Subject: The Gannon Story Is About Sex

Sorry, I don't side with the hand-wringing liberals among us about discussing Jeff Gannon's male prostitution business. If a prostitute, male or female, was found working as a pseudo-journalist in the Clinton White House press room for two years and was given special access and favoritism, there would be no end to the uproar. One has to ask the obvious question -- was Gannon given access BECAUSE he's a prostitute? It seems to me that is the key question.

He didn't gain access for his reporting skills. And if sex was bartered for access, who was the john and who looked the other way? In a White House that claimed it was going to bring honor and dignity back to the office, these are not irrelevant questions. Prostitution is a crime. Providing state secrets and government access to a prostitute for sexual favors is a crime.

Until we find out who approved Gannon in the briefing room and why, the American people will be deprived of the truth that really matters in this story.

Subject: "fear Won Them The 2004 Election"

Rant Alert!! BuzzFlash, I love you, but kindly refrain from stating that "fear won [the Republicans] the 2004 election"(see your list of articles dated Feb. 19th).

Fear undoubtedly won the Republicans votes, but the election? Please. Have we not encountered enough evidence to justify at least the strong SUSPICION of massive fraud? Touch-screen machines and central tabulators manufactured by Republican contributors and convicted felons, the overt complicity of election officials, the impediments to Democratic voters, the intimidation of blacks and the above-average spoilage of their ballots, the disappearance of voting records, the absence of provisional and absentee ballots, the precision of exit polls everywhere EXCEPT in the crucial swing states -- all of this screams, absolute shrieks, absolutely reeks, of Rovian skullduggery, and if even we, who are in the Opposition, appear to resign ourselves to the outcome of this immensely flawed election by dispensing political explanations for it, then not only do we legitimize crime, but we rob ourselves and our allies of the indignation which produces the adrenaline for ensuring that it will never happen again.

Subject: Gannon Can Get Near President, Those Wearing Kerry T-shirts Cannot

Would somebody tell Scott McClellan that it is hardly possible that Gannon could get near the president without anyone knowing who he was, when all last year hundreds of thousands of regular Americans (those not prostitutes or fake journalists) had to swear loyalty oaths and wear Bush approved clothing to get within 2 miles of him?

Also, I am seriously concerned that JimmyJeff said that he did not have to talk to the FBI about the Plame investigation citing journalistic confidentiality rights. To which, the FBI said, "oh, right, sorry." There you have it, liberals. When you get rounded up, be sure to mention your innocence due to psychiatric or clerical privilege. Apparently you need not be one of these, but merely play one in your head. It is an airtight legal defense.

"Bush Says U.S. Won't Attack Iran. Like Anyone Believes Anything Bush Says Anymore. 2/19"

Actually, Bush never says that; only opining the US does not intend to attack Iran to crush its nuclear weapons project.

Intent is difficult to prove and Bush's statement does not rule out the US attacking Iran for other reasons, or other countries attacking Iran. Furthermore, Bush goes on to make a "never say never" comment.

Then he follows that with "I hear all these rumors about military attacks, and it's just not the truth," and for all we know Bush could be disingenuously referring to rumors about military attacks on Andorra. Or Tokelau.

"We want diplomacy to work."

Sure you do, Georgie. The question is - where?

Subject: Milbank, Dowd and Others Weigh In on Gannon/Guckert (Editor & Publisher)

According to Milbank of the Washington Post.... "The downside is the web is contributing to the decentralization of information so that people can choose their own news, and facts, based on their ideology. I can see us reaching a point where conservatives get their news exclusively from Free Republic and liberals get it from World-o-Crap, and we're living in parallel universes."

Evidently the Ohio Exit poll discrepancy story that never made it into the major media while the same story involving Kiev/Ukraine was front page news for days is what Milbank refers to as "World-o-Crap." What is most newsworthy about the Washington Post and other print media who consider themselves premier news organs is the number of stories they print directly disseminated from the WH as "news" rather than propaganda.

One only needs to look at Ken Starr's leaks to Matt Drudge and the WP's use of Drudge's "World-o-Crap" source to vilify Clinton on a daily basis for weeks or their use of WMD propaganda that came directly from the WH as justification to start a preemptive war in Iraq to understand the parallel world Milbank and other mainline media "reporters" live in. The most recent example of direct from the WH to the front pages of newspapers across the country is blaming the assassination of Hariri on Syria without one iota of proof while never considering that Israel and the Bush administration have the most to gain from Hariri's violent death.

Subject: BuzzFlash names Wolf Blitzer GOP Hypocrite of the Week (as sent to Blitzer)

Sorry, Wolf, I have to agree. What EVER happened to asking TOUGH questions of politicians and their operatives, which Gannon CLEARLY is? We have a gay male prostitute PLANTED in the White House press (even BEFORE Talon "News" began), shilling for an administration that used GAY MARRIAGE as a wedge issue? Doesn't THAT sound hypocritical? More importantly, by Robert Novak's own words, two Bush administration officials leaked that Valerie Plame was a CIA spy (OPERATIVE, not an analyst).

