Subject: republicans can't even spell

Hi.

I just emailed several theaters in response to the censorship campaign of "Move America Forward" and noticed on their web site that they can't even spell Fahrenheit. Maybe you guys can do something with that.

Subject: GOD What an Idiot!!!

Bush’s response to Kerry’s speech today was hilarious (not to mention that the setting resembled nothing so much as a tent revival meeting complete with faith healing of the elderly). Bush said, “It’s easy to be pessimistic, if you look hard enough.” FUNNY!!! Yeah, you gotta look pretty hard to see our deficit spiraling out of control, our credibility in the world gone, tens of thousands killed and maimed on account of a lie, jobs evaporating and the ones remaining are paying ever less, fear and terror the watchwords of the day, an unholy alliance between kleptocrats and theocrats who are turning the greatest debating society in the world into single party control of the state…… I could go on. Who couldn’t? Yeah Georgie, gotta look hard.

Oh, did I mention the Executive has now given dictatorial power unto itself; including the power to torture, to imprison without charge, to seize property, to declare citizens “enemies of the state” without proof, right up to the power to kill. THAT’S RIGHT—KILL ON NOTHING MORE THAN THE WORD OF THE EXECUTIVE. Has it occurred to any liberty-loving American that an Administration that can claim the power to torture, imprison and kill foreigners alleged to be enemies, that they can just as easily do the same to Americans? Oh, you say, that would never happen. We know the line between foreign agents and domestic dissidents. Yes, WE might recognize that distinction, but there is no reason to believe that this administration does. To them, enemies are enemies. All one has to do is look at their public pronouncements to see that it is a short reach from one to the other.

You know, it’s no longer enough to say that we will confront this abomination at the ballot box. It is time NOW to call for impeachment of the whole lot. Currently there exists more than ample evidence to support at least introduction of a Bill of Impeachment. It is up to us, the citizens of this country to create the political will to call for impeachment.

I urge everyone reading this to call their representatives in Congress to demand Impeachment. I urge you to call each and every family member and encourage them to do the same. I urge you to walk your block. Just knock on 10 doors in your neighborhood and ask your neighbors to do likewise.

This is a government of the people, by the people, for the people. Now is the time for the people to prove it.

Subject: More Bush Administration Lies and Spin

However, Bush and Cheney also have sought to tie Iraq specifically to the 9/11 attacks. In a letter to Congress on March 19, 2003 -- the day the war in Iraq began -- Bush said that the war was permitted under legislation authorizing force against those who ''planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.''

Subject: Re: Apology for Iraqi Torture

I have not seen this link on your site yet:. www.faithfulamerica.org. It came to me through MoveOn and it is a short ad apologizing for the torture of the Iraqi prisoners and features four major religions: Protestant, Jewish, Muslim and Catholic. It was, I believe, to start on Tuesday on two stations in Iraq with sub-titles in English.

Even though it is sponsored by the National Council of Churches, it also gives those who are of no formal faith the opportunity to add their name to the list of Americans who find this torture absolutely sickening.

The press has given this some attention today. Hopefully enough people will sign to have their name included that the press will be forced to keep reporting on this.

Subject: Nominee for hypocrisy recognition......

Dear Buzz,

Usually I read The New Republic as a sort of "Bush-lite" propaganda sheet, The TNR wasn't always like that, but as the moderate D's and Rockefeller R's were gradually squeezed out by the increasingly right wing tilt of the magazine, only those of us D's and R's of a more news and views curious nature continued to endure the increasingly "Buckley-esque" editorial line.

For many, the last straw with TNR came with TNR's glowing support for Bush's adventurism in Iraq. Postured as both a strategic and moral crusade, TNR followed the pitch of "Plan Dubya From Outer Texas," as I like to call Bush's Iraq policy, to the last jot and tittle!

Anyway, it came as an incredible shock to me to receive this month's TNR and read the editor's attempt at an apology for their support of the Iraq war. I would ask your group of very professional journalists to observe how TNR attempts to cleverly parse words. It sounds so nice…..now.

Where was the parsing when TNR whooped for war? Now that at least 835 of our sons and daughters have died in Bush's fiasco in the desert, now that an American victory has been denied by an administration lost in sado-masochism as an interrogation technique, now that we have been driven into a huge deficit hole, now that our military is in a shambles, now TNR rethinks its position! Buzz, I realize that TNR may not be qualified for a BuzzFlash GOP H.O.T.W. award, but could you please give an honorable mention to these characters? Some might claim they are trying to apologize. I say RUBBISH! More than one apology will be required. TNR played the Pro-Bush echo chamber for the Iraq mess, and was all but lost in a torpor as the evidence soon unfolded that nothing like Bush's wild claims existed anywhere in Iraq, or in the region for that matter. Now that the game is up, TNR is trying to wiggle out of the bed it made up so well. TNR made its bed, let them sleep in it.

