was old enough to vote. Thanks to him -- and to John Franzmann, my college roommate -- I NEVER in my life voted for a Republican -- in two years, [it will be] fifty years. I always respected William Proxmire, always voted for him, and thought that I was an itty-bitty part of his successes year by year. Please, God, send us more William Proxmires and Eugene McCarthys.

Subject: "Milestone" elections

The US has made it plain that the only way the occupation of Iraq can end is by the participation of Iraqis in the "free" elections that we will orchestrate. That Iraqis should take part under these conditions is no more remarkable, no more of a "milestone," than their being forced to play Bingo would be if that's what the men with the guns had decreed. They may indeed "yearn to be free," but poll after poll suggests it's freedom from us that they desire.

Subject: Prime Minister Martin V. Wilkins and Bush

Hi All!

Sometimes (heck most of the time) election campaigns are just sooooo boring..... but, just in time to wake us up and have many of us rolling around laughing comes the war of words between Wilkins and Martin...just toooo funny! I needed this belly laugh after all the other stuff (cr-p) that we mere humans have to deal with.

On a more sober side though, we are not Americans nor do wish to be seen as the kid next door. We do have an identity even if we express it as "we are not Americans." While there may be similarities, our values are not American values, they are our own (most of us support gay marriage too!). Subject: The Pharmacists' "War on Genitals" Really Only Applies to Half of Us

Why are the pharmacists in this country so bent on putting themselves out of business? Do they honestly think that their refusal to fill prescriptions ordered by a doctor on the basis of their "morality" is going to help them at all? The less likely the pharmacists are to fill prescriptions, the more likely the whole situation will be altered to allow people to fill their prescriptions right at the doctor's office, bringing the age of "pharmacy science" as a career to an abrupt and smoking halt. They're putting themselves out of a job, plain and simple.

But think about the hypocrisy of all this. The pharmacist at the local Walgreens or Rite Aid refuses to fill a birth control prescription on the basis of his belief that birth control pills might harm a fetus that may not even exist. Meanwhile, the imaginary fetus the pharmacist is trying to save is usually only a few short feet from the alcohol and cigarettes those stores also sell, and we have yet to hear of a pharmacist trying to stop women from purchasing either of those things based on the fact that they cause harm to unborn babies. In fact, it seems only logical that any pharmacist who refuses to fill a prescription for birth control pills because they might harm a fetus should also refuse to work in a place that sells alcohol and cigarettes for the exact same reason, but *that* idea doesn't appear to be anywhere on the agenda.

In all reality, there are a great many prescription drugs that are contraindicated during pregnancy, including several antidepressants, anticonvulsives, and antipsychotics. Are these pharmacists that care so much about the effects of birth control pills on a hypothetical fetus going to start refusing to fill these kinds of prescriptions for women as well? Just how many treatable illnesses might women be forced to live as prisoners to, based on the fact that they are merely capable of becoming pregnant, regardless of whether they actually are? What about drugs like Proscar and Avodart? These drugs are for the treatment of enlarged prostate, yet the inserts for these drugs warn women against even *handling* the pills for fear of possible harm to a fetus. One wonders if men, too, will someday be forced to suffer at the whim of the obscenely self-righteous.

Of course, the doomsday scenarios listed above will never come to pass. In considering them, however, we do arrive at one very interesting question. At what point do the pharmaceutical companies begin to push back? How much of their bottom line are they going to watch go down the drain, lost to the ersatz"morality" of their mules, before they start telling all those congressional representatives they've bought to fix the situation permanently?

In the end, it's very plain to see that this issue has next to nothing to do with whether or not a drug might hurt a baby. Of all the things pharmacies dispense to both women *and* men that could harm a potential fetus, the pharmacists are focused solely on female birth control pills. This is very clearly about sex, the obsession some people have with needing to control whether or not women have it, and their feeble attempt to mask pathological misogyny behind a smokescreen of religious conviction and concern for children.

This whole thing has sped way past peculiar fluke and crashed headlong into disgusting.

Subject: An Inquiry to the Hon Jo Ann Davis Concerning Candy Canes

The Honorable Jo Ann Davis,

As an American living abroad, I have been following with interest the important issues in America today: the vicious attacks against Congresswoman Schmidt who had the courage to put down that false patriot Rep Murtha who dared challenge the policy of OUR PRESIDENT; the reasoned defense of Congressman DeLay by OUR PRESIDENT against silly politically motivated charges of conspiracy to launder money and money laundering; the anti-Americanism of those “Americans” who believe that OUR PRESIDENT should be impeached if he lied about the reasons for attacking Iraq; and the attempts by leftist senators to limit the power of the government to do whatever it wants to anyone without regard for the constitution or international law – but recently I have become particularly alarmed by attacks on Christmas.