Gannon/Guckert KNEW this information and discussed it. WHY are you and other "journalists" [not] asking the TOUGH questions? No problem BREATHLESSLY reporting about Clinton's dick for 2 years though, RIGHT? But a TREASONOUS act was perpetrated against the USA. And you "country-club" latte-drinking SYCOPHANTS ignore it.

Because Bush's gang would CHARACTER ASSASSINATE you just like Clarke (a REAL AMERICAN PATRIOT), O'Neill, and anyone else who tells the TRUTH). And YOU would lose your million-dollar salary. REAL journalists like Murrow, Cronkite, Jimmy Breslin, and even Dan Rather (FAKE documents? MAYBE. True FACTS? Miriam Carr Knox said YES. Gannon is a FAKE reporter SHILL for the White House.) have been replaced by talking heads who sold out their JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY for money.

Geraldo Rivera was a GREAT reporter for ABC 7 in NYC 30 years ago, and now is a WHORE for Fox. Sad but true. Rupert Murdoch yellow-journalism. Washington Times and UPI owned by SUN MYUNG MOON, funding the right-wingers like Bush and Falwell, with biased heads like Tony Blankley acting as Bush cheerleaders and apologists.

SLAUGHTER in the Holy name of God. By the Islamic and Evangelical fundamentalists. Jerry Falwell wrote an article, "God is Pro-War," parsing that KILLING by the US was NOT murder, and therefore OK.

http://worldnetdaily.com/news/...

BLASPHEMING piece of GARBAGE is Falwell. God WILL remember the SLAUGHTERERS of one's fellow man, whether they be Saddam, Osama, Hitler, or Bush.

I get my news from BBC and the internet, where I can get REAL NEWS from SEVERAL perspectives, rather than the pablum of sound bites that are now the norm in the US. If you ever decide to become a journalist again (you AND the rest of your generation of "reporters"), I'd love to tune in again.

We need hard-nosed reporters protecting the public RIGHT TO KNOW, not latte-drinking TALKING POINTS readers. How about it, Wolf? God Bless America. And the REST of the world, since it WAS created by God.

Subject: Gannon/Guckert a Private life dilemma

Dear BuzzFlash:

Watching Anderson Cooper interview Jeff Gannon/Jim Guckert on Anderson Cooper Live last night was like watching TOTO pull the curtain on the Wizard of Oz.

There he was, Jim Guckert the wide-eyed FRAUD, intellectually NAKED, for all the world to see. A powerless, impotent nymph. An internet hooker once again attempting to defend his lies when just three days earlier he'd told Editor & Publisher "I talked to attorneys, and I am no longer talking to anyone [in the press] anymore." What happened to change his mind? What has happened, are his former CLIENTS hanging him out to dry?

As Anderson ripped into his prevarications he looked terrified, blinking his eyes incessantly and nervously dodging every question that could pin down his deceptions and indiscretions. His only defense was that the attacks on him were unfair because they went to his private life.

Well, we all know what a private life is; it's when you entertain friends and loved ones in your home. It's when you clean your house and wash your car or perform your daily s-s and s duties. It's when you watch a movie with your significant other. It's what you do behind the closed doors of your bedroom with consenting, unpaid adults. It's holidays with family and something as memorable as watching the kids scramble around the front yard hunting for easter eggs.

Perhaps someone, with a real private life, should tell Mr. Gannon/Guckert that when you pose nude in the front forward, spread eagle position, with your personal luggage standing at attention on an internet website designed to serve as a male for male escort service, that is not your private life.

Subject: Freeps Revoked Me. Why?

I got this message: "Your posting privilege has been revoked." Why was it revoked? Could I please have a reason? Why was my [freerepublic.com] Comment # 271 Removed by Moderator? This is what I wrote:

Why are we bending over backwards to make apologies for Guckert's crimes and lies? Because we are conservatives and he is a conservative? By that logic I would make apologies for Jeffrey Dahmer because he is a white male and I am a white male.

The guy's a homosexual prostitute. The last I heard, prostitution is a crime in DC.

The guy's a gym teacher, not a journalist. Just because he paid $50 and two days later received a certificate, doesn't make him a journalist. He just cut and pasted what other people wrote with no attribution. That's plagiarism. He couldn't even get other people's stuff right. Rush said the bit about Reid and soup lines was a joke. Guckert repeated it to the president as if it was true.

He lied when he told CNN he was a software consultant. He ain't a software consultant. He didn't make the gay prostitute websites for someone else (like he said). Someone else made them for him. I've seen the proof (invoices). I've seen the website photos of Guckert. I won't repeat the obscenities here. I'll just say it is clearly prostitution at $200 per hour and $1200 for a weekend.

He lied when he started the story about Kerry's affair. Where's the proof?

He lied when he said he went to Penn State. He went to West Chester. With these plus his fake name, it is obvious he is trying to hide his past.

If you are a closet gay, deeply in debt ($20,000 in taxes) and using a fake name---you are a security risk. How did such a security risk get knowledge of a CIA document about WMD? How did such a security risk get into the White House for two years? He got in four weeks before Talon News was started. He was never a "journalist" before Talon News.

