Subject: A Friend in Need is a Friend in Deed... After the events of September 11, 2001, and before the start of the military
operation in Iraq, Russian special services several times received information
that the official services of the Saddam regime were preparing 'terrorist
acts' on the United States and beyond its borders," he told reporters. Russian
'warning' on Saddam puzzles US. (ABC News Online) Maria Subject: McCain has been bought off by the Bush Cartel Dear Fellow BuzzFlash Readers: Greetings from the Christian Liberal. Thought I'd check in with all
of you on the latest developments as we head towards our own version of
"D" day, which is November 2nd. I see Sen. John McCain (who was one of my last hopes for a decent GOP in
their bunch) has kissed and made up with GeeDubya and is planning to campaign
for a man who slandered him, his wife and family, four years ago, when McCain
stomped him in the first four Republican primaries. Isn't anyone wondering
what has turned McCain from maverick GOP to GeeDubya's prostitute? Especially
since he got a legit invitation from John Kerry to actually run for VP?
Well, fellow Buzzers, not too much gets past the Christian Liberal. The long and short of it: MC CAIN's BEEN BOUGHT OFF BY THE BUSH CARTEL.
I don't know if he's been promised a truckload of money, or a key Cabinet
position (maybe replacing Rummy, Ashcroft, Condosleezza or Colin) should
the Cartel gain or steal the election again. I'm just wondering how
could Sen. McCain be so, ahem, "FORGIVING" of GeeDubya. Could it be
that GeeDubya has come out of the continual chemical haze he seems to be
in and realizes an angry John McCain could be very dangerous to his campaign?
I think the Reagan family will be the next ones on GeeDubya's list to be
"dealt with." They will tell Nancy to shut up about the nonsense of
stem-cell research, and watch how swiftly they muzzle the Reagan children
and force them to hit the stump for GeeDubya's election. However,
I also expect the Nancy Reagan of old to show up and should GeeDubya or
his handler, Karl Rove, decide to go after the recent widow in her fragile
state, that might be more than GOPers can handle and they will stay away
on November 2nd (we hope). Just a thought. Till next time; stay strong, stay focused and most
of all, Be Wonderfully and Richly Blessed. Leutisha Stills one of the most loyal readers and supporters

9/11 can top this movie, but this weekend I will see. For one, it
gave me great respect for foreign journalism. Say what they want
about Al Jazeera, but it is truly an outfit engulfed in professionalism.
The fact that Condi Rice labeled them biased and unprofessional translates
to they are not drinking our war propaganda. This was a fascinating
movie. It made me cry to think about what was truly happening in
the Iraq war. It gave me great hope to see that the rest of the
world was not as totally STUPID as the majority of the American electorate. One very telling line in the movie: "Who will stop this shift toward
American Imperialism: Only Americans." At this point, only we Americans
can stop Bush, it is a fact otherwise all is lost. In addition, this
person that runs Al Jazeera says HE BELIEVES in the American CONSTITUTION. Truly fascinating. Almost too intellectually deep for Americans
to comprehend. Didn't Dodgeball make the most money this weekend? P Jones Subject: Afghanistan casualty count http://lunaville.org/OEF/default.aspx
While not anywhere near as comprehensive as its Iraq casualty count (so
little information is Subject: 7 MINUTE SILENCE? On
9/11, a Telling Seven-Minute Silence (washingtonpost.com) I called that reporter to thank him for the article -- but to also
ask if he didn't know that Bu$h was informed of a problem *before*
he left the hotel. His response was less than reassuring,
although he did tell me to send him information supporting my claim.