I plan to return to the United States to spend CHRISTMAS (not Kwanzaa, Ramadan or Chanukah) with my sister and her family. I plan to do my best to support the American economy and the spirit of Christmas by buying them lots of gifts in the US, but, after reading your resolution, I am concerned that I may not be able to find candy canes when I return home. Should I buy candy canes here in Europe, thereby ensuring that we will have a Christmas filled with the symbols which are so important to that holiday – but thereby contributing to the economy of a country that is an enemy of the US (France) – or will I still be able to find candy canes for sale in the US? Thank you for your attention to this very important matter.

The war on candy canes (Sierra Sun)

Subject: Bush's Boss

The news of the past few days has been astonishing.

Bush announces that he will not oppose McCain's torture law? Bush announces plan for New Orleans levees? Bush admits war was begun over flawed intelligence?

I will still never trust him (like the old story about the snake and the river) but I do wonder.

WHO is telling Bush to ask this way? Nothing in his background indicates that he ever changes his mind. Can't be Cheney....he wants the torture to go on. Can't be Poppy, Junior never listens to him. Rove? Don't know.

WHO is Bush's boss?

Subject: Presidential Privilege?

We now know why until recently the President's Keepers have been so averse to letting him out of a completely scripted environment. Not exactly a big or a quick thinker is he?

After months of being told that the White House will not discuss ongoing investigations, Bush blithely said that he believes Tom DeLay is not guilty. He also says he wants him back in Congress where he gets “our” bills through. A good reporter would have questioned some of the tactics DeLay has used to get those bills through, but then the interviewer was Britt Hume, so we got stenography.

President Says DeLay Is Not Guilty of Money Laundering (Washington Post)

Bush said that he wasn’t all that familiar with the Abramoff scandal but that it seemed to him that he (Abramoff) was giving money to both parties. Once again Hume let this slide, although anyone with an I.Q. higher than their shoe size knows that Republicans received much more.

You might also think that the President of the United States would be familiar with the Abramoff scandal just because of the arrest of the Bush administration’s top federal procurement official David Safavian. Safavian was accused of lying and obstructing a criminal investigation into Abramoff’s dealings with the federal government. Again Hume played stenographer.

Bush Official Arrested in Corruption Probe (Washington Post)

Bush says his relationship with Cheney is better than ever. Scary.

Bush says his relationship with Rove is better than ever. If Rove is indicted, will this statement come back to haunt him? Does anyone expect this president to hold anyone in his party accountable?

Then Mr. Bush said that Rummy was doing a heck of a good job. Didn’t he once say that about someone else who was later found to be an incompetent nincompoop more concerned with his wardrobe than the fate of people dying in New Orleans?? Why would anyone with half a brain want to remind people of Brownie?

That’s just us negative Democrats being picky. And negative. Shame on us for thinking that the leader of the free world should be able to give a couple of interviews without sticking his foot in his mouth. Isn’t that supposed to be Howard Dean’s job? Still, I’ve never seen Dean get both feet planted in his mouth in one interview.

I guess coming across as disengaged and not very smart is all part of “Presidential Privilege.” Meanwhile Hume just sits there as a prime example of all that is wrong with the Media Stenographers.

Subject: Why Aren’t You Mad?

We went to war in Iraq because we were told that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and that he posed an imminent danger to the United States. He didn’t and he didn’t. At least 30,000 Iraqis and 2149 Americans have died so far. Why aren’t you mad about that?

We have spent nearly a half a trillion dollars in Iraq as our schools, highways, Medicare, food stamps and other social programs go beneath the GOP-controlled Congress’s ax. Meanwhile no millionaire or billionaire is left behind in the tax cut circus on Capitol Hill. Why aren’t you mad about that?

After all the hype and all the talk about 9/11, the 9/11 Commission says that very little has been done to keep it from happening again. The Department of Homeland Security has spent a lot of taxpayer money without making us anymore secure. Why aren’t you mad about that?

New Orleans drowned and then was left to die of indifference and incompetence while Bush ate cake with John McCain. Nero fiddled, Bush played guitar. Why aren’t you mad about that?