If conservatives can't have a better "journalist" than this supporting us, we are in bad shape.

One day, you'll be sorry you supported the guy---and I'll be saying I told you so!!!

Subject: Rush Limbaugh Is Re-upping On His Heroin Supply!!!!!!!!!!!

The second I read your link to the alter.net story that Rush Limbaugh was heading for those Opium covered hills of Afghanistan, all I could think of is that this is a man TRULY addicted! I mean, a boil on his butt kept him out of the Vietnam fighting for crying out loud, but he is running full speed (to the back) of the Afghan battlefields now, isn't he folks?

To the best of my knowledge, this is the VERY FIRST war zone Rush Limbaugh has EVER set foot in and I (just like all of you) have to ask myself why now, why specifically there, and why Rush Limbaugh? What POSSIBLE use is a fat, deaf, American propaganda spouting drug addict going to be in Afghanistan to US or Karzai's forces?

I say RUSH is bringing in bags of money to get an Opium fix that he can no longer legally have filled here in America, PERIOD! In America, Rush has to go without hillbilly heroin now. (No more Opium based drugs.) In Afghanistan however, Rush Limbaugh has no one stopping him! It is the Opium Mecca of the world now! Rush can get his Oxycontin in its purest form now (straight black opium tar) and do away with the pill part.

Coincidence? (Hardly) Oxycontin is an Opium-based drug that Rush apparently abused for MANY YEARS. (It is often called Hillbilly Heroin on the streets because heroin COMES directly from refined Opium.) For the last year or so, Rush must have been jonesing his butt off for something, anything to pop or smoke that was Opium based! It must have been hell. The kind of withdrawals and mental cravings that Rush must be going through would make any Opium or crack addict forget he is a coward and they would willingly run into a war zone just like Rush is going to! Like a crack addict to the drug house, I find no surprise in the story that Rush Limbaugh is going to a SPECIFIC place where the UN just happens to state is THE largest producer of Opium in the world.

All I have to say is check this guy's return luggage TSA! (Ah heck, he'll probably have his future stash of Opium paste sent to a middle-man. Especially with all the recent lessons Rush has learned about leaving his prescription and paper trails all over the place.)

Subject: Spiraling Downwards

Hello fellow Buzzers!!!!

After viewing the latest dev elopements from the White House, I have come to the definite conclusion that your country and liberties have been hijacked by the most ruthless and brilliant band of criminals since Hitler and his crew fucked over the hearts and minds of their own people. The cast of characters in the Shrubs Adm. just gets more and more shady. Now Negroponte?!?! Who's next? Why not Falwell as Secretary of Objectivity? If this Adm. wasn't so dangerous to the world outside U.S.A., they would be laughable.

Being a Canadian, I sincerely hope those millions who were stupid enough to vote Repug. in Nov., stay the fuck out of my country. We don't need that kind of shit here. We already have the Canadian Alliance party, and we're doing our best to chase them south of the 42nd where they belong. The red states would welcome them with open arms. It is quite readily apparent that the Dominionists have a firm grip on Bush's short ones. And with the coming rapture and Armageddon, who the hell cares about the environment when Jeebus is soon going to appear and send all of us unbelievers to some kind of landscape reminiscent of one of Bosch's nightmares.

Of course all the La Haye converts are hoping this occurs soon. As far as I am concerned, it can't happen soon enough. Because it seems to be the only way we're going to be rid of these lunatics. And if it's a hell I am going to start hanging my hat at, at least it'll be free of those self-righteous jerks and bigots. We'll all be sinners, but at least we'll be under no illusions that we aren't.

Although it isn't in my nature to try to bum anyone out, or reinforce the doom and gloom landscape perpetuated by these social retards, and by this I mean the Bushies, and since in their minds it's all going to end soon, here is a site that may clarify why they travel this path of destruction (re:Dominionism). The site is lifeaftertheoilcrash.net

Frightening stuff, deals with Peakoil. Folks, it looks worse than bad. And the fact that your present Adm. propagates this rapture shit, leads me to believe that they don't give a fiddlers fuck for anything other than getting what they can, as quickly as they can. WOW, what a justification for their on-going policies.

I can't continue about this anymore at the moment, too depressing. I need another dozen bong hits. "They got lies so big, that they don't make a noise." (Zappa)

This is it for now, I sincerely wish all you free-thinking Americans the best of luck. You are certainly going to need it in the foreseeable future. Got to go, Square Bob Itch Pants is on the tube.

Keep up the great work everyone.

Subject: Trees?

Somewhere there's a forest out there. I know it because I can see all the trees.

The tree herder of that forest (with extreme apologies to J.R.R.) is Karl Rove. Rove's job as tree herder is to make sure that those looking for the forest only see trees; and let's face it, as much as I hate to admit it, he's the best!

