Subj: New Slogan for Democrats Hi Buzz! I don't know if the Democratic campaign managers ever read this mailbag (They should. This stuff is great!), but just in case I came up with my own little campaign slogan: VOTE FOR THE WAR PRESIDENT AND THAT'S ALL YOU'RE EVER GUARANTEED OF GETTING! Please, if you like it, pass it around. We have to work together to defeat this bozo. Thanks for being here, buzz. Sincerely, A Patriot
Opposed to War Subj: Bush's Women Dear BuzzFlash, I had the distinct displeasure of dealing with Karen Hughes for, thankfully, a short amount of time, here in Austin. Her son played on the same Soccer Team as mine. Background synopsis of this team and organization. The Head Coach/Trainer has been a World Cup Player, European Premier League champion, and the US. U-20 Men's Head Coach. The secondary Coaches have all been either US or Mexico Premier League players and our organization has been nationally ranked for the last 20 years, with over 60% of the players receiving College Scholarships.... Enter Karen Hughes...who vocally disagreed with virtually every facet of this organization, and constantly voiced her displeasure at every practice and game. She knew how to run our organization better than everyone else...All who are volunteers (except the coaching staff ), however she never once volunteered for anything, just complained bitterly at every possible occasion. She became the most upsetting parent that we have had in years, and when she took her family to Washington and left Austin, there was a huge sigh of relief, except for the fact that we knew that she and bushco were about to do " for the country, what they had done for Texas ", and that was the most terrifying thought...all fears of which have become fact... Just thought I would toss my experience since Laura Flanders has just published her book, "the Bush Women," a book I will certainly purchase next payday. Name withheld due to fear of retribution from bushco. A BuzzFlash Reader Hello BuzzFlash and all BuzzFlash readers, I just read the article to which BuzzFlash linked concerning the Dennis Miller Show paying for audience members. The article offers a link to a post offering to pay people to be in the audience of Millers show. Feeling adventurous, I clicked onto the link and . . . . POOF !! IT MAGICALLY DISAPPEARS!!!! This is the message that pops up:
Removed !?!?? Tickets aren't selling too well, I suppose. What is it about Right Wingers where their television shows can't appeal to audiences (Dr. Laura, Rush Limbaugh, Michael "Savage" Weiner, to name a few notable failures)? Oh well . . . . could it be that they are finally dumping Miller's pathetic display into the same scrap heap where that "Savage Nation" show ended up!?? " Je regrette, mais quel dommage" (French for 'sorry, but that's a shame'), to coin the Miller vernacular!! Let's hope so, for the sake of our collective national after-dinner digestion. Warmest Regards, GK, a Fervently Loyal, Devoted and Proud Liberal BuzzFlash Reader Subj: Ashcroft Demands Privacy for Gun Records but Not for Women's Medical Records They getting on my nerves!!! Women write your Congress members at www.congressmerge.com Below is a copy of the letter, I just sent to the bast*rds. Dear _____________, I am contacting my members of Congress regarding an issue of concern to me...Ashcroft and the Justice Department's violation of women's right to privacy. Let me get this straight. Ashcroft demands privacy for gun buyers' records, but not for women's medical records? This act is an outrage. If you Republicans think you are going to win back the White House with this BULLS*IT, think again. You just pi**ed off a lot of women. What is next--the Office of Uterine Control?? Sincerely, Amanda Lang Subj: Bush & 9/11 Commission -- Won't someone ask an attorney??? I just finished reading much of this morning's White House "gaggle" (March 10, '04) posted on Josh Marshall's Talking Points Memo. Had any reporter with any "real world" knowledge of our nation's court system, they would have said something to Press Secretary McClellan like: "Gee, Scott, seems like the average deposition time in a car wreck case, or property dispute case, or divorce property distribution case, or workplace gender discrimination case can run from 3-8 hours. So, when we're talking about 'getting to the bottom' of 9/11, why is the President so eager to answer questions in less time than the average plaintiff or defendant does in, say, a 'fender-bender' case?" By the way, just how long was President Clinton's deposition in the Paula Jones' case? I mean, how long did Ms. Jones' attorneys question him to 'get to the bottom' of that matter? Can't you just hear the howls coming from, hmm, "certain circles" if Clinton's attorneys had filed a motion to limit his deposition to one hour, and mentioned, just to show how much he was willing to "cooperate," how he would "answer any and all questions" Ms. Jones' lawyers were willing to ask him (no doubt in written form, a la Answers to Interrogatories) later on (with assistance of counsel . . .)