i saw on the news that a home grown group may be plotting a terrorist attack at the democrat convention. now i'm no rocket scientist but it would seem to me common sense would not lead you to think the brady bunch is behind such a thing. the only conclusion one could come to is that a group of those nut job right wingers is behind it, just like the anthrax terrorist that was never caught!

Subject: If these records conveniently clear Bush, I'm betting they're high tech forgeries.

The Pentagon on Friday released payroll records from President Bush's 1972 service in the Alabama National Guard, saying its earlier contention the records were destroyed was an ``inadvertent oversight.''

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/...

With Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Cambone, Zakheim, Feith's hyper-power and all the hyper budgeting graft at the Pentagon, NO ONE'S  going to tell me that with all the $$$ that's at stake (if the "found" records clear Bush), that they didn't have and use the most absolutely sophisticated technology to forge and construct false documents.

Subject: more about jenny and her nasty little tongue

Jenna bush is just a chip off the old block!! Instead of thumbing her nose at reporters, she sticks out her nasty little tongue! Didn't her tongue look a little yellowish? Must be hittin' the ole bottle again, huh! Like I said, just a chip off the old block!! Wonder if she's as arrogant and ignorant as ole dad? Wonder if she's as big a liar? Wonder why she and her sister don't join up to go to Iraq and really help ole dad?

By the way, speaking of liars, how come every time, anymore, that repugs defending bush on tv, look like they've been sucking on lemons? I mean like he's such a big liar, even repugs are having a problem defending him!! And brother, that's bad!! Well, better sign off for now before I really get worked up! Something about the bushies and repugs that really gets my juices flowing. Thanks for letting me sound off.

p.s.  Why not get a list of all the fox news sponsors and e-mail addresses so all BuzzFlash readers could e-mail them and threaten to stop using their products? Let's give the repugs a dose of their own medicine!!

Comparing the 9/11 report to the Single Bullet Theory. Both telling the America people absolutely NOTHING! A waste of good ink and paper, in both cases!

Subject: Why Does Bush Think He'll Be Re-Elected?

Hi Gang!

Shrubya obviously firmly believes that he will be re-elected in November. How can this be?  What makes him think he is so special to think so?

I take you back to when Nixon was running for re-election against George McGovern.

1972: Nixon VS. George McGovern

The article is primarily from the point of view of how the media behaved during the election but you will see the disturbing parallels:  An unpopular president, an unpopular war, media bias, character attacks, and blatant distortion of the facts.

In fact, the parallels between Nixon and Shrubya are extremely disturbing, particularly the vindictiveness.

While we may not have seen this at first, there is one man who recognized the modus operandi and quite frankly, expected it to be as such:  John Kerry.

Subject: What I did.

Something new.

I did something last night I have never done.   I involved myself into the second most horrible thing in the world. Politics.

I decided last night that nothing is more important to the future of the country I love than removing the sitting president and his cronies from office.   Last night, I donated to this cause.   Later, if I can afford it, I will donate again.

I have decided to give up buying a few things and I gave 200 dollars -- a lot for me -- to the DNC.

I urge all of you to give up something for a month -- lattes, good wine, eating lunch out or a daily newspaper and give, even if it is 20 bucks.

This isn't because I believe necessarily in John Kerry, it is more so that after much reading, study and ignoring television news, I realize that the sitting president is not a man of god but believes he is and therefore is insane.

To believe that God speaks through George Bush is to believe that God said Iraq when he meant Iran (Oddly enough if Duhbya would have said Iran early on Germany would have been with us as they have said Iran was the real threat all along). Even with giving W the benefit of the doubt, God probably is a better public speaker and therefore likely did not misspeak.

This country will be at a constant state of war if he is allowed to remain in office.

For those of you under 28, the draft is coming also -- the Military is not manned for world crusades and conquests, and if this continues, bye.

In case you wondered what the first most horrible thing in the world that I once involved myself in, man-made religion.

Hi BuzzFlash,

Have you guys looked at the NewsMax.com website today?  Their first two headlines are:

"9/11 Commission Says 'We Are Not Safe'"

"Rice: Commission Is Right: 'U.S. Is Safe'r"

Are they crazy?  I think these guys are really starting to lose it.

