The Australian news media have been reporting for several days about the new al Qaeda threat to Los Angeles and Melbourne. Government officials here have commented on it as well. Has anyone told W, and, if so, was he paying attention? Because if anything does happen to L.A. (which God forbid), I can hear him saying, "We had no idea they were targeting Los Angeles..." Jane Hawes Subject: The "Men of God" Strike Again... GLBTs and their allies won a HUGE victory with the House passage of the Hate Crimes Prevention Act. While we expected Democrats to vote for this, we should applaud the 30 Republicans who crossed party-lines to vote yes. It took a lot of courage to buck a party that would retaliate by attempting to kill their political careers. Again conservatives are on the wrong side of history, just as they were on the wrong side of everything in history since mankind evolved. The tide is turning and there is nothing the conservatives can do except complain and obstruct. Give it up already, yours is a failed agenda helping only the haves and the have mores. Yours is a faux Christian ideology that talks the Jesus talk but doesn't walk like Jesus did. Jesus never persecuted anybody and if he came close to, he didn't go after homosexuals or adulterers, his targets were the moneychangers in the temple, those who prostituted the temple in the name of PROFIT, much like how the Christian right "whores out" Christianity in the name of the Almighty Dollar. The moneychangers played the piety card by selling doves and cattle and claimed that if you wanted to please God, you had to buy the sacrificial animals from THEM. It is just like the Christian right today. They say if you want to please God, donate to their campaigns, the Christian Broadcasting Network, Operation Blessing (half of their funds go to CBN.) The Christian right always uses the religious card against Democrats who could stand up for our gay brothers and sisters but are afraid of being "un-Christian" or being asked that asinine question, "Why do you hate Christians?" It's about time the Democrats and some brave Republicans stood up to the rhetoric of hate coming out of the filthy whores of Babylon. It's about time the Christian Right be exposed for the hatemongers they are. John Conyers reports that the conservatives who supported the Child Safety Bill ended up finally opposing it because of the Hate Crimes Prevention Amendment. They SOLD OUT helpless, innocent children to further their agenda of hate. It was not worth it to protect children if gays would be protected, too, because to them, gays are "abominations" and if they were to be struck down, there would be a celebration in heaven. Many of these right-wingers probably think for every no vote counted, an angel received her wings. I am quite sure there were some who felt that the federal government shouldn't step in to help innocent children anyway. Who cares about helpless kids who should have taken the personal responsibility of protecting themselves? It's their fault if they get killed. Sound horrifying? That is the conservative of today's thought-process in a nutshell. That's why they do not want to renew VAWA (the Violence against Women Act). Government should only exist to dole out corporate welfare. Everyone should call their representatives who voted against the whole bill and ask, "Why do you hate children?" I hope our alternative media, democracy now, and BuzzFlash readers and doers can conduct our own investigation of this sh*t and publish findings in all media outlets. It is very deep evil and could be linked to the OMB A 76 Circular issued years ago that basically resulted in outsourcing and contracting out of most government functions, including military ....of course with lax if any oversight and auditing...Lie, lies, lies....just like so many critical truths that have been revealed by the people of this country that eventually finds its way in the MSM, here too we are on our own but together. FYI: the city council of Evanston, passed a resolution for withdrawal of troops from Iraq on Monday night. Today, Wednesday, the city council of Chicago did the same. If we can get the rest of the nation to follow, won't Congress finally have to do the bidding of the voters? Leslie Subject: Re: "It all comes back to Iraq" To the Editor of The Dallas Morning News: Regarding Jim Scoggins' thoughtful letter: "It all comes back to Iraq" (9-14-05). Reading the Iraq constitution finds this direct quote: "No law can be passed that contradicts the undisputed rules of Islam." Now it looks like the noble cause and ever-changing mission for which so many of our soldiers lives have been sacrificed r is to establish Iraq as a theocracy based on Islamic fundamentalism. Is this one of the good things happening in Iraq that many claim that our news media is failing to report? Kirk Muse