Re: Rape in America's Air Force Dear Buzz: I just wanted you to know about Oprah's program on Monday, December 8, 2003. She had several women on her show who told about being raped by Air Force military cadets, and nothing has been done to prosecute these savages. They testified to the fact that more that 100 women have been raped in the past two (?) years, and that the Air Force has not once, ever prosecuted even one man for his crime. The women also testified that the cover-up goes all the way the way up the chain to generals in the military. I fear that this cover-up will be perpetuated, having come to public light. Makes one wonder about George Bush's 2 year flight from his military duties to the nation. I thought you should know about this, because I don't have the time to do the research on this. Thank you, Irene McNamara Subj: Convicted Congressman Janklow TV Media reports on convicted Congressman Bill Janklow do not include the affiliation GOP nor Republican. I have heard several Janklow updates on several channels, MSNBC, NBC, and CNN. I have yet to hear one of the reporters refer to him as a Republican. Is Rove sending out talking points to the media, other than FOX? The media might respond by saying they don't want to "politicize" this tragedy. But we remember the media echo chamber about disgraced "Democrat Gary Condit, Democrat James Traficant, Democrat Robert Toricelli, Democrat Barney Franks and etc." But you would be hard pressed to find out that Janklow is a Republican if you watched the Bush Propaganda Media. This is just another small but significant testimony to the Pro-Bush media. Esther Subj: House of Scamalot Greetings from San Francisco! If the Kennedy years were known as "Camelot," surely Bush, Jr.'s years (no more than four, let's hope) should be known as "Scamalot." With this in mind let's ponder for a moment the current conservative obsession with the deification of Ronald Reagan. (Ronnie's face replacing FDR's on a dime? Pul-leeeze, don't insult our history. And where are the closest railroad tracks?) As we all know, the guy's been a bit under the weather for some time, but "hanging on" in a rather preternatural way. (I'm referring to Reagan here, not Bush, Jr.) I would not be at all surprised to learn that St. Ronnie is actually at this very moment dead, dead, dead, gone to his reward---and either being kept in deep-freeze, or "alive" by artificial means--to be officially declared dead on and around...well, say, sometime in late October, 2004. In other words, just in time for the Bush Photo Op of the Century... mourning clothes and Heads of State from ALL around the world; kings, queens, princesses; marching bands, horses; and fanfare; and television cameras sprouting up like weeds; and Our George, dignity personified, and displaying such LEADERSHIP qualities. (Hey, he ain't even drunk!) And, from the "liberal" media spews an ensuing arousal of support for the bereaved, yet brave Republican party--even the Democrats are holding up, praising President Reagan at every chance (shhh: don't say Iran-Contra, don't say deficit)--as well as fresh, sharp photographic images for American voters to take along with them to the polling booth in early November. This ain't no fake turkey. Let's get the word out, and cut this Scamalot funeral ploy off at the pass. President Reagan deserves to be underground now. Sincerely, Chumleigh
Fang Subj: Worker's Rights? Not in Iraq! This is an outrage. Iraq - it's property and people - is nothing more than war booty to Bush Corp. Along with Wolfowitz's recent announcement, the brazen war-profiteering we see is vomit inducing. Wal-Mart can't be far behind.... http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=03/10/30/1627246 Mike Subj: Moon I haven't seen a lot about it yet, but I hope someone is digging up the dirt on why the US really wants to go back to the moon. This is another neoconservative military move. There is absolutely nothing on the moon that should attract us. But, as soon as the Chinese said that they plan to put a man on the moon, the US declared that we may go back up and build some kind of space colony on the moon. Bottom line: We will go back and claim the moon as part of the US so that no other country such as China can set up a missile launching system in space. Which is just what the US will do when we get there. Jeff Morgan Subj: Scotty Poo What’s the over/under on how many times Scott McClellan says, "secure," "prosperous" "free," "peaceful," and any combination of the same during ANY press conference. Gotta be in the hundreds. If someone were to parse his PCs, I’m sure several common words like these would be 50% of the adjectives he uses. "Made it very clear" and "consistently held position" are also big players, usually when it’s so unclear he can’t come up with a logical explanation or it’s a policy they change frequently. Larry Parker Subj: Support Kucinich!!! I find it most disturbing that the one candidate gunning for the Democratic nomination for president in 2004 who wants to pull us out of NAFTA and the WTO, Dennis Kucinich, is the most ignored of the whole bunch. Thanks to NAFTA, we've been bleeding higher-paying jobs to third-world nations for a decade--leaving minimum wage service jobs behind for Americans to scrape by on. This, coupled with the