Subject: Should Scalia receive communion? In the most recent death sentence case before the Supreme Court, Justice Scalia voted to uphold the death sentences of scores of defendants. The Pope and Holy See opposes the death penalty. Where is the logic of all this? If you vote for Kerry is this a sin? Please take a look at this! J.L.
Subject: Re: Today's Top 5 Headlines on BuzzFlash.com Cheney, has no more proof. I believe it's just another misstatement trying to convince the American people why they went to war. Bush and Cheney lied. They went to war for oil and retaliation for Bush's father. For this they should be impeached. A BuzzFlash Reader
Subject: Act to Stop the Killing and Rape in Darfur Sudan Dear friends, I just took took action today to help stop the killing, systematic rape and internal displacement of people in Darfur, Sudan. Subject: THIS IS INFURIATING! Nader's not the enemy. Having said that, this article shows that an "R" rating isn't the biggest possible problem for Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" -- if the FCC rules the way David Bossie wants, the film won't be allowed to advertise after July 30. ‘Fahrenheit 9/11' ban? (thehill.com) Just absolutely infuriating. A BuzzFlash Reader
Subject: Ever Wonder Why? The GOP and Bush administration are doing everything they can to prevent "Fahrenheit 9/11" from doing a robust business at the box office. (If it's all lies, as they claim, what harm can a pack of lies possibly do Geedubya, eh?) Wonder why they're so scared of this little documentary? Read this and wonder no more... http://www.observer.com/pages/onthetown.aspSo, looks as though Michael Moore may be legally prevented from advertising his controversial new movie after July 30th. Wonder why? http://www.thehill.com/news/062404/moore.aspx If anything, the film doesn't go FAR ENOUGH in connecting the dots! So much damning info, so little time to research and film it all in time for a 2004 release...But let's not get too sidetracked. Ever wonder why Hussein went from being "Our Guy In Baghdad" to being the evil bad guy, resulting in Bush Gulf War 1? Hmmm, let's see, couldn't have anything to do with thwarted plans to build an underground pipeline through Iraq to Jordan, could it? That plan would have put potential billions into the pocket of Bechtel and, you guessed it, DICK CHENEY, and that proposal was initiated by Don Rumsfeld "at the behest" of former Bechtel Corporation President George Shultz, then passing time as Bush Senior's Secretary of State. This is the same Bechtel which built Saddam's "dual use" chemical industry and the very same company which was awarded multi-billion dollar mega-contracts after the 2003 Bush War 2. Ah yes, the good years, 1983-84, when Bush the Elder, Don Rumsfeld and Hussein were all friendly business pals, but Bechtel's plans were nixed by Hussein after he apparently received a better offer. He ultimately paid a much stiffer price than anticipated for his decision to not award the Iraq pipeline contract to the friends of his friends...Ever wonder why the U.S. launched a WAR on Afghanistan, ostensibly seeking the head of Osama bin Laden, but once they had eliminated the Taliban, apparently lost interest in capturing OBL? Wonder if it had anything to do with plans for an underground pipeline through AFGHANISTAN, pumping billions into a company owned by, you guessed it, current Vice President Dick Cheney, being thwarted by the Taliban regime... The 9/11 attack was, as some "nutty" folks like Richard Clarke, the former Bush administration's CIA Anti-Terrorism Czar, suggest, FORESEEN, FOREWARNED & DELIBERATELY IGNORED. Therefore, it was allowed to happen, for lack of a more diplomatic way of stating it.Wonder why? Don't think the powers that be foresaw the actual EXTENT of death & damage that was perpetrated by ignoring the repeated warnings about Al Qaeda. Or so you'd HOPE, otherwise these folks are even more cold-blooded and evil than I imagined... Well, it turns out that this long foretold 9/11 attack turned out to be even more than the Neocons could have hoped for, exactly the sort of devastating "Pearl Harbor" type catastrophe that Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz et al., all now firmly embedded in the Bush administration, needed to put their long developed plans for World Domination into immediate action. (From the PNAC 1997 Statement of Principles policy paper signed by, among others, Donald Rumsfeld, Jeb Bush, Paul Wolfowitz & Dick Cheney: It would take a “catalyzing event -- like a new Pearl Harbor...." )Turns out that Bush & Co really DID "hit the Trifecta" that day, just like he said! http://www.americanfreepress...Wonder why the Supreme Court has just ruled (Cheney's good friend and hunting buddy Nino Scalia playing his part in the deciding 7-2 vote) that the White House won't have to produce Cheney's May 2001 "Energy Task Force" papers till AFTER the November 02 election? Ever wonder what's in them that is so all fired hot & damning? http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=sto...Ever wonder why Ken Lay still hasn't been indicted on the ENRON SCANDAL? Could it have anything to do with the fact that Cheney and Bush's good buddy & former head of Enron sat on the "May 2001 Energy Task Force"? Could Ken Lay & Enron's & Dick Cheney's unquestionable business links to 2 unnecessary wars in 2 years in Iraq & Afghanistan have any bearing on the fact that this scoundrel still hasn't been indicted? Millions were spent publicly skewering Martha Stewart for her $40,000 stock trading transgression, but hands off Lay of ENRON, friend of Bush & Cheney... Nahh, that would sound too much like a conspiracy