Subject: How Do Modern Day Republicans "Support Our Troops?"

How do Modern Day Republicans and Neo-Cons " Support Our Troops?"

1) Lie to them about the reasons for a war

2) Send them into a hostile foreign desert-lands without proper supplies and preparation--
-without body armor, still
-without armored vehicles, still
-without enough water
-without enough MRE’s
-without adequate support lines
-without enough "N" strength-- Troop Strength Numbers, still

3) Set up prison-gulags and fill them with-- up to 90%-- innocent-every-day civilians.

4) Put our Troops under the Command of Non-Military private-company civilians to conduct military affairs on POWs and Civilians.

5) Order our troops to abuse these prisoners to see if they can get any information:
-in opposition to the US Constitution–‘Cruel and unusual punishment" and against their oaths of Duty these soldiers took to uphold the laws and principles of our land
-breaking Geneva Conventions on POW's and Civilian Prisoners
-breaking US Treaties on Torture

6) Placing the Torture blame on low level enlisted men when the crimes became public.

7) Court martial and investigate these Troops and cover-up the events and protect the higher ranks and the " contract" civilians who planned and ordered the torture.

8) Lied to the US Public to keep the truth about our soldiers and illegal "war" quiet.

9) Pulled our National Guard and Reserves away from the Homeland, away from their jobs and families-- to send to the illegal war.

10) Repeatedly increased their deployment period in the war theater.

11) Cut their health benefits, combat pay and VA hospital funding while they are deployed.

12) Made it illegal to SEE the returning coffins of the dead Troops as they came home.

13) Mock Hearings in the Senate and Congress that provide more cover-up for the higher up commands–while insisting more lies–that a handful of Privates did all the prison crimes.

14) Spent over $300 billion for an illegal war while cutting funds for the schools and overall health of Our Troop's own nation–here at home.

15) Bankrupted the Federal Treasury at Home and run Deficits and debts that the Soldiers and their children will have to pay.

16) Conducted "Offshoring" and "Outsourcing" of the Domestic job base–further making the Troop’s return, employment and pay down of this Debt an impossible task.

17) Placed the Troops under a "Commander-in-Chief" who was AWOL from the National Guard where he evaded the draft.

18) Undermined the Spirit and Letter of the US Constitution nearly at every turn–including the now apparent truth–of Who Is Not the Commander in Chief-- that others Command Our Troops–at the top, Cheney, Generals, Rumsfeld, Others- and not Bush III --and in the theater of War–'contractor--privateers' Command our Troops.

19) All-in-All- do these things in a Backwards claim of American Values and Principles while actually following the values of Greed, Gluttony, Rage, Pride, Vanity.

20) THIS is How Modern Republicans and Neo Cons Support Our Troops. Where Do You Stand? Are you with Them or Against Them? As ‘they’have dictatorial stated-- and Insisted We All Ask Ourselves?

Add You Own and Share with Your Fellow Citizens . . .

Subject: Zell Miller GOPHOTW

Dear BuzzFlash:

Thanks for making Zell Miller the GOPHOTW. It is a richly deserved honor. It also saddens me greatly, however, because as a former Georgia resident I remember Zell as a progressive governor who made positive changes for the state. I also remember a great speech he gave at the Democratic National Convention (memory fails as to which one it was). People were standing to yell "Give 'em hell, Zell!". I guess we should be careful what we ask for.

Cynthia Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had a great column on this subject which was carried Saturday in my local paper, the Gainesville Sun. Perhaps you could post a link to her column; she is a much better, more articulate writer than I, and her column poignantly expresses the sadness and disappointment a lot of us feel regarding Zell's late-life regression. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Subject: Chalabi

Dear Buzz:

What struck me, upon hearing of the dust up at Chalabi's residence, is that this may well be a set up. Bush Inc. now realizes that Chalabi has no credibility in Iraq, yet he remains their man. To buy him some support, an invasion of his home was staged in order to make it look like he has fallen out of favor with the US. Obviously, I have no proof of this, but it is a plausible scenario.

What in the world is this man's problem. Does he live in a democratic district, and so cannot run as a republican. Truth is, I can't watch the man almost as much as I can't watch George Bush!

He is truly an ulcer waiting to happen.

I wish he was just gone...we do not need anymore rightwingnuts to contend with in this day and age and with what is going on in the White House.

Subject: The prescription drug card

Greetings BuzzFlash.