When Abu Ghraib happened, the "Shrimp Boat Vets" were the big news covered by the media. When things looked bad for Dubya during the debates, the media made a big deal of Kerry's comments about a vice-president's gay daughter. At the end of October it looked for all the world to most of us, except the media, that Dubya's term was over, then miraculously, Bin Laden popped up from his "U.S./Afghan prison" and made some cryptic remarks and the Stupid American Public (SAPs) bought it hook line and sinker.

But arguably Rove's best piece of work was convincing the media and the same SAPs that George Dubya Bush won the election because of the moral valued right; the factor that no one heard of until an excuse was needed to belie the exit polls and deflect attention from an obvious, to the world but not us, fixed election.

The Democrats are circling wagons to avoid a potential massacre. When Howard Dean exploded, the media, through Rove's PR, made him look somewhat "nuts." Guess what? Dean was probably closer to the truth than any other Democratic Candidate. But because of the Right Wing Media Spin, the "liberals" bought into Rove's bull and nominated a pacifist.

The trouble with the Democrats is very simple; so simple in fact that it's easily overlooked. They have this idea that if they play the game fairly then everyone else will play fair. Naive to say the least. Stupid at best. Grow up. This is a new century.

The "Greatest Generation" is fishing in Florida and doesn't care about the 10 or so years they have left. The MTV cartel is dancing in the streets unaware of anything that isn't rap. And the religious hypocrites are being totally brainwashed by greedy self-proclaimed agents of their God.

Now we have the beginnings of the end in Iraq and it's going badly for the Bush Administration. More American soldiers are dying; many more Iraqis are dying; unrest is increasing; the election didn't quite go the way the Neo-Cons wanted; people are starting to question not only the war but its actual motives; the rest of the world is looking elsewhere for guidance and leadership.

Time for the tree herder to get to work. Change the rationale to justify the Iraq invasion and reassure the SAPs that Bush knew better all along. Who's yer daddy? Sometimes you need to burn some trees to keep the rest from being destroyed. Gannon/Guckert is the current tree! Rove has again effectively removed the eye of the Democrats from the real problems. Gannon's the sacrifice.

Do you think Rove really cares about this scandal? Hell no. He's "pleased as punch" that emphasis is taken away from other more serious problems and the SAPs just fall in line! Pyrrhic victory for the left! Good job guys! (Sarcasm; in case it was lost.)

But don't stop there. Now! Go after all the other related stories. Tie them in to the "scandal;" make the public remember this and question it and you've got something real started. DON'T LET IT DIE!! Do the job the media should have in the first place.

If it works, this will be the baptism of the bloggers. Credibility of the media will finally slip in the eyes of more of the public. But then again, I believe in the Easter Bunny! Any time something causes too much scrutiny of the administration's shortcomings, another innocuous Rovian event is produced.

And the Right criticizes Hollywood! Hell, Hollywood writers couldn't hold a candle to this guy. Pulitzer material! Hugo Award stuff! And the media is even stupider; if that's possible.

I'll leave you with one interesting thought. After 9/11, Bush made Bin Laden his number one priority. Remember? There's no place he can hide! Six months later, Bin Laden was a non person according to Bush. Why? The best(?) intelligence operation in the history of the world couldn't find him, or could they?

They can hunt down a 13 year old hacker on the internet but can't find the internet source of Al Qaeda; they can find and prosecute supposed pedophiles on the internet but can't find a 6 foot plus terrorist on a dialysis machine sending threats over the net; they can prosecute a billionaire for supposedly trying to make money in the stock market but won't look into election fraud.

Is it possible that our Intelligence Agencies can't do the job or don't want to do the job or were told not to do the job; or don't need to to the job after all?

With the inception of the New World Order that people like Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz et al. envisioned in the 90s, and the web site and papers that stated that what was needed was another "Pearl Harbor" to get things going, what if Osama Bin Laden was actually killed in 1998?

That's where the tree herder comes in. Just remember that someday Autumn will come. Wag the Dog, Karl!

Subject: Could Jeb Bush be any more coldly calculating?

Could the governor be any more cynical in his political machinations? Better said, to use his own word, could he be any more devious in his efforts to kill the class-size amendment to the Florida Constitution?

If educational research has proved anything beyond a reasonable doubt, it's that the quality of a child's education is enhanced by lower teacher-pupil ratios. That's probably why parents with means often seek tutoring for their children. It's certainly why exclusive private schools like Gulliver Prep, where Gov. Bush sent his children, keep classes small. But to give more attention to all of Florida's children will cost money and there's the rub for our tax cutting, private school voucher supporting chief executive.

In his bid for reelection in 2002 Gov. Bush won by 14 percentage points. The same voters rejected his abundantly clear opposition to the class-size amendment. But he refuses to concede to the dreams of Florida parents that their children might be launched into successful lives with a quality public education.

Now the governor thinks he's found the wedge. First, offer beginning teachers in small and rural counties significant raises and set them and their representatives in the Florida Legislature against the urban school districts. Then, see how many other teachers can be silenced with a $2,000 payment as the class-size amendment is smothered in its crib. Give Bush credit for one thing! He was being honest when he said his plan would be devious.

