Subject: Thank God For Cindy Hello again BuzzFlash and Buzzers, I want to start by saying I can't imagine Cindy Sheehan and her family's grief at losing Casey. My heart aches for her, but I've heard that sometimes it is the crushed petals that give off the most scent. It is truly tragic that Cindy lost her beloved son, which makes me appreciate her and her message all the more. In her grief, Cindy is bringing issues to the table that have seriously bothered several million of us for some time but felt we couldn't make heard. It doesn't look as if Cindy will ever get her 1 hour interview with Bush, but her vigil will not have been for nothing. She is finally giving so many a voice which had previously felt silenced, AND she is showing Bush's true colors in a way no investigation EVER could have. The world watched as Bush literally left a grief-stricken mother, who was only asking for one hour of his time and some honest dialogue, in a hot Texas ditch while he avoided her to go romping off to some fundraiser and raised two million dollars. If anyone had any doubts before, we now all KNOW just where Bush's values are, and it isn't with the Family. Thanks again BuzzFlash and thank you Cindy Sheehan and family for your courage, bravery, gentle persistence, honor to truth and true values. Thank you for showing the rest of the world how at least fifty-two million Americans feel. Dominie K. Robinson Subject: More powerful bombs are an alarming development in Iraq. Right before the presidential election, the New York Times ran a story on how the US failed to secure explosives at the beginning of the war. I wonder, can this escalation of violence be connected to that? Is anyone looking into that now? Beth Martin Subject: Bush and the Drive-by today i read on the yahoo headlines about bush driving right by cindy sheehan and the other protestors on his way to a republican fundraiser. as part of yahoo news, there is a place for comments on their news stories, so, since i wanted to know what folks were saying about this situation, i started reading feedback. now, i am no prude when it comes to language. i've been known to turn the air blue on occasion myself, particularly when discussing GWB. but the comments made by republicans on the yahoo board talking about cindy sheehan horrified me. they called her every filthy name they could think of, calling her the names weak men call strong women, making cruel references to her age and her looks and implying that her grief for her son is fake and simply a democratic media stunt and how wonderful george bush is and how right he is to completely ignore her. this told me everything i need to know about the republicans. if anyone dares to stand up to them, the rage and the hatred and the poison just comes gushing out, like poking a pin in rush's pilonidal cyst. bush's only answer to ms. sheehan was to repeat again his tired, lame excuses for leaving our troops in iraq indefinitely, saying to pull the troops out would be to give the world a bad message. he wants to talk about giving the world a bad message? here's a bad message: being too cowardly, weak, stupid, and arrogant to stop for 5 minutes and talk to a grieving mother of one of the soldiers he killed, since he was driving right past her anyway. now THERE'S a bad message. A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Don't Forget the First Relatives Bush Dodged: The Jersey Girls Dear BuzzFlash,
Jim P. Subject: Priorities Bu$h can't spare time from his vacation to meet a grieving but very courageous mother, CINDY SHEEHAN, but did find time for a fund raising event ...where are his priorities? Bu$h claims he has met with the families of those that have been killed in his greedy and illegal war... according to official records, around 270 families out of almost 2000 killed ... a good percentage? Just asking. Bu$h claims that his heart aches for every soldier's death, suuuuuuure ... and there are some that believe in fairies. Jocelyn Subject: War Criminals ALL 2004 Bush voters are vicariously guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity through their elective ratification and will eventually be brought to justice one way or another. Will Wyche Subject: Observations NARAL pulled their ad after only a little hell was raised. The Swifties not only did not pull their lying ads, but paid for more air time and Kerry hate messages. This is why they always prevail. They do not kow tow to the democrats. CNN did their best to subtly discredit Mrs. Sheehan today. Blitzer said bush could have invited her in for a glass of tea but she chose to enlist the aid of progressive groups such as MOVE ON.ORG, thus destroying any chance of a meeting with him. Blitzer said she had made it political, and bush would not respond to her because of this. Bush and rove do nothing unless it's political. He then held an interview with a crying mother who also had lost her son in Iraq and still supports bush and said she will to the end. ANYONE NOTICE HOW BLITZER HAS PRACTICALLY TAKEN OVER AT CNN? Everyone on air, Fox, CNN, MSNBC, and most of the time now, C-SPAN, seems to be just another spokesman for the bushite position. Lawton Watson Subject: Supporting the troops: "An X-Box would be nice" Dear Buzz: Most people I know support the