? I can tell you that the ink would not have been dry on such a limiting motion before the Judge would have denied it. That's what we call a "slam dunk." And, yet, with this in mind, I would like to hear Mr. McClellan, let alone Mr. Bush, contend that 'getting to the bottom' of a property line dispute or sexual harassment case is (while important, no doubt) more important to The Nation than getting to the bottom of what went wrong in the days, weeks and months leading up to the horrors of 9/11. Any attorney (I'm one) would tell you that it's utterly laughable for the President, and his Mouthpiece, to contend that a thorough, probing, in-depth Q & A session could occur between him and the 9/11 commission in 1 hour, when the VAST majority of depositions, taken every day throughout this country, last for much longer than that. Russell Newton Subj: Ashcroft's Gall Bladder Dear Buzz, I enjoyed Steve Bradenton's cartoon about John Ashcroft's gall bladder, but I think he, like many other observers, may have neglected to consider the true cause of Ashcroft's ailment: the Constitution stuck in his craw. Jon Krampner Subj: Maureen Farrell This is it. This is the stuff that can really make bush go away. Maureen's article rocks. Spread the word, because this can scare people who think this is all a big frikkin joke and make them run into Kerry's arms. Other sources to explore if you're looking for more: "The Despoiling of America" on yuricareport.com and liberalslikechrist.org. I'm sure there are other sites, but the main thing is to get these sick, evil, demented plans to deconstruct our country out in the open. Some of these neocons and theocons have been planning this takeover for over 20 years. They are SOOOOO CLOSE to having it all work out - just one election away!!!!! They are counting on people just not catching on in time.......lie lie lie, stall, cover up, divide and conquer. Steal the election. Consolidate power over the entire government. Dismantle the social safety net. Impose theocratic rule. Confiscate the people's money. Amass incredible wealth and power at the tippity top. Impoverish the american people. Destroy the environment. Wage war on the world. Bring on armageddon. EVIL, EVIL, EVIL. This is what they really want to do, and they've admitted it in interviews and on tv, and it's true. I ask you all, what american can stand for this? Is this really what our republican friends want? Lord, have mercy. A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: Please Read This Entirely! To BuzzFlash Readers There are many, many worthy links from the BuzzFlash site. But the scariest one of all concerns the Religious Right: http://www.theocracywatch.org/. If you do nothing else, then please read this rather lengthy link entirely. It is perhaps the most sobering link I have been to - anywhere, not just from BuzzFlash. It will take some time to get through this link, but it will be worth it. Hexokinase in SD Subj: Republican Contract with America Maybe it's time to see what the the Republican Contract With America has done to America. It's been over ten years since it was rolled out -- after an election so no one could object. The Republicans have pretty much controlled Congress since then. So what did it do to the average citizen and the country? Why not ask a Democratic strategist to revisit the Contract's provisions. It would make a good newspaper article or book even. Or even better a great TV ad. Let's see if they kept their promise on anything. S. Harrington [BuzzFlash Note: We often refer to it as the "Republican Contract ON America."] Subj: "Rove is no genius" Buzz, Your March 10th link to ‘Bush's War Against Wonks' included the line, "Rove is no genius." Finally! someone has spoken the truth! and put sword to DimSon's oft-repeated myth that this Rove guy is the ‘boy genius' of politics. The article lists 3 of "Rove's policy input" failures [input? who's running this country anyway? who elected this schmuck?] - tariffs on imported steel, prescription drug bill, temporary legal status to immigrant workers. But consider, too, all his photo-op failures - the crotch-jock-flyboy strut on a ship anchored off-shore, the plastic Thanksgiving turkey, the economic-speech audience stuffed with CEOs-without-ties-to-look-like-normal-guys, the fake fireman in his re-selection ads, DimSon's drippy poem to lumpyLaura that he didn't actually write - the list does go on & on. All these were boy-genius-Rove's scornful stunts that turned around and bit bush on the butt. Rove may be mean and Machiavellian, but he ain't no genius - and he ain't nothing to be intimidated by - he's some cowardly little creep hiding behind the curtain making it up as he goes along - and failing at it! T Quigly Postnote: 3/10 mailbagger Connie wrote that "The Fellowship" group Howard Stern mentioned as the conservative Christian group housing 6 congresspeople at low rent, was listed in Harper's Magazine March 2003 article as "The Family." Isn't "The Family" what Charlie Manson called his band of killers? And why does Karen Hughes' name keep popping up these days? Didn't she scoot back to Texas years ago to take care of her kids who needed her so much? Has she abandoned them? Are they now neglected children? Out on the streets without a caring mother in sight? Subj: Howard Dean Hi BuzzFlash, We agree 100% with Susan Lynch. As Dean supporters, we hope to see Dean a lot more in the future. He gave us hope, when there was none. He put a backbone in our Democrat Party. Now we will support John Kerry, because he's the Democrat's pick, and a good man. But we will ever be beholden to *Give them hell, Howard.