Subject: "CBS News Ponders a Rove-Gannon/Guckert Connection..."

The irony of this whole affair is they tend to use the old canard of being gay means being vulnerable to blackmail. Whereas JeffJim might have felt protected by the WH and the press corps(e) and acting as the shill for them, therefore, the spectre of being "outed" has been obfuscated by a full-"blown" blown cover. This is probably *why* there are so many GOP-ers who have had to find new positions because they have ceased to be useful as bend-over-frontwards cheeky asses. One of the other reasons -- of course -- for doing the mosaic on their images is to remain leashed while avoiding anonym-ass to the Religious Right. It may have occurred to Fall-Well and Robertson and Dobson that the signal they divined from the events of 9-11-01 as being directed against what they would term the unGodly gays and other perverts (GOPs), that signal was actually accurate but being directed against ALL of the GOPs. Robertson (the former Marine Liquor Officer (hence someone for B-L-Z Bush to revere)) has threatened a separate party for his cadres of Brazen-Lying-Zealot (B-L-Z) Bubbas to that end. Just as he talked with B-L-Z Bush about casualties, he may have mentioned his displeasure with the MaryCheney-MayaKeyes Revolt Brigade.

Personally, I don't care what a person or two or more do in their consensual lives. No more than the guy or gal who displays pictures of all of their kids as a way of bragging, no more than any public displays of affection, no more than Fall-Well or any of the others who bear their crosses everywhere they go, I don't consider anyone entitled to burden others with what they are supposed to be doing in private. The issue with JeffJim is as Dowd termed it, a hypocrisy weighted down by the gay-issue mining for political gain. But.

Subject: GOP dirty tricksters trying to sabotage AMERICAblog

Well, isn't this interesting. Defenders of Gannon are now phoning people who post comments on AMERICAblog, they pretend to be me, and ask the person to stop posting on the forum. This happened to a good friend of mine who posts here (guys, get a clue, don't call a friend of mine and pretend to be me), and now it's happened to someone else.

First off, when you use a phone, there's an electronic paper trail. Second of all, when you pretend to be someone else, you're very likely bordering on a crime. If this story is so hot that Gannon's, and/or the White House's defenders, are feeling the need to try to sabotage this blog, well, all I can say is thanks, and I'm posting this publicly so perhaps we can get another media story out of this.

In the meantime, folks, maybe you shouldn't post your full name to your comments, and be assured I'd never phone any of you.

One more point, this is pure Karl Rove. His MO is to contact people during a campaign and pretend he's representing the other candidate, then do something obnoxious. Good to know we're getting to them, and if any reporter wants the story, give me a holler.

Brooks imagines a fantasy scenario something like this: a hero (something like Ross Perot, but better looking) appears out of a cloud of toxic waste fumes (generated by the president's "Clear Skies" Initiative). He's coming to blow the whistle on the completely out-of-wahk Bush. After looking over what Republican hegemony has wrought: the wasted landscape, the corporate logos over the White House door and Congressional dome, ...well, this hero, " according to Brooks, "is going to be morally offended. He's going to sense that something fundamentally decadent is going on. And he's going to be right."

He's going to sense it?! As in, ethereally, like some fortune-teller? Duh. Jeez David, no shit! All he'll have to do is read the papers for chrissake--if they haven't been subsumed into Rupert Murdoch, that is.

Subject: 45 million lack health ins. - yet Bush talks about Soc Sec

What is most disturbing about Bush's obsession with Social Security - virtually the only government program generating a surplus - is that he totally ignores the true crisis, which is health care. It is like our house is burning down, and all Bush can talk about is redoing the Gazebo in the back yard. Bush's priorities are out of whack with reality.

45 million US citizens don't have any medical health insurance*! Costs for insurance and health care are skyrocketing. With the breathtaking pace of Bush's fiscally reckless tax cuts, it is only a matter of time before there is no money left for things like Medicare. If this happens, the vast majority of Americans will never be able to retire! If Medicare is destroyed, like he wants to destroy Social Security, the vast majority of older Americans will be one illness away from total bankruptcy.

If Bush policies are totally implemented, you can forget about the bogus argument of increasing lifespan and demographics - people will start dying by the boatload through lack of access to health care. This in itself will solve the fake Social Security crisis, albeit in a very mean spirited fashion.

But not to worry, there is a silver lining to this mess - rich people will do perfectly fine in Bush's "ownership" society. Thank god this mess won't bother rich people.

Bush has got rich people's back!

Mike Reinholz

PS - Seriously think about the hypocrisy of this. According to Alan Greenspan, Bush wants to borrow 4.5 trillion dollars over the next 20 years to "save" Social Security (Paul Krugman and the CBO puts the total at 15 trillion over 40 years.)** Think about how these 4.5 trillion dollars might be more than enough to fix the totally broken health care system. And yet Bush wants to use the money to fix something that isn't even broken. Open your eyes to the hypocrisy of this administration. Bush is playing the fiddle while the house burns down.

