Dear BuzzFlash, Subj: Complain to Leno The right wing succeeds because of their constant whining about media bias. Of course, we are the ones whose views are distorted or ignored by the media. If the wingers can inundate the LA Times with complaints because they did their job, let's tell Leno a thing or two about shilling for Arnold. His address is: tonightshow@nbc.com Let your readers know. Margaret Subj: Check out washingtonpost.com: Bush Urges Public To Be Upbeat on Iraq
He really wouldn't know much about this in light of his time in/not in the texas air national guard. Click here: washingtonpost.com: Bush Urges Public To Be Upbeat on Iraq Steve Laudig Subj: Treasongate Dear Buzz, The outing of V. Plame is a most treasonous act period. My family, your family, Arnold's family is now in danger. Op-ed writers have expressed this very elegantly. I have heard them also express that nothing much will come of it. Because of no independent investigator, and a constant drumbeat ( echo chamber?) of neocon excuses ( they were democrats!), we are told this won't amount to much. I would like to suggest a nationwide multiple bus tour originating in the west and finishing at the White House next summer. The busses would stop at town hall and city council meetings to get the message out. The message being that the People of the United States will not tolerate an act of treason originating from the White House, whether it be Republican, Democrat, Independent or Green. This issue should be nonpartisan, of equal concern. It makes me sick to see neocons rushing to defend Rove when they should unleash the Patriot Act on the White House. The defenders of Rove have now cast themselves in a bright light as defenders of true traitors. Bush has not only changed the tone, he changed the tune. I believe that a multiple bus tour would draw people of every stripe. It would bring home the idea that no one can get away with treasonous acts. It would educate the "red states" to see clearly that this republican does not take their security seriously. And if the tour culminated in a massive demonstration at the White House, it would guarantee this issue would not go away. Blitz Subj: white house political misuse of publicly funded website The White House has been using the official White House website for political purposes for months now. Go to www.whitehouse.gov and look at the items in the news section. You will see that many of the President's speeches that are listed in the news were at clearly political events such as Bush-Cheney 04 fundraisers. It is not legal to use public funds or facilities for political purposes -- and your and my tax dollars pay for that website, the posting of materials on it, etc. Remember how the GOP tried to catch Clinton/Gore using WH phones to make political phone calls....here they are blatantly using a publicly funded website for political purposes. Please look into this. A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: Criminal Exposure of CIA Operative Both President Bush and the major media are deceiving the American public when they say that finding and prosecuting the Government sources of Bob Novak (and the Washington Post) is a difficult task. To the contrary, in BRANZBURG V. HAYES, 408 U.S. 665 (1972), the Supreme Court clearly held that grand juries have the power to require reporters to reveal the identity of "confidential sources" who may be guilty of a crime or have information relevant to a crime. The Court specifically rejected a First Amendment "freedom of the press" privilege, and further rejected an argument that the grand jury must exhaust other alternatives before requiring a reporter to reveal his source. In short, a D.C. federal grand jury can swiftly assist President Bush in "getting to the bottom" of this treasonous crime by immediately subpoenaing Bob Novak and the Washington Post reporters who know the identity of the "high administration officials" responsible for disclosing Ms. Plame's employment as a CIA spy. If I were a D.C. grand juror, I would be asking the federal prosecutor why this has not already been done, and demanding that Mr. Novak and the other knowledgeable Washington reporters be immediately summoned for questioning. Further, in UNITED STATES V. NIXON, 418 U.S. 683 (1974), the Supreme Court held that the public has the right to every man's evidence -- including a sitting President of the United States -- and that the President and his subordinates must provide a grand jury with requested information relative to a federal crime. Whatever Attorney General Ashcroft and his subordinates may or may not do, a D.C. grand jury clearly has the power to "get to the bottom of" this despicable crime. I hope that patriotic D.C. grand jurors will see their duty and do it. Richard Young, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Subj: New Rules I live in California, but I don't want your pity. I've survived a hurricane, a tornado, the Marine Corps, Vietnam, two divorces, several earthquakes, a near drowning and Pauly Shore--I'll get through the Arnold years as well. But since the line here between politics and entertainment have been officially obliterated, I want to contribute to the revised rules that now govern what former state resident Aldous Huxley might have called "a brave newer world". Apparently, the minimum (or perhaps maximum) time it now takes a political outsider to become a good ol' boy is two days. On October 7th, Governor-elect Groper--with the sheepishness of a child caught with his hand in a cookie jar--assured us voters that after he was elected, he would address our concerns about his hands seeking elsewhere. On October 9th, after announcing his transition team, he was asked about those allegations as he left the stage. Without breaking stride, he said "old news". Off he went, likely to dunk our newly-tripled car tax headfirst in a toilet. Even in these, the Bush years, that takes the yellowcake for