theory. http://www.counterpunch.org/cohn07302003.html Click here for a glimpse of the unbelievable shit that the public will be privy to once this insanely corrupt administration is booted out on their butts and mainstream media finally finds the cojones to REPORT the TRUTH... http://www.alternet.org/story/12525 These guys better heavily arm themselves with a battalion of lawyers because once Cheney's out of office, the protective kid gloves are OFF! Subject: F*** Me? No, F*** You, Buddy! Hi Gang! You know, I speak fluent "French" as much as the next fellah and I'm a big fan of George Carlin's "Incomplete List of Impolite Words." But, boy, isn't it telling when Dick Cheney decides to use it, on the Senate floor, and it gets reported? Sounds like the pressure is building up and all hell is about to break loose. I seem to remember at one time someone talking about the fabled "October Surprise" in regards to politics. Gee...isn't this fun? We're getting a "surprise" every month...and every time, Shrubya's Infestation of the White House just keeps pounding nails into its own re-election hopes coffin by causing the uproar every time! Cheney curses Leahy on Senate floor (msnbc.msn.com) Oh, and before I forget, yet another "surprise" has festered into a purulent boil...Iran has resumed its uranium enrichment program and, according to the State Department, may be or may have already stockpiled chemical weapons. What makes me giggle is that the State Department says that Iran's nuk-u-ler weapons program is a "threat to international peace and security." So...since we have a nuk-u-ler weapons program ourselves...what does this make us? Iran says it will resume enriching uranium (cnn.com) Jerry

Subject: Thank God for Al Gore's candor Dear BuzzFlash: Your article "Gore accuses Bush, Cheney of lying about link between al-Qaida and Iraq" (sfgate.com) jumped off the page at me. Thank God someone has the guts to say it. I love Al Gore.... During the campaign of 2000 I wrote to his campaign at least once a week begging them to fight back against the lies being circulated by the Bush campaign team. Of course everyone knows now that Al didn't fight back. Al took the high road. Sadly when it comes to this bunch of criminals the high road is like a welcome mat that they wipe their feet on right before they beat the hell out of you. I think John Kerry observed enough during 2000 not to let that happen to him.Al Gore was the victim of one lie after another. I was so ticked off over the way Al was treated by the Bush team that I wore an Al Gore tee shirt to vote in defiance of state law. The poll watcher in Nashville asked me to leave. I refused and he told me if I wanted to vote I would have to cover up Al's name on the shirt, so I turned the bottom of my shirt up and stood in line to vote with my belly showing. I love you Al. You are our voice crying in the wilderness and at least half of all Americans are listening to what you have to say. NEVER BACK DOWN!!!!!! We will continue to listen and support you as long as you have the courage to keep telling the truth about this bunch of animals. THANK GOD FOR YOUR COURAGEOUS SOUL. Carolyn

Subject: Teacher/Terror Suspect Arrested At New York's Kennedy Airport today, an individual later discovered to be a public school teacher was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square, a slide rule, and a calculator. At a morning press conference, Attorney General John Ashcroft said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-Gebra movement. He is being charged by the FBI with carrying Weapons of Math Instruction. "Al-Gebra is a fearsome cult," Ashcroft said. "They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y' and refer to themselves as 'unknowns,' but we have determined they belong to a common denominator of the "Axis of Medieval," with coordinates in every country. As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle." When asked to comment on the arrest, President Bush said, "If God had wanted us to have better Weapons of Math Instruction, He would have given us more fingers and toes." nerdeaux in Idyho
Subject: The Party of Job Creation As a follow-up to my post about the Bush administration's imaginary jobs, which you were kind enough to post a link to (thanks very much for that), I did some research and compared the Democrats' record for job creation since WWII. Bottom line: Since World War II, the Democrats have held the White House for 27 years and the Republicans for 31. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, during the Democrats' 27 years in power since 1946, over 59 million non-farm jobs were created. During the Republicans' 31 years, only 31.3 million jobs were created. Handy red-blue chart on this as well. Subject: Quiz: Just How Bizarre Have Things Become? For quite a while I have been noticing Maureen Farrell's quiz, "Just How Bizarre Have Things Become?" in the menu of options. Not being able to read them all, I would pass over this quiz to give preference to news items, interviews, etc. Today I finally decided to take the quiz but first I hurriedly scanned the quiz to see what it was all about and I estimate I could correctly answer about one-third of the questions without having to read the possible answers. When I started taking the quiz I decided my best strategy would be, if I wasn't completely sure of the answer, I would select the most stupid (not merely bizarre) of the options given. My final score was 19 correct out of the 20 questions. Makes me wonder if choosing stupid options is what Mr. Bush and his people are doing -- but failing miserably. You're correct, Ms. Farrell, things have become very stupid (bizarre). In fact, they are stupider than stupid. Bill SybertDallas, Texas
