Subject: How to break a man
Hi Gang!
From watching Shrubya from the time he was governor of Texas to being
appointed President of the United States, I've come to the same conclusions
millions already have.
-
He is self-centered.
-
He thinks ideologically.
-
He is unable to admit to mistakes.
-
His is vain.
-
He absolutely loathes criticism of himself.
-
He shirks responsibility by blaming others.
These qualities alone are more than enough to break this man.
When the election results start coming in November 2, 2004 and John
Kerry gets his 270 electoral votes, you will see the beginnings of Shrubya's
emotional breakdown.
You see, early in life, Shrubya has had no trouble dealing with failure.
He knew that Poppy and Friends would always be there to dust him off
and save him. Failed business ventures and a lackadaisical run for political
office to impress his father never bothered him, obviously.
But now we are dealing with a man absolutely convinced he should still
be president for a second term and is absolutely convinced America will
see it the same way.
Get the popcorn out because you are going to see a very beaten-down,
confused, and angry man when Shrubya gives his concession speech.
In the aftermath, don't get too caught up in John Kerry's victory.
People like Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Boortz, Savage, Coulter, and
Medved all made their careers demonizing the last Democratic president.
Media outlets like FOX have become outrageously transparent in their
coverage of politics and who they favor. Politicians like DeLay, Frist,
Hastert, Gingrich, and Santorum thrive on vilifying political opponents.
We sat on our collective asses for eight years while all the guilty
parties worked feverishly to destroy a president while glorifying another.
By our inaction for those eight years, we let them take power.
It is time to take that power back and keep it in the American peoples'
hands.

Subject: Letter to the Editor - Republican Tactics might backfire!
The Republican tactic to suppress the vote of Democrats in swing states
might backfire on them and cost them more votes than they gain. The
Republicans are making an all out effort in key states to keep Democrats
from voting. In Ohio for example, Republicans are sending "election
challengers" to polling places to slow down the voting process
and
intimidate voters in Democratic areas only. They are challenging the
thickness of paper required for voter registration. The have used
Republican owned companies to sign up Democrats and then destroy the
registrations. Republican impersonating election officials have called
Democratic voters to give them wrong information about where their
polling place is.
Although these tactics will succeed in reducing the Democratic vote
it might offend Republicans and Independents who feel that it is wrong
to cheat to win. Some people have a basic sense of fairness and honesty
believing that everyone who is eligible to vote should be allowed
to exercise their constitutional rights to vote in free and fair elections.
These people might be turn off by cheating and vote against the Republican
party.
So the question is - will the Republicans gain or lose from this.
Clearly they think cheating works. But I wonder, now that they are
being watched closely, if the same tactics that got Bush elected in
2000 will work again in 2004.

Hi,
1. I linked to your "Voter Bill of Rights" in your Voter

2. Yesterday you featured a link to MoveOn's EP-card. It incorrectly
states that 866.OUR.VOTE is only for serious legal voting problems,
the equivalent of calling 911. It is for all voters with any problems
at the polls. I've contacted MoveOn to alert them that their card
contains incorrect information.

Subject: Bad News Dogs Bush As Election Nears
Dear Folks,
Contained within this article it angers me when Rudi Guiliani who
has been stumping for Bush said this, “said the troops in Iraq, not
Bush, bore the responsibility for searching for the explosives.” He
then went
on to say on national TV this statement, “"No matter how you
try to blame it on the president, the actual responsibility for it
really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully
enough --
didn't they search carefully enough?" Giuliani said on NBC's
"Today" program. Oh sure, blame the troops and again it
shows how those that support this idiot will not hold him accountable
for one damn thing. I
am sick when everyone else has been blamed in these past four years
except the man who is deserving of all the blame.
Also stated in this article is this paragraph, “A new survey of deaths
in Iraqi households estimates that as many as 100,000 more people
may have died throughout the country in the 18 months since the U.S.-led
invasion than would be expected based on the death rate before the
war.”
To Interim Prime Minister Allawi, how can you stand by and side with
a man responsible for the murder of 100,000 of your citizens? Many
who were women and children.
The rest of the article will get you both upset and where your stomach
will just churn. We cannot have four more years of this crap!

Subject: Great Quote
Dear Buzz,
When I opened my email this morning I discovered a wonderful quote
sent to many of us in TX who support David Van OS, one of the finest
Democrats in the country who is running for the Texas Supreme Court.
I thought I would share it with all my fellow BuzzFlash readers. I continue
to wonder what our Founding Fathers, who are invoked by the Right so
much, would feel about those who do. I suspect that they would be as
truly appalled by the revisionist political history that they espouse
as we are.
As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow
that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community
are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope
ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality.

Subject: Faith Based?
The headline in yesterday's Bloomington Herald Times said that Middle
Way House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, that serves
several counties here in Indiana lost a $300,000.00 grant from the
Department of Justice to provide legal services to those victims.
The DOJ stated the grant was not detailed enough although it was actually
a more detailed version of the one submitted and approved last year.
That makes me wonder if this grant was denied on faith based grounds.
Middle Way House, which was founded in the 1970s, is a strongly feminist
organization. I also know that conservatives in my home town have
blocked the creation of a domestic violence shelter on the grounds
that such shelters "break up families." I'm wondering if
the real reason Middle Way House didn't get the grant is because it
doesn't counsel wifely submission like many neo-con "faith based"
groups do. I guess the faith based part is faith that the abuser won't
beat the abusee to death.