I was reading your Email tonight which was regarding the availably of your site to anyone for free, (Re: So Here's the Deal with BuzzFlash...What's the Price of Democracy?) and I starting to write you a thank you note, which as an AIDS patient unable to work I have done in the past. A sincere thank you note is also still free.

In writing it, I asked my partner a question, which led to a discussion about the prescription drug card benefit, currently being shoved down our throats by the DC hawks, who apparently ate, and replaced the circling buzzards which once presided over the sick and dying population in our little compassionately conservative theocracy, oligarchy, plutocracy, or whatever it is we have been reduced too under this hostile occupying administration.

My partner gave me a new insight on this issue, due to his MD, and his MBA in healthcare administration, as well as his many years in the profession, and I thought it was time to publicly look at the facts, from my point of view.

I will be among those using them, and feel that since I have access to someone who can provide rational answers to these questions, I owe it to everyone else using them, to share the information I have received.

Basically when you cut through the misleading diatribe from the administration, and reach the actual facts, they prove that the cards will be as bogus as everything else has that the bush cultists have promised, yet failed to deliver. The card itself is charge based, which means that the pharmaceutical industry has discretion on the costs to be set for the drugs themselves, with no price controls in place, i.e., price caps, which as anyone who has ever shopped in America can attest to, will act as a stimulus for price increases for the drugs, they will become inflationary therefore adding to the cost burden we already have.

I don't think many are aware that if you become disabled after putting in many years as a tax payer, but not long enough to actually become a senior you pay substantial penalties for it in the amount of your monthly stipend, which is often hundreds of dollars less each month to “live on.”

For example a person such as myself generates about $750.00 per month. Then in order to obtain the services required by an AIDS patient to live, it becomes necessary to purchase additional insurance for an additional $150.00 plus each month. Each office visit as well as every prescription covered has a CO payment of twenty or twenty-five dollars, brand name drugs are higher, and in my particular case some medications I require are not covered at all, and must be paid for in cash, and in full amount. That can, as it is in my case cost two hundred plus a month.

With an inflationary cost system in place with no controls to assure that price gauging, or formulary changes, or what drugs are covered each week by those cards, to be set by drug companies, one can only draw the logical conclusion that every trip to refill a prescription is likely to be a new experience.

The health of Americans is at risk now, because patients, not doctors will have to make the decisions each refill, about what drugs proportionately justify cutting the few remaining dollars we have left to “live on,”off.

I acquired AIDS at work, but due to my lifestyle, and the fact that it was 1985, I was unable to continue the plan I had with my job, because despite the overwhelming proof that it came from the patient who's blood I was exposed too, or that my partner was, and is today still HIV negative, I was not equipped to combat a legal system that was not prepared for this health crises at that time.

I have since outlived the statute of limitations on any recourse other than living well is the best revenge. Given the fact that I do not know one person today with AIDS, that I knew in the beginning that is still alive today, I can only try to accept that as a blessing, as I am sure that it is, and let the anger go. Despite being someone who slipped through the cracks, and no doubt would have achieved a different result today, there are far too many of us forced to decide how to live well off of less than two hundred dollars a month, before paying rent, or buying groceries.

My spouse and I though not married, have spent over twenty-two years together, and obviously whether legal, or not my relationship is what sustained my life both spiritually, and financially. How unfortunate it is that this administration feels that not recognizing us as a couple, will somehow save the institution of heterosexual marriage. Even sadder though is the fact that over fifty percent of those marriages have failed to achieve what we already have, so I that is one institution, I am happily not committed to.

Sarcasm aside, we are going to be facing yet another financial blight on our country which was not necessary, and was sponsored by Dubya, and company, and it is time to really address these political obscenities one by one, and take clear, swift action to salvage what little we have left, before slave wages become more than a figure of speech, and before placing the elderly on ice burgs, and pushing them out to sea replaces long term healthcare as a viable solution to aging.

Personally I still have great hope for myself, and our nation, that we can overcome this, and live through the nazi like movement we are seeing again, in the concentration camp like atrocities committed in Iraq. We have to secure a place to start. Ousting this administration seems like the place to at least begin the mounting work in front of us.

God help us all. In my forty two years of life, I have never seen anything like this before.

Dear Letters to the Editor,

In an article by Bob Herbert it was reported that Staff SGT. Camilo Mejia of the Florida National Guard is under court martial for desertion because he refused to return to Iraq after his furlough. If convicted he will “spend a year in prison and receive a bad-conduct discharge.”How can that be? His commander-in-chief George W. Bush refused a mandatory medical exam and was thus unable to fly for the Texas Air National Guard, and did not report for duty for 8 months during the bloody Vietnam war. Is this not also “desertion”? How did he obtain an honorable discharge and become President without a court-martial and prison time?