(A reporter asked him as he was leaving the hotel if he knew what was
going on in New York. Response: "Yes. We'll have a
statement about that later." Plausible deniability: If you
don't get the details about the crash you can pretend you didn't realize
the seriousness of the situation. But, after 1993, how could *anything*
hitting the WTC not be worth a few minutes delay in order to find out
what it was?) Carolyn Gray Subject: Who wants to be a Millionaire? Just last week I ran into an old friend whose brother recently returned
from serving with the military in Iraq. He's chosen not to
renew his contract
with Uncle Sam. And luckily, he received his discharge orders
before the U.S. issued the general stop-loss
order. Yes, he will be going back to Iraq, and doing essentialy
the same job. Just not with the military. He's accepted a position with a firm to work as
part of a large security force already established there. He's
actually pretty excited about it because he'll be making
$150,000.00 monthly, totin' a gun for one of Halliburton's
many security subcontractors. No, that figure is not a typo. His parents and friends are begging him not to go back, but he hasn't
been able to find a job stateside doing what Uncle Sam trained
him to do and what he has had most experience doing. I just wonder if those profiteering corporations hiring our ex-soldiers are
offering tax shelter counseling for the cool $1.8 million he'll
be pulling down that first year. But I really don't see how they
can afford to award perks like that, because they're paying to
fly grief counselors to the families of those
who have lost their lives for their paycheck On top of that,
they're not even going to bill
us for their fine work at Abu Ghraib, at least not until they
get that legal thing behind them. Coincidentally, on the very same day, another acquaintance emailed
a website address to me which displays the nightmarish photos
of the last American that was beheaded. As far as I could tell,
the reason this guy sent it to me was to underscore his position
that we should be in Iraq. I can tell this is the point he wanted to make because the
link takes me to a "gung-ho kill 'em all let God sort 'em out" pro-Iraq
war website (although the most recent decapitation took place in Saudi
Arabia). After visiting the website, I calmly wrote to remind him that even
though the press keeps simply calling the guys that were beheaded
"Americans," the fact is that every single one of them were
"contractors." Folks from other cultures might call them "mercenaries,"
especially those who are being tortured and murdered in their
own country for corporate profits! This guy had reassured me "going in" that Iraq would
be a short war, which would automatically cause peace to
just "catch on" all over the mideast. I guess by sending that
link he's now saying that we must "stay the course" in his own charming
neoconservative way. Meanwhile, the Rent-a-gun is constructing 14 military
bases in Iraq to help "secure the peace" in Iraq. Let's not
forget that although we lost over 30,000 troops in the Korean War,
a half-century later we still have over 37,000 based there.
That is, until they redeploy
those troops to Iraq. That's right, 14
military bases, even though the evil and most powerful Saddam
Hussein has been captured, and we've vanquished those
vaunted stockpiles of WMD. Oh well. At least Bush's mideast connections and his
successful Iraq adventure has kept our energy prices from
skyrocketing. One Citizen Subject: You Know the GOP is Scared When... Dear BuzzFlash Readers: 'Tis me, again, your favorite Christian Liberal, LOL. I thought
I'd check in with a ditty that can be said to the tune of Jeff Foxworthy's
"You Must Be a Redneck," only it's called, "You know the GOP is
Scared When..." Hope you enjoy it, and let's keep it going for a
spell. You know the GOP is scared when: John Ashcroft can be in contempt of Congress when he refuses to
obey their request for information; then he goes on TV with a terrorist
alert to scare everybody and distract our attention from the fact
that he's the worst Attorney General since Ed Meese. Saxby Chambliss used the Vietnam wounds of Max Cleland to challenge
Cleland's patriotism to win the Senate seat in 2002. Now we have
the "tit-for-tat" threat of ethics charges against a prominent democrat,
because someone had the guts to go after Tom "Rip-Off Artist" DeLay. Ann Coulter uses her column to trash, spew venom and lie against
anyone who's a Democrat, liberal or does not agree with her. Why
does she still have a job? But then again, we could ask the same
question about Judith Miller. The GOP Political Consultants start a weblog to attack Michael
Moore for making truthful documentaries that expose the Bush Gang
for what they are and who they REALLY represent. (Farenheit 9/11)
Colin Powell goes on TV and admits to the lies that have been told
about the war in Iraq. Bob Barr tries to sue Bill Clinton, James Carville and Larry Flynt,
and the judge told him to take a hike. Courting Ralph Nader in order to split "swing" votes, and using
