Subject: Dominie Robinson...Yucca Valley, CA

As pertains to "Hijacking Catastrophe" I saw it on a local channel here...and could not believe my eyes. All the documentaries of this war...are horrid...in all you see slaughtered women...and children. You also see our military people admit it...but, they seem to be programmed to say what they have been brain-washed to say! (even though we know from their mouths...that they did use napalm). I think Hijacking Catastrophe is the 'tie up the loose ends' version...I got the dvd from BuzzFlash...and have watched it a dozen times...but, times must really be changing to put it on any kind of channel even though St. Louis is a very (once was) democratic city... You and everyone interested should really start with "Fahrenheit 911"...It is truth, but told with a little humor...like Bush's landing on the Aircraft carrier...with music appropriate for the act...when the planes are flown out of the US after 911, carrying 146 Saudis...even though 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis...and when all air travel was closed to Americans!! I had 3 relatives stuck in Houston...and Los Angeles...for three days...but, to protect the Saudis, we flew 4-5 private jets and commercial planes out on the 13th, for Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia, at taxpayers' expense!

I have gotten all my DVDs from BuzzFlash...and I don't know if they still sell them...but, when you find out some of the things that they did, right after 911...a smart person can figure it out. I am not a Rocket Scientist...but I figured it out...and at the time...everyone I tried to tell...thought I was stupid, Unpatriotic, and should just shut up! Try Fahrenheit 911 to start...then "Uncovered, the real story on the war in Iraq," it tells you so much. as spoken from the CIA people and the Weapons inspectors. A little clue...the upcoming movie on the big screen" Syriana" is about this...I have no idea how they are going to play it...but, George Clooney is playing one of the CIA analysts, he had to gain weight...Mr. Clooney is an activist. He is sick of the fact that the Republicans call themselves compassionate...he says, he is screaming Liberal from the rooftops...he says we do not have to put Compassionate in front of the word for people to know that we give a s++t about people! Fahrenheit 911 can be rented from your local video rental...and I found some of the others there, too. If you are interested in what actually happened to Bill Clinton...the DVD "The Hunting of the President" has that, too! Good luck.

Subject: I'm Just Wondering, Mr. Bu$h

Is Iraq gonna have the same kind of democracy as we here in the U.S. of A. have? Or is theirs gonna respect the will of its people?

Subject: Puppet Meltdown Ahead

The Iraqi puppet army doesn't stand a chance. without the backing of the armed forces of the USA. That was the story in Vietnam. Within weeks after that last helicopter took off from the US embassy in Saigon, the US-sponsored puppet South Vietnamese army had collapsed, surrendered and was headed for re-education camps. Sure, they'd sign up for cash (as in Iraq now, where no other jobs are available) but, alas, they weren't willing to die for money, and that's how come they had zero chance against Vietnamese patriots who proved themselves willing to die for their country. That's because a people who accept martyrdom in return for their freedom and independence can never be defeated; this side of genocide, that is.

Subject: Murtha's Comments that "Army Is 'Worn Out, Living Hand to Mouth'"

Murtha's WRONG to make such public statements even if they're true. This is VERY DANGEROUS TALK and hardly "supports the troops." It makes America SOUND VERY VULNERABLE militarily. This is music to our really dangerous enemies: China, North Korea, let alone Al Qaeda and other fanatics. This is the very type of internal government confusion that, for example, would motivate China to move quickly against Taiwan. What would you do if you were in their shoes?

Buzz, you were WRONG to award a man who's been a monstrous splinter in the Democratic Party for so long--even if he's finally seen the light and started to reverse our aberrant course. Till now his words have been restitution, not courage! But for any politician to now publically restate the negative or weakened condition of the nation's armed forces is just plain criminally negligent!

Subject: Back in the U.S.A.

Hi, Buzz!!

After five months down under, I am glad to be back in the U.S.A. Thanks to everyone at BuzzFlash and all the readers and contributors for keeping me up on what's been going on here at home while I was away.

I must respond to the BuzzFlash reader who said he'd noticed that GOP (and DINO) legislators don't answer their email. I've noticed that too; when I email my Congressman, Jerry Moran, I almost always get an automatic reply with "unattended mailbox" in the subject line. I'm not sure what that means, except that nobody's reading my messages. My Senator, Sam Brownback, also sends form replies, when he replies at all.

