Subject: I'm beginning to feel prophetic -- re: prophetic bird flu pandemic

In addition to the desperate attempt to inflict "Scalito" on the Supreme Court, I just heard about the A**h*le-in-Chief (NOTE HERE: I've been calling him the "Chimp-in-Chief, but a friend pointed out that actual chimps are more intelligent and ethical. I agree) preaching about the oncoming bird flu pandemic.

His solution? Pay megabucks to the Big Drug Makers to produce a vaccine that the poor and the marginal among us won't be able to pay for. Ban all imported versions of the vaccine. Sounds easier than pushing bills to end SS, Medicaid, Medicare, or funding for "No Child Left Behind" programs, right? Can't you just hear Rove and Cheney: "The threat of bird flu is even better -- and MUCH EASIER -- than finding another terrorist attack we can allow to happen. And if all those peasants who can't AFFORD the vaccine die off, we'll -- [sinister laughter and high fives here] have even MORE money and resources for those deserving citizens -- those in OUR class, of course!"

Sorry about the gallows humor. But, as I've been saying for the past two years (in the Mailbag), I wouldn't put ANYTHING past these...creatures. While some of us are delighted to watch the A**h*le-in-Chief squirm (and, yes, I STILL believe he's drinking again; growing up with an alcoholic parent makes one sensitive to signs) now that he's in the same "deep doodoo" his earthly father described -- I fear that, when push comes to shove, or political crisis comes to disaster, we'll be presented with another terrorist attack or a pandemic...whatever fits their schedule.

WE NEED TO TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK -- even if it takes a second American Revolution. And SOON!!! (I've decided to sign my full name. I already have an FBI file, and I'm sure "they" know me by now anyway!)

Subject: World Series Connection

Will Patrick Fitzgerald close the book on the investigation into the liars who drove America into an unnecessary war in Iraq? Many pundits and bloggers were expecting more indictments last Friday. Many continue to cling to the hope the investigation that commenced nearly two years ago over the leak of a CIA agent’s identity will result in more indictments of Bush administration members. This could just be a fleeting hope.

The big news October 28, 2005 was the indictment against Cheney’s chief-of-staff Irving Lewis Libby. Rather than refer to him as Scooter I will use his initials, ILL, the designated fall guy on crutches. The big sports news at the very same time was the victory celebration for the World Champion Chicago White Sox back in the Windy City. Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald is from Chicago and his recent work is aimed at breaking apart the illegal secrecy in the preparations for the war in Iraq. Thus, Chicago, Illinois represents disclosure while Houston, Texas and the Bush family baseball team the Astros represents maintaining secrecy.

Let’s now recap World Series Game 4. Excellent pitching from both starting pitchers kept the game scoreless through seven innings. Then White Sox pinch-hitter Willie Harris led off the eighth with a single and later scored on Jermaine Dye’s single to center. This proved to be the only run of the game. Juan Uribe’s fantastic defensive play at shortstop ensured the final score: Chicago 1 – Houston 0.

Two days later, after rampant speculation, Fitzgerald releases one indictment against ILL. Does this signify that this is the conclusion of this matter? One run in the decisive baseball game, the White Sox clean sweep, followed by one indictment by the Justice Department.

[BuzzFlash Note: But in Fitzgerald's game, the referees haven't said "Game Over/Final Score." In fact, could we say that Fitzgerald has only won so far in the play offs?]

Subject: Baseball Analogies

Dear Buzz,

It would seem that baseball analogies are all the rage lately. So here's another one. How many friggin' strikes does Dumbya get!? Ignoring the intelligence that led to the preventable 9/11 disaster: Strike one! Big tax breaks for the wealthy: Strike two! Lying in an effort to start a war for oil in Iraq: Strike three! He's out!?

Hell no! He's like the irksome little brother from hell, "Mom says you gotta let me have thirty hundred strikes or else you're grounded!" Mission accomplished: Strike twenty-six! Saying, "Bring 'em on" to a bunch of religious fanatic warrior/nut jobs who have been bringing it on for a thousand years: Strike ninety-eight!! Stealing two elections: Strike one hundred and thirty seven! Torture: Strike six hundred forty two! Putting "Brownie" in charge of FEMA: Strike one thousand four hundred forty seven! Outing Valerie: Strike thirty hundred, you're out!

"No, no! Mom says I get thirty hundred more 'cause I'm just little! And now we're supposed to let this uber twerp nominate another Supreme Court Justice!?? And who does he choose but another royalist chickenhawk!?!