Subject: Eason Jordan and Michelle Malkin

I understand that conservative columnist Michelle Malkin had a hand in bringing down CNN executive Eason Jordan for his unsubstantiated claim that the American military has INTENTIONALLY targeted journalists in Iraq. One link is here:

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/...

This is rich beyond words. This would be the same Michelle Malkin who last summer on MSNBC's Hardball, made the unsubstantiated claim to host Chris Matthews that John Kerry had INTENTIONALLY shot himself in order to escape Vietnam. Here's a link for background.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200408200005

The similarities are striking. But I don't remember Malkin's career suffering any significant damage as a result of her comments. It must be clear, even to Malkin, that a double standard exists in what the left is held accountable for versus the right. But it's bold indeed for Malkin to flaunt that double standard for all to see.

Subject: bush to poor: drop dead

You know what surprises me most about Bush’s new Budget Proposal? I’ll tell you what surprises me most about Bush’s new Budget Proposal. What surprises me most about Bush’s new Budget Proposal is that the front gates of the White House aren’t being knocked down by legions of outraged clergy armed with spiked bats and pitchforks and acetylene torches screaming for the head of any of the leering corporate lackeys possessing even the remotest of roles in submitting this moral crime against humanity to Congress. And that the ruling class lets Bush get away with this potentially revolutionary inciting crap.

That’s what surprises me most about Bush’s new Budget Proposal. And I don’t use the term “ruling class” lightly. His tax cuts for the rich: not only do they remain in defiance of the largest deficit EVER, but King Leerer intends to fight to make them permanent.

HOWEVER, for any program involving anybody who isn’t rich: oh yes, cuts do exist. Severe cuts. Cuts o’plenty. Cuts to the bone, unless those bones happen to be located in the vicinity of the cholesterol laden limb of a fat cat. Apparently the plan is to balance the budget on the nutritionally deprived uninsured backs of the inadequately medicated poor. That’s the deal: budget cuts if you’re not rich, tax cuts if you are. Less money for those who don’t have any and more to those who do.

That’s how President Fredo says we’re going to get out of the giant deficit hole he’s dug. You can’t put it any more simply. Rich people richer. Poor people poorer. Here’s just a sample of what he plans for our future with a handy reminder of why. Because you can’t hear it too much. For those of you with a strong stomach and a low threshold of infuriation, feel free to read on. For the rest of you, this might be a good time to check out your horoscope or some of the cheerier comic strips like Family Circus.

• Tighter restrictions on Food Stamp eligibility so rich people can have more money.

• Federal Drug Administration inspection teams sacked so rich people can have more money.

• Highway and infrastructure improvement budgets slashed so rich people can have more money.

• An 11% reduction in Homeland Security funds available to state and local coordination efforts so rich people can have more money.

• $250 million cut from programs to train child care doctors and other health care professionals so rich people can have more money.

• Small Business Administration cut from $3.3 billion to $.6 billion so rich people can have more money.

• Increase on charges for Veterans Health Care so rich people can have more money.

• Cutting Federal Foster Care Programs so rich people can have more money. • Cutting Medicaid and Medicare benefits so rich people can have more money.

• Ending community services block grants, a $637 million program that helps pay for community action agencies founded more than 35 years ago as part of the fight against poverty so rich people can have more money.

• Proposed cuts in aid to farmers, seniors, children, students, cops, veterans, the homeless, the hungry, the environment, Amtrak, AND the Center for Disease Control and Prevention so rich people can have more money.

• Gutting the low income home energy assistance program which is mostly used by the elderly. That’s right friends, he’s cutting winter heating subsidies to the elderly so rich people can have more money.

What are we now: The Gorgar People? Let’s just cut to the chase. You hit 65, we ship you to the Aleutian Islands and place you on an ice floe with matches and a pointy stick. If you a Republican, we take away the stick, because it’s considered an entitlement.

Did the political comic Will Durst mention most of these cuts are necessary to insure that rich people can have more money? Because he meant to mention most of these cuts are necessary to insure that rich people can have more money. And the poor less.

Subject: Good Ole Boy Bush Secrets Released . . . Oh My!

BuzzFlash,

These tapes reflect someone with a conscience . . . we know that isn't true. These conversations are not the Bush dirty trickster that worked for his daddy. Now, I think these tapes are real, but maybe they were made on purpose for a book, sure, but I don't think they were secret to Bush, not really.

And, we also know that people are literally, "scared to death" to become disloyal to any of the Bush clan. I think these tapes were released to make people think Bush is not a bad guy after all . . . that he really cares what people think. I think this is another tool pulled just in case things get too hot. Why the tapes now? Why are these tapes a big headline and Gannon wasn't? Bush has never made this much sense in any interview. These tapes, not unlike the Osama tapes, take control of the news again. Everyone loves secrets . . . if it's a secret, somehow it's supposed to be true.

New York Times In Secretly Taped Conversations . . .

Mr. Wead said he recorded the conversations because he viewed Mr. Bush as a historic figure, but he said he knew that the president might regard his actions as a betrayal. As the author of a new book about presidential childhoods, Mr. Wead could benefit from any publicity, but he said that was not a motive in disclosing the tapes.