ever-rising cost of living and the continued devaluation of the U.S. dollar, is what is killing our economy the most. And corporate America profits from it all. Which means little rich-bitch, "I can't be bothered to show up for duty in the Air National Guard but I can sure as hell send the real fighters off to die for my war" George W. gets even richer. Why do you think Bush has had such an easy time in his campaign to raise $250 million from his corporate sponsors? If more American voters backed Kucinich's candidacy, if the mainstream press actually acknowledged it, we might have a better chance of putting a real Democrat in the White House in November. Mike Kwiatkowski Regarding the Guest Commentary of 12-10-03 "Whatever happened to the Plame Investigation?" I believe the larger question one needs to ask should be… Is there a terrorist cell operating out of the White House? 1. Two Senior White House Administration Officials recently outed a CIA operative and her cover corporation which she and other CIA operatives used, their mission was the detection and prevention of the spread of Weapons of Mass Destruction. This destroyed her and the other operative’s networks of spies and endangered their lives and that of their spies. What single treasonistic act could possible aid a terrorist group bent on using a WMD more? 2. White House Administration Officials have covered up/delayed the congressional investigation into the 9-11 terrorist attack on the New York twin towers. They have been threatened with subpoena by an independent investigative panel to force them to comply with the information requests of the independent investigative panel. Who does this help? 3. White House Administration Officials withheld and altered critical EPA health warnings as to the air quality in lower Manhattan just after the 9-11 attack thus endangering and harming the rescue workers and residents of Manhattan. Their illness is described as the "World Trade Center cough". How did this help Americans? 4. White House Administration Officials allowed a large number of Saudi Arabian nationals, including members of the royal family and the bin Laden family, to fill several jumbo jets and to fly out of American without being thoroughly interrogated. This at a time when no aircraft except military and officially authorized aircraft where allowed to fly. And after it was known that most of the 9-11 hijackers were of Saudi Arabian origin. Why? Who did this help? 5. The White House allowed the "Mystery Flights" out of Kabul Afghanistan to occur carrying many Taliban and al Qaeda fighters to Pakistan. Are they the ones mounting the attacks against our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq today? How does covering up or delaying the investigation of these event help or defend the safety of American citizens? Covering up or delaying them does give aid and assistance to our terrorist enemies whomever they are and where ever they are. How many DOTS does it take to point to an area of concern worthy of a major investigation? So don’t just read about this. Take action! Copy this and send it to your senators your local papers, whatever gets it out to the undecided. Hand a printed copy to that stubborn relative that only wants to believe what Rush tells him. The target is not the dittohead it is who ever is in the room with him that might still be able to reason and think. They might listen to the ensuing discussion and later read it and maybe even look into it themselves. John in Seattle Subj: Robert Novak and TREASON? To: BuzzFlash, Melanie Sloan, of CREW, wants to know what happened to the investigation into just who gave Valerie Plame's name to Robert Novak. BILL O'DELL, THATS ME, WANTS TO KNOW WHY AN INVESTIGATION IS NEEDED. Robert Novak, knowingly, gave the information to the enemy. This fact is not being denied. Would Novak still be protected by his newspeers if he gave a list of the rest of our security agents to our enemies. Does the freedom of the press have no limits whatsoever? Is the revealing of our secrets only a crime if those secrets are revealed in certain ways? Would Novak have had a right to give the names of our agents to an enemy agent in the lower level of a parking garage. Or, would it be better for him to print it in the newspaper, so he would be protected by freedom of the press? The silence of the press, on this issue, to protect one of its own, reduces the prestige of a newsperson to that of a lawyer or used car salesman. It should be noted that of the six newspersons given this name only Novak and his equally guilty editor printed it. Treason is still treason no matter how you package it. I have no intention of letting this matter drop until and unless someone explains to me how the actions of Robert Novak are not traitorous actions. William O'Dell To the UN and Media: Oh my god! I just called my mom and told her to turn on CNN Headline News. They just had a reporter at the White House saying George Bush might be willing to let France, Germany, Canada and Russia in on rebuilding contracts if they stop criticizing the Bush Administration! George Bush is the most dangerous terrorist to this world! Katie Johnson Re: Six Afghan Children Killed in U.S. Attack: This is the Second Killing of Children by U.S. Forces in Afghanistan This Week. Did you notice that