* He was there when we needed him, and he will always have our heartfelt thanks, never to be forgotten. History will treat him kindly. Like you BuzzFlash, you were there when we were in the dark days of selection 2000. You pulled us through. Bar any foul play by the gang that stole the last election, we will have a President Kerry in the White House in 2004. Your ever grateful BuzzFlash readers, and supporters. Leonard Subj: Ashcroft Gall bladder: A vesicle, attached to the under surface of the right lobe of the liver, that stores and concentrates the bile. So will there be less gall and bile coming out of Ashcroft or will it be less concentrated. A year or so ago I was bestowing the UGLY (Unmitigated Gall Leveled at You) awards on the net to deserving Repubs or Dinos. Karen Webb, Moore, Ok. Subj: Fright!!!!!!!!! I just finished reading Maureen Farrell's column on this day (3/10/04) and I thought I was scared to death before....but, that really brought it home...Thanks, Buzz and Maureen for scaring the pants off me,but a good way! It is not like this administration hasn't already done it...so many times. It is somewhat refreshing to find that I did not imagine it all. I am now reading Paul O'Neill's book, and I once in awhile just have to put it down, I really cannot imagine that the world...this country has come to this! I have been watching news today...and happened to hear the words that are in your headline "the words that Kerry said, not knowing the mic was still on" ...and he should never be ashamed of it...a lot of people who heard that, will now know things that they never believed before. I can remember the "Asshole" remark by Bush in the other election cycle, and the "Big time" remark by the Evil One (Cheney) and it was nothing compared to this. This was such true belief and concern , you could hear the frustration in Kerry's voice! And, I don't think for a minute that it will concern him! And, to Susan Lynch...don't ever worry, Dear...I loved and worked tirelessly for Howard Dean...I sent a small donation...but, Kerry is meeting with him and all the candidates (Dean Today) and those good and honest men will have places in his administration... I really believe that! Just my choice, but I think Dean should be his top economic advisor.(or more) Secretary of State, maybe????? I think Kerry is the pending candidate, because of his TRUE war record, and the hope that he can beat Bush...that is what exit polls are showing. And, if he doesn't .....none of us may be here for another election! Bush is out there on the stump, telling all his rich followers that Kerry's answer to the problems of this country is raising taxes...He does not point out that Kerry will only raise the taxes of those making over 200,000! I for sure am leaving the country..not like Alec Baldwin, who joked that if Bush won in 2000 that he would go to Canada,,,which he did not even say.....I am going further than that...if possible. This man and his people are going to bury this country... I should not read so much...but, you think that you just might open the eyes of someone, someday! Chin up and work like you never worked before! Shirley..........St.Louis Subj: Help Remove Bush in the 2004 U.S. Presidential Elections: I care who wins this year's U.S. presidential election. As an Overseas American, you can vote from anywhere on the planet - and OverseasVote can help. Even if you've never voted before (or if the last time you voted was for JFK), simply go to www.overseasvote.com, and in less than 10 minutes you'll be registered to vote in 2004. If you are not American and have been sent this message - THIS IS NOT A MISTAKE - please visit the site and encourage Overseas Americans to vote, or simply forward this message to an overseas American! A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: "Appointed" Haitian Leader Hey Buzz: Why isn't the American media all over the fact that a democratically elected Haitian leader was overthrown (possibly kidnapped) and replaced with an "appointed" head of state. And why, why, why isn't anyone asking who exactly it was who appointed Latortue, who "returned from the United States." And what does Jimmy Carter, who, if I remember correctly, oversaw the fairness of the voting that elected Aristide, have to say about the recent turn of events??? Why haven't any reporters asked Nobel peace prize winner Carter for his opinion??? The U.S. has become such a scary country. A BuzzFlash reader Subj: Christian Civic Leader Soon, the inimitable Christian Civic League will be the most feared investigatory unit in America with its shrill queries( it means questions, CCL) aimed at politicians regarding their sexual orientation. They will gather outside all the campaign headquarters of Democrats in their black sackcloth robes and hoods. The spokesman with a bullhorn will bark instructions to those inside, "Okay, everybody drop your drawers and fall in for short arm inspection!" Maybe it would be a better idea to ask politicians if they plan on allowing their corporate contributors to plunder the treasury. Does the Christian religion require it's adherents to be petty, silly, mean-spirited dimwits, or is that just for extra credit? Get a life! Get a hobby! Stop bothering everybody with your bizarre superstitions! Michael