The Bush administration has foisted a Medicare Drug Program off on the public that will cost tens of billions of dollars more than they said it would cost, benefits drug companies more than private citizens and is so complicated few can understand it. Why aren’t you mad about that?

The Patriot Act peeks into your reading habits, your bank account, and can even go into your house without you ever knowing they were there. Only one Senator voted to keep this invasive act from becoming law. Why aren’t you mad about that?

Various other agencies, including the Pentagon, have been spying on American citizens. Now we discover that President Bush authorized the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on people inside the United States without the court approval usually required for domestic spying. Why aren’t you mad about that?

Bush Secretly Lifted Some Limits on Spying in U.S. After 9/11, Officials Say (NY Times)

Oh no, Americans don’t have their knickers all in a twist about all the things listed above. Nosirreebob. Subject: Bush Accepts McCain's Ban on Torture

Faced with a certain over-ride if he tried to veto the bill, President Bush has accepted Sen. John McCain's anti-torture amendment.

This is a major victory for the forces of human decency and Christian love, and a major defeat for the sadistic and perverted warhawks who had tried to drag us down to the level of uncivilized savages, on the pretext that we couldn't protect our country if we didn't torture our prisoners.

You can see all the details at http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=Bush+Mccain+torture&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d

There is still the possibility that the Rumsfeld-Cheney pro-torture clique will try to bypass or subvert the new law, but there is no question now that our national policy clearly and forcefully rejects torture in any form, for any reason.

Congratulations to Congress for waking up and opposing the right-wing, pro-torture minority, and refusing to go along with yet another bad policy of the President.

And congratulations to Sen. McCain, for leading the Republican opposition to torture and facing down our badly-advised Republican President.

Subject: Government Databases and Katrina

Hey Buzzers,

Those of us who frequently write BuzzFlash, complain to the White House and join anti-war marches know that our names are on lists somewhere. They probably have us cross-referenced and cataloged by race, job and political party (unless they just classify us all as commies).

Then why in the hell are 6,664 people still "unaccounted for" in New Orleans? You'd think "In a post 9-11 world" that the government would have a surefire database for gathering and cross-referencing data on missing people. They can sure come up with a list of felons when they want to clean up the voter rolls in Florida, so why hasn't Choicepoint (the felon list company Katherine Harris used) or SOME data mining company come up with a single database for Katrina victims and their families to input information about their loved ones? Apparently there are many lists, Red Cross, FEMA, and local shelter lists but not one single big database. I realize that when you are busy throwing people out of their temporary housing or moving some of them 14 times in 14 weeks (both in the news) you don't have time for details like connecting families. But with 1,300 children missing, this has gone beyond disorganization to willful neglect.

I can't imagine what those folks whose kids and families are missing must be going through and I am ashamed that our Congress are failing them so totally and taking an extra two weeks off for the holidays, too.

They should spend their Christmas DeLay (two extra weeks for Tom DeLay to get his legal troubles handled) working for Habitat for Humanity in Louisiana and Mississippi. And putting names into a single search engine to reunite families.

Subject: Re Article from Common Dreams

BuzzFlash,

FYI. However there's a much, much bigger story here. The NYT (16 Dec.) exposes "a presidential order ["PD"] signed in 2002" which "authorized the NSA to eavesdrop on Americans." Note deep in story, quotes from John Yoo/Gonzales & others who base President Bush's authority to anything he damn well pleases because of a [2002 Justice Department brief] "the Constitution vests in the President inherent authority to conduct warrantless intelligence surveillance [OR TORTURE] (electronic or otherwise) of foreign powers or their agents, and Congress cannot by statute extinguish that Constitutional authority."

This means of course that THE BUSHEVIKS actually believe that Bush is above the LAW/CONSTITUTION--"that goddamned piece of paper." My bottom line is this: THERE IS ALSO A NATIONAL SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE, prepared by Gonzales/Yoo/Cheney's Office, AUTHORIZING TORTURE--this side of "Organ Failure." That's why Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rice have been fighting so hard to shoot down Senator McCain's ANTI-TORTURE LAW/Why The WH is trying to rush THE PATRIOT ACT through/Why "President Bush reversed course on Thursday and reluctantly backed Senator John McCain's call for a law banning cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment of prisoners in American custody." [NYT, 16 Dec. 2005]

It is my hunch/opinion that one of the key reasons for the White House's policy switch on the Bush-Cheney TORTURE POLICY is their knowledge, or fear given the exposure of the NSA "PD" in today's NYT, that others in the MSM may already know about the Bush TORTURE PD's also signed in February 2002--or earlier. Hence the Busheviks want to get ahead of the firestorm.