Subject: Azzam the American, our October surprise
Buzz,
Just in time for Halloween (and elections), Karl Rove Productions
has released the tape of Azzam the American, who, with his face conveniently
covered, shakes his finger to the camera and tells us that we are
going to die. And he speaks in perfect American English, just so the
undecided Joe, who has contemplated voting for Kerry, will pee in
his pants and choose Bush on Tuesday.
Boo-hooo! The only thing that's missing are menacing bats and rotting
pumpkins in the background.
The tape with the scary Azzam is, well, laughable. And so is its timing.
But our astute media has promoted this latest Rovian achievement all
over the main news -- never mind that the tape is not authenticated
(remember Rathergate?), looks much different than what we have been
getting so far from Bin Laden and the other one, and it surfaces at
the time when Bush is in hot water over the horrendous missing explosives
blunder.
The more things change, the more they stay the same...
But at least I'll go trick-or-treating on Sunday dressed as Azzam.
Karl, thanks for the idea.

Subject: Letter to the Editor - What does bin Laden statement
mean?
With just 4 days till the election bin Laden is addressing Americans.
What does this mean? What it means that no one can argue with is that
bin Laden is alive - he's free - and he got away with 9-11.
When bin Laden attacked America Bush said he was going to get him.
Bush said we are going to "smoke him out." Obviously Bush
has failed. Bush has tried to downplay the importance of bin Laden saying,
“I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run.”
He described bin as “marginalized” and said, “I just don’t spend that
much time on him.”
Clearly Bush is a failure and he just doesn't get it. Bush doesn't get
it that bin Laden has not been "marginalized" and the fact
that bin Laden is making statements reflects Bush's failure to protect
America.
We need a president who will actually get bin Laden. John Kerry is
reporting for duty and I think he'll get the job done where Bush has
failed.

Subject: Osama at Tora Bora
Has the news media forgotten the Washington Post report from April 2002
entitled
"U.S. Concludes Bin Laden Escaped at Tora Bora Fight: Failure to
Send Troops in Pursuit Termed Major Error"?
Why is the Bush administration allowed to get away with the lie that
there was no way of knowing if Osama was there, when they've said so
themselves and admitted their own failure? Is this version of history
no longer "operative" in the White House?
Read the first two paragraphs of the WaPost article:
The Bush administration has concluded that Osama bin Laden was present
during the battle for Tora Bora late last year and that failure to
commit U.S. ground troops to hunt him was its gravest error in the
war against al Qaeda, according to civilian and military officials
with first-hand knowledge.
Intelligence officials have assembled what they believe to be decisive
evidence, from contemporary and subsequent interrogations and intercepted
communications, that bin Laden began the battle of Tora Bora inside
the cave complex along Afghanistan's mountainous eastern border. Though
there remains a remote chance that he died there, the intelligence
community is persuaded that bin Laden slipped away in the first 10
days of December.
And why aren't we accepting Kerry's truthful statement that the job
of capturing Osama was outsourced to corrupt local warlords while Tommy
Franks fiddled in Tampa? From the fourth paragraph....
In the fight for Tora Bora, corrupt local militias did not live up
to promises to seal off the mountain redoubt, and some colluded in
the escape of fleeing al Qaeda fighters. Franks did not perceive the
setbacks soon enough, some officials said, because he ran the war
from Tampa with no commander on the scene above the rank of lieutenant
colonel. The first Americans did not arrive until three days into
the fighting. "No one had the big picture," one defense
official said.
And finally, why won't the media call Bush's claim that he never said
he wasn't concerned about capturing Osama for what it is: a bald-faced
lie?
http://www.democrats.org/exaggeration/index.html
There is no excuse for failing to remind and report to America the full
truth when it pertains to this mass murderer and our failure to capture
him. Why haven't we heard more about this?

I just heard on Air America with Randi Rhodes that all of your networks

who has been going after Kerry since Nixon was in office!!!!!
As an avid WATCHER of most of your channels, I am spreading the word
LOUD AND CLEAR about this TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN.
The www.OpTruth.org Ad, WHICH YOU WILL NOT ALLOW, shows an American
soldier, Robert Acosta, sitting on a stool. He then says...
I was called to serve in Iraq, because the government said there
were WMD, but they weren't there. They said that Iraq had something
to do with 9/11, but the connection wasn't there. They told us that
we would win the war and be home soon, but we're still there. So
when people ask me where my arm went, I try to think of the right
words, but they're not there.
Face it. With either Bush or Kerry winning, there will be a draft
coming, with more Robert Acosta casualties. This hits ALL OF YOUR
AUDIENCES head on, as to what they will be facing after the election.
I'M NOT ASKING YOU, I'M ORDERING YOU to let www.OpTruth.org Advertise

Subject: "I Pledge Allegiance to ... George W Bush"
Just when you think things couldn't get any crazier...
The following just appeared on Slate (quoted here in part). In Port
St. Lucie, Florida, the following just happened at a Bush campaign rally:
"I want you to stand, raise your right hands," and recite
"the Bush Pledge" said Florida State Sen. Ken Pruitt. The
assembled mass of about 2,000 in this Treasure Coast town about an
hour north of West Palm Beach dutifully rose, arms aloft, and repeated
after Pruitt: "I care about freedom and liberty. I care about
my family. I care about my country. Because I care, I promise to work
hard to re-elect, re-elect George W. Bush as president
of the United States."
Now, the Bush-Cheney campaign does require the people who attend its
events to sign loyalty oaths, but this is in another league altogether
-- the audience had to stand and utter one. Yes indeed. If you don't
support us, you are the enemy.