troops by sporting a yellow ribbon decal on their car. I thought sending a book or letter or pair of socks might be more practical. So I went to http://anysoldier.com/WhereToSend/ A lot of soldiers ask for personal hygiene products, games, and "snacks." Some also, to my surprise, ask for X-Boxes and DVD players for use in their "down" time. Then I saw this article today in the NY Times, with photos of military PX's on some of what I guess will be our permanent bases in Iraq: GI's Deployed in Iraq Desert with Lots of American Stuff (nytimes.com) Holy cow! Shelves and shelves full of merchandise: TVs, VCRs, DVD players, books, magazines and furniture--even jewelry. All for sale to our troops, just like in the states. Here's my question: Why are some soldiers pleading for us to send deodorant, baby wipes, and beef jerky (items commonly requested on Anysoldier.com), while others can buy a $2,000 TV from PX on base right there in the desert? Here's another: These bases have been constructed and equipped remarkably quickly (they have air conditioning, large dining halls with a wide variety of food, and fully-stocked PX's for "shopping," while the citizens of Iraq, whose cities we've bombed, have yet to see adequate electricity. Apparently we can ship over crates and crates and crates of expensive merchandise to SELL to our troops but can't provide them with adequate battle armor! I am very conflicted over this. Perhaps, when we leave Iraq (2010? 2020?), we might offer them these permanent military bases. (For sale, of course. You don't think we'd actually GIVE them away!!) Who knows? They might still be having problems with electricity by then, and it would be some small compensation for, say, the operation where we levelled Fallujah ... Just a thought. Sick of war and the shopping mentality, and wondering who we really are anymore. A Disillusioned BuzzFlash Reader Subject: An odd conversation with a Democratic Headquarters guy I made a call to the DNC to ask what they were doing to stop the Republicans from stealing another election. I was transferred to the dept that is working on this problem ... or so this guy said. I asked if they were going to file some sort of lawsuit against Diebold, if they would find a way to audit elections, have good exit polling etc., paper ballots. This was his answer. He said they were going to have voter education programs. (Educate us for what? How will that keep the GOP from stealing elections?) And they were going to introduce legislation blah, blah, blah. And how is this going to get passed? I started to question him further and he got rude. I then said he sounded like a Republican ... And he said, "Better yet"!!!!!!!! Then he hung up on me. Better yet? And just what Democrat would answer like that????? Is this a GOP operative planted in the Democratic Headquarters? Or don't they care? I think all Democratic headquarters employees should be subjected to intense background checks and a lie detector test before being employed there. There are a lot of Democratic politicians and party people who seem like Democrat traitors to me. It is the only explanation for all this wussy behavior. Can't do that ... why not? and then they give some rinky dink excuse and crawl into a corner and apologize for thinking thoughts that contradict the bushy position. I am sick and tired of these crooks in the Democratic party. It is time for a purge. No guts ... get out. We need people who are committed, not cowards. John Kerry, you had your chance. Step up big time or get out of the way. Hillary, same thing. This is war. A war for our democracy and it is no time for wishy-washy cowards. We need more Cindy Sheehans and Barbara Boxers and John Conyers. No more Donna Brazilles, or that Shrum idiot, or Joe Biden of MBNA playing nice with all the GOP traitors or Joe Liebermans. Bill Clinton, we loved you, but now ... get off that kissing up! to that Poppy Bush. He was as corrupt as his son. No more Mr. and Ms. nice guys. Time to take the blinders off and get smart and tough. Howard Dean was a good start. But who are these people in the background sabotaging his attempts to give the Party a backbone? BuzzFlash Addict Subject: war president morning buzz. george can't visit with cindy 'cause he's busy working on a new "noble" deal. from this morning's bbc online in reference to iran (the nuclear threat ending in an "N") ...
saddle up the posse guys and gals ... here we go again ... all those darn options ... he's a war president ... he don't need no darn options ... tom coombs Subject: Recruit Ads Urge Parents To Let Kids Go--Into Army Thanks for this morning's link to a Chicago Tribune article: "Recruit ads urge parents to let kids go--into Army. TV campaign hopes to win over skeptical moms and dads in time of war" By Jason George, 8/13/05. Reminds me of the time when I signed up in 1965: Recruiters told me I could choose my "Career Field." When checking into it, I found (oh memory, don't fail me now) there were 5 Career Fields, one of which was Transportation; that Field included wheelbarrows to C-141's. I still hear about others who were misled and outright lied to when investigating the Military. Used to be they got 'em young, else they'd develop some critical thinking skills and couldn't be fooled; now