Subj: 9-11 Hearings

I am anxiously awaiting the upcoming public hearings on the independent 9-11 investigation. Tom Kean faced a very difficult upward battle in his work, so I am doubtful the real truth will come out. But something still bothers me greatly.

While out promoting her new book, Barbara Bush visited Larry King Live, on Oct. 22nd. Larry asked her a question about her faith and if 9-11 ever caused her to doubt it. Her answer was quite puzzling. She wrapped up her answer by saying:

Bush: "now that's a good question. It doesn't cause--it--it causes me to wonder how people can live in our country, but that has nothing to do with religion, I think. It's their religion or their fanaticism. But how can someone live in our country for NINE YEARS, accept our education, our life, and then all that time plan to kill us? That makes me wonder..."

My initial response was, "huh, who is she talking about?" Who lived here for nine years? I did some research and it wasn't Hani Hanjour, as claimed by Mr. Ed Eggen at the Washington Post, as he indicated in a response to my question. Hanjour was a "bozo" according to his bio. Never "fit in" and flunked out of English lessons. In addition, he didn't LIVE here for nine years according to his passport dates of coming and going.

One other name did pop up in my research and that was Omar Bayoumi. According to another article by Mr. Eggen, Bayoumi was the FBI's suspect. However, he was allowed to go back to Saudi Arabia.

So just who was the former First Lady and Mother of President Bush referring to? I'm sure she knows way more than any of us do. Did she "slip" in her answer? Did she say something that no one but me paid attention to? Why was she so specific about "someone" living here for nine years? Have I gone off the deep end? Perhaps, but, with so many unanswered questions regarding 9-11 can you blame me?

Oh, and Larry King didn't really follow up, he went to a commercial.

Monica a BuzzFlash Fan.

Subj: Gen Clark Opens Can of WhoopAss on Karl Rove

Hey BuzzFlash:

Check out www.c-span.org under General Wesley Clark's economic speech. It's a 25.4 minute speech, and from 19:35 to 20:35 he opens up a can of whoop-ass on Karl Rove, telling him he's going to give tax relief to 31 million Americans and raise taxes (5%) on the upper 1/10 of 1% of the wealthiest Americans. He said you don't have to read my lips, I'm saying it. He then dares Rove to come after him for it.

It was the most eye-opening transfusion of life into this primary season. It was brilliant.

Please check it out and provide the link on your website for your readers. Don't want anyone to miss it!

Subj: Helping special interests is a Bush family trait

Buzz,

Here's something I haven't seen covered, and that affects me, and thousands like me, personally.

Here in Florida, Jeb Bush's folks have just done a *wonderful* job for the medical insurance industry - they allowed them just a real nice increase in rates, in the middle of the Bush Depression. And I don't mean " inflation". For those of us who may have run out COBRA, or for other reasons are paying for an individual policy, for HMOs...they've allowed a 35% increase in premiums.

That's right, THIRTY-FIVE PERCENT. My own policy goes up next month $150/mo, to over $500/mo...and I've been unemployed almost the whole Bush Depression. This certainly hasn't been front page news, and when I called the state

Of course, there's no independent commissioner, and the person I spoke to at the state said that "I might not agree with the decision...."

If y'all are interested in this story, I could find out more about all the rate increases down here in this province of the American Banana Republic.

Subj: Sistani

Dear Buzz:

I find it fascinating to examine the intimate details of the U.S. "handover" of political power to an Iraqi provisional government. I invite you to notice that the leading political figure in Iraq, Ayatollah Sistani, is calling for direct elections. Now, obviously we know that the Bush administration is not at all comfortable with elections, given the 2000 debacle in Florida. Nevertheless, here we have the spectacle of a country like the U.S. -- the greatest democracy in the world -- telling the Iraqi people that they cannot have direct election (Bremer wants "caucuses"). Not surprisingly, our media have not honed in on the irony of the U.S. opposing elections in Iraq. On top of this, we have the CIA setting up a new secret police force in Iraq. Gee, you'd think that something this provocative might warrant at least a brief mention on 60 Minutes, but thus far Ed Bradley finds nothing here of great interest to the American public. And finally, it is now pretty much taken for granted that the Kurds, not the U.S. Army, captured Saddam Hussein. However, when are we going to hear a story on the U.S. major media about this? Just the other day, I heard yet another anchor on one of the cable news channels, referring to "the daring early morning raid" that captured Saddam Hussein. This is utterly disingenuous, or else these media people cannot read, because everyone else in the world has long since moved beyond the notion that the U.S. captured Saddam.

