Subject: Bush as Harrison Ford--Tough Guy President
When planes are being flown into buildings, George Bush sits
motionless in his chair listening to "My Pet Goat." But
put him in close proximity to a fist-fight, and get out of the
way, he wants a piece of that! Is this standard security protocol
when someone interferes with Secret Service Agents? When a scuffle
breaks out, is it wise for the President to leap into the fight
and start grabbing lapels? Only if it's a movie. But this is reality--a
very frightening reality. George Bush is surely no Harrison Ford.

Does this remind you of Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Soviet Union
or (drum roll) Saddam Hussein's Iraq? When will the directive come
down demanding every home has a picture of "you know who"
in all homes? Orwell spins in his grave.

Subject: Why can't it happen here?
Re: the demonstrations in Kiev this week:
...supporters swarmed through the capital, staging highly organized
rallies ... the country remained split, and the government came
to a near standstill ... what was shaping up to become a historic
moment of confrontation .. with its leadership...
"The police are with the people!" the crowd chanted
... the leadership ... being at an impasse, stung by public and
diplomatic reaction, unsure of how to react ... police units,
the army might be unwilling to put down the demonstrators by force...
"You have a government which ... does not know what to do,"...

Subject: Dan Rather
Dear BuzzFlash,
This is the last straw - Dan Rather is stepping down!! What has
this country come to that it allows one segment of people to run
the entire country. Everyone knew that the right wing has been head
hunting Dan Rather. They can not stand to have two sides to an issue.
This
country is throwing away its democracy. I think I'm headed for Canada
- last one out, turn off the lights!

Subject: "Framing" and Bush v. Gore
Thanks for your insightful editorial
on 11/23 on "framing." Republicans' talk about the
Florida 2000 "recounts" is an example of this. They weren't
recounts at all. Many ballots weren't machine-countable, and thus
the "manual count" was their first count. By allowing
the Republicans to frame the issue as "recount," we've
ceded the point already.
Similarly, the Supreme Court's 2000 decision to stop the manual
count framed the election as being Bush's already; only by doing
so could they grant him the standing to sue.
Thanks for your insightful editorial, and keep up the good work.

Subject: My letter to the editor on Iraq
You might remember originally the war with Iraq was about weapons
of mass destruction, none of which were found in Iraq. Bush now
says the war with Iraq was to bring them democracy. If over 1200
US military people are dead and over 8500 military personnel have
combat injuries [not counting the possible 20,000 persons whose
injuries are non-combat related], how many will be dead and injured
if we liberate the approximate 50 dictatorships in the world? Are
you willing to accept over 60,000 dead US military, 475,000 injured
US military, and 1,000,000 injuries non-combat related to liberate
every country in the world for freedom? I thought not. Therefore,
it leads me to believe, still, that this was a war of revenge for
the attempted assassination of GW Bush's father and for oil.

Subject: incredible
I could not believe my eyes when I was reading your article relevant
to the Ukraine's elections, that someone in this administration dared
to say the following:
"The United States is deeply concerned by extensive and credible indications
of fraud committed in the Ukrainian presidential election,"
White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan said.
What about stealing TWO elections?
I feel so frustrated that we, the people, have not done the same
the Ukrainian people have done, demonstrating in the streets how
we are certain that the elections were stolen ONCE AGAIN.
I can't believe that this is America, the land of the free and the
home of the brave....it appears that we have now become the LAND
OF THE CORRUPTED POLITICIANS and the home of the tame and ball-less.
Are there no more patriots in our beloved land?...how come no one
has really informed bu$h that he did not win?
...just asking...

PS - Politicians, regardless of party affiliation, continue to receive
their undeserved salaries and benefits, so they do not give a hoot
for the people, who went to the polls and worked so hard trying
to bring back democracy to our beloved land...they don't really
care who is the pResident of the White House....we, the people,
should REALLY care that our democracy is DYING, being killed by

Subject: "Your Leader"???
Hi Buzzers,
Just read about the Bush billboard in Florida...Shades of Hussein
& Hitler...
http://www.bluelemur.com/index.php?p=442
How tough would it be (or how much would it cost to hire a really
good rock-climber with a rig...) to shimmy up that sign, cover up
the "YOUR" part and paint in "MIS"...
Next: just talked to someone who recently vacationed in Hawaii.
Apparently, their tourist industry is suffering, and McDonald's
& Walmart are so empty you could bowl down their aisles...
Personally, I haven't set foot in a Walmart since I discovered how
they've contributed in large part to the erosion of many previously
thriving small towns all across North America & Mexico, not
to mention the fact that Walmart suppliers, when calculated as a
group, are probably among the top employers of Communist China's
underpaid working class people...
I have tried to buy locally and think globally for quite some time
now, and encourage all my friends, neighbors and customers to, as
well. In my boycotting America, American Corporations & American
products (*except for small organic food growers in California),
I'm participating in what I hope will become a worldwide movement.
Protesting doesn't seem to work. Bush called the millions of world
citizens who rallied both before and after the illegal US Invasion
of Iraq mere "focus groups," remember? The only "world
protest" the US politburo will probably ever acknowledge is
one which directly affects the US economy...unfortunately.
When American business and the American economy is penalised for
the transgressions that its bully government has perpetrated against
humanity, perhaps their government will finally care about what
the rest of the world "thinks."
Money talks and bullshit walks...Until I see a positive change in
regime and US foreign policy, my money won't buy products grown
by, manufactured by, or distributed by US companies.
This includes American-made movies... I'll stick with "foreign
films" with the exception of "BUZZFLASH" recommended
American Patriot documentaries like "Outfoxed" and Michael
Moore's next endeavour, which hopefully Canadians will finance and
distribute, as they saw fit to distribute F 9-11 when Disney weenie'd
out...
My little son sang me a song the other day called "One Small
Voice" which had a powerful effect on me. Anyone else know
it and care to sing along??

Subject: Voting
I cast an absentee ballot for the November 2nd presidential election.
Today, for a run-off race in Georgia, I cast an electronic vote.
After doing so, I felt so strange...suspecting that I had wasted
my time by coming out in the rain to vote. My candidate did lose,
but because of Karl Rove and the stolen election of 2000 (and probably
the recent 2004 one), I don't know if I will ever trust the voting
mechanisms that are in place. Especially here in Georgia. Bush and
Rove have done this! Unless the Democratic Party can prove to me
that they care enough to put in place a means of providing verification
for my votes, why should I bother?
Happy Thanksgiving. And may God forgive America for all the killing
and destruction that is being done in our name.
