Subject: Opening Move

Isn't it obvious? It's a failure, taking on this fascist coup one item at a time. Already the list of what needs to be done is beyond our coping capacity. These been there, done that strategies simply don't work; never did, really. The proof is that we the people are still powerless Face it, the hang in there and grind it out approaches aren't getting the troops home, let alone changing the world.

Yet we can't give up. Survival demands action on our part; beyond the periodic rallies and marches which seem to have become our staple, more symbolic than effective in turning on the engine of progress What'll do it? What won't do it for us is easier and that's pulling another few thousand folks out into the streets in some special show of solidarity with the many poor victims of our way of life. That'll crank the old model T & maybe get a few knocks out of its motor but won't turn it on and, afterwards, back to same old, same old again. So even if we struggle, struggle, struggle and draw hugh crowds on, say September 24 - as to the potential impact of said event - the same as for the last, plus or minus a few degrees and percentages.

Unless there's something added to the mix, such as a jumpstart. What might such be? Here's one suggestion. At the conclusion of the anti-war march, September 23 in Washington D.C. the following announcement is made

"It has been suggested that stopping the Iraq war and changing the world, that we can't do the one without the other; that both outcomes are the responsibility of all of us together and that our opening move is for each of us (beginning at sundown on September 30 and continuing nightly, thereafter) to participate in a huge global anti-war vigil; everyone to gather outside their homes for an hour or so to demand that the war be stopped and the troops be brought home. The vigil is to continue nightly until our goal is achieved - 'Satellite photos today estimated that more than four billion people are participating in tonight's vigil. Looks like the powers that be are in serious trouble. Won't be long now.'"

How does stopping the war change the world? - "Ho, ho, so that's how we get of, for and by the people."

Subject: Watch Out, Empire

That's why, as soon as there's a popular movement, let alone a revolution, empires (or tyrants) go bananas. "Squash that and them right now or else! Can't let the slaves realize their strength and get a taste of power!" There's an urgency to it, too. Why in Haiti Napoleon threw fifteen-twenty thousand of France's best and brightest against circa two hundred and fifty thousand self-liberating African slaves. He must have known freedom was contagious. Didn't do him any good. He lost.

Which brings us to the present. Unfortunately, Haitians never have had the opportunity to partake of the wonders and benefits from their glorious victory two centuries ago. The slave owners never accepted their defeat and they're still at it, trying to put chains back on and, in the latest, aborting a moment of self-government in Haiti.

What's empire-USA's interest in Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere? A visitor there, several decades ago, saw the streets filled with pot-bellied (from starvation) children; coming in from the airport women were seen carrying large vases of water balanced on their heads, the walls outside foreign embassies were twenty foot high with vicious jumping & barking dogs inside awaiting anyone foolish enough to try to break in &, maybe, cop a slice of bread and, if anything, it's much worse in Haiti now considering what's been brought down on that island by empire-USA, now assisted by the United Nations.

So materially speaking it's not stretching to say that empire-USA gains little or nothing from controlling the Haitian people. Why do we do it, then? Why take away the people's precious and hard-earned gains? Considering what's going on in America now, with all the take backs, outsourcing and such, isn't the answer clear - the slave owner is everywhere, trying to slip his damn chains on each of us.

If we break loose that means we've experienced and learned so much and are so capable that we might even try to build our own world; hence, the danger of the good example. Properly so!

Subject: Ditto: another blip on the radar screen

Thanks to the Buzzer who headed the letter like this. I too, think this is another blip, and it too shall pass.  I hate being that pessimistic, but experience has taught me well. Nothing sticks to this administration!

What is worse than finding out that the war in Iraq was planned even before Bush "squatted"? Thanks to another buzzer for that word ... We know that he used those 16 words, to bring us all in line ... if you look at the man while he was speaking those words ... you can tell without a doubt that he is lying! It was with so much less conviction than "I did not have sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky, I never asked anyone to lie! (sixteen words ... that killed the greatest president in my time) ... but, not Jerkass Bush. Clinton was believable with his 16 words ... Bush was never believable with his ... almost everything in that speech was a lie!

And, we must all remember, that there are enough dishonest republicans in Washington to discredit Wilson and his wife ... he says he was sent by the administration ... they say his wife suggested that the CIA send him!! ... Well, what about what Clarke says ... all they wanted was for him to come back with news that Iraq had weapons ... and he did not either ... sooooo who you gonna believe?  But, the fact remains ... that if Bush protects Rove ... and they all gang up on Wilson and his wife ... and make them to be liars ... that is what it will be!