Subj: Wash Post fails to disclose biased Republican source

The Washington Post does a big story today on how the Victoria Plame CIA leak story might be much ado about nothing, and not even be a crime: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A47860-2004Jan1.html

Who's their source? Victoria Toensing, a noted Washington lawyer who was on the Senate Intelligence Committee when Congress passed the anti-leak law the White House stands accused of violating. The entire article is about Toensing downplaying the entire story, and the Post quoting her hook, line and sinker, without providing any counter-point to her shrug off of this potentially serious crime.

What does the Washington Post fail to tell us about Toensing in the story? That the noted Washington lawyer is a BIG-time Republican operative here in town, and that she's married to Joseph diGenova, the big-time Republican prosecutor. Here's my favorite find of the day: Do a Google search on:

"victoria toensing" republican

What's the first thing that comes up?

"Find a Republican lawyer" http://www.rnla.org/bio/BioDetail.asp?MemberID=69

And here's a snippet from a Wash Post profile of Toensing and her husband DiGeneva:

"Toensing, a former federal prosecutor, and diGenova, a former U.S. attorney here, wear a number of hats. The law partners are the outside counsel for a House committee's investigation of the Teamsters union and its ties to the Democrats. The couple also represent the committee's Republican chairman, Dan Burton of Indiana, in a probe of whether he improperly demanded campaign donations from a lobbyist for Pakistan. Toensing represents Gingrich's wife, Marianne, on ethics matters. And the two are registered lobbyists for such groups as the American Hospital Association.

"I'm always identified as a Republican," Toensing said yesterday. "We enjoy doing [television]. To do it to the degree we were doing it, it's reasonable to be paid for it. It also means cutting out some of our other appearances" because of the exclusive arrangement with CNBC and MSNBC.

"We think they bring a unique perspective to the public dialogue," said NBC spokeswoman Kassie Cantor. "Neither Joe nor Victoria makes any secret that they are on the conservative side. . . . As long as we clearly identify what their association is, there's no conflict and we're not doing any disservice to our viewers."....

The two lawyers have frequently criticized Clinton and defended independent counsel Kenneth Starr on such NBC programs as "Meet the Press," "Today," "Rivera Live" and "Charles Grodin."

Subj: Second Thoughts on Free Trade

Regarding today's NY Times article "Second Thoughts on Free Trade" (at <http://nytimes.com/2004/01/06/opinion/06SCHU.html>), I must admit, as a retired 30 year "blue-collar" worker, it's painful to see how many politicians are just now questioning free trade agreements, only because white-collar jobs are finally being effected.

When factories and other labor intensive jobs were decimated as corporations moved their plants to countries that paid near slave wages to their workers {and some countries that actually allowed true slavery to exist on the plant grounds], most talking heads were silent.

While some politicians [including Kucinich] kept trying to modify NAFTA to require NAFTA and other Free Trade partners to pay workers a living wage and allow union representation BEFORE those countries could benefit by the no tariff rights of Free Trade, other officials kept feeding us the BS that "those countries will become fair to the workers on their own."

Now that white-collar jobs are moving to India, China, Brazil and elsewhere, there's a cry being given by politicians who voted for the trade agreements.

I guess I'm happy that their eyes are finally opening. But I still feel for the folks who lost their jobs to a slave labor camp in Nicaragua or Guatemala.

Subj: my letter to the RNC regarding their phony outrage over the Bush/Hitler moveon.org ad

What hypocrisy to complain about ads comparing Bush to Hitler. Have you no shame? Did not the republicans run a series of TV attack ads during Max Cleland's campaign in Georgia? What about the attack ads on Olympia Snowe of Maine?