I sensed FEAR in Rice's eyes this morning on the "Today" show.

Keep up the good fight vs. the American Fascists in all their manifestations.

(Bush of course believes all that "President as Evangelical Dictator/Wartime Presidential CRAPOLA" from his fawning W.H. "yes-men/women" & "Court Historians" like Bob Woodward.)

New York Times admits it held domestic spying story for a full year  (Raw Story)

BuzzFlash readers may not realize that the Nuremberg Tribunal included charges against people who aided and abetted the rise of the party and the initiation of an unjustified war.

It even included a publisher who supported the regime. If we substitute a name, it looks very familiar.

DEFENDANT SULZBERGER

The Defendant SULZBERGER between 1990 and 2005 was: A member of the NEOCON Party, the publisher of the NEOCON newspaper New York Times and of related media outlets. The Defendant SULZBERGER used the foregoing positions, his personal influence, and his intimate connection with the BUSH ADMINISTRATION in such a manner that: He developed, disseminated, and exploited the doctrinal techniques of the NEOCON conspirators set forth in Count One of the Indictment; he promoted the accession to power of the NEOCON conspirators and the consolidation of their control over the United States set forth in Count One of the Indictment; he promoted the psychological preparations for war set forth in Count One of the Indictment; he participated in the political planning and preparation for Wars of Aggression and Wars in Violation of International Treaties, Agreements, and Assurances set forth in Counts One and Two of the Indictment; and he authorized, directed, and participated in the War Crimes set forth in Count Three of the Indictment and the Crimes against Humanity set forth in Count Four of the Indictment, including a wide variety of crimes against persons and property.

Taken from Nuremberg Archives at Yale. Defendant Rosenberg was charged as an accessory to the initiation of unjustified war and related war crimes for his use of the media he controlled as a propaganda tool.

Subject: Attacks on Christmas (Trees)

Dear BuzzFlash,

It amazes me how much commotion is being raised over the issue of Christmas trees. Every single Christian should be beaming with pride on how arguing over this issue sets them apart as a shining example of faith. Of course we all remember the story of the nativity and how the first Christmas tree was decorated in the manger by Mary and Joseph, evergreen trees being so abundant in Bethlehem. What kind of knucklehead would blaspheme to think it was a pagan ritual adopted by the church? It was probably around the Christmas tree that the idea first occurred to Jesus to spread the new covenant: Love God and your neighbor as yourself.

Of course that only meant your Christian neighbors - not including Jews or Muslims or any of the myriad of other faiths included (regretfully?) in the bill of rights protections, upon which our nation was founded. Because, of course, every candle lighted in every menorah is a direct attack on this fragile religion. It's such a shame that Christians have been so long persecuted in this country. Too bad someone hasn't risen to power in this country who truly espouses the ethos of the fundamentally Christian, so that their message could be brought to other godless, sovereign nations. So gird yourselves in truth, o ye embattled Christians. Gather 'round the CHRISTMAS trees in the public squares and rally! So that all may hear the Savior's message: Whensoever you have done it unto the least of my brethren, then too, you have done it unto me. May the baby Jesus close your mouths and open your hearts. Happy Holidays!

Tobin guilty on phone jamming charges (Bangor Daily News)

Regarding Mr. Tobin, that republican hack who jammed the phone lines in New Hampshire, and worked his little tush off to block Democrats from voting in 2002. The entire story is really worth reading. I want to remind the Democratic Party that these guys PAY their political help. They pay them when they first hire them. They pay for their legal defense. They put them in a job and continue to pay them AFTER they have been found guilty of federal crime on behalf of the party. It is little wonder why being a Republican is so popular in America. They take care of their people. It tends to make republicans love their party more than their nation. This has got to be the reason why.

Their party leaders destabilize the nation at large and take care of those who march to their step ONLY. Pretty good formula. Seig Heil.

Subject: Fit for Duty?

Recent revelations in the press about our less-than-illustriously performing pResident should leave any freedom-loving, speech-loving advocate for this country gasping.

We have learned that we are, indeed, transporting people to locations in Eastern Europe for purposes of torture in the so-called War on Terror. Former CIA clandestine officers have come forth and said that HUMINT sources are better treated in a humane manner so they can be fully utilized as an on-going source of information.

We have also learned that ... Bush's many proclamations that Congress had the "same intelligence" as he and his staff are simply untrue (reference the report provided to Senator Dianne Feinstein by the CRS).