Subject: Bush the Biblicist . . .

BuzzFlash,

Not a day goes by that we don't see something that tells us more about the person who sits in the Big White House looking down on all of us.

Your reader who talked about how Bush manages to always "mangle" scriptures . . . well, the scripture he (your reader) pointed out, I felt was very telling in how Bush thinks.  He may misquote, but he sees things in the way he wants to see them and after all God does talk to him . . . Bush says so.

It could be a Freudian slip or a lazy brain, as your reader suggests, or it could be that Bush thinks he should rewrite the Bible, that maybe through many translations, he thinks the Bible is wrong and that he (Bush) is right.

Along this line when Bush quoted "To whom much has been given, much is owed," . . . this probably explains all of the tax cuts to the silk-stocking set that Bush feels are "owed," and that we poor people haven't earned, so many of us will have to go barefoot.

The one thing that I am sure that Bush never had as he was growing up in New England with his family of privilege . . . was a lesson about charity, humility, and personal responsibility . . . when one is so blessed for just being born into a certain family, they owe society because of their special treatment in life and should be giving back to those less fortunate. That is the lesson and judging from Bush's actions towards the world and American citizens . . . Bush evidently was AWOL on that day.

Thanks BuzzFlash,

Shirley Smith

Subject: Bush Family Values... it turns out some families have more value than others

In a way George Bush does have a form of family values. I think these values are that he values HIS family way more than other American families.

Can we crack down on Saudi financial connections to terrorism? Not while George Sr is on the board of the Carlisle group and lobbying for global oil we can't...

In a similar note I see that George recently signed a stronger Anti Identity Theft bill. Wouldn't that always have been a good part of the war on terror?  But George had to wait awhile until the time was right for this bill. Specifically George had to wait until his daughters no longer needed fake IDs to go out drinking.  Identity theft was EVIL, except when HIS kids do it.

In the midst of Bush's new "war on demand" policy (the President demands war for any old reason (true or NOT) and America has to fight it), or the "pre-emptive war" policy as some call it, you would think that one of the first things you would do is beef up your Army. The way to beef up the number of soldiers is to have a draft. Isn't it kind of strange that while George Bush was ramping up the multiple simultaneous war machine he didn't start a draft? After all, one of the big constraints against attacking Iran right now is the lack of extra troops to start the next war. If Bush had started the draft right after 9-11 the neocon world takeover might be continuing into Iran and Syria right now.

But there were two reasons Bush was NEVER going to start the draft in his first term, Bush's daughters Jenna and Barbara were draft age in Bush's first term.  War is great for America, but not for HIS kids. But now that his kids are a little older, don't be surprised if during a second Bush term a draft of 18 year olds just happens to become a necessity.

Subject: Limbaugh on Allawi shooting prisoners in cold blood: 'Good, hubba, hubba'

Rush Believes Allawi Execution Story (atrios.blogspot.com)

Last week I reported that the Pill-Popping Draft-Dodger's response to allegations that Iraqi PM Iyad Allawi murdered six men in cold blood was, "Good, hubba-hubba."

Today Media Matters provides a full transcript.

LIMBAUGH: The Australian Broadcasting Corporation is reporting that the new Iraqi Prime Minister Allawi has executed six insurgents in front of witnesses, wanting to send a clear message to these people. Good. Hubba-hubba.

Now that's right. Now, you're going to have -- you're going to have -- you're going to have some of the powerless fearful Left in this country saying see, this is what Bush has done. Bush did this, no due process, they just kill them when you find them. We can't -- America's going to be hated in the world, blah blah blah blah. Well, the Iraqis are handling their own affairs.

Put aside, if you can, the fact that Limpbutt places no value on democratic principles. It's obvious from this response that the self-anointed bastion of all conservative knowledge finds these allegations to be credible.

The Australian press is all over this story, and Iraq's Human Rights Minister has opened an investigation. Where are you, New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, NPR...

Subject: It's a miracle!!!! They found the records !!