(Olympia Snowe of Maine and George Voinovich of Ohio, as "Franco-Republicans" for refusing to go along with Bush's proposal for a $726 million tax cut.)

U.S. Rep. Saxby Chambliss, the Republican in the contest, is airing a television ad in his contest against incumbent Sen. Max Cleland, the Democratic Party candidate, that features Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Chambliss' message: Cleland is soft on homeland defense and doesn't support President Bush.

At its best, the ad is misleading. At its worst, it's an irresponsible and repugnant attack on Cleland's character and sense of patriotism.

Well I guess what's good for the goose isn't quite good for the gander eh?

Besides, Bush IS behaving like a dictator and a bully. He is stripping us of our rights, ignoring international and U.S. constitutional law, attacking defenseless sovereign nations, threatening other countries with American military aggression, invoking fear to win support. Sound familiar?

Don't you people read?

good grief....

Subj: Editorial on MoveON

Thanks for the editorial about the RNC's "outrage" over the Hitler comparison.

I am in the Charlotte, NC area, and though I missed the actual story last night on the Fox 10 O'clock news here (Fox 18), I did hear the teaser for the story about "Bush compared to Hitler?".. I caught the tail end of the promo slot before commercial, and it showed Bush standing on the steps of Air Force One, waving then walking down the steps....I guess a "Presidential" shot.

I missed the actual story, one because I was in another room, and secondly, I had forgotten the channel was on that god forsaken "news" cast, but one can only assume they failed to mention ANYTHING remotely resembling your complete description of the MoveOn campaign.

Keep up the good fight and THANK YOU.

Subj: Bush and Forrest

Dear Buzz,

How dare you compare my favorite movie character to that idiot in the White House! If Forrest had been president:

There would not have been a massive tax cut. Remember Forrest always believed in sharing his good fortune

There would be no deficit. Forrest always lived well within his means

There would not have been a war: Run Forrest Run!

There would not have been sixteen words. Forrest always told the truth!

The only time I think Forrest and George Bush would have acted the same was September 11, 2001 when

Andy Card whispered, "America is under attack!" For those 20 minutes, Forrest and George may have reacted the same. But after that, Forrest would have tried to save his friend while George ran away.

BTW, the dustup about the "Hitler" ads only shows that the media is the mouthpiece of the RNC!

DeeDee

Subj: Please excerpt this from the Clark speech: So if Karl Rove is watching today, I want him to hear me loud and clear

snip-

So if Karl Rove is watching today, I want him to hear me loud and clear: I am going to provide tax cuts to ease the burdens for 31 million American families -- and lift hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty -- by raising the taxes on 0.1 percent of families -- those who make more than $1,000,000 a year. And if that makes me an "old style" Democrat, then, I accept that label with pride and dare you to come after me for it. Because what I am talking about today is in the best tradition of Wilson and Roosevelt; of JFK, LBJ, and Bill Clinton - and it is in the best interest of the United States of America!

But let's also be clear: this is not old style "tax and spend." 99.9 percent of Americans will not have to pay this extra rate. And it can only be used toward tax relief for America's working and hard-pressed families. Not a penny will go to increase government spending.

Subj: Iraq Casualties

In Vietnam 57,000 Americans died. All 57,000 are on the Vietnam memorial. If, however, casualties were counted the way they are in Iraq, 10,466 names would have to be removed from the wall because their deaths were not the result of hostile fire. In Vietnam there were 47,244 combat and 10,466 non-combat deaths. Currently, 581 service personnel have died in Iraq, but only 486 (as of today) are counted as war casualties. Why the double standard? The administration clearly gains by disguising the true human cost of the war from Americans, but why are the media complicit in this distortion of the facts? Among so many recent shameful acts of outright deception, omission and lazy, sloppy reporting, this distortion is perhaps the most disturbing and confusing of all.