This "president" and his mutton-headed "administration" should not be permitted to nominate a candidate for lunch from the menu at the local Burger Gulag. George W Bush and his crony cabal appear to be trying to find a deathblow to deal to the USA; common sense should dictate that he gets no further chances to wreck our country. This should be obvious to even a certified imbecile.

Unfortunately, the umpires are all Republicans and Republican Lite, i.e. Democrats. It's going to be a long sixth inning.

Subject: Voting Integrity -- Nothing is more important

I'm sending on this email I received pointing to something we all can do to ensure that our votes count. When one of the top voting machine companies in the US (Sequoia Voting Machines) is owned by a Venezuelan who has been refused a visa to visit the US, we have to wonder what is going on? If we don't get answers, and more important, changes, then we deserve to have our democracy compromised into a corrupt oligarchy.

Fellow Americans,

Does your county have a group dedicated to the issue of Voting Integrity? If not, why not? This is the number one issue in the USA. We need more Americans to stand up and get active on this issue. Most state constitutions require free and fair elections. When did we abdicate that responsibility to corporate America? Did you know that corporations program our voting machines secretly? Did you know there is no oversight as to what they program? No one can check because they claim 'proprietary' right. We are not positive that cheating has happened with electronic voting machines, but we also don't know that it did not or can not happen. Our election process should not be PRIVATIZED. This problem can and must be fixed. We need informed groups of citizens on this issue in every county in every state. WE THE PEOPLE must demand free, fair, and verifiable elections. Start or get involved with such a group in your county! Here are three web site on the issue to start! For more information go to http://www.TurnAroundAmerica.Org (Issues - Election Integrity).

1. Blackbox voting: http://www.blackboxvoting.org

2. Voters Unite: http://www.votersunite.org

3. Verified Voting: http://verifiedvoting.org

Subject: Indictment One

Let's not be fooled by the so-called sword of Damocles hanging over Rove. We should remember that when the Busheviks praise a prosecutor like Fitzpatrick for his objectivity, there is reason to smell a rat. This Prosecutor is in their pocket, and Libby is intended as a sop for the opposition. All will be soon forgotten, and Rove will continue to rove at leisure. As for Alito (Italian for breath, hopefully not bad breath), he will be under close and prolonged scrutiny by the democrats, and this is as planned: prolonged hearings will continue to draw the spotlight onto the nominee and thus Plamegate and Nigergate will be completely forgotten by the media.

Subject: Letter to Real Time with Bill Maher

Letter I sent to Real Time with Bill Maher regarding the show from Oct. 28:

I'm a huge fan of the show, but can no longer continue to watch if the blubbering right wing bush babblers are permitted to steal the floor and keep it for the entire night, with no way to dispute the lies (Tony Snow). Please, either don't have that ilk on the show, or have a REALLY strongly prepared counterpoint prepared. It made me sick!! The whole media is covered with these idiots and I would like to just have one show where they aren't even allowed on the premises. Try it their way. It seems to be working for THEM!! Thank you!

Thanks BuzzFlash,

Subject: Brownie Points

I read the other day that FEMA has rehired Mike Brown for another 30 days.

From the great job FEMA has been doing, it's obvious that they need experienced personnel. However, if Brown (who couldn't have his dinner interrupted) is to stay on payroll, I will consider my tax dollars well spent when I see him in hip waders pulling the dead out of the flood waters - and not until.

Subject: The Hard Truth; They Always Dismiss Us!

“They always dismiss us.” This is true about the Bush Administration, the Main Stream Media, and in particular, television anchors and pundits. Reminders of the out of sight, out of mind attitude is evident with stories such as the Downing Street Memo, election fraud, Bush military service, and others. Americans are watching, reading, and listening. Here is our message to you! “Every morning, you pull out your White House talking points for the day, and like a true propaganda arm of the Bush/Rove political machine you try to shape our minds with THEIR B.S! We search for honest representatives of the news, and dismally find that they are few and far between. We long for the anchor that will read the daily talking points from a corrupt Administration and shit-can them in the nearest waste receptacle! We don’t believe your denials about not being controlled by your parent corporations and Pioneers for Bush! You have been using, the American people, and dismissing our opinions for far too long!”

What happens today, ask veteran reporter Helen Thomas! The Bush Administration doesn’t like “hard questions” They sure do not like people like us or Helen Thomas who thinks Bush is the worst President ever!

