108 Million Families to Get an Average $2,500 More in Tax Relief

USA Today reported on Friday that taxpayers' refund checks will
increase by 27% to an average $2,500 per family next year as a
result
of President Bush's tax relief. An estimated 108 million families will
receive refunds next year.

"The refunds will fatten bank accounts and, if spent, boost the
economy because consumer spending accounts for 70% of U.S.
economic
activity. That will help ensure that the economic gains underway do
not fizzle out, and it will ultimately benefit the 9 million Americans
who are out of work," USA Today reports. "The biggest winners ...
will
be the approximately 10 million married couples with a combined
income
of $46,700 to $56,800. Those couples dropped from the 27% bracket
to
the 15% bracket."

The President's Jobs and Growth tax relief is fueling the largest
economic surge in nearly twenty years and hascreated nearly
300,000
jobs in the last three months. However, President Bush will not be
satisfied until every American looking for work can find a job. He has
outlined a six-point economic plan to build on the success of his Jobs
and Growth agenda and to help our economy to create even more
job
opportunities for America's workers.

Billionaires and Liberal Soft Money Groups Plan Over $400 Million to
Defeat President Bush

Liberal soft money organizations specifically focused on defeating
President Bush are poised to raise over $400 million for the 2004
election and have already raised over $185 million. Bush-Cheney '04
is
likely to face a barrage of soft money from special-interest groups
next year and their top moneymen are calling their commitment to
beat
the President, "a matter of life and death."

Billionaire George Soros, one of the wealthiest men in the world, has
already promised $15.5 billion of his own money to soft money
groups
commited to defeating our President. In an interview with the
Washington Post Soros said, "It is the central focus of my life ...[it
is] a matter of life and death."

The Wall Street Journal editorial board looked at George Soros and
Harold Ickes, the Democrats' soft money barons, and their specific
purpose of raising unlimited, unregulated soft money to defeat a
single candidate. According to the Journal, "Asked whether he would
trade his $7 billion fortune to unseat President Bush, Mr. Soros
opened his mouth. Then he closed it. The proposal hung in the air:
Would he become poor to beat Mr. Bush? He said: 'If someone
guaranteed
it.'"

President Bush Calls for Action on Reforms to Make Health Care
More
Affordable

President Bush visited the Englewood Neighborhood Center in
Orlando,
FL yesterday to participate in a roundtable meeting with seniors and
deliver remarks on Medicare. His speech was simulcast via satellite
to
five Medicare events occurring around the country in Phoenix,
Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, and Philadelphia.

The President continued to urge Congress to act to strengthen and
modernize Medicare.

* We have a historic opportunity to get legislation passed this year
that improves Medicare for America's seniors. * There are 10 million
seniors today who have no coverage for prescription drugs.
America's
seniors are now bearing the full impact of rising drug costs, and
many
are being forced to decide between paying their bills or purchasing
the medicines they need. * We have an opportunity to create a new
prescription drug benefit under Medicare that will enable seniors
without drug coverage to cut their drug bills in half.

The President is committed to providing more choices and better
benefits under Medicare and he urges Congress to take action.
America's seniors have waited long enough for the prescription drug
coverage they deserve.

Excerpts from the President's Remarks on Modernizing Medicare

"Many seniors depend upon Medicare. That's what we're here to talk
about. And the Medicare program is a basic trust that must be
upheld
throughout the generations. Our government has made a
commitment to
our seniors -- the federal government has made a commitment to
our
seniors through the Medicare program. We made a commitment to
provide
good health care for seniors, and we must uphold that commitment.

"Each of the seniors that I talked to today understands that Medicare
needs to be modernized. It needs to be changed. It needs to be
brought
into the 21st century. They all want the Medicare system that allows
them to pick the health care coverage that best meets their needs.
And
I want to share with you some of the thoughts that we had."

"Remember, Medicare was created at a time when medicine
consisted
mostly of house calls and surgery and long hospital stays. That was
the nature of medicine when Medicare was created. And therefore,
the
Medicare system responded to that. Now modern medicine includes
preventive care, out-patient procedures, at-home care, and
miraculous
new prescription drugs. Medicine has changed; Medicare hasn't."

"In Medicare reform, we're applying this basic principle: Seniors
should get to choose the kind of coverage that works best for them,
instead of having that choice made solely by the government. You
see,
every member of Congress gets to choose a health care plan that
makes
the most sense for them. And the same for federal employees. If
choice
is good for members of the Congress, then choice is good for
America's
seniors.

"For seniors without any drug coverage now, the reforms will make a
big difference in their lives. In return for a monthly premium of
about $35, or $1 a day, most seniors now without coverage will see
their drug bills cut roughly in half. A senior who has no drug
coverage now and a monthly drug cost of $200 would save more
than
$1,700 on drug costs each year. A senior with monthly drug costs of
$800 would save nearly $5,900 on drug costs each year."

"The choice is simple: Either we will have more debate, more delay
and
more deadlock, or we'll make real progress. I made my choice -- I
want
real progress. And I urge the Congress to take the path of progress
and give our seniors a modern Medicare system. We've come far,
let's
finish the job."