Hi Buzz,

With all due respect to Senator Kennedy, I would have to disagree with his commentary. Cole expressed it best in his letter in the 1/5 mailbag. The fact is, there is much Daschle could have done, but didn't. There were many times he could've started a filibuster, but didn't, mostly out of fear of "upsetting" the republicans. We, unfortunately, are the ones that pay the price for the failures of our members of congress. As I realize that Senator Daschle has no doubt done some great things in his career as a senator, he has not done enough as a leader - when we needed him most. As the other mailbag writer mentioned, we were ignored by the very people we elected. So I'm sorry Senator Kennedy, but it's just not good enough. Maybe some of us have been a little harsh, but as I said, it is we that live with the consequences, not Ted Kennedy nor any other member of the government. They are well taken care of for the rest of their lives. I wish I could say the same for us. Daschle refused to filibuster the Medicare bill (if I'm not mistaken). This is an example of the weak getting stuck with a crap drug plan because of a lack of leadership. We should expect more. And from now on we will. And maybe Senator Kennedy should listen to us "outsiders". We have a much better perspective on how our congressional leaders are serving our interests than he or any other senator.

BuzzFlash, I'm glad you were as outspoken as you were re Tom Daschle. Someone has to speak out. I'm also glad it prompted a response from Ted Kennedy. But perhaps his commentary needs another response. Thanks Buzz.

Subj: Escape the "Free Speech Zone"

We've entered the Orwell Zone.

Up until now, most of the Orwellian double-speak, "Clean Air," "Healthy Forests," "No Child Left Behind," etc., coming out of the White House was used on legislation. But upon reading the article about GWB's establishment of "Free Speech Zones" for protesters, he's gone too far. This use of doublespeak is truly oppressive and a blatant abuse of power as it, in effect, removes a person's right to free speech. The arrests and corralling of dissenters in areas completely removed from the point of discussion is criminal. Is someone crossing off each of the amendments in the Bill of Rights as he takes them away (except guns of course) from Americans?

I suggest covert protesting. Rather than gathering in groups, conducting rallies and marches, that we make GWB show his true colors. Gather up as many official Bush for President signs as possible and print on the back of them your protest message. Make sure to include a liberal (pun intended) sprinkling of "I am peacefully protesting." and "I'm using my first amendment rights." and "Dissent is Democracy, not Terrorism." Then put two Bush posters back to back so that no one can tell they are double sided.

Then attend a Bush public speaking event. Don't go in as a group, filter in slowly over a long time, in ones and twos. Migrate to the middle of a crowd, playing the pro-Bush side. Once George has begun his speech, quietly flip your signs over and slowly raise them. Stay in your group and then wait and see if he sends in a squad of police and secret service agents to squash you.

He couldn't win this one. Either they do nothing and the press and people see you quietly protesting, or he interrupts his speech to make a spectacle of removing the peaceful, free speech protesters.

One more note on the double-speak - others have used it to kill millions. The Nazis called them "relocation centers" and "detention camps."

Oh yeah, I want a bumper sticker that says "Liberate America."

Subj: My letter to the NY Post on Ralph Peters' really offensive column

Dear Buzz,

I was like a seething volcano last night. Accordingly I wrote a lot of angry letters. We liberals are crazed with anger!

This is what I wrote in the fill-in form to the NY Post on Ralph Peters' column about Howard Dean being a Nazi:

"Ralph Peters column is one shining example of the right's ability to make a reasoned, substantive argument. What wisdom, what insight, what cleverness, what wit, what grace, what style.

My husband, who many years ago got the highest score on the New York State Regency Exam, has an undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics from an ivy league university, got into three medical schools obtaining a full scholarship to one of them, happens to be Jewish. He supports Howard Dean. I guess my husband is too stupid to realize that Howard is a Nazi."

This column is actually veiled anti-semitism and as the wife of a Jewish man and the mother of a half-Jewish son, I am offended by it.

Sincerely,

Subj: Why is MoveOn Apologizing?

Why is Moveon.org apologizing for allowing freedom of expression? I saw the ads comparing Bush's statements to Hitler's. You can't deny Both Hitler and Bush used fear mongering to further their cause.