Al Sharpton to split the African-American vote because they know
he's angling to be the next Jesse Jackson. They have to have Jeb Bush rig another election in Florida with
paperless voting. They deify Ronald Reagan and whitewash what the man did to America
for eight years. His only blessing is that he couldn't remember
how he devastated the country with his policies. GeeDubya has to go to the Pope to get him to whip the American
bishops in line ("some of the Bishops are not with me..."). How
convenient that GeeDubya would go to the Pope; could it be that
the Christian right have started to study their Bibles and come
to different conclusions then he has? Let's not forget that the
sexual abuse of children in the Catholic Church got so much attention
that the American bishops should be trying to reinstall trust that
a priest won't molest any more children, instead of trying to tell
politicians how to decide and parishoners how to vote. They try to intimidate any and all forms of dissent by making Fox
Network News the channel of unfair and off balance. They developed the Patriot Act. They parade Condosleezza Rice on TV to reassure the country after
her truckfull of lies to the 9/11 commission. That's when you know the GOP is scared. I'm sure you can think
of some more. Leutisha Loyal Buzz Flash Reader and Proud Christian Liberal (if
you don't stand for something in November, you will fall for anything
thereafter! Please Vote!) Subject: emails Dear Buzz, I know I am lazy, but I am busy, too. I very much wish we could
use the mailbag for positive action. Along with every email it would
be nice if an email address or link would be provided so we all
could fire off emails to support the cause. 5 to 10 per day from
all of us should A Faithful BuzzFlash Reader It would seem to me that any state that doesn't have verifiable
electronic voting machines -- with paper trails -- could
be sued by all the other states. It is no longer a states
issue, as the outcome in any given state affects all
the other states with regard to the presidential election. Therefore, I think it would be prudent to file a law suit against
states like Florida for 3 reasons: 1) electronic voting machines
that don't have paper trails and can't do a re-count, if needed,
2) Witnesses are no longer required for absentee ballots in Florida
and 3) The number of so-called felons in Florida that are
purged from the eligible voting list and the lists are made public. I believe any state would have "standing to sue" a state like
Florida as the presidential election results in that
state directly affect all of the other states. So why not
start a legal fund to sue Florida and any other state that is
intending to jimmy the election?. Certainly I can already smell
Florida's 2004 vote in California and it's only June. Lastly, I would say that no State should have its electoral
votes counted, if they don't have certifiable election equipment.
Hank McCann Subject: anything and everything. Sirs, one has only to look at the reality of your news reporting
to wonder how in the hell did this country come to this point?
This place is a mess!!!! We have corruption of any and every kind
being done by everyone from the president on down to corporate
level and beyond. We have another Vietnam, except now there is
no where for the troops to hide or to take cover. Soldiers are
being killed at an ever increasing rate, and this fact gets 'no'
media coverage. Everyday there are new threats to the freedoms
of this country being done either by our so-called president,
or an ineffective, complacent Congress or the Inferior Court.
What else could you call the highest court in the land, whose
judges see nothing wrong with rubbing elbows with the biggest
crooks in the land, and say so publicly. And to top it all off, we, the voters of this country are facing
November elections where the possibility of a fixed election is
running very high. If one was betting on the likelihood, one would
bet on a fixed election. What exactly has happened to America? It has become the land of greed, murder, and un-speakable crimes
in too many high places. If America was a computer program, you
would delete the entire program, and start again. Perhaps that
is exactly what the voters this fall ought to do. Vote for 'no'
sitting Congressman or politican anywhere, and be prepared to
contest and raise a holy hell the likes of never heard before
in the face of any suggested, or hinted at, fixed election. And
continue to vote for no sitting politican in every election from
now on One term and out! It is more than time to take our country
back, and to demand accountabilty everywhere. Either we do so,
or be prepared to live in a country with less and less freedom
and more and more corruption, and more dead sons and daughters
in more wars, and less monies in our pockets, with more of our
tax dollars in the hands of crooked and evil people. Evil is the
key word here. Qzr. Subject: Joke of the Day http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3449870/ jj. |