Subject: Firemen in flag draped boxes

Dear Buzz,

It is becoming evermore evident the arrogant hypocrisy of not only this administration, but the ranking officials of its Party and the yellow corporate press that supports them. Yesterday, the undeserved butt-reaming by the 9-11 Whitewash Committee to the New York Police and Fire Departments for what the Committee referred to as poorly planned and executed rescue efforts in the World Trade Towers tragedy was nothing less than absurd! Especially when you consider the more than accommodating love-fest between Bush/Cheney and the Committee they tried to pass off as a legitimate independent investigation.

It's an obvious trademark of the Bush Regime and the GOP to cover their blunders and inept policies by blaming the "little-guy"! Like the "small few" who will unfairly absorb the life and career destroying punishment more deserving of those at the top who implemented the foul policy to torture Iraqi detainees, the so-called mistakes by the NY Police and Fire departments are blamed for the deaths of thousands on 9-11. It seems the very people vigorously courted by GOP for votes are the same people the GOP most viciously exploits and uses as scapegoats. The most shining [sic] example, among many, is the planned use of "ignorant Cumberland hillbillies" as prison guards in Iraq to "soften up" detainees for interrogation. These poor saps, who most likely voted Repuglican in prior elections, will now suffer punishment and brutal condemnation by their peers and the press for the sick and deeply flawed morals of their so-called god elected leaders.

The former NY Chief of Police should have told the Whitewash Committee the terrorists didn't draw him a road map on how they were going to attack their city that day. Why not? It was a worthy and acceptable excuse for their pResident! And apparently an excuse for the City's poorly planned disaster program from the so-called 9-11 hero and Repuglican NY Mayor, Rudy Goony-anni, wasn't needed. The Committee never asked.

Obviously, to the GOP and their Committee the only good Firemen are Firemen in flag draped boxes posing with Bush in vote producing political ads. And the only heroic Policeman is a dead one whose Mother gives Bush her Son's badge to hold up to the audience in his speech!

In contrast, the Pentagon's policy forbidding pictures of the flag draped coffins containing fallen soldiers honorably arriving at Dover Air Force Base and Bush's refusal to publicly honor those who died in his bogus war, exemplifies further the absurd hypocrisy that plagues our Nation's elitist ruling Party. According to Repuglicans, the only good and honorable soldier is live and ready cannon fodder, cheering for war in photo-ops! However, the most ironic twist in their Rovian photo-op strategy showing their Dear Leader posing with Black school children and Firemen in flag draped coffins, is its design to bamboozle the Nascar Dads and Soccer Moms living in Ohio and other state's suburbs into voting Republican in the next election. Considering this Republican propaganda has proven highly successful in the past, and will most likely be proven successful in 2004, especially in electing Veteran benefit stripping Repuglicans to Congress; who really are the ignorant ones? Those who live in the small rural communities of the Cumberland hills who not only proudly serve and die for the protection of their country, but take the fall for their leaders, or the patriotic flag waving arm-chair warriors living in the suburbs and watching Fox News?!

I'll let the BuzzFlash readers answer that.

Subject: Civilian contractor implicated in rape of Iraqi teen at Abu Ghraib

NPR's Marketplace reported a shocking story concerning the rape of a teenage Iraqi boy in the Abu Ghraib prison by a civilian contractor employed by San Diego's Titan corporation.

It was the lead story on their Friday show--they reported how the contractor may be untouchable under US law, and that Paul Bremer issued a decree exempting civilian contractors from prosecution in Iraq. The story is brutal and news should be heard by more people.

The link for the story is here: http://www.marketplace.org/play/audio.php?media=2004/05/21_mpp

CNN had a brief blurb on their crawl about a Justice Department investigation of a civilian contractor, but that was all.

Subject: Neo Acronym

BuzzFlash Readers,

Since the “New Republicans”have deemed themselves “Neo-Cons”(a bit less offensive than Aryan), I think it’s only fitting that the word neo should have more symbolic meaning. Let’s try to make an acronym out of the word. We need one that will catch the public quickly and stay on everyone’s mind so that when they see neo-con, they’ll immediately think of the acronym.

I’ve got some starters. If anyone wants to add to it, please do.