I like the ads but gave them low marks because I didn't think they'd sell. I also preferred the ads that addressed multiple issues.

Moveon.org should not have apologized. Displeasure with the ads could have been Expressed by VOTING. Gee what a concept.

My response: If we have gotten the Republicans upset, we must be doing something correct. Always do the opposite of WHATEVER THEY SAY. Cannot wait until our new democratically elected president is in office. Talk about Saddam. Yes, I said his OWN PEOPLE since he considers himself a KING and we the public his subjects.

Subj: NBC Reporting

I know you remember the story about the Iraqi insurgents that were dressed as PRESS and fired upon the rescuers at the downed helicopter, some were even captured by the Americans. Reuters tried to tell anyone that would listen that they hired people to work the story and they were captured and fired upon by the American occupation forces. What we heard on American media, including NBC, was that the American occupation version was the truth and the gospel and American forces were protecting themselves from these evil people disguised as press. Now that the occupation forces have released these people, we find out that one of our own AMERICAN MEDIA journalists from and NBC affiliate was one of the captured. Think we will get the full story now, I doubt it. The Bush Administration has made journalism a very high risk occupation. As Don King would say: Only in a dictatorship, only in a dictatorship.

Subject: Homeland Security crying wolf

Hi Buzz,

The alert went to orange and flights were cancelled, delayed, turned back and detained for hours on landing strips while passenger lists were scrutinized. All that 'intelligence' and all that ruckus and flashing orange and what?..not one single person was detained, arrested, or deported. Not a single one.

The question is, who's 'intelligence'? And how bad is such 'intelligence' that it comes up 100% empty handed? Again we're being given a show intended to fool us into believing that the pointing fingers are really pointing at something. Was there even any of this so-called 'intelligence'?

I have bosses who are always screaming about how much work they have, while pushing it all onto the staff. I've learned to see an empty claim when it gets pushed down my throat. But the media is swallowing it whole. No one has asked the question, "Where are the terrorists on these flights?", "Who are they looking for?"

Another question is, how do they know they didn't let terrorists escape through their fingers by not finding any? The more I think about it, the more obvious it seems that Homeland Security just created all kinds of disruption in people's lives, as well as costly grounding and cancellations of flights for show. And Britain, France and Mexico are left scratching their heads. The US can share it's so-called 'intelligence' with all these countries and they (the other countries), having even more experience with terrorist attacks than we have, would actually help.

It's all theatre all right. Theatre of the truly absurd. With a media totally willing to suspend all disbelief!

Subj: Move On's War With the Nazi's

Dear BuzzFlash,

To loosely quote Greg Palast during a television appearance; the closer one is to the mark, the louder the objections from the RNC and other right wingers power masters.

Though I think an ad comparing Hitler to Bush would be unsuccessful by pulling focus away from the more current and equally alarming issues regarding the Bush administration, the parallels to the activities of the right wing junta and the Third Reich are striking. Many well documented editorials have been written tracing the frightening similarities.

The New York Times (a frequently used Rovian mouthpiece) didn't blush when running an editorial labeling Howard Dean a Nazi. The Dean smear is one more example more of their old tricks; accuse the other guy of what you are guilty of.

Instead of just apologizing, Move ON and others should point out the reasons why centrists, libertarians and liberals find this frightening comparison rings true.

Click here: N.Y. Senate race still tight - October 20, 1998

Everyone send this in to move on, crossfire, everyone.....scroll down till you get to this.

'Hitler' ad an issue in Kentucky

Kentucky Senate The open seat race between Republican Jim Bunning and Democrat Scotty Baesler has turned into a bare-knuckled battle focusing on Social Security, taxes, education and the two campaigns' tactics.

Polling suggests that Bunning and Baesler are in a tight fight, though Republican insiders appear to be more upbeat and optimistic than their Democratic counterparts.