I guess they figure there are enough parents out there who can be fooled and lied to ... An old friend always asks of these pseudo-patriot-republicans, "Why lie when the truth will serve you best?" That fits the current PNAC regime in WA DC to a "tee." Bill Darbyshire Subject: Bin Laden After reading the transcripts of the 911 emergency communications, I am more angry than ever with this administration and their war in Iraq. If this one question could be answered, I think all other questions would be answered as well: Why is bin Laden still alive? Sincerely, Bob Antonucci Subject: Bob Schieffer Didn't YOU know that Bob Schieffer is a BTBBK= Big Time Bush Butt Kisser....that's why he landed Dan Rather's old job- a 'Placation' from CBS to the Bush clan for the sins of Dan. NO WAY is that old Buzzard going to refute anything Bush does or says....give me a break. His Anchor ratings are in the TANK-no one is watching him on the evening scoop. They replaced one old guy with another old guy....They probably couldn't find a YOUNG BTBBK -I rest my case. Margaret Miller Subject: Cindy has 3 other children to sacrifice in her effort to get an audience with King George. August 13, 2005 King George, I do see your point with this woman in the ditch; she has taken a very sharp left turn into unpatriotism. She doesn't seem to understand that you are a busy man. This Karl Rove thing could turn really bad, you need all the money you can get and hell, she has 3 other children. Somehow you must get it over to this woman that if people hadn't been so squeamish about attacking Iraq it wouldn't have been necessary to push the WMD and the Iraqi connection to 9/11 scenario. The only reason these people should have needed was that Iraq sits on the 2nd largest oil reserve in the world and you want it. Some people just can't seem to grasp the idea that the Bush twins can never have enough money. Cindy does not understand how much designer wardrobes cost. She needs to pony up a couple hundred thousand to elect more people who aren't going to send their kids or maybe she could get that 20 year old son to die for the Bush Family Values. George, at that fund-raiser did tell them what un-patriotic wusses they are because their children and grand-children aren't signing up to die for your twins or for their own bottom line. I noticed there are nearly 1,000 Bush pioneers and rangers. Are any of their blood-lines over there? In closing, I fully understand why you can't talk to her. Pushy mothers who think there should be good reasons to send their children to die aren't worth your time. You could send Laura and she could tell Cindy she understands her pain, but her daughters are much more worthwhile than Casey and that getting Saddam is worth as many young lives as it takes. She can explain why you can't ever admit it was a mistake because you don't make mistakes. Or you could send the twins to tell Cindy thank you for sending Casey, the patriotic, so they, the un-patriotic, can stay here and disco till the cows come home. You just can't have enough flag-draped transfer tubes or enough dead Iraqis/collateral damage. We will stay the course no matter what sacrifices are necessary. Karen Webb Subject: Iran and Bush Just heard on BBC World news tonight at 1:30 a.m. that-- "Bush has not ruled out the use of force against Iran..." This was stated several times, saying "he was speaking on Israeli television." Funny, that's what he's doing on his taxpayer-paid vacation? Speaking to the people of Israel on Israeli television? How about doing more than one photo-op to the people of America, George? Gosh, no wonder we have to get our news from the foreign papers and the internet, when our own President goes to fund-raisers in secret places with secret people on his vacation or makes "day-trips" across the entire United States, then talks to the people of Israel on the TV on his vacation and who knows what other countries because it is all so secret. Yet, he ignores an American mother who lost her son while Rove sends his minions in the US press to smear her. But then they all continue to have another catered vacation with his main friends, some cabinet ... but always Condi, everywhere, no matter what her title or position. By the way, where is Rove now? Whatever, all this makes me think about the days when the other Republicans like Ike just played golf. Nixon walked on the beach for a while. Ford played golf, too, and Reagan rode horses with his beloved Nancy on his vacation. Good lord, what has happened to our country? I guess they are down here plotting to go to Iran next, maybe. A Buzz Reader in TX Subject: Open Letter to Michelle Malkin Miss Malkin, Have you ever actually sided with anyone who ever made a comment you deem negative toward Mr. Bush? What is in your soul that makes you flay someone like Mrs. Sheehan and then grind her bones under your heel? In fact, you do everything, including pretending to speak for a dead Casey Sheehan, to deflect attention from her very legitimate issues with the President. Everything you say appears to be the White House line. Everything. One would think of you as Karl Rove's little shadow. Shadows have no souls, do they? Otherwise, the ugly words which you spit out, with full intention of hurting a woman who