Mr. Bush also repeatedly worried that prominent evangelical Christians would not like his refusal "to kick gays." At the same time, he was wary of unnerving secular voters by meeting publicly with evangelical leaders. When he thought his aides had agreed to such a meeting, Mr. Bush complained to Karl Rove, his political strategist, "What the hell is this about?" (snip)

The private Mr. Bush sounds remarkably similar in many ways to the public President Bush. Many of the taped comments foreshadow aspects of his presidency, including his opposition to both antigay language and recognizing same-sex marriage, his skepticism about the United Nations, his sense of moral purpose and his focus on cultivating conservative Christian voters. (snip)

Mr. Bush could hardly contain his disdain for Mr. Gore, his Democratic opponent, at one point calling him "pathologically a liar." [This is really a joke coming from a real pathological liar.]

What I saw in George W. Bush is that he purposefully put himself in the shadows by his irresponsible behavior as a young person," Mr. Wead said. That enabled him to come into his own outside the glare of his parents' expectations, Mr. Wead said.

Why disclose the tapes? "I just felt that the historical point I was making trumped a personal relationship," Mr. Wead said. Asked about consequences, Mr. Wead said, "I'll always be friendly toward him."

Are we supposed to believe that this is the real George Bush? The Bush who lied to start a war? The same Bush who has failed to do one positive thing for Americans. The same Bush who has gone out of his way to be hated around the world. The same Bush who has driven our national debt to an all time high? The same Bush who has appointed criminality to his cabinet? AWOL Bush . . . Crack Cocaine Bush . . . Drunk Bush. No. this, to me, is something that was done for the purpose of a book, but certainly not like the book by J. H. Hatfield, Fortunate Son. That book couldn't get printed.

They all know Bush. Why he's just a regular guy. Yeah. I'd say the truth is, the White House is getting desperate for a real change in the news. Gannon was a secret, too, and no one wanted to touch that story . . . so why are they willing to print these "secret tapes?" We are supposed to think that the Bush White House doesn't know about these tapes or their release . . . yeah. How many times has the American public been lied to by the Bush administration . . . I'll say it again . . . Bush lied this Country into a war that has killed thousands . . . in my mind, that makes him capable of anything and what do these tapes mean anyway? What are we supposed to think about these tapes?

I don't care if someone were to come out and say they witnessed Bush walking on water.  It doesn't excuse Bush from one single crime or from one single lie that he has done since being appointed into the White House. What good are these tapes? Am I missing something here?

Just a thought,

Thanks BuzzFlash,

Shirley Smith

Subject: Take Them At Their Words

Dear BuzzFlash,

In the 1970's, the Trilateral commission painted a rosy picture about how to take over the world for the rich. It's key was to transfer all the power to the president by various small rules and regulations. They wanted then to use the US military to be the enforcer with the american people as cannon fodder. Each president, republican and democrat, was to contribute, along with a scenario which described our past history quite well until Clinton. Enter the PNAC. And they are still around and writing and posting on the web.

Do I believe in conspiracies? Only when they are written in black and white! I really think that the 9-11 incident might have been the Perle Harbor-like incident they were talking about, n'est-ce pas? And they want Iraq to go bad so that Syria and/or Iran will enter into the fight, bringing the Israelis into the fray, leaving the US military the option of leaving to let the others fight and invading Europe. Now, does anybody have any questions why Bush gets away with all that he's done?

Subject: What do you know about this?

I saw a posting on your site that mentioned a group called "Citizens United."

I found they claim they are a 501(c) (3) group and say "a non-partisan, non-profit research and education foundation," see http://citizensunited.org/citizens_united_foundation.html. Clearly this is a lie.

How can they get away with keeping their tax exempt status?

Subject: Honest John's Used Cars And Political News

I've been following the Jeff Gannon/Jim Guckert story about how a person with a past as a gay escort (and possible prostitute) got daily access to white house press briefings. And what I find really odd is how All Things Conservative Republican (ATCR) look so much like the shady operations of a certain kind of used car dealer.

You know the kind I mean: the kind that names itself "Honest John's" and provides a guarantee of one half mile or one half hour, whichever comes first, on a 20-year old car that an old grandma "used only to travel to and from church on Sundays." When you find out that the car was also used by Grandma's 18-year old son to drag race and run drugs, the dealer just doesn't see the problem. After all, he just said that grandma owned the car and grandma only used it to travel to and from church. Both true. And he never said ANYTHING about her son.

These people love secrecy, confusion, and small print qualifiers. Who owns the web sites GOPUSA and Talon? Depends on the day of the week. The ownership changes with the wind, all the better to make it hard for you ethics-bound fools to figure out the scam. Is my name Jeff or Jim, Gannon or Guckert, did I or did I not do....Well, why are you poking around in my private life? And did I mention that I did or did not start writing on a date I can't remember for one or another organization that is now called something different and owned by someone new, but I can't remember who? Is Bobby Eberle, the apparent owner of GOPUSA and Talon, related to Bruce Eberle, Republican fundraiser and e-mail address collector, and if so, how? Depends on who you ask and when, not to mention the circumstances and what the person asking does or does not already know.