The hottest topic of the Senate race has been a Bunning ad that used footage of Baesler at a Kentucky political event. The spot included close-up shots of the Democrat, pounding the lectern and screaming about a number of issues. In the background of the ad was Wagner, the German composer identified with Adolph Hitler.

Baesler's campaign complained bitterly about the ad, arguing that the camera shots and music were intended to make him look like Hitler. The Louisville Courier-Journal, the largest newspaper in the state, editorialized about the ad, strongly criticizing the Bunning campaign. But the Republican's campaign decided against pulling the ad or altering it in any way, fearing that that would be seen as an admission of guilt and prolong the issue.

Baesler, who voted against the Republican impeachment vote, hopes to rally Democrats to his campaign, while Bunning continues to hope that his conservative views and attacks on Baesler will attract conservative Democrats to his campaign.

Baesler started this race with a slight edge, but heavy GOP spending and advertising has changed that. Democrats hope that Bunning has made a mistake with his controversial TV ad, and that he will make more. As Election Day nears, it seems clear that this race will go down to the wire, though with insiders betting that Bunning has a slight edge.

Subj: MoveOn Ad/Editorial about Gillespie

Hi,

Just sent Ed Gillespie your excellent BuzzFlash Editorial about his feigned outrage over the MoveOn ad. Asked him simply what he "planned to do about it". Can't wait for his response!

think Eddie-boy will catch the irony of his own hypocrisy?

Best Wishes,

Another bit of food for thought: name me one foaming-mouth wingnut who can speak for a full minute without spewing either "femi-nazi", "enviro-nazi" or both.

Keep up the good work!

Subj: CPA Personnel Above the Law?

Hi Buzz,

A post today at CincyDemo blog <cincydemo.blogspot.com> may be of interest for the TalkLeft. "Is is true?" looks at the differing treatment received by the 'US Soldiers discharged for Abusing Iraqi prisoners' story in different organs of State Media--and why. It seemed to me the news that the CPA has given its own personnel de facto imperial status on the ground in Baghdad sheds light the issue.

I hope you will agree these stories deserve more attention.

Thank you for an excellent resource and for your continuing vigilance in our common struggle.

Subject: Another Crack in the Dam

It is a rarity that I agree with Michael Savage, but tonight I finally found some common ground. Savage told his listeners that he is so disgusted with Bush and the Republicans that the country would probably be better off with a Democrat in the White House.

As a true conservative, Savage has often broken rank with the Republicans based on their fiscal irresponsibility and capitulation on many social issues. Apparently Bush will go on the air Wednesday to announce that amnesty will be given to millions of illegal aliens. A staunch opponent to the Mexican immigrants pouring over our borders, Savage is so livid that he feels that it's time to put a Democrat in the White House so the Republican party can be forced to return to their core beliefs.

Interestingly, Ralph Nader said some similar things while on Washington Journal and Crossfire on Monday. Nader supports Kucinich, and indicated that he will decide at the end of the month whether or not he will make another run at the gold. He can't believe that the Dems aren't seizing on Republican anger to turn Bush's base against him. Apparently a group of disgruntled Texas Republicans has a laundry list of gripes against Bush. If it's happening in Bush's backyard, then it has to be resonating in many other parts of the country.

I'm starting to use this as part of my dissuasion of Bush supporters. Make them define themselves on the issues, and if they are conservative, then I recount all of the anti-conservative moves Bush has made. The huge deficits, expanding government, huge growth in the Medicare social program, an increased government role in education, etc. Then I explain how a Democrat in the White House would cause Congress to shift to the right to stop any leftist programs, thus creating a government that will operate as our founders intended.

We have to strike while the fire is hot, and since Bush voters are so riled up about the direction that the Republicans have headed, it's time to turn up the heat forcing some of their true conservative supporters to jump out of the frying pan.