Oh no ! !

Could it be a Friday ?!?

Could it be the Friday following the 9/11 report???   It is possible that all the talk shows and news programs are focused on the report and the recommendations of the 9/11 commission??  What better time, then, to "find" Bush's reserve records that "weren't destroyed" after all...   Does it get any better than this????   Well, yes it does. Gov. Bush (Jeb the smarter) just eliminated the paper trail in the Florida prison system. He streamlined the Florida voter registration system, too, and made it so much "easier" for all those felons to register to vote.

Why, they can cut through the red tape at their prisons, just go back to their lovely air-conditioned homes and register from their own PC and laptop systems awaiting their return.

I ask you again. How much better can this get..... Don't answer.

I went to see Fahrenheit 9/11 the other night, not because I expected to see anything new, but because I wanted to show my support for Michael Moore's effort and also to judge the support for his film. The closest theater showing the film was Nashville. I tried to go on Saturday, with a group from our church, but the show was sold out. I decided to go the next week, during a weekday, when I would be in Nashville.

I was pleasantly surprised at the turnout on a Wednesday afternoon. I attended a 5:15 PM showing and the theater was over 3/4 full. A lot of the people attending the showing were elders, which surprised me, since they are usually seen as more conservative.

I did not see anything new in Michael's film. I have been researching 9/11 since it occurred and was not surprised by anything he presented. But I do think he did a good job of providing an encapsulated view of the major points that need to be made about 9/11, and he did so in a way that was most moving.

I have witnessed all of the flak that the Right has thrown up against this movie and I have only one thing to say to those who are undecided. Go see the movie. If you still remain unconvinced of Michael Moore's critique of the Bush administration, then God bless and keep you.

Subject: "has no credibility in terms of laws or lawyers."

Maybe this is how democrats should talk to people in the Bush administration, like the North Koreans, they have "no credibility in terms of laws or lawyers."   I still say Moon delivers an agreement with NK for Bush. We will get skinned. Moon's already in place in NK, will make a fortune, and if he does it before the election he could save his little theocratic president... Bush'll be the "peace" president. haha Don't laugh, NK may be what's being set up in that line of bs, it may already be a done deal....go for a two-fer, Bin Laden and NK.....this country couldn't tell a con if it bit them in the keester...
North Korean U.N. Envoy Visits Capitol Hill (Washington Post)   In fact, the Bush administration had previously refused at least twice to permit the official -- Pak Gil Yon, North Korea's ambassador to the United Nations -- to travel to Washington, said Rep. Curt Weldon (R-Pa.). Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kerry has criticized the administration for declining to meet directly with North Korean officials to resolve the impasse. ..........   Pak noted that a state of war still exists between the United States and North Korea and thus the administration's demand that North Korea give up its weapons first before discussions can proceed on other aspects of the relationship "has no credibility in terms of laws or lawyers."

Pak also asserted that the three-month time frame for verifying North Korean claims did not meet favor with other participants at the talks. "The three months of preparation for dismantling the nuclear program has little scientific and realistic nature with no parties' support," he said.

Subject: Soap opera v. Fox News...

I'm 49 years old, male, and love my mother to death (and most of us guys do).

Anyway, I was sitting with my mom earlier today, as she was watching her favorite soap opera (she has been watching it for years); and of course I was barbing her, telling her how silly it all was, and how in the heck could she keep up with it, etc... She'll tell you that she can literally miss 3 or 4 episodes and be right back on target in short order.

About the time I was telling her how silly it all was she flipped the channel (inadvertently I think) to FOX News (she's a democrat, so only stops by for entertainment). FOX was reporting live interveiws with returning sailors form the USS Ronald Reagan. The image was of a reporter interviewing one of the sailors, obviously happy to be back. The interview went as follows:

REPORTER: You seem pretty excited, I'll bet you're glad to be back.

SAILOR (emotionally and physically showing signs of great relief and happiness): "You bet, I'm so excited, look at all the people! (pointing towards the large crowds) It's hard to imagine, who would have imagined, all these people, it makes you feel proud, so good, so good in fact it makes you want to turn around and go take over another third world country!"