Subject: Mailbag...9/14/05 Don Dukeman.....I think the democrats who gave bush the shirt off their backs to show unity after 911....are now realizing what a mistake they made. There are some people in this world that you cannot help, it's impossible! From the first...I suspected them all....I suspected the timing of 911, the reasoning of it, and every other thing about it. I heard things right after that....and if you watch any of the documentaries I have touted from this website....you will be able to tie it all together. The last one..."Hijacking Catastrophe"...finally ties together the Project For A New American Century...to the entire thing. I think the movie Fahrenheit 911 started us all thinking about what had really happened, did it go right over our heads....if not...why was Iraq more important than Afghanistan? You must ask yourself.....Why have we not had one color-coded alert since the election in 2004?? Why did they call off the search for WMD in Sept '04, but it was not in any paper until Feb. '05??? What the hell ever happened to the Anthrax investigation? That is one of the most troubling things...after all, didn't about 5-6 people die in that? As McDermott says in "Fah/911"......"Fear works!" You put out an alert (some were so funny I had to laugh) then sit back and watch the poor, uneducated people who believe everything Bush says, react....and react....and react! Then when they get a little relaxed....They do it again...and again! Now, from the news the last couple of days....a horrid civil war has broken out in Iraq and it may be that we can do nothing about it now....Bush may have his ass in a sling!! 170 killed today...and 560 seriously injured in car bombs. In Tal Afar? That is the little province on the border of Syria, where an American checkpoint a year ago killed an entire family...coming home from relatives!...They were going fast trying to beat the curfew that the American military had placed on them in their own country. Tal Afar speaks a different kind of Arabic language than the rest of Iraq...so no one understood their pleas! A mother, father and 2 kids were killed dead in that attack. Americans figured it as part of the fog of war....but there was an 8 month old baby who was not even weaned from his mother...and another 5 children made orphans that night. Will God have mercy on Bush's soul....Will God remember that many of us never approved of this war!!? We can only hope! It might be that the documentaries I have gotten over this time from BuzzFlash...has saved my sanity at time...because when you are surrounded by republicans...and the ones who are the worst...are the 'Moralists"...the stubborn "I am always right" ones...and they are the ones who will never admit that he did one thing wrong...without it being Clinton's fault! I have watched, "Uncovered, the truth about the war in Iraq," about weapons inspectors who found nothing, but Bush did not want to hear it. "Weapons of mass deception"...about the television coverage of this war...and how important that was...the Hollywood set designed, Qatar military post! Yes...a Hollywood set designer!... Then the last one, "Hijacking Catastrophe"! This last one troubled me, much too much...it pretty much laid to rest all the doubts any clear thinking democrat might have. The irritating way Bush gets that evil smile on his face when he is lying to you!!! The way he pleads his way out of things...for stupid reasons....Like he did not want to testify in front of the 911 commission....because he does not want the "enemy" to know "how we collect information"...he says, "that is what the enemy wants," "he terrorizes himself" etc. etc. etc...some of his drivel is not even understandable! We have allowed this maniac to get away with much too much "Enemy" blither. They do not give a royal crap how we collect information, if they are working with us!!! I tire of his speech.... "I am a war president, I make decisions in the oval office with war on my mind!"...... His obnoxious, "Bring it on" speech...a woman in Iraq at the time...in one of these videos, says...the soldiers who were around her at the time...took great umbrage at that speech, wondering who in the hell he thought he was... "Bring it on"? A very chilling introduction to the video...is as follows: "The people can always be brought to the bidding of their leaders...that is easy! All you have to do, is tell them they are being attacked, then denounce the peace makers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger! It is the same in any country!" -- Nazi Herman Goering, Nuremberg War Trials Shirley..............St. Louis Subject: Katrina Strikes, Bush Goes to Bed and Sleeps When Hurricane Katrina was about to strike, when it was at its peak force, LA Governor called Mister Bush and told him of the desperate situation and that he needed to declare a state of