hurts more than you could ever imagine, would be stuck in your throat. Mrs. Sheehan's son, whose name pResident Bush cannot manage to unstick from his throat, gave his life doing what his Commander in Chief ordered him to do. It is really, really easy for two people, such as you and Mr. O'Reilly, to sit back and spin Casey's mom negatively because there is absolutely no danger whatever of either one of you parasites dying for your country. None whatsoever. And your fabulous leaders share that same safety. Indeed, Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney went out of their way to avoid a fate like Casey Sheehan's. So, go ahead, Michelle, mock Cindy, hell mock me, and continue to support this ongoing slaughter of thousands of innocents. You are totally on the wrong side of the moral issue here and I honestly, in my heart, believe that you and your ilk are out to destroy my country, my way of life, and you all are the true purveyors of treason here. As the pervert, Bill O'Reilly might say, that's my opinion. Have you noticed, by any chance, that what is in one's soul eventually is reflected in one's face? Jack Pryor Subject: Leaving Iraq Why has no one noticed that if Bush pulls any troops out of Iraq in 2006, he will be doing so before the mid-term elections? Coincidence? I think not. A BuzzFlash Reader [BuzzFlash Note: Frank Rich and others are commenting on this "coincidence."] Subject: To my American Civilian Family, Fifty years ago I volunteered and served in the military in Europe during the height of the Cold War. I entered the service willingly to serve my country in the defense of our liberty, your freedom, this democracy, and to fight for a noble cause—against the threatening plague of communism around the world. Yes, I was idealistic, with the same ideals young soldiers fighting today in Iraq to make the world a little safer and more secure from international terrorism. Little has changed these past five decades except the face of the enemy. Soldiers then are like the soldiers now, heroic and brave, following orders unquestionably and simply doing their duty as they have done in all wars since the American Revolution. My specialty was the maintenance and care of atomic weapons and preparing aircraft for their delivery to classified targets behind the Iron Curtain. We were instructed that if war broke out, our base would be a primary target for destruction by the U.S.S.R. and yet we went about our duty. The military code then as it is now prescribes one to die for one's country if needed, an unchanging vow willfully taken by every draftee and volunteer as he/she enters service. During the Hungarian Revolt, President Eisenhower was on the verge of bombing I.C.B.M. sites and air bases in Russia until the revolt suddenly failed and we then knew that it was too late to react. In this time no one slept, everyone was on high alert, and were ready for anything Washington had to offer. If war was imminent we knew we couldn't escape, technically aware of the scope and devastation of multiple atomic/hydrogen bursts and radioactive fallout. And yet we were idealists—young, patriotic, and gung ho, as we all used to say. Not unlike those who are serving and sacrificing in Iraq today. Then, we were under the respectful command of an experienced Commander-in-Chief whose veteran administration orchestrated a warranted conflict to rid the world of tyranny that enslaved half of Europe and threatened the rest of it. On this premise we had comfort in our idealism. The Cold War defined our mission. Our plan was clear; the objective was in plain sight; communism had to be stopped. Since then, war has become indefinable and blurred with indistinguishable goals and questionable motives, and yet our military remains faithful to its original charter to be loyal to the Commander-in-Chief, even when presumed logic and moral clarity fails. For our society to prevail, our servicemen will continue to serve the country duty bound, without questioning the mission given them. But it is then our honor-bound duty as civilians to question the warrants for any conflict that places such valor in harms way. If we abrogate such a responsibility then we abdicate our role as guardians for those we send out to ensure and preserve the security of America. The hope of the world, like it was 50 years ago, may still lie with our military might, but the wisdom of using it lies precariously with the civilian leadership we select. It must be our mandate to give them the best and noblest of all governments, to keep them safe, and to selflessly honor their ultimate sacrifices in their duty to the nation. The choices we make determine our destiny. James D. Cook Subject: Sat. Buzz Headline Story: Bush hints at military option for Iran Oh, BLEEP. (Expletive deleted). Of course, you're right. I've been predicting this all along. Sometimes I feel like Cassandra -- the Greek mythology mortal who, after being screwed by Zeus, was granted (as recompense) the power of prophecy. The "rule," for Greek gods at least, was that no other god/goddess could undo a gift bestowed by another god/goddess. But he/she could raise complications. So Hera, Zeus' jealous (for good reason!) wife, modified Cassandra's gift from Zeus -- by declaring that, even though