I don't recall the FOX interviewer saying anything -- by that time my mom was back on her soap opera -- and I looked at her and she said that people had the audacity to tell her her soap operas were silly -- chalk one up for mom.

Subject: bush and kenny boy...

I have a question. Keny boy Lay has stated that because he is a friend of bush is the main reason for his indictment in the Enron scandal. What is this guy smoking???

Does he honestly believe that what he did with the accounting scheme a normal course of business as usual? Can he say that what they did to the state of California legal, by gouging the citizens with outrageous pricing and allowing phony blackouts OK?

I believe that all those documents that were shredded in the very beginning of this mess, would have included information about this administration that would have been damaging to the bushies.

Kenny "Boy" Lay need not worry about the outcome of his trial. Like bush senior pardoned Caspar Weinberger (forgive me if I spelled the name wrong) over the Iran Contra scandal, because Caspar was not going down alone, he would have named names of those involved, and felt that it was best to pardon him and therefore business as usual for the GOP. So too will bushy boy follow in his daddy's footsteps and pardon Kenny boy after the election should he steel this one or just prior to leaving office....

This is how the GOP forwards family values to their siblings. "It is ok to break the law if it is to your benefit, or to protect ones deep dark secrets, or blatantly lie even if it is harmful to the person you are lying about...infidelity, same sex sessions behind closed doors, drugs, etc.

I do not know how these people sleep at night, without having their subconscious play havoc with the conscious mind as to what is right and what is wrong. I GUESS FIRST OFF YOU NEED A CONSCIOUS.

Subject: Re: George Lakoff interview on PBS

BuzzFlash:

Could you publish the George Lakoff interview on PBS today (7-23-04)? He presented a road map on how to re-gain the White House and U. S. Congress. We must stop using the term "War On Terrorism" instead use "Fight Against Terrorists." We must stop saying the war in Iraq has made us less safe, instead say the invasion and occupation of Iraq has put America in much more danger. The invasion and occupation of Iraq has created many more terrorists than we have destroyed.

Subject: comments about AOL Right-wing SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE

Love BuzzFlash,

I just read your comments about Dennis the turncoat Miller. (By the way, have you noticed he and other right wing blow hard washed up actors and celebrities are doing ads for Rupert Murdoch's FOX Direct TV satellite company -- SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!)  But what I was interested in was your observations about AOL and how they pose those polls and display the headlines...typically and very slyly they always manage to subtly slant towards a negative impression of democrats.. either by terrible photos of Kerry and Edwards or slanted negative comments and biased polls that I suppose satisfy most of the AOL majority republican customers...

I once called AOL and asked to speak to the person in charge of the "AOL news dept."  Of course I was told that would be impossible, and left it at that. The point is, AOL appears to be another very subliminal and subtle fox type republican Internet provider and I really feel as though it's the type of thing that most mainstream people don't recognize and think about yet, over time I think the brain washing that goes on is doing its job on the unknowing masses.

Might you have any idea how I could get in touch with the editorial and headliners of AOL so I could ask them directly why they do what they do? Perhaps that might be a good piece BuzzFlash might consider investigating.

Subject: BUSH WAS NOT AWOL

Editor:   I wish to point out the misuse of the term AWOL as it is being applied to military service, or the lack thereof, of George Bush Jr.  AWOL refers to a temporary condition of one month duration or less.  Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, being AWOL for more than 30 days with no intent to return to duty is defined as desertion.  There is NO STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR DESERTION.  Upon conviction, sentence may range from confinement to capital punishment.  Sort of ironic, in view of GW setting the record for the number of executions during his term as Texas Governor?  In any event, it is an affront to all of the service men and women that were posted as AWOL because they missed a formation or overstayed a leave to be compared to a deserter like GW.

Subject: BuzzFlash at the Convention

Dear BuzzFlash:

I see that BuzzFlash will be at the Democratic Convention with full press credentials. Not only am I proud of you, I'm hoping that we (BUZZFLASHERS) can somehow see the influence of your presence on the convention floor.