further down in the article it indicates that in the earlier attack killing nine children that it's now thought the US didn't kill the terrorist suspect? And what happened to capture and trials? What kind of "model of democracy" is bombing "suspects"? Rosamond Subj: Maureen Farrell BuzzFlash, Maureen Farrell's article pointed up the people who blindly support this "presidency." They are opiated by fundamentalist religions and left brain dead from too much television. Unable to think coherently they merely ape the same lines like Christian Borgs until they must be true because I heard the same thing from Betty at church. When their arguments lack cohesion, sanity, or anything near the truth they result to the basest of arguments, name-calling. They are like little children who cannot be reasoned with no matter how much logic you throw at them, there is no logic in the Bible either, it's all a collection of fantasies, fables, and myths. The sad thing is they are blind to their own hypocrisy because they don't understand their own point of view as they never formulated it themselves. Kevin Murphy i have to tell you i never thought i would see the world hate us like it does now under gw bush! for christ sake, even canada hates us now! we are acting as if iraq is a prize for all of bush's friends! km in sc Subj: Mark my words Bush's "moon shot" will involve putting NASA under the aegis of the military. If he has his way, in a few years, when you look at the moon, the moon will be looking back at you. Rosamond Subj: Banned in Baghdad Dear BuzzFlash, With deaths and casualties mounting daily in Iraq and what is appearing to be a long hard slough of a quagmire - the Bush administration had reached out it's hand to the world and slapped it in the face. Barring countries (who did not support the Iraq Invasion) from submitting bids for rebuilding contracts is not the way to build international support. With one lip Bush is calling for international support - with the other lip he is alienating the world. That we need international support in terms of money, troops and resources is obvious - yet Bush continues with the "My way or the Highway" policies. That we need international support to fight a war on terror is also obvious - yet Bush continues with the "..for us or against us.." policies. It's becoming more apparent every day that any significant United Nation or world support won't be forthcoming as long as Bush remains in office. Many will say "...the hell with the world we will go it alone..." - however when the next terrorist attack occurs, or when Bush decides to invade another country the world is more likely to say "..to hell with America, let them go it alone..." . D. Hippauf Is this still the America I once knew????? Barbed wire around Iraqi villages??? Suzy Since the republicans have been in power, so many people have lost their jobs, yet they still prefer the republicans to be in charge. If that's the case then the people deserve what they get. Maybe one day they will realize that the republicans care only about the rich. A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: Task Force 121, preemptive manhunting U.S. shooters and Iraqi intelligence, oh, and and Israeli advisors... add some "coconut" theory and you have, voila, the Phoenix program. Clips:
Jueri Subj: Republicans Support the Greens. Did They Kill the Reform Party Too? It is without a doubt that the Republicans support the Greens. We have seen that they will leave no stone unturned when it comes to electoral strategy. In fact, what ever happened to the Reform Party? How is it that Pat Buchanan took it over and then went away quietly? Joseph Luna Subj: Rush Limbaugh I like to listen to Rush Limbaugh, because he spouts the party line from the RNC and he telegraphs what his masters are thinking. It's good to know your enemy and how he thinks. On Tuesday, in response to the Gore endorsement of Howard Dean, Mr. Oxycontin was absolutely apoplectic. He railed against Gore and Dean for two hours straight. Obviously, the Republicans were pinning all of their hopes on the idea that the mainstream of the Democratic Party would turn its back on Dean, the way it did on George McGovern in 1972. They wanted to marginalize Dean quickly, turning him into a caricatured "kook", and a champion of the far left "fringe" (their word). But I suspect Dean is not willing to fall into their trap. For starters, he's not about to allow them to outspend him. Secondly, his record as Governor is not easily pigeonholed as "liberal". In fact, I've heard that liberals in Vermont never really liked Dean all that much. Gore mainstreams Dean, ties him into the black vote and the DNC party regulars. Now, all we have to do is to convince Lieberman to shut up and go back to Connecticut. Doesn't he realize that his every venomous word is being taken down by Gillespie and his henchmen at the RNC for future use? What's wrong with this guy? On another positive note, MoveOn.org is running some extremely effective TV ads against Bush. Kudos to them!! I love the one with the Santa Claus in cowboy boots, looking over his Christmas list, commenting how Christmas came early this year for Bush's cronies and fatcats, with no-bid contracts in Iraq, 12 billion to the drug industry, lifting environmental regulations, etc. Donald Russo |