Cassandra's prophesies were right on target, NO ONE WOULD BELIEVE HER PREDICTIONS. Sometimes I feel that I, many other Buzz Mailbag contributors, BuzzFlash itself, and other progressive sites -- all of which have been predicting a neocon-predetermined war on Iran for several months, at least -- are ALL Cassandras. This administration won't listen to ANY of us. (Slight digression: the photo of the Chimp, Rummy, and Condi sunning themselves on the "faux ranch" -- while Chimpy remains "too busy" to meet with Cindy Sheehan, whose son he sent to death for...well WHAT for? Answer: Zip. (As I wrote last week, CINDY -- and those of us who support her cause -- are giving her son Casey's life the meaning denied by this administration.) The Iranian "war on terror" (HAHA) has been in the works/plans of this bunch almost as long as the pre-9/11 (which they allowed to happen) Iraqi war was. What's next? Another terrorist attack -- maybe on one of the unprotected seaports in NJ, which anyone with a brain knows are vulnerable to attack -- including one staged by the neocons? Great excuse for declaring/extending the pseudo "war on terror" into Iran. (Of course, the fact that Iran has lots of oil and offers more opportunities for Halliburton and its ilk to rip off more billions via contracts for which they're not held accountable, is just peripheral. Again, HAHA.) OK, now down to business. Who is going to fight THIS war??? Our troops are already overextended in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also under armed and left hanging out to dry. Are we facing a new draft? (Having lost several classmates and friends -- the ones who either didn't choose or didn't get scholarships to college -- in the Vietnam fiasco, I have a deep sense of dread.) Another concern: how are we going to PAY for this misadventure? (My suspicion: by gutting, if not entirely eliminating, ALL spending on -- so-called (by the neocons) "entitlement programs" here at home. That includes Medicaid, Medicare, public education, and, yes, Social Security benefits, including those seniors who are already receiving them. (The Chimp is totally pissed off that his SS privatization program has flopped among both Democrats and Republicans. But Chimpy is a spoiled brat -- and when he's foiled, he finds a way to retaliate. I'm afraid this might actually turn out to be the way.) Think about it: the neocons want war. The religious right wants to brainwash current public school students by forcing them into a privatized educational system. The Chimp wants revenge for his slipping polls. Invading Iran -- thereby sucking up all available funds for domestic spending -- would suit all three entities just fine. Well, that's why I brought up Cassandra. Those of us (who read Buzz and other progressive sites) see, all too clearly, what's in the works. But how can we stop it from happening? Can we trust Congress to REFUSE to declare yet another senseless war? Unlikely. They've all been politically castrated (and I'm referring to BOTH parties here.) So what's the next step? We'd better unite and come up with a game plan pretty fast. As I keep saying (it's become my mantra), "THESE PEOPLE WILL STOP AT NOTHING." But hubris (another Greek mythology concept) usually defeats the person -- or administration -- who practices it. In Judeo-Christian terms, "Pride goeth before the fall." Let's hope the fall cometh before it's too late to save what's left of our democracy. Barb in Athens, GA Subject: "All Options On The Table???? Uh Oh! Where have I heard that before? Why it was from King George and his NEOCON Court, the non-nation builder, {so he said} who left a job undone in Afghanistan, and went on to a country NOT an Imminent threat taking $700,000 in funds ear marked by Congress, but NOT FOR IRAQ! Now the "Emperor with no clothes," said, "All options on the table! AGAIN! Does King Georgie think we swallowed his dumb pills and will once again swallow them? Does the world's least respected bully want to move on to another country to expand his NeoCon Empire? Are your children and grandchildren ready to die for his folly and his legacy? Is the world ready to accept another country destroyed along with their homes and children? Not on our lives, and I mean that literally!!! What other options are on the table? Justice Sunday, where big-mouth religious Zealots of all breeds will interfere in the government and try to explain to us they and George are privy to God's thinking and they know what "GOD" wants and we should follow them. NOT IN A PIG'S EYE! What other pretty pictures does the Bush/Rove political Machine want you to see? A memorial on September 11th to be reminded of our great??? War President? However, The Taliban is back in Afghanistan and now more have died than in the previous 4 years? Were the Taliban ever really defeated or did they go underground to come back with a vengeance now? Meanwhile al-Zawahari is making tapes, Osama is safe. Let's all memorialize our government's leaving the job undone! This is not a good memorial for 3000 deaths sacrificed! Insurgents in Iraq doubled their attacks. Utilities are still not available to any large degree. Meanwhile, the non-interfering U.S. sends officials over every day to bang on Iraqi heads to get the Constitution