J. Fowler Subj: America Wants Answers! Now!!! You wanna be one of thousands who are virtually shutting down the government with their faxed and emailed demands that Bush give a thorough accounting of 9-11??? Here is the link! Murphy Subj: Darth Nader To BuzzFlash Readers, Do not fret about Darth Nader! The battery in his sword died some time ago. Since it would help propel George Bush back into the oval office and would rush the country into bankruptcy, voting for him would be unsafe at any speed. Even the politically ignorant have to know that a vote for Darth is a vote for George Bush. Betty Gordon Subj: Bush - A Deficit of Leadership
Dave Nichols Subj: 03/10/04 Mailbag, Re: Rule Breaker In Response to Donald P. Russo, from Bethlehem, Pa. Sir, Kerry has shown he is a man of class, and doesn't need to stoop to the bush klan criminal admin's dirty tricks. The best response Kerry can give to Oilboy's attacks is to turn the table around by NEVER mentioning the idiot by name! And, I think Kerry had it right: do not respond to the attacks by attacking in kind, respond by reminding the littlest kaiser that he would welcome all comments in a debate. By no means back down, but remind everyone that the idiot is attacking without being held accountable for what he says, never being under oath and cowardly hiding behind his $100 million dollar + commercial carpet bombing campaign. The "evil" BuzzFlash Reader Subj: How bush plans on stealing the election in Florida with touch screen voting: Support Robert Wexlers attempt to reign in bushes legal theft of the 2004 election, if you don't, it is only our selves to blame. This needs to happen nation-wide. Sorry folks, but Democracy in America is dependent on our participation, regardless of the inconvenience. My prediction, bush will steal the election, but get caught RED-HANDED, and will be frog marched in handcuffs to a spider hole in Iraq. Send this far and wide, the media will facilitate bushes theft, and we have to pre-empt this with informed opinion. Last time, it was sorely lacking. Thanks in advance! http://www.wexler.house.gov/press_releases/Mar_07_04.htm Rex Sent to nightline@abcnews.com: Subj: Hoped for Better Dear Nightline: A lazy, sloppy take on defense issues last night. Surely you could have dug down deeper in your bag of apparatchiks and hacks and come up with something fresher than David "I wrote a good (wasn't even actually that good) line once" Frum and Peter "Please pay me to come on your show" Beinart.... (Both pro-war, by the way, and fighting on bravely in the killing fields of Georgetown and Manhattan...) Your reporter speaks of the careful inspection Kerry's legislative record will undergo, presumably with your enthusiastic compliance. What a pity you were not similarly enthusiastic when issues were raised about Bush's pathetic "record" in 2000, or when the foreign media revealed the flimsy web of lies Bush spun to get us into the Iraq quagmire. I had hoped for better this time around. Guess I'll have to get my professional journalism on our election from the overseas press... Sincerely, Chuck Van
Wey Subj: No to McCain, Yes to recognizing the thugs that you are dealing with Buzz: I was floating on air when I heard John Kerry's off the cuff remark concerning Bush/ Cheney and their right-wing-unChristian behaving followers! They are indeed a bunch of lying, untrustworthy cowards. Their main repertoire is throwing political rocks and pretending that it's hail. It's good to know that Kerry realizes that he's up against a bunch of thugs who stole the presidency once and will do anything to maintain their power....... But then I was brought back to earth when I heard that Kerry was considering John McCain for the vice presidency. Say it isn't so Sen. Kerry! John Edwards would be a much better choice. PLEASE! This is serious. Our collective lives depend on the Democrats beating Bush in 2004 . The environment can't take another 4 years of Bush and company. This is no time for speculative games. There are enough good men in the Democratic Party to choose as a running mate. Choose one and let's get this show on the road!! D. Turner Subj: Do They Have Him? Buzz, Heard this today on Pacifica. Reports are that Osama has been captured and they have been holding him for two weeks now. If this is true, I guess they will hold him until an opportune moment and then put on the big show. This needs to be investigated if possible and spread far and wide to take the wind out of their sails. If this is true it is purely EVIL, but would not shock me in the least. We live in scary times.