Aw ... crap folks ... just please go back and get your copy of Fahrenheit 911 ... or rent it, and look at it carefully! Nothing is more telling, evil, chilling or truthful than that movie, and I care not that it is told from one point of view ... that to some might mean propaganda ... it was more truth than fiction! It was fact-checked by 12 lawyers ... and Moore himself offered a ten thousand dollar reward for anyone who could find and prove a lie.

I think everything Bush has done since he "Squatted" has been for the betterment of the Bush Alliance!

Subject: OPEN LETTER TO DAVID GREGORY, NBC NEWS

Dear Mr. Gregory:

You did a great job hosting Hardball on July 14th, but I was struck by the mendacity of Bruce Sanford, the so-called legal expert on the IIPA [Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982]. Obviously sent by the Bush administration and/or the RNC to stamp out the fire, he tried to say that the act applies only to agents based abroad. Nowhere in the act does it make that distinction. In fact, it is silent as to the agent's physical location. I note you questioned him on that point several times, but he wouldn't budge. That really takes balls, you know? I don't think you caught his furtive looks and sidelong glances. Check the videotape. His body language says it all. At the end he smirked for the camera, apparently believing he had pulled a fast one on you. Fat chance!

It must be frustrating for you to sit there and have someone "disassemble" to your face when to challenge him more forcefully will bring the wraiths of the right-wing down on your head with the combined weight of Mars, Saturn, and Venus -- all with the intent of shredding your considerable reputation and making you persona non grata in the media community as well as the hallowed halls of Congress.

There is truly a cover up of monumental proportions going on. John Dean has it right: Worse than Watergate! Cooper's attorney also has it right: It is clearly a very, very serious breach of national security (and I bet we don't know the half of it yet). The White House is obviously extremely nervous about Fitzgerald's findings. A reading of my crystal ball tells me that the results will far surpass anyone's expectations in scope and breadth. These co-conspirators are...unreal.

Again, great job! Give David Corn, Terry Moran, et al., an attaboy from me for pushing Chummy McShark-bait's buttons during the daily press briefings. Keep it up! Rome wasn't built in a day. Maybe we can at least slow BushCorp down while we wait for the indictments to come out.

Sincerely,

Subject: Why don't the terrorists attack us here?

We obviously have wide open borders. If anyone thinks we don't have terrorists in-country they're in deep denial. I think George W. Bush's war on terror is the best thing that has happen to swell terrorist ranks. By attacking Spain and London and elsewhere they are creating a rift between Europe and the US. Soon we will be almost completely isolated as the world rejects this administration's policies and antics. Already there is a growing schism between other countries on our very own continent and ourselves.

The terrorists might be winning this war so far. While our military personnel suffer and recruitment numbers tumble and our troops are spread out too thin the terrorists are multiplying by leaps and bounds. Every time Bush catapults the propaganda, he might as well be the ideal poster boy for terrorist recruitment.

It's an unfortunate fact that our nation is built on the jingoistic culture of 'kick ass'. Rove is the king of kick ass and his minions are Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, Coulter, O'Reilly and other right wing babbling hate spewing enablers. Their message is hate, hate and more hate against everyone and everything they don't like. In the short span of 5 years a large part of our most vociferous population are regularly engaged in screaming matches that are destroying any inkling of respect towards our fellow countrymen. Maybe the one who screams the loudest wins? Who knows. Why wouldn't the terrorists be laughing at us and enjoying the spectacle of our country fighting with itself like some insane dysfunctional family.

Why should they bother to attack us here? Rove's minions are doing a great work spreading anger and hate and they are doing a bang up job of it too. All the terrorists need to do is bide their time while Bush recruits for them. And they can watch our country as it is rejected from without and destroyed from within.

Q Did the President get his news yesterday about Justice Rehnquist's health from media reports?

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, Andy Card and I did, and Andy Card and I informed the President in the Oval Office yesterday, shortly after the news reports came out. I think that that was the case previously, when the Chief Justice went into the hospital, we didn't have any advance notification either.

Q So why is it acceptable for him to base his information about the Chief Justice's health on news reports, but not about an investigation within the West Wing? What's the distinction there?