written so Georgie can say we are making progress. Money from Neocons pours in for chosen Iraqis under covert organization names that will represent the Bush viewpoint. Terrorism is on the rise all over the world and fighting them "there" now includes London and many other places. Have another dumb pill, America! It's time we all get out of denial, take a "smart pill" and IMPEACH BUSH! If there is any justice at all, we can indict many others Rove, Cheney, in the "TreasonGate" debacle! Susan Carr Subject: Cindy puts W. in deep, deep shame That is, she would, had the man possessed a capacity to experience shame. But he doesn't -- neither, it seems, do other members of his family and his cabinet. This is no surprise, of course. For a psychopathic individual, "totally disconnected from humanity and reality" (you go, Cindy!) shame is an unknown feeling, reserved for weaklings and "girly men." However, it is obvious to the whole world that this man and his cronies have no conscience. It is a matter of time before the decent and righteous people like Cindy prevail. Lies and manipulations have a way to catch up with even the most skillful psychopaths, no matter what positions of power they occupy. W.'s time will come too. Unfortunately, not soon enough for Cindy and too many others who lost their lives or their loved ones in this insane, evil venture. In the mean time, the whole world can plainly see this supposedly most powerful leader of the greatest nation on Earth scuttling cowardly past a lone, anguished mother of a killed son. Despite his lofty pronouncements about the importance of his mission, nobility of the sacrifice and other propagandist crap, he does not have guts or enough human decency to stop and acknowledge -- truly, personally acknowledge, as a normal human being would -- her pain and answer her few simple questions. He is too afraid to grant her even a moment of his vacation time ... The message of this situation is so beautifully clear to all who have their eyes open to see it. To use the language W's fundamentalist base can grasp, this is how evil runs and hides when confronted with decency and truth -- cowardly, in fear of being exposed for what it really is. But it's too late for W to hide. No amount of frothing and spitting of invectives from his right-wing supporters can cover the obvious fact that W is one conscience-less coward. Thank you, Cindy. Normal Life Ended for Protesting Mother (AP/Yahoo) Elizabeth Subject: Chemicals Supposedly Found In Iraq Well, I guess this is what the meeting in Crawford produced. Another fabrication for the American public to believe, a prisoner, under interrogation told them of a site to search. My my, just when the public morale is falling and also the polls. So, this is all they could come up with at that meeting. Alleged chemical weapons factory uncovered in Iraq (Washington Post/Boston Globe) Sandi Subject: 'White Rose' to return to Crawford Dear All, If you can't go to Crawford yourself, here's a way to support Cindy Sheehan. The "White Rose" is a Veterans For Peace bus operated by Pat Tate out of Willits, Mendocino County, California. Pat and the bus will be returning soon to Crawford where he delivered Cindy a week ago from the Dallas convention of the VFP. As you all very well know, the price of gasoline is getting more and more outrageous despite the supply being "liberated" from Iraq. If you'd like to make a contribution toward fuel for the "White Rose," please contact Pat Tate at his e-address below. Tom Cahill Subject: Sheehan Sun Stroke "We Don't Have to Be Angry Anymore Day 7" (dailykos) Excuse me Cindy, but since we have given you the robe of the common man to wear for all of us, don't say any more stupid s**t like this on our behalf, OK? Check with us first, babe. Laura didn't accept your invitation to brownies and lemonade. Had you Alice B. Toklas in mind? Yes, we have to continue to be angry, Cindy, not just for your child, but for all children who have been lost on all sides in this calculated suffering. I say calculated, because the administration intends to stay in Iraq and use it as a vanguard to launch war on Iran, Syria and Saudi Arabia. There is no exit strategy because they never had any intention of leaving. Get it? Your son's life means much to you, understandably. But it's about time you really stopped separating out beloved trees and looked at the whole forest. We have every reason to be more angry with every day that passes. Maybe Karl Rove is getting to you? Don't go soft on us now. Richard Mann [BuzzFlash Note: We think Cindy is saying our anger is a sign of frustration. Now, she feels empowered, not frustrated, since she has taken action: "I was thinking that there is no reason for us progressive liberals to be angry anymore. We have the power. One mom has shown that we can be the change in our government. We deserve to hold George Bush accountable, no one else does. We have to make sure he answers to us. If he doesn't have to answer to Congress, or the media, we will FORCE him to answer to us." Transform the anger to power.] Subject: Anthrax Whatever happened to the Anthrax investigations? Remember how the fear of WMDs were used to sell the war? Am I the only one wondering who was responsible for those convenient attacks?