Despite what the Repugnantcon spin machine says, the feelings expressed by BuzzFlash and the BuzzFlash Mailbag ARE the feelings of most Democrats and Progressives.

I have been so inspired by this website and those who post to the Mailbag that on Friday I marched my 58-year-old body into the local Democratic Party headquarters and offered my services. I will do whatever my local party needs to elect JOHN KERRY and defeat gwb.

Donating money and reading internet websites where your opinions and views are validated by like-minded people is great, but going to work for the DNC as a volunteer is better because this year is different than any Presidential election year in my memory.

This year we vote to TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY from the people who have used our wealth, our lives and our future to further their personal agendas and line their own pockets.

So while BuzzFlash is serving the Progressive/Democratic Community through its presence at the Democratic National Convention, I respectfully request that ALL BuzzFlashers get up off your good intentions and volunteer your services to your local Democratic Party.

We CAN do this! We MUST do this! We CAN'T take 4 more years of the worst presidency in the history of the United States of America.

AMERICANS DESERVE THE BEST, AMERICA DESERVES JOHN KERRY!

I just wanted to remind other Buzzers out there what a beautiful month Sept will be. Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 will be out on dvd, the first of many debates will happen between our next President Kerry and the shrub, and last but not least, with everyone writing in on all the books out there on Bush, the important one will be written from Sharon Bush who is writing a tell-all book about the inside secrets of the Bush family. I love it! Can't wait!! Til next time, keep the faith, send money to Kerry's campaign, support BuzzFlash, watch the Democratic convention and Pray like hell we don't have a repeat of 2000, and have a good day. : )

Subject: Bush's missing months

I think the whole deal of George Bush's missing months of duty is stopping people from using the really damning evidence that is already there:   He got into the National Guard because of his family connections. He really was not qualified for the flight training, barely having the minimal score possible. Other qualified men could have taken the spot.   But worst of all he flaked out and did not finish his training, costing the tax payers over a million dollars and double that if the money to train another candidate is added in. That would be somewhere near six million dollars at current value!   He never explained why he flaked out. And it is obvious he was not ever going to serve as a pilot in the military -- let alone serving in Vietnam.   Go after him on that. That is what is really damning, just using the National Guard as a playground. One which he could quit whenever he got bored.

Subject: 20/20

I sent this letter to 20/20 in regard to John Stossel's vicious attack on John Edwards during the July 23 broadcast. I would like to nominate John Stossel for GOP hypocrite of the week. Please feel free to post my nasty gram to 20/20 while I ready another one for the president of ABC. I hope Stossel's assault will not go unchallenged!

John Stossel should be fired for his blatant political attack against John Edwards that was poorly disguised as a segment named "Lawyers and the 'Little Guy'" that aired on July 23.

I lost count at how many times he said "lawyers like John Edwards" to the point of nausea.

It's clearly obvious that John Stossel is a hypocritical conservative bigot pushing an agenda.

I suppose there aren't any politicians on the republican side of the aisle who are lawyers. Give me a break! Stossel libeled John Edwards without providing a single example of a victim who was wrongly injured through negligence that would not be getting the needed medical care had it not been for John Edwards. Stossel failed to provide one shred of evidence to back up his smears. To imply that doctors are doing too many C-sections or that patients are in more pain because of John Edwards was way over the line beyond anything that could be considered respectable or responsible journalism. Stossel wants to blame everyone except for those responsible especially if he can get filthy corporations off the hook.

When a segment smells so bad that Barbara Walters has to make it clear that it doesn't reflect her view one must ask where were the editors that should have stopped such tabloid trash from being broadcast.

Personally I am so sick of Stossel's angry right wing take on everything that 20/20 can kiss it goodbye. Once Barbara leaves, the show will tank if Stossel is given more time to pollute the show.

No doubt the qualifiers at the end of Stossel's segment were to avoid lawsuits. Question, did Stossel clear his comments with ABC lawyers before the broadcast or does he act as his own? HYPOCRITE!

If there are not election laws that were violated by this segment then perhaps there should be. I plan to write to my representatives.

Gary