Nabobs Extremists Offenders -con
Narcissistic Elitist Officials
Napalm Environmentalist Opponents
Nauseatingly Emitted Offal
National Embarrassment Organization
National Extortionist Organization
New Egregious Order
News Exaggerating Oppressors
Never Explain Opinions
Nixon’s Epithetic Offspring
No Ethical Openness
Non elected Egotistically Offensive
Non ethical Extortionist Oil Mongers
Nouveau riche Eugenic Overreacts
Nuke Evolutionist Opinions

These are some. Perhaps someone has a better idea.

If ever there was an argument for evolution it has to be the Republican majority in Congress. If these “creationists”with their hypocritical ideas were created in a supposed god’s image, I feel bad for the followers of that religion.

But maybe, just maybe, they’ll evolve into humans yet and actually care what they do to their god’s world and people. That is, unless they were “created”in “ANOTHER’S”….image.

Subject: KFAQ offensive commercial in Tulsa

I am a concerned citizen in Tulsa Oklahoma, I would like for you to review the following promo commercial that runs on KFAQ(AM 1170) for it's morning talk show here in Tulsa.

The following is a transcript of the commercial in question. [A recording of this is attached with this email named KFAQ_promo.wav]

------------------------------------------

Intro voice: " Michael DelGiorno on standing up for what’s right ..."

Michael DelGiorno (KFAQ's Tulsa morning radio personality):

"Allah is not the God of this nation, but this is exactly the agenda of Islam: to change our government from within through politics and through tolerance and inclusion -- alter our culture.

But make no mistake about it, their goal is not to be one of many gods and one of many religions, it’s to be the God and the religion of the entire Earth.

Christians you better start speaking up, and standing up for what’s right, it’s all ready too late in Michigan1…

How much longer before it's too late right here at home?"

Closing voice: "... Michael DelGiorno, weekday morning, 5:30 to 9.... Tulsa's talk radio 1170 KFAQ"

-------- End of commercial-Recorded April 29, 2004 -------

While it may be argued that this is protected free speech, I am concerned that this may be counter-productive, possibly aid to incite violence or cause unnecessary misunderstanding in the community of Tulsa, also this commercial is inaccurate with regard to mainstream religious doctrines for both the intent of Islam and the spirit of Christianity. This promo commercial is too close for comfort in comparison to another radio host out of Boston that broadcasted similar, but more offensive statements here recently: ‘Boston Radio Host Says Kill All Muslims’: www.biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040423/dcf054_1.html.

If you have the ability, please "do something about" KFAQ's commercial and/or comment to the contents of the commercial to people in your sphere of influence as you see fit. I am making religious, political and media leadership aware of this commercial.

Subject: Chalabi

The situation vis-a-vis Ahmed Chalabi is getting to be funnier by the day. He's a crook and a scoundrel -- just ask the Jordanian government about their court dockets on this man. We all know what a dirtbag this guy is -- but here's the irony of the whole thing -- Chalabi, it turned out, actually has a brain, and he actually is audacious enough to allow independent thoughts to creep into his brain, God forbid. The Bush cartel was absolutely horrified to discover, not that Chalabi was a crook (please, they knew that and they had no absolutely no problem with it), but that he was a free-thinking crook. Chalabi actually believes that he has a right to talk to Iran and various Shiite radicals in Iraq. He actually thinks that he can do his own deals with these people, and he actually thinks that he can criticize Bush and Bremer. Geez Mr. Chalabi, what or who do you think you're dealing with here, anyway? Do you actually think, you big dope, that this is a democracy that Bremer is installing over there? How dare you think that you may presume to have thoughts or ideas that do not comport with the Bush cartel group think/mind control policies? Where have you spent the last forty years of your exile, in some liberal coffeeshop in Georgetown?

Subject: Obama Being Stalked by Ryan Staffer

Dear BuzzFlash Readers:

As you know, the GOP knows no shame in trying to win, fix, or rig a campaign. I'm writing this to the mailbag because I know over half a million readers will see this.

Most of us know that Illinois State Senator, Barack Obama, is poised to make history in the November elections, by becoming the first African-American man, and the second African-American since Carole Moseley Braun, if he wins the general election against Rep. Jack Ryan (the former husband of actress Jeri Ryan of "Star Trek" fame).

According to Josh Marshall, the editor of "Talking Points Memo" Mr. Ryan has assigned one of his staffers to literally stalk Sen. Obama. This individual is to follow Sen. Obama EVERYWHERE, not just campaign appearances and public speaking engagements. Even the Illinois State GOP is not wanting any part of this madness.