P.S... as for "Plan Dubya From Outer Texas," I admit to modifying the old Ed Wood movie title, "Plan Nine From Outer Space," to fit the situation. However, I believe the outcome of Bush's Iraq delusions could not have been more Ed Wood-like, if Ed Wood himself had directed this disaster! TNR should not be allowed to escape on a parsed apology, any more than Abu Ghraib should be viewed as "soldiers blowing off steam."

Thanks for BuzzFlash and your time,

Subject: Iraq-Al Qaeda Link: NY Times Wants to Know if Bush Lying or Just Delusional?

NY Times opines:

It's hard to imagine how the commission investigating the 2001 terrorist attacks could have put it more clearly yesterday: there was never any evidence of a link between Iraq and Al Qaeda, between Saddam Hussein and Sept. 11.

Now President Bush should apologize to the American people, who were led to believe something different.

...The staff report issued by the 9/11 panel says that Sudan's government, which sheltered Osama bin Laden in the early 1990's, tried to hook him up with Mr. Hussein, but that nothing came of it.

...Mr. Bush is right when he says he cannot be blamed for everything that happened on or before Sept. 11, 2001. But he is responsible for the administration's actions since then. That includes, inexcusably, selling the false Iraq-Qaeda claim to Americans. There are two unpleasant alternatives: either Mr. Bush knew he was not telling the truth, or he has a capacity for politically motivated self-deception that is terrifying in the post-9/11 world.

Subject: Pooty Poot

It's Friday.....here we go again...

All buzzies need to be on the look out for what is happening under the radar. Lord knows the media won't.

Breaking News on CNN...just after 6:00 am CDT...

Pooty Poot has just released news that the Russian Intel Agency warned the busheviks several times after 9/11 and before the invasion of Iraq that Iraqi terrorists intended to wreak terror attacks on America and American interests overseas.

Great timing don't ya think?

Just when the 9/11 commission reported that it found no credible evidence linking Iraq and the OBL terrorists that perpetrated 9/11...

Subject: GOP Hypocrite of the Week: Ronald Reagan

Dear BuzzFlash,

Your very astute and honest evaluation of the Reagan presidency is right on the mark. I couldn't agree more. The sleight of hand and hoodwinking that he produced was masterful. I knew this country was heading down a slippery slope of discontent and greed on the day he was elected.

After all, when you let yourself be bought and paid for by the right wing idealogues of our corporate elite, what can we expect? Sadly, the fact that there were so many who would follow lemming-like into the abyss of narrow-mindedness he stood for, shows how uneducated people are about the government and what the parties Republican, and Democrat, stand for.

I blame Democrats for not challenging him and those who espouse the pig-headed ideas which have diminished our great country in the eyes of foreign nations, who in the past looked to us for guidance. The people who paid for his ascendency are the poor, disadvantaged, and dead in Central America who did not have a "gipper" to speak for them.

Subject: DeLay to Be Subject of Ethics Complaint

A DeLay ally, Rep. John T. Doolittle (R-Calif.), said Republicans "are going to have to respond in kind" by filing ethics charges against key Democrats. From now on, he said in an interview, it's a matter of "you kill my dog, I'll kill your cat."

DeLay to Be Subject of Ethics Complaint (Washington Post)

Sorry, Republicans, you started this about 12 years ago with the continuous attacks against Clinton.

Every move Clinton made was criticized. He could do no right, even if he did right.  When one attack did not work, another would start.  Millions poured down the tube over investigations.

I remember seeing this, and thinking "Do the Republicans REALLY think if they start doing this, it won't happen to them?"

Or, "If you sew the wind, you reap the whirlwind."

Hope you liked your 'special order,' folks.

Subject: Ron Reagan blasts Bush

I was watching a clip of a Ron Reagan interview this morning on the "Today Show." He made it very clear that he does NOT want the Bush Administration riding on the coat tails of his father's presidency. "This is their war" he said and they will have to live with the consequences.

When asked about his statements regarding religion and politcs during his eulogy at the
funeral - he blasted the administration (indirectly) by stating that he believes there is a lot of false piety being used for political gain. Hmmmmm..... makes me wonder if Little Ron and Nancy, with her stance against Dubya and stem cell research, might just be ready to kick little Georgie to the curb come November.... You go girls!