I occasionally get an answer when I write by snail mail, but Republican replies are so much bull roar, so they're pretty useless.

But I continue to write, because it's my right - and indeed, my responsibility as a citizen - but more and more I rely on snail mail.

Subject: The Media

I object to BuzzFlash referring to "the media" as a single, monolithic entity.

"Media" is a collective noun, and should use a plural verb. Not "The media is," but "the media are."

Remember, media originally meant the "mediums" through which information is propagated. Television, radio, cinema, books, etc.

It's also important to distinguish between news media and entertainment media. Of course, Rush Limbaugh will never make this distinction--by referring to the media as one homogenous body, he can rail against the arguably liberal streak in Hollywood, knowing his listeners will conflate it with the non-existent "liberal bias" in the news media.

BuzzFlash is part of the media. Daily Kos is part of the media. Media Matters for America is part of the media.

So are Michael Moore, Al Franken, Bill Maher and a host of other pro-left outlets.

So are all the movie studios, television stations, publishing houses, and so forth.

It's important that people not fall into the trap of lumping all "media" together into one pejorative epithet.

After all, that's what Big Brother would want, isn't it?

A BuzzFlash Reader

[BuzzFlash Note: You're not alone in your grammatical view. However, "Media" is used both ways, as Mirriam-Webster Online explains, despite its etymology. We think the distinction you draw between entertainment and news media is worth keeping in mind. Finally, why do you say "all" the movie studios etc. are pro-left? An intentional or inadvertent exaggeration on your part?]

Subject: People Have So Much To Say!

I would like to say that your hard work is greatly appreciated. I used to believe that without the internet our country as we know it would be history. I would like to add that, without your news clearinghouse, we might be lost in the vast and spinning world of cyber space. Thank you for covering our backs, you are a true patriot and a great American.

I am a "sick" BuzzFlash reader and I was wondering if you could provide something like Halo Scan for each of your stories presented so that I and others could post some feedback. It would be nice to communicate with other citizens within our BuzzFlash Nation.

Peace.

Subject: Hillary's Stance on Iraq

I have recently started receiving fund-raising letters from Hillary. I open them, and then write in big letters, "I will start supporting your campaign when you start speaking out on Iraq." I do not make a contribution but I do mail it back on their dime. It's an expensive way to get my opinion but if enough of us do this, they will get the message very quickly.

Subject: Anthrax Investigation

Is there any any progress on the Anthrax investigation or is it even less a priority than Osama?

A BuzzFlash Reader

[BuzzFlash Note: We posted a NY Times piece in September: "In 4-Year Anthrax Hunt, F.B.I. Finds Itself Stymied, and Sued"; and" US army plans to bulk-buy anthrax" from NewScientist.com news service. And today, AP/Boston.com reports that "Bush seeks resumption of anthrax program." The Christian Science Monitor ran "Anthrax whodunit: Is it a cold case file?" last month. But you're, of course, asking about the "investigation."]

Subject: 2004 Election

I have seen numerous academic statistical studies reported on the internet suggesting that the 2004 Presidential election was fraudulently counted. The paucity of discussion of this crucial topic on BuzzFlash leads me to query the commitment of BuzzFlash to honest open reporting. What gives?

Subject: Free Press in Iraq

Tonight the screamer (Chris Matthews) was beside himself on our soldiers writing articles and having them printed on the Iraqi press without attribution. Apparently we are paying a large sum of taxpayer dollars to plant these stories. He had Pat Buchanan and Ronnie's dancing son as his guests.

I agreed with both of them. I agreed with Pat, if we are in a war, propaganda is part of the war, and we should do everything possible to help our soldiers win. I also agreed with Ronnie, Jr. saying that if we are in a war for democracy, what does it say about our democratic principles if the first thing we do is try to influence a supposedly free press?

Well, I have news for Ronnie, this war has nothing to do with democracy.

Just the same, I applaud Chris for even discussing this topic. Now if he ever gets around to actually discussing plants in our own domestic media, and the undermining of our democracy, then we may actually have something to cheer about.