The Ryan camp says they have a right to make sure Sen. Obama is not making public statements that they can trip him up on later down the road. I understand that if you want accuracy, then the media (for once) is a good tool to ensure accuracy (to an extent before they put their own "spin" on it). But to follow a candidate into the bathroom, where he goes to dinner with his wife and kids, family gatherings , probably even church services, is blurring the line between being a public servant and violating the public servant's right to privacy.

I sent an email to Sen. Obama's website to suggest to him that he go to court and get a restraining order against the Ryan staffer who's stalking him. Apparently, the guy follows Sen. Obama as the Senator goes about his daily business and reports the Senator's activities to Jack Ryan via cell phone.

We know Sen. Obama is trying to run a clean race, while Jack Ryan is no better than the GOP morons that spawned him. Can Buzz Flash reprint that headline that discussed Ryan having something in his divorce papers concerning his kid that is so controversial, it's under court seal? I remember the media filing Freedom of Information Acts last year and early this year trying to find out what the controversial issue was, because he and Jeri had a very messy divorce. Again, Senator Obama illustrates a sense of common decency and fair play, because the Chicago media was willing to expose Mr. Ryan on this issue and Senator Obama politely declined the offer. However, by assigning a staffer to stalk Senator Obama, Mr. Ryan must be in trouble, because he's not willing to extend the same degree of courtesy and fair play to Mr. Obama.

Spread the word, BuzzFlash readers. And those of you in Illinois, send a clear message to Jack Ryan that a candidate who engages in these tactics IS NOT your choice for U. S. Senator! Thanks.

Question: Why do you talk or consider anything Zell Miller says?

Now since he is a big supporter of G.Bush, the DEMS should take him to court and sue him to demand he return all money he received to run as a Democrat for governor and senator during the past 10 years. Here is another suggestion to denounce Miller and tell him he will no longer represent the state of Georgia as a Democrat. I bet he shuts his stupid illiterate mouth then. One thing is for sure John Kerry is doing very well now anyway.

Subject: Bush Slide in Polls Could Tip Congress to Democrats

Dear Buzz:

If there is anything more dangerous than a cocky Bush republican, it is a desperate Bush republican. Bushco has proven that they are capable of committing atrocious acts to get what they want. The latest assertions by Tommy Franks and the Bush WH themselves that a "terrorist" attack just prior to the 2004 US elections is "imminent" is a forewarning.

Subject: CHALABI, NOURI, AND THE MISSING $22 MILLION BUCKS

BuzzFlash,

I love this:

"For several months, U.S. officials have been investigating people affiliated with the INC for possible ties to a scheme to defraud the Iraqi government during the transition to a new currency that took place from Oct. 15 last year to Jan. 15, according to a U.S. occupation authority official familiar with the case. The official said the raids were partly related to that investigation.

At the center of the inquiry is Nouri, whom Chalabi picked as the top anti-corruption official in the new Iraqi Finance Ministry. Chalabi heads the Governing Council's finance committee, and has major influence in its staffing and operation.

When auditors early this year began counting the old Iraqi dinars brought in and the new Iraqi dinars given out in return, they discovered a shortfall of more than $22 million. Nouri, a German national, was arrested in April and faces 17 charges including extortion, fraud, embezzlement, theft of government property and abuse of authority. He is being held in a maximum security facility, according to three sources close to the investigation."

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2004_05_16.php

So the guy Chalabi picks as his top anti-corruption official embezzles $22 MILLION. Oh, that's rich. And it tends to remind us that Chalabi is wanted in Jordan for bank fraud and embezzlement.

Gen Kimmitt on Iraqi deaths - "Change the channel""

Ordinary Iraqis killed: 11,500 and not counting

America and Britain have the statistical resources to compute with clinical accuracy the number of pollen grains floating in the air. Yet these two states say they cannot tell anyone how many Iraqi civilians have died in the 14 months since the Iraq conflict began in March last year. As the Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, conceded in an interview with The Independent last week, this ignorance is "odd".

Subject: Rush Limbaugh Listener calls for use of Nukes in Iraq

Dear BuzzFlash:

On Friday a female caller to Rush Limbaugh suggested that the US should use tactical nukes in Iraq. This woman actually said that she was hearing a lot of women say the same thing.

Rush followed up by commenting that he was hearing people call for the use of much stronger military action. I don't remember Rush's exact words but the suggestion was we should kick a$$ without worrying about collateral damage such as the death of innocent people.