MR. McCLELLAN: Oh, I think there's a lot of distinctions there. This is relating to an ongoing criminal investigation. There are clear distinctions in that. That's a nice try to get us to discuss an ongoing investigation, but I think we need to let that investigation continue.

Subject: MUST-SEE: FINEMAN ON MEDIA HUNT OF ROVE

Take my word, there has been a lot of soul searching in the so-called Main Stream Media (MSM) over its performance, or lack of performance, in the months leading up to the American-led ouster of Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq. Specifically, did we replace what should have been professional skepticism with a certain mindless credulousness in assessing the reality of the Bush administration’s claims of imminent danger to the country and the world from Saddam’s supposedly vast stash of weapons of mass destruction, including—only months away, it was said—the nuclear kind? If we failed, was it out of a misplaced sense of patriotic duty, or political cowardice or sheer incompetence—or all three? The press corps was spring-loaded with self-doubt over the WMD issue, and ready to snap over any story that would allow it to revisit what now looks to have been a massive—and embarrassingly successful, from the press’s point of view—propaganda campaign.

Explosive Rove Reaction: It's not surprising that the media is so ferociously pursuing the truth about Karl Rove's role in the outing of a CIA operative. (Fineman/Newsweek)

Subject: Rove/GOP talking points

Allow me to sum it up for the GOP cacophony.

It doesn't matter what Joseph Wilson said or did or didn't say or didn't do. It doesn't matter who did or didn't send him to Niger. It doesn't matter if there was uranium or there was no uranium. It doesn't matter if Karl Rove used her name or didn't use her name or if he committed any crime. It doesn't matter if Matt Cooper called Karl Rove or if Karl Rove called Matt Cooper. It doesn't matter if Wilson's wife was currently a covert operative or not currently a covert operative.

Valerie Plame served overseas (Iraq) as a NOC (undercover agent) specializing in WMDs. When Karl Rove (and possibly others) leaked and Bob Novak published her name and job title, they compromised American security and intelligence by outing every agent that worked with Plame at her front company (which they also "outed"). They compromised every intelligence asset who ever worked with Plame at any time in the present or the past and forever destroyed those intelligence assets and placed their very lives in danger.

Any contacts she established in Iraq during her time there are now useless and their possible assistance in quelling the insurgency is gone. There is no amount of spin that can excuse this despicable and un-American act, and it was done as petty political payback. Simple enough?

I think it is important for people to understand the issues here, because the GOP spin machine is attempting to frame the debate as a question of the veracity of Joseph Wilson or of the question of whether or not Rove can be convicted of a crime. Neither is the pertinent issue and neither question matters.

The acts of Rove stand alone and should be judged alone and the lack of a criminal conviction would not amount to an excuse for the conduct. If it turns out that Scooter Libby or others were the other "white house sources," it is proof of a coordinated effort in this white house to commit this petty and reprehensible act. Democrats need to keep their eye on the ball here, and not get dragged down into unwinnable debates based upon the GOP talking points which I have debunked above. If the GOP can successfully drag Democrats into debating the non-issues I have discussed above, people will stop paying attention and view it as a wash. Let's get it right for once.

Subject: It's Time to Discuss THE COVER UP

We Know it was Rove.

We need to know, who the second leaker was.

We need to know how Rove, and others, got the classified information in the first place.

We need to know exactly what Rove said to the Feds.

We need to know exactly what Big Dick and Bush said to the Feds.

We need to know what Bush, and Big Dick knew about Rove being the leaker, and when did they know it?

We need to know where Big Dick is?

We need to know what actions have been taken by the Bush Regime to COVER THIS CRIME UP ...

We need to know the CIA Damage Assessment as a result of Valerie Plame being outed, and the company she worked for being outed.

We need to know how many people were killed.

We need to know the financial costs (if possible) that resulted in the outing of Plame, her company, and the others who have been compromised because of this.

We need to know who told Rove what, and when.

We need to know if BUSH and BIG DICK are involved in a MASSIVE COVER UP ...

We already have perjury, And now we have a COVERUP, a CONSPIRACY, an obstruction of justice ... the list goes on and on.

ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS:

WHO GAVE ROVE THE SECRET INFO?

WHERE IS BIG DICK?

HOW DEEP DOES THIS COVERUP GO?