federal emergency, etc. So What does Bush do, who was in San Diego speaking about Iraq, etc....what does he do...HE WENT TO BED AND GOT SOME SLEEP. This needs to be hounded on. The simplistic and ignorant mind of the leader of this country, well...the supposed to be leader...WENT TO SLEEP AS A MAJOR DISASTER IN THIS NATION WAS UNFOLDING.... I am writing because another ugly fact of 2005 is that skunks like your employers are going to start gating off the internet and charging for entrance. So, unless you (hopefully) reprint your articles elsewhere, this is goodbye. I have learned a lot from you, so thanks. Your stories stay with me. Thanks. Subject: America You Don't Know Me America, you don't know me, but like that "Wise Man" said last week, "I know you." You see, for over seventy looong years I have been watching you. Laboring and languishing inside your bowels, I am seeing the results of all of your thoughts, words and misdeeds that are festering inside your belly and about to explode. Poor, black and living under wretched conditions in a most affluent part of America, I saw that nobody cared about us. You knew that I was hungry because you saw me picking through your trash cans - at four years of age. You looked out of your beautifully draped windows and watched me piling up newspapers and dirty rags inside a broken down baby carriage. You watched me and my sister struggle up the hill to the redemption center to exchange our haul for money. You saw us when we gleefully ran to the market for bread and cheese and run all the way home to my starving mother and siblings. You knew we were thirsty because sometimes I had to borrow buckets of water from you. You knew my father couldn't find work and my sweet, sweet, beautiful mother was having mental breakdowns and babies every year. Sometimes there was no heat nor electricity or gas. I could tell from a very young age that nobody cared about us because nobody came to see about us and to help us. I was able to go to classes with the children from a society that was closed to me. Because I was black, dirty and smelling unwashed, nobody wanted to sit next to me or play with me. However, when it became apparent that I was always the top student, the rich guys would bribe those who were forced to sit near me so that they could be in a position to steal my answers at test time. I got no money but I didn't care. It made me feel like a big deal. Imagine how I felt when I learned that these same guys became pillars of your society while I became a high-school dropout. I was hurt and angry. I felt used and taken advantage of. I decided to do something about it. I earned my high school diploma and went to college. After graduating magna cum laude, I went on to continue serving in the development of the Head Start program. I have had many startling revelations in my life, but none so startling as my discovery that our children are incredibly brilliant. They are being intentionally and systematically dumbed down in an attempt to turn them into toys for your use in your shenanigans. Before the advent of the Columbine era, I exposed your system very publicly in 1991. At that time I warned you that no attempts to save it would be successful. It must be totally dismantled. Our children are bright enough to be able to go directly into their particular chosen fields of endeavor upon graduation from high school. As is customary, they are still being conditioned to fail. I warned the world that "Like one tediously and tenderly examining the innards of an oyster, we must be searching for the many pearls that are lodged in the bowel of our civilization. It is my educated opinion that they will either lead us to our total destruction or to a magnificent renaissance. It all depends upon how they are treated." I also warned you that "...the storms are raging and the flood waters are rising" and that "If anyone loses, all will lose." My last words to you were that time is of the essence and that the clock is ticking. As is usual, nobody listens to me and so here we are today. I must go now, but there is so much, much more I need to say. This will be the organization's "99th Annual Scientific Assembly." His keynote address will be titled "America in the New Millennium." According to the advance program, North will be "assessing the United States' role in the world -- militarily, economically, and politically." (Afterward, attending physicians can vie for cash prizes by guessing how many mini-strokes North has suffered.) On November 11, the "3rd Annual Major General Walter John Giller Jr., MD Memorial Lecture on Military Medicine" (sic) will be given by a bioterrorism expert from Israel. On November 13, Morton Kondracke will be the featured speaker at a symposium titled "Ethical Dilemmas in the Everyday Practice of Medicine." It's about time Morton finally opened up.