George Clooney discusses the film "Good Night And Good Luck!"

Excerpt from article:

There isn't a reporter that I knew and I grew up with them that doesn't want to break a big story. I mean, there really isn't. That's the fun of it. The problem is that sometimes when you ask a tough question, you get sent to the back of the press conference room and you lose access and then you've traded away one story for the entire network's access. So that's how it's censored. It's not that you can't ask the question. It's just that you might get, "'Okay, you're done. Go to the back of the room."

How sad is that for all of us!

In the light of the above information, will we ever have a media responsible to the American people to report the truth? Surely the cocoon of extreme secrecy intact around the Bush Administration has worked against getting to the truth in many media matters like the false premise to go to war and the Plamegate investigation. We are left with the end result of many reporters more interested in covering their ass then covering the story accurately!

McCarthyism was much like the Rovian method of attack. Consider the attacks on Richard Clarke, Max Cleland, Paul O’Neill, John Kerry, Joe Wilson and so many others who were targets for revenge and destruction. Also consider the atmosphere of fear, the “swift boating” and scare tactics dominating the propaganda of the Bush/Rove/Republican political Machine. Most of all consider the deficit of honesty and the, lies, scandals, and corruption, we have witnessed since Bush and his cronies have been in office.

Hearing the words of Edward R. Murrow, we realize we must fight and defend what we believe in, and we can clearly see how different the media of today is, compared to these words:

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty! We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason if we dig deep in our history or doctrine and remember that we are not descended from fearful men. Not from men who feared to write, to associate, to speak and defend the causes that for the moment were unpopular. Good Night And Good Luck!

Murrow also spoke of television and reminded us:

This instrument can teach. It can illuminate. Yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise, it is merely wires and lights in a box!

In this vast wasteland of news, it would be better if the media reread the words of Edward R. Murrow each morning, instead of reviewing and parroting the daily Bush Talking points!

Subject: Bird Flu

Dear BuzzFlash,

The news today is that W has a plan to handle Bird Flu when it hits the pandemic stage. It seems to me that birds migrate from North to South, not from East to West. If birds did the latter, they would have large oceans to cross...unless they hitch a ride on a jet, or ocean liner.

Methinks the administration is simply trying to cover up Mr. Rove and the dirty deeds he did. This idea of causing alarm is so old by now...

Subject: Faith

When you've been anointed by God to be President of the United States, you might have a bit of a problem. Your problem is that when things don't go so well for you and it's all collapsing around you, then you aren't left with many alternative fantasies.

If we accept the argument by Bush's most ardent disciples that he was chosen by God to be President, what are we to make of events. Our choices would seem to be: 1. God has abandoned George W. Bush and has visited calamities upon him as punishments. 2. God is testing George W. Bush's faith and resolve. This would seem an odd approach to someone who's supposed to be doing your work on earth. Normally, you wouldn't hinder someone in a necessary task. 3. God never actually supported George W. Bush and the calamities are of his own making. 4. There is no God.

Unfortunately for George W. Bush's disciples, regardless of which of the above alternatives is true, they have convincingly proven that they are idiots because they believed all that crap and still do.

Subject: Article on 'boston.com', Anti War Protesters March On Common

BuzzFlash,

I have just seen and read your article from boston.com, titled "Antiwar Protestors March on Common." Having attended that peace rally, I would like to make a comment about the photo

accompanying it. I saw that striking young woman holding the Support the Troops sign shouting at the peace advocates, but she was constantly marching in the company of a small group of fascist nazis who were saluting 'sieg heil' as they protested against the rally. I believe the picture which also was on the front page of the Boston Sunday Globe is a complete distortion of the happenings at that peaceful rally in Boston.

It would seem appropriate for you to get some true undistorted pictures of what was happening that day in Boston. The sponsor of the rally I believe, was an antiwar global action group.

It's one of those "Wow, and right in front of us" moments Yeah, the truth's getting out. The emperor really has no clothes. And his ranch is a phony, too, set up to enhance his cowboy image, which also is a genuine fraud. No surprise, this, The powers that be are small-time hustlers with a terrorizing yet astonishingly successful pitch -"Give us your children, your benefits, your health care system, public education, clean air and a future on earth for all us living beings" and what do we the people get in return? Nothing but the status-quo or being steadily worse-off than before and sliding downhill fast. How to avoid the crash? Change the world! Who'll do it? We the People, of course. Best give-up on those politicos. They're in it for themselves only and therefore they tend to sell-out to the highest bidder. Besides, with six billion plus human beings fully engaged in changing the world, no middle-persons will be needed. It's to be a do it oneself endeavor.