Subject: Re: Joe Wilson Shares Letter with BuzzFlash, GOP Condones Treason and More

This may be one of the most frightening things we have seen out of this criminal administration ... I know ... and most of us know ... that Joe Wilson is likely telling the real truth ... but, we have people like Kit Bond ... that I know from his run in the government of Missouri, to be such a crook. They are all saying that it is political ... and it is not! This is serious ... and it is taking a back seat to the administration's lies.

All we can do now, is try to set the record straight. Doesn't the fact that Richard Clarke ... the Counterterrorism expert, almost reiterating the exact same thing ... hold any water? There are other weapons inspectors that went ... and found basically the same thing. I have even heard on television tonight ... that 'there was in fact a connection between Saddam and Niger and the trying to buy yellowcake from them" ... so far as I know, no one has ever said that ... they all tell the same story that Joseph Wilson does!

Sometimes, it all seems so futile!

Subject: Thomas L. Friedman's column 7/15/05

To the Editor:

Thomas L. Friedman says peace-loving Muslims must prevent brainwashed Sunnis from committing acts of terror, otherwise all Muslims will become tainted by their crimes.

Would Mr. Friedman argue that Roman Catholics are tainted by acts of violence of the Irish Republican Army? Would an American or Italian Catholic be duty bound to openly oppose I.R.A. terrorism? Surely not. Then why do Muslims carry an added burden of responsibility?

This is a political supposition imposed upon criminal acts. Terrorism is criminal, first and foremost. Applying a standard that depends on the ethnicity of the terrorist is contrary to basic tenets of criminal justice. It also encourages the "us against them" mentality that led us into the disaster in Iraq.

Subject: Here is a leak

Dear Buzz,

Can you help me leak the following information to our "mainstream media?" No one apparently has told them the following:

It was a dumb move for the Bush administration to take a trillion dollars which we do not have from America's poor and middle poor (after giving a huge bonus to America's most privileged) to invade a country against the wishes of our friends and allies around the world and the United Nations and make more enemies and terrorists than we ever knew existed, to avenge a small group of suicidal maniacs (none from the invaded country) who attacked us and have been dead ever since. This attack happened because we were sleep walking through the warnings while being led by an idiotic and unelected president.

The Republicans may feel that they own the administration, the Congress, the judiciary and the media, but they do not own common sense. That is certain.

Well, I had better sign my name to this in case Karl Rove wants to find another leaker.

Subject: More on Rove!

It is almost beyond belief that this corrupt Administration is once again trying to get out of their umpteenth scandal by diversion. Once again, they claim to be blameless and no one knows anything in their phony group of reprobates, except that someone else is responsible, and in the end some poor idiot will fall on his sword to protect the rest! Karl Rove lent his power to discredit Wilson’s wife by telling reporters about Valerie Plame. Has everyone forgotten the “fair game” remark by Chris Matthews to Wilson telling them it was Rove spreading misinformation, or that the night before Andrea Mitchell, also STRESSED senior officials told her the real story was not in the 16 words in the State of the Union, but in Wilson and his wife!

How many times have we seen the White House shift to the "BLAME GAME" to get attention off themselves? Later when the CIA lawyers would try to change the tenor to blame Wilson himself for revealing his wife’s identity, Wilson had an interview with Andrea Mitchell, where he answered all her questions. Mitchell AGREED to preserve the tape from that interview! To defend himself and prove the truth, he asked Mitchell for a copy of that interview, but was told NBC disallows providing transcripts of interviews in unedited versions. How convenient!

From beginning to end, this has been a well-orchestrated plan to get revenge and at the same time shift focus off someone who would reveal the Neocon true policy of the "FIX" to go to war!! In a Cabinet so close and secretive as Bush’s, they all, Bush, Cheney, Libby and Rove knew!

Subject: One Thing That I'm Sick Of ...

... i s Rove being called an "evil genius." It may be true that he's a world class liar, and all that, but without the lapdog media, he'd wouldn't have done much.

It takes 2 to lie. One to lie and another to be lied to. Simply put, it doesn't matter if he "knew her name" or why he was talking to Novak. The point is that, when a CIA operative is involved, he shouldn't be talking to anyone, at all. When the subject comes up, a red flag should pop up in his mind and he should stop talking. Period. If he weren't out for treason, he would have shut his mouth in regards to "Wilson's wife." He's not a genius, just a liar.

I want Bush out, and I want the dire national nightmare of his presidency to be over, once and for all.