Subject: Pentagon and Air Force Being Sued Buried down at the bottom of a page in the Palm Beach Post this am was this article: The Associated Press is suing the Pentagon and Air Force, seeking access to all records of GW Bush's military service during the Vietnam War. It was filed in federal court in New York. Want to bet we will never see this in a major headline or ever hear the results? Even the supposedly "liberal" newspapers now seem to be giving GWB a free ride. The PB Post gets letters constantly accusing them of being "too liberal." Then why do they bury these little tidbits which are unfavorable to Bush? AP sues for access to Bush Guard records (Seattle Post) On another note, "I'm Loving It!" Every minute of the Bill Clinton interviews is music to my ears. The snide remarks by the media elite, the repugnant "dog in the manger" republican talk show hosts and the Bush loving columnists are bringing me the most laughs and good humor I have had for three and a half years. Chortle, Chortle, Chortle. The Bush lies have made Clinton's lie pale in comparison. On another good note, a republican friend just asked me to bring him a voter registration so he can can change to Democrat and a Bush fan niece has changed her mind. She says she does not know who will get her vote, but it will not be Bush. The tide is turning. Pisces
Subject: Something I wouldn't let a 10 year old get away with... ''Cheney Utters 'F-Word' in Senate -- Aides'' (Reuters) If the Republicans really want to claim to be the ''family values'' party, they should wash Cheney's mouth out with soap. Subject: Michael Moore on the Early Show Dear BuzzFlash,I saw Michael Moore being interview by Hannah Storm on the CBS Early Show this AM (Friday). She tried her best to make it seem as if Fahrenheit 9/11 was an unfair view of baby bush's administration, etc., but Moore wouldn't let her bait him. He asked her the same thing he asked Matt Lauer on NBC recently -- why didn't the media ask hard questions before the preemptive strike on Iraq? It was wonderful! This is the sort of thing Tom Daschle should have been doing when he's been on talk shows in the past! R. M. Johnson
As Joe Pesci would say, "okay, okay, okay." I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 last night. I have to say I went to the ACLU benefit show already a bit angry for a variety of reasons, so I was genuinely surprised at my gut reaction to the film. When I staggered out of the theatre, I was seething. What's so remarkable about it is that there was not one area of subject matter in it that I was not already aware of. I read a lot, including the foreign press, and follow current events closely. So for that reason Michael Moore deserves a lot of credit for the masterful way he tied everything together. It is a powerful film and one that everyday, garden variety (not the power elite) Republicans should see. They have nothing in common with the "Republicans" featured in the film. Democrats should see the film, too, to get a bird's-eye view of how feckless and weak their party leadership has been. I can remember as far back as the Viet Nam war to a common poster with the inscription: "War is not healthy for children and other living things." To hear those injured soldiers screaming in agony from their wounds (in the film) just tore at my heart. To see the bodies of those dead children and babies tossed into the back of a truck like so much garbage had an effect I cannot adequately describe to you. To actually see footage of marine recruiters preying on the disadvantaged must be considered a national disgrace. If only November 2nd gave voters the same opportunities as American Idol: that is, call with your vote as often as you can. This morning CNN showed a clip of a very feisty Irish journalist (gee I wish we had some here) interviewing Bush. She refused to let him get away with the kind of crap he's always spouting that the corporate media puppets in America go blithely along with -- like the world being a safer place now that Saddam is out of power. Bush got really pissed at her -- visibly so -- when she challenged him on that and pointed out that there are far more incidents of terrorism now than there were before Bush's illegal war on Iraq (causing him again to try to lamely connect Saddam to 9/11). That little mouse's only claim to fame is that he's a Democrat supporting Bush. It's time to toss the little twerp overboard. Subject: Wash the VEEP's Mouth Out With Soap -- "Big Time" Hello Again to BuzzFlash and to all BuzzFlash readers, Is V.P. Dick "Big Time" Cheney becoming un-hinged? The stress of the job of Presidential Puppeteer is obviously getting to him. Remember "Big Time's" response to GeeDubya's "Major League A**Hole" comment (about Adam Clymer of the NY Times)? And now, "Big Time" is acting real Vice-Presidential-Manly-like by verbally assaulting an ELECTED United States Senator, Patrick Leahy of Vermont, with the tried and true Mother-of-all epithets: "F*** yourself!" Such Language!! What a far cry from statements such as "changing the tone in Washington," "restoring . . . civility and respect and cooperation." That's some tone he has taken! Seems as though he has "other priorities" than acting with civility. Mr. Cheney isn't acting like much of a Patriot, is he? Let's take a quick look at his Patriotic report card, shall we?
And now, cursing out a former colleague and a Patriotic American during a photo-op. He ought to be placed in a corner all by himself, because he doesn't play well with his classmates. And his report card will reflect his behavior: "U" for Un-Satisfactory. Looks as though it's high time that "Big Time" gets his mouth washed out with soap. Warmest