Limbaugh's audience, better known as "dittoheads" have gone over the edge.....They actually believe we can end the conflict in Iraq with nuclear weapons, never considering how that would enrage the entire region.

This is perhaps the most frightening episode in the history of this country. I was born at the end of WWII. I've lived through Korea, Vietnam and the fear of nuclear war that was fed by the cold war and nothing in my memory compares to this.

There is a potential here for WWIII and anyone who doesn't see we're on the precipice of self-destruction must have their head in someplace dark and nasty.

The remainder of Rush on Friday was just the usual Rush Limbaugh serving as a Bush butt wipe.....Limbaugn trying, unsuccessfully, to clean up Bush's mess through off the wall and nonsensical explanations of everything from the war, to the economy, to the polls, to prisoner abuse.

Rush is attempting to paint a picture of Bush that is so rosy that nothing explains his deviation from reality but serious drug use.The guy must still be stoned.

Perhaps Chalabi has the secret plans for success in Iraq...

'A senior U.S. official says Chalabi and his intelligence chief, Aras Karim Habib, are suspected of giving Iran 'highly classified' data that were 'known to only a few within the U.S. government.'- quote from Time Magazine website

Hmmm, what might that secret information be? Perhaps the authorization documents to let the Bin Laden family and other Saudis leave the country after 911? The results of the investigations into who was selling airline futures short before 911? Perhaps the redacted parts of the earlier 911 report showing multiple connections to Saudi Arabia? Maybe it’s George Bush’s drug testing records from the National Guard? This administration has so many secrets it’s hard to even guess at what it is that Chalabi is supposed to have known.

But perhaps it’s the secret plans for success in Iraq? Those plans have been so elusive that many doubt their very existence…

This wasn't even a gay wedding. If not for the APTP, we would have never have known the truth. I'll bet Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt was miffed. I'm sending this to EVERONE just to make sure he is. Wonder if he'll do time for lying. If they can nail Martha for saying she's innocent of something she wasn't even charged with, maybe there's a chance for the general.

AP: Video Shows Iraq Wedding Celebration

1 hour, 6 minutes ago

By SCHEHEREZADE FARAMARZI, Associated Press Writer

RAMADI, Iraq - A videotape obtained Sunday by Associated Press Television News captures a wedding party that survivors say was later attacked by U.S. planes early Wednesday, killing up to 45 people. The dead included the cameraman, Yasser Shawkat Abdullah, hired to record the festivities, which ended Tuesday night before the planes struck.

Subject: Which Mountains?

In a story on President Bush's accident, a CNN reporter took a moment to laud the robustness and derring-do of our war hero/mountain biker. There is, however, one glaring question: which mountain was he riding on?

I don't know if anyone at Sirius ever reads these posts, but maybe we could start an email campaign. I'd love for Mike Malloy to get on Sirius Left or Air America. Just about every message board I frequent, Malloy's name comes up in topics about radio, Sirius, and Air America.

Yes, he is outspoken, but what Rush, Hannity, and Savage is for the right, Malloy is for us lefty's. (I would add that he is 100% more truthful, but I'm admittedly biased.)

Subject: Rob Reiner debates Ben Stein 11-1-2000

Howdy,

FYI, was watching a book TV interview with Arianna Huffington and Rob Reiner, who interviewed her, mentioned his debate with Ben Stein on Newshour Nov. 1, 2000. Amazing 12 minute debate as Reiner spends practically every moment making the point that Bush is not intellectually curious enough to be president, especially in a time of danger. Stein offers the 'Bush has good folks around him" line. He said Kissinger supported Bush and that was good sign. haha

Interesting to listen to Reiner's arguments and the way he kept after the point that Bush was not a man who would know what to do with info when he got it, so the fact that he had good people around him made no difference. He says things we all knew at the time, but to hear him with what we know now, well, it's nice to re-confirm - in a big way - that we aren't the ones out of touch with reality. heeh

Stein shows again why no one should ask his opinion on politics.

" I want a person who respects the constitution not who is a tough a guy." (Ben Stein 11-1-00)

Subject: 800 American Iraq Casualties

Dear Buzzer:

While there have been thousands upon thousands of deaths in Iraq, I am writing to tell you that the US casualty count passed 800 this weekend. I believe you should post that info because I suspect, given Bush's problems, that will be hidden from the American public by the in-the-Bush-pocket US press. It needs to get out. I believe it was only early April that the count was around 600.

Thanks. Keep up the great work.