Subj: My note to the RNC

You’re right, bush is nothing like hitler, rumsfeld never used the term blitzkrieg (sp) to describe the movement of US troops, and the rethuglicans don't brow beat their members into line, the party leaders from texas have never used homeland security apparatus to hunt down their opponents, they’re not nazis or fascists, they’re good god fearing chickenhawks, most of whom have never served their country but are more than happy to send everybody else’s sons and daughters to fight and possibly die, so why do they think such things…them and half the world…why? I mean, if you’re the ruling party you should be able to do whatever you want …right? I mean, if we lie our way into a war, that cost thousands of lives and billions of dollars and the vice president is caught with his hand in the cookie jar and the presidents political advisor outs a CIA agent for political gain and then is investigated by a former business partner…why would they say that? I think they say that because the jackboot fits!

Hooray for BuzzFlash! Hooray for MoveOn! Hooray for the 30 Second Ad creators! Maybe with cohorts like you guys and gals we might develop a real democracy in this country after all!

It will no doubt get worse before it gets better, but hang in there, BuzzFlash! With your powerful truth telling no wonder you've ruffled the feathers of those lying buzzards in Washington.

Stay strong, cheers and hugs from Beth Lamont.

Subj: Right Wing Slander of Moveon.org

Dear Editor,

It was to be expected that right wing news outlets would feign outrage of the (rightful) comparison's of Bush to Hitler. But Talon News (with it's popup link to GOPUSA) has taken this one step further. It seeks to portray Moveon as foreign based with the paragraphs:

<In fact, Talon News recently reported that one-third of MoveOn.org members are non-Americans and that $7.2 million was raised recently by what the group says is "small contributions from over 117,00 people."

Yet questions still linger about where the money is coming from.

"It is not clear how much money has been raised -- to date -- from foreign sources, but political websites from London to Portugal to Montreal are directing their citizens to stop the American president George Bush by donating to MoveOn.org," Matt Drudge recently posted recently posted on his website -- the Drudge Report.>

The link to this right wing filth can be found at: TalonNews.com

I would dearly love to see Moveon sue Talon for slander, as they should be forced to produce the documentation that would back up the claim that 1/3 of Moveon's members are not american. Where did they get this, or was it (more likely) something they simply made up from thin air? Then again, I wouldn't be surprised after this if half the world didn't become a member. It's true that around the entire world, no leader since Hitler has been so universally hated by the planet's population that George Bush.

It's long past time for those who oppose Bush to fight back and it's clear that Ed Gillespie, Talon News, the Drudge Report and all the other right wingers seek to intimidate all opposition into silence.

We can't let them get away with it.

re: Mattson's MoveOn.org ad

I'm glad to see Todd Mattson respond to the stupidity the RNC puts forth as news. Like thousands of other Americans, I reviewed and voted on the ads at MoveOn.org. I remember thinking this ad wasn't all that inflammatory. Merely pointing out historical facts. It should be obvious to anyone with even a modicum of intelligence that the RNC will not allow the First Amendment and facts get in the way of their efforts to rule the United States and the world. I think it is unfortunate that MoveOn.org felt compelled to back pedal on this matter.

Sincerely,

Tracy Hughes

NPR's BIASED COVERAGE

National Public Radio is conducting a Presidential Candidates Debate today in Iowa. We hope it will be fair and professional. But Mara Liasson's report on Morning Edition today covered all the campaigns active in Iowa and some that are not active in Iowa, but completely omitted mention of Dennis Kucinich, who has an extensive campaign in Iowa and who has been campaigning there this week.; Listen on this page:

Subj: Some more headlines to brighten your day!

Hi gang!

The Republicans win in Texas redistricting case. I know its a FoxNews link but I go there for a good belly-laugh.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,107540,00.html

Bush is going for the "no veto" record. What is highly unique about the article are the statistics: Clinton issued 37 during his administration and Bush I issued 44. Gee, could those numbers be because who was in control of the Congress and Senate at the time? Just another bit of FoxNews bias.

Keep up the good work!

Subj: Bush to further exacerbate the problem of AMERICAN UNEMPLOYMENT.

Bush is basically going to make the employment situation worse, and increase the possibility of terrorism all at the same time, so his corporate cronies can get cheap labor, all in an attempt to get hispanics to vote for him.

THIS IS TOTAL INSANITY!!