Subject: fox "mis-statement"

Dear BuzzFlash-

Fox's Roger Friedman gave "Fahrenheit 9-11" a surprisingly reasonable review. He would have been even more moved by the classroom scene had he realized (or reported) that Scooter Libby was telling Bush that the second tower had been hit--not the first..

From Friedman's review:

The most indelible is Bush's reaction to hearing on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, that the first plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. Bush was reading to a grade-school class in Florida at that moment. Instead of jumping up and leaving, he instead sat in front of the class, with an unfortunate look of confusion, for nearly 11 minutes.

It has been widely reported that Bush knew of the first hit before he entered the classroom. Fox spreads misinformation even in a positive movie review!

Thanks for your great work. BuzzFlash is my favorite site.

Subject: RE: Cheney's claim

BuzzFlash,

Cheney is claiming the following;

...Blaming what he called "lazy" reporters for blurring the distinction, Vice President Dick Cheney said that while "overwhelming" evidence shows a past relationship between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida, the Bush administration never accused Saddam of helping with the Sept. 11 attacks.

"We have never been able to prove that there was a connection there on 9/11," he said in the CNBC interview that aired on NBC's "Today" show Friday....

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5233810/

Remember his greatest hits?

Cheney for Bush (MSNBC)
"...[claimed that if the U.S. succeeds in Iraq] "we will have struck a major blow right at the heart of the base, if you will, the geographic base of the terrorists who have had us under assault now for many years, but most especially on 9/11...."
Cheney for Bush
"... "it's been pretty well confirmed that he did go to Prague and he did meet with a senior official of the Iraqi intelligence service in Czechoslovakia last April, several months before the attack."..."

Cheney for Bush (MSNBC)
"... MR. RUSSERT: The Washington Post asked the American people about Saddam Hussein, and this is what they said: 69 percent said he was involved in the September 11 attacks. Are you surprised by that?
VICE PRES. CHENEY: No. I think it's not surprising that people make that connection..."

Subject: I just can't believe it...

Please forgive an old woman for asking this question:  Is it a fact that Putin all of a sudden states that he knew Saddam Hussein planned to attack the US? I just can't believe he is cozying up to Bush and feeds into his lies. Please help me and tell me it isn't so!

What is going on? Bush will stay in the WH if all these "Leaders" of the world all of a sudden agree with the lies he fed to us. (Bush is just a cute fellow, he runs the country no more than I do...the administration he fronts is the one we need to impeach, charge with genocide and all the war crimes that have been perpetrated on the civilians in Iraq.)

Subject: "Bring it on"

Hi Buzz,

So Bush's response to a question about Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 showing prompted his typical response, "Bring it on!"

You'd think he would have learned not to say that. The last time he said those words, they did just that!

Subject: Is the media over the McCain nonsense yet?

McCain is going to campaign with Bush, who lied about him and slandered him. Take it from this Arizonan. Forget McCain and stop idolizing him as though "he really isn't too Republican." McCain is as bad as anyone in the GOP. Worse, for the fact that he is their doormat.

Subject: RNC Membership Drive

Hey Buzzers,

I received a membership pledge packet from the Repugnant National Committee including a handy postage-paid reply envelope. Which I stuffed with fifteen pages of suitable TRUTH (about all it would hold) culled from BuzzFlash and sent it back. A small gesture, but if they see THOUSANDS of these it could conceivably make an effect. At the very least, it'll cost them money and time.

Subject: John McCain

Did you hear that introduction of the Commander in chief (thief) today at Ft. Lewis, Washington, by JOHN MCCAIN? Happened to hear a little of hush-rush show later and he was gloating on how McCain got over on the democrats. I kinda liked McCain until I heard him gushing about Bushy. It was a real sugar-coated, Karan Hughes script. Just horrible John!!
Glad he won't be on a ticket with Kerry!

Subject: Rumsfeld/Law-enforcement issue???

9/11 Tapes Reveal Ground Personnel Muffled Attacks (Gail Sheehy, NY Observer)

At the end of this article...
What's more, the decades-old procedure for a quick response by the nation's air defense had been changed in June of 2001. Now, instead of NORAD's military commanders being able to issue the command to launch fighter jets, approval had to be sought from the civilian Defense Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld. This change is extremely significant, because Mr. Rumsfeld claims to have been "out of the loop" nearly the entire morning of 9/11. He isn't on the record as having given any orders that morning. In fact, he didn't even go to the White House situation room; he had to walk to the window of his office in the Pentagon to see that the country's military headquarters was in flames. Mr. Rumsfeld claimed at a previous commission hearing that protection against attack inside the homeland was not his responsibility. It was, he said, "a law-enforcement issue." Why, in that case, did he take onto himself the responsibility of approving NORAD's deployment of fighter planes?