Subject: Question for "Conservatives"

It took 45 Presidents and 226 years to incur the first ONE TRILLION dollar debt. It has now taken President Bush and the Republican led Congress only four years and 1 President to double that to TWO TRILLION. If the present budget passes then it will increase to THREE TRILLION by 2010 and FOUR TRILLION by 2015. Of course most of this debt is borrowed from foreign countries. We owe Japan and China almost ONE TRILLION already.

My question is; how can anyone possibly still call the Republicans and George W Bush conservatives with a straight face? It is something that totally escapes any logic I can see but maybe I am missing something. Fill me in.

Subject: another spineless dem

Please add the name of Ben Nelson, D-NE to my list of Democrats that should be banned by the Democrat Party from appearing, speaking or in any way representing the view of Democrats. While watching FauxNews, Ben Nelson and George Allen, R-VA were on John Gibson's Big Story discussing the closed door session of the senate. Mr. Nelson kept saying, some believe, blah blah blah, some democrats, blah blah blah, some people, blah blah blah ... believe the release of these documents were moving too slow. While George Allen was blasting the Democrat leadership as pulling a stunt, not caring about the business of the country, the release of the document was on schedule and would have been forthcoming in a timely manner, Mr Nelson is standing there subtly nodding his head in agreement. I was surprised that the wimp could even stand up since he doesn't have a spine. The memo regarding talking points sure went out fast to all the Republicans because as I watch what's going on, they are all in unison saying "political stunt and we have never been treated this way."

Gee what a surprise that republicans feel so wronged. Where are all the Democrats that should be screaming enough is enough and call out these idiots and blast them for what they are? Oh, I know. They are too afraid the Republicans will call them names and they might not get re-elected. Oh where oh where can I go with my vote?

Subject: Senator Harry Reid

Hello BuzzFlash and all BuzzFlash readers,

I just sent this excerpt of an e-mail to Senator Harry Reid of Nevada:

Re: Phase II & Rule 21 closed session

YES!!!

As the father of a soldier who was sent to Iraq, I say ABSOLUTELY HAMMER Pat Roberts and Bill Frist into submission.

After all, it's only your job to do so after more than 2,000 American soldiers have died and more than 15,000 severely wounded and debilitated . . .

It's about time you and your senate colleagues stepped up and grew spines. You have a golden opportunity here - DON'T LET UP !!!

Go get 'em, Senator Reid, and bring your colleagues. 2,000 dead is way too late, so you and your friends have a lot of making up to do.

Warmest Regards,

Subject: Closed Senate Session

The following is generalized text of the E-mail I sent out this afternoon to each and every Democratic member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence:

Dear Senators:

I would like to express WHOLE-HEARTEDLY my FULL SUPPORT for the action taken by the minority leader Harry Reid in the Senate today.

IT IS LONG past time to hold this republican administration accountable for its blatantly illegal, unconstitutional, immoral, arrogant, corrupt, incompetent, dangerous, and destructive policies, ESPECIALLY in regards to Iraq.

Crucially important concerns and questions the American people and the Democratic party have DEMANDED answers to have been willfully IGNORED for FAR too long, as BOTH houses of Congress, in most cases, domestic as well as foreign policy, have willingly refused to exercise any real oversight powers of the executive branch-abolishing any notion of the checks and balances that are supposed to keep our government HONEST.

If this is what it takes to force an open debate on the ugly facts of the REAL reasons we went to war, then so be it. AMERICANS ARE DYING EVERY DAY-AND WE DESERVE THE TRUTH, FOR ONCE. I see it as a vital first step in taking our country back from a party and an administration whose pervasive stench of corruption and absolute lust and abuse of power is running our country into the ground.

Kudos to Harry Reid. DON'T GIVE AN INCH. KEEP THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO HAMMER THEM ON THIS WAR-AND EVERY POLICY DECISION THEY HAVE ENACTED THAT HAS DAMAGED OUR NATION-RELENTLESSLY-UNAPOLOGETICALLY-WITH EVERY WEAPON AT YOUR DISPOSAL.

Thank You.

Sincerely,

Mark Fife