Welcome to Honest John's Used Cars and Political News, ma'am. I'll get the keys to that little red cream puff over there and we can enjoy a smooth test drive just as soon as I submit this little tidbit that I cribbed off the white house press release. Say, is that why they call them "red states?"

Subject: Dear BuzzFlash...I'm feeling like we've been amBUSHed once again!

Buzz, we must keep our eye on the ball in order to block this Administration from moving forward with its plans to destroy our country.

While as a matter of principle the more that is slung around about Gannon and his ability to penetrate with assistance, the White House 'press corps' the better, all of a sudden I notice absent from the news:

1. Outrage over Bush social security destruction plan;

2. Sale of IBM to China: and all of the identity data on all of us, network connections, R and D, etc., hanging by a thread only because some Republican members of Congress have demanded that the Congressional Committee on Foreign Investments in America meet (by law, secretly of course) to determine potential risk of action to U.S. national security.

3. Bluster and savagery in Iraq and quick plans to do the same to Iran and Syria, while China is already here and owns our economy;

4. Total absence of any emergency plan grounded in reality to tackle unemployment and job growth for the American people as Bush et al. have depleted the public fisc by throwing it out to buddies and relatives by the tens of millions and billions.

5. Complete absence of current actions this Administration has taken and continues to take by way of the Dept of Interior to rape and deplete the public lands, owned by US not, Bush Inc.

6. Total quiet about the Democratic and Republican Administrations action by way of Presidential Executive Orders allowing the US National Guard and Army Reserve to be deployed in active combat for an indefinite period of time and ensuring these American weekend soldiers have no legal remedy or recourse to resist. I am sure those that signed up on September 12, 2005 [sic] were totally clueless and uninformed about what signing on meant at the time.

6. Total absence of outrage re: selection of Leslie Crawford as the new head of the FDA and concomitant decision by FDA to allow the death pain medication pharmaceuticals such as Merck and Pfizer to continue selling this crap to our citizens rather than permitting Americans to take inexpensive, natural pain killing alternatives. This is just one egregious example of how this Administration takes a political black eye and just bops right back up clean and fresh as a whistle as we look at one another in disbelief, as in, what just happened????

7. Lack of focus on Doug Feith and the cadre under Rumsfeld operating out of the Office of Special Plans. Is Feith in Israel now? What is the status of the three or more multiple investigations into illegal activity by Feith and allegations that he has been a spy for Israel? Also, no follow up re: Sharon's government's role in the 911 terrorist attacks.

8. Failure of diplomacy, N. Korea being a case in point.

9. Total failure of U.S. flu vaccination program the result of Federal procurement policy and guidelines designed to benefit the global elite rather than the American people. Shameful and disgraceful doesn't begin to describe even just this one case of this Administration's misfeasance and malfeasance of Federal authority.

Bush is distracting America with Gannon, the fake 'leak' by Wead of secret tapes, and we must not fall for the bait! That bogus tape released by Wead is absolutely ludicrous... obviously planned and timed for 'leak'... right.

I have found no site on the internet as consistently comprehensive in all matters of direct import to the those dedicated to protecting America and the American people from the reign of the Barbarians. It is thrilling to click on the hyperlink to BuzzFlash and immediately have access to the las test outrages of this Administration and commentary by top thinkers and writers in the world on this subject matter.

It is beyond stunning the daily level of energy and actions galvanized by this website and aggregate efforts by individuals together to protect America to the extent that this is possible.

Subject: Nyt Interview W/doug Wead Re: Tapes Of Bush

I found it amusing that Wead was secretly taping Bush for years in states where it was "legal" (what about ethical?). After I read the interview, I wondered if this isn't Wead's way of sending a dead fish wrapped in the NYT to the White House, metaphorically speaking of course:)

Apparently, several apostles of the conservative Christian right have been less than thrilled with Dubya's refusal to push for the Constitutional Amendment banning same sex marriage. They've also been upset that he sets a higher priority on banning Social Security than on banning abortions & stem cell research. They've frequently "reminded" him that they got him elected & he "owes" them.

Now comes the surprise - tapes! Only Dubya & Wead know what's on the tapes that weren't reviewed by the NYT. Is Wead sending a not-so-subtle message to the White House? Nah, that wouldn't be very Christian.

Here's the link for the Frontline episode "The Jesus Factor" in which Wead is interviewed. In describing how his relationship with Dubya began, Wead states, "So in March 1987, I met George W. and Laura Bush and the twins in Corpus Christi. George W. said, 'I've been reading your memorandum. Good stuff, Wead. I'm taking you over. You report to me. I'll be your boss.' So that was that."

If Wead is using years of "secret" tapes to influence his old buddy George's political agenda, who's working for whom? Pure speculation on my part, of course, but I couldn't help but wonder why a family friend, political advisor and born-again Christian would tape Bush's words SECRETLY, for historical purposes.

As a former journalist, if my intent were purely historical, I would have been more up front about taping.