We have also learned that Li'l Georgie "Fauntleroy" Bush secretly lifted restrictions on the NSA to begin conducting secret surveillance on US citizens -- Tricky Dick Reduz.

Just these three egregious actions should have our Congress demanding that Bush appear in front of them, sworn-in, and made to testify as to what the hell is going on. If Bush is consistently lying about his administration's nefarious machinations, he needs to have his feet held to the fire.

On the contrary, if (and this is a big "if") he really doesn't know what is going on, then we must demand to know why. With the money and perks he receives from our wallets, we deserve an accountable-to-the-people leader. We do not have one.

We are finally beginning to see some members of Congress making and taking principled stands. We must support these people, and continue applying pressure on those who still refuse to see the light of day.

By the way, I have also read that Senator Russ Feingold (one of my Senators) has been appointed to the Senate Intelligence Committee. This is good. Feingold is a maverick and a fighter.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but we all need to keep pushing the engineers.

Subject: The Lies of the Ethically Challenged!

How many times have we heard President Screw-up say, “They {Congress} looked at the same information that we did?”

A government report was requested by Senator Diane Feinstein.

http://feinstein.senate.gov/crs-intel.htm

From: Alfred Cumming Specialist in Intelligence and National Security Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade Division Subject: Congress as a Consumer of Intelligence Information

The body of this report is very long and shows the limitations of information Congress gets, and contains much more information, but here are a few points:

Congressional Access to Intelligence Information Not Routinely Provided in Four Areas

The executive branch generally does not routinely share with Congress four general types of intelligence information:

• the identities of intelligence sources;

• the "methods" employed by the Intelligence Community in collecting and analyzing intelligence;

• "raw" intelligence, which can be unevaluated or "lightly" evaluated intelligence, (18) which in the case of human intelligence (19) sometimes is provided by a single source, but which also could consist of intelligence derived from multiple sources when signals (20) and imagery (21) collection methods are employed; and,

• Certain written intelligence products tailored to the specific needs of the President and other high-level executive branch policymakers. Included in the last category is the President's Daily Brief (PDB), a written intelligence product which is briefed daily to the President, and which consists of six to eight relatively short articles or briefs covering a broad array of topics. (22) The PDB emphasizes current intelligence (23) and is viewed as highly sensitive, in part, because it can contain intelligence source and operational information. Its dissemination is thus limited to the President and a small number of presidentially-designated senior administration policymakers. (24)

ISN’T THIS SPECIAL??!!

Bush can do anything he wants EVEN if he speaks out of BOTH sides of his mouth! The White House declared yesterday it was “Presidential prerogative” to declare the poster-boy for corruption, Tom DeLay innocent! With much hubris, George refuses to comment on “TreasonGate” to cover his “Presidential prerogative arse.” Bush’s term in office has shown his judgment to be “impaired” on many fronts.

“MORAL VALUES” OR “MORAL HYPOCRISY???”

The administration asked The New York Times NOT to publish this article! Any excuse will do, calling wrong, right is a hallmark of the Bush Administration! As always, when the Bush Administration is caught with its pants down, they use an excuse, this time it is the “Homeland Security excuse” despite the fact it tramples on the rights of all Americans. This excuse, along with, “Executive Privilege” and “Security” has been employed time and time again as an out and out “COVER-UP” {Cheney Energy Commission, Oil Company Protections, to name just two}.

Months after the Sept. 11 attacks, President Bush secretly authorized the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on Americans and others inside the United States to search for evidence of terrorist activity without the court-approved warrants ordinarily required for domestic spying, according to government officials.

Bush Administration Asked New York Times Not To Publish This Article… http://www.huffingtonpost.com/thenewswire

The bottom line is, the Bush Administration gave themselves permission to eavesdrop on our calls, monitor our e-mails, spy on legitimate political action groups and take names, checkout car license plates, {blocking anyone from the opposition from attending their closed Bush appearances, and put protesters on a terrorists list. They can do all this “domestic spying” without warrants, to catch the few “bad guys”{maybe} by abusing the rights of thousands of Americans!

We have seen the truth of a Betram Gross quote, as we watch the parade of the ethically-challenged, Bush, Cheney, Rove, Libby, McClellan, Rumsfeld, Rice, DeLay, Frist, Cunningham, Powell, and Safavian to name a few! Gross told us, “The more lies are told, the more important it becomes for the liars to justify themselves by deep moral commitments to high-sounding objectives to MASK the pursuit of money and power!”