cynicism. And me? Thanks for asking. I'm going to endure the next three years or next recall with a traditional American response: psychic numbing. I can't use marijuana because that supports al-Qaeda (even the Humboldt harvest, somehow), so I'm going with the more mainstream mode, drinking. Thank Random Chance I live in Wine Country. Allen Perkins Subj: Gitmo Blues Dear Buzz, Does anyone else see the irony in former Governor Bush's announcement that he wants to push for an end to Castro's Stalinist rule in Cuba at the same time he's set up a concentration camp there which violates our Constitution and the Geneva Convention and has been condemned by the International Red Cross and the world community? To think that I should live to see the day when an American "president" would vie with Castro for the title of worst human-rights offender in Cuba... Jon Krampner Subj: California's Unholy Trinity? One week prior to the California recall election, the American Life League chose to run a peculiar full-page ad in the Sacramento Bee denouncing the “Unholy Trinity”of Gray Davis, Cruz Bustamante, and Arnold for being Catholics with pro-choice positions. After careful consideration, perhaps a true unholy trinity does exist here in California, namely Arnold, William Simon, and Richard Riordan. Coincidentally all are linked to the infamous May 2001 meeting at the Peninsula Hotel. Talk about stacking the deck...Riordan vs. Simon in the 2002 gubernatorial primary. Riordan lost, then Simon lost, so the recall was initiated and Simon dropped out to support Arnie and Riordan stayed out to support Arnie; obviously the third time’s a charm. The public finally accepted the deal packaged in one popular action figure. The legacy lives on with both Riordan and Simon being appointed to Arnold's transition team along with a list of others with questionable motives. Sincerely, A BuzzFlash Reader in California Subj: The New Governator Now, folks, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure this one out! And...granted all this is scattered lines in papers here and there....but! #1. About a year ago...Arnold met with Ken Lay #2. Approximately the same time...he met with Bush #3. The Resident of the white house knows he needs the 54 electoral votes for 2004. #4. But, before all the above...the Cheney Energy policy jacked up the California energy prices by 6000% ..yeah, that's right...that is 6 and three O's...the same one that we, the people, cannot see...it is privileged, you see (it is redacted from the report) #5. So, in comes the dumb Austrian...the Puppet #2 and gets his name on the ballot and all of tinseltown goes insane...this coming after some mystery man named Darrell Issa (who is he?) got together out of his own pocket a mil and a half to get (buy) the names on a recall petition. Of course, the people of Colliefornia were sick and tired of energy prices 6000% higher...who wouldn't be? And, of course, they blame the governor..he was the head of the state at the time....he had taken from Pete Wilson a deficit and turned it into a surplus...but The Washington Crowd could not have that...THEY NEEDED THAT STATE FOR 2004!!! You see, they cannot be sure of the middle, or blue states (or whatever the dems carried) anymore....so they cornered the market in Fla.. and Texas...(Never New York) too many people there with brains....so it had to be Colliefornia!!!!!! (Am I the only american who wonders if this was laundered money from the RNC)?? What did this Darrell Issa have to gain....he is already a congressman..and he had no intent of running for Gov. ergo...the puppet from Austria #6. And most important....Cruz Bustamante...has filed suits against Enron for 9 billion dollars for the overcharge during the rolling blackouts. #7. Does the new governor overrule the Lt. Governor and forgive the debts for the overcharge? All of these are things that everyone has to watch during the next year...it is very important. If they take over the this country...we do not have much left....it is that simple. I have witnessed something from this election, that I don't like very much...and it is not just a Dumb Austrian Body Builder!!!!!!! Shirley, St. Louis Hey --

Subj: Drudge--Bombings--Pig Boy Thought it was great that an Drudge posted an article about Pat Robertson's suggesting that a nuke is the only solution was posted next to "Ten year old arrested for school bomb threats." I noted while following Rush "Pig Boy" Limbaugh's drug issues that the left has a major problem. We are too nice. If someone on the left were as sanctimonious as Rush (O.K., I don't see how that could happen, but you get the idea) and was found to be a druggie, he would be excoriated by the right. Also when his maid said she bought Rush enough pain pills to kill an elephant, no one on the left asked how this would be relevant to a brute of Rush's size. Bob Nelson Subj: It's time . . . BuzzFlash, Buzz, regarding your news analysis from the Center for American Progress . . .this analysis deserves to be on the front page of the New York Times and every other major newspaper and it should be done every time Bush opens his mouth. Then maybe he will stop giving speeches in order to charge we taxpayers when he really is just stumping for dollars for the Republican Party coffers. There are many Americans who will go with the floe. That is what happened to President Clinton. People today, who are still Clinton haters, can't give any profound reason why. If the media really did their job, Bush would not have time to float around the Country and expound on his day dreams. He would have to come down out of the clouds to the real world. . .and answer to the people of this Country. My own daydream. . .:) Shirley Smith Subj: Thanks for the MP3! Hey Rush, Thanks for the mp3 file of your drug addiction confession. It truly brought a tear to my eye. Hey, can you post another mp3 for me? How about the one from 1995 that goes "...if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up." THAT would be great to put with this one as a set. Oh, and since you're quitting, can you send me a few thousand of the pills you have stockpiled? I want to experience the true meaning of " dittohead." And say "hi" to Noel for me! You know, she got 10 whole DAYS for crack - and that wasn't even her first offense! Wheee-doggies, she must have connections in Florida! Thanks, Rush! Jim Peters Subj: Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute Dear Buzz, I agree with Barbara on the nine Democrats running for president. Anyone of them would make a much better president than Bush. I watched the debate and thought each one of them did an excellent job. Wesley Clark handled himself very well and seems to be very intelligent. Jeff Greenfield tried to make fun, in a subtle way, of John Edwards' claiming that he comes from humble roots and as soon as Al Sharpton got a chance to speak he really went to bat for Edwards! I thought Dick Gephardt won the debate as he really hammered out his point of view. Al Sharpton, someone who has been demonized by the media as a left wing wacky Liberal is always the most honest, colorful and funny in his replies. Al Sharpton would make a great president too! Carol Mosley Braun is so eloquent and compassionate. She is a stateswoman! I really enjoyed the debate and came away with a completely different picture of these nine Democratic candidates than what Candy Crowley and the rest of the rabid Right Wing press would have you believe! Nancy Lynn Nagy (TN) Subj: Note to Al Franken Could you maybe revise that book....Rush Limbaugh is a big fat, pill popping, Idiot? Sorry, I just couldn't pass it up, because I know that when this man comes back to his show all healed, or not:...he will start again making fun of every democrat I know. I have despised him at times...when he, on the day after JFK, Jr's death, said, "well today the women of American know that not only can JFK, Jr. not walk on water, he can't even fly over it." This man is evil...I do not think he will ever be nice...no matter what they find...and like Nicole Bush...he will get a slap on the wrist and never do a day in any jail!...And if it was a poor white kid or a black kid...they would be put away for years....What is it that makes them like teflon?????? Nothing sticks!!! Arnold is flirting....Clinton was evil....Bush lies and tries to fight every nation in the world....Clinton could not get help after indicting Bin ladin! Clinton lied about a mutual sex act...and was dubbed the most evil man in American...Bush lies about the trade center bombings...reasons for going into Iraq, and killing thousands of innocents!! And, he is backed up....Democrats in the congress and senate are playing dead!! I will still hope.....We have some wonderful people running for Prez...we must go out in numbers....big numbers, mammoth numbers this time!!! Shirley.............St. Louis Subj: Limbaugh wanted druggies to go to jail I thought Limbaugh said you should lock up drug users and throw away the key. Hmm. Has he changed his mind? mv As usual, superb. I've come up with a little acronym to describe the average Bush/Rush/Fox, et al mindless follower. S.O.W.G. Scared Old White Guy. Keep up the great work. Bush's ship of fools appears to be listing. Doug Keene Subj: Rush logo Does anyone find it ironic that Rush's EIB (excellence in broadcasting) logo looks like two prescription pain capsules? EIB
Logo: stevie g Subj: My take on California. Approximately 2 years ago, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ken Lay, Karl Rove and Bill Simon met in California to discuss...What??? No-one knows, but I can guess from the people Arnold is surrounded by... Bill Simon, Pete Wilson and Richard Riordan...all right-wing conservative idealogues....and two of them are failed governor wannabe's. Now, as to what happened at that meeting...Arnold was hired to do the only thing he knows how to do...be an actor. Rove et al, saw a weak governor who won with a minority vote count,in a state with a lot of electoral votes, and a history of "liberal" causes and regulations, ripe for a hostile take-over. What did they do..? They searched for a figurehead who might be able to win a recall, mobilized the right-wing conservatives with promises of religion, reduced taxes, government reform, and regulatory reduction..All issues that the right-wing adores, and poured money and a right-wing Rove appointed and led team and went to town. Within days of Arnold entering the race, the campaign looked identical to the Bush campaign, with the " sound-bite " rhetoric, the carefully orchestrated imagery of back-drops, shirts, jackets etc...the empty catch phrases carefully omitting any specifics; all designed to impact the base belief system of the right....anti-immigration, anti-welfare, racism, anti-socialism and anything that remotely can be accused of being such, anti-taxation ( re-distribution of wealth ), anti-regulation, and comically...Arnold using the " God " word... I believe that Arnold will ultimately govern nothing...He is an actor following a script which has been written by Karl Rove..He will continue with the imagery and pretense by occupying the Governor's mansion, but all policy will be dictated by his handlers..Simon, Wilson, Riordan, and ultimately, Rove. Watch for the removal of all regulatory appointees of Davis and their replacement by Right-Wing ideologues over the next 60 days, and the dismantling of all regulatory oversight ( enforcement ) of the environment, Oil & Gas ( especially off-shore ) drilling, forestry service, and immigration oversight. ( including border tightening. ) Also watch for increased Police spending under the guise of anti-terrorism and the application of the " patriot act " to stop public dissent. This is part of the right-wing conspiracy that was so obvious during the Clinton years...make no mistake about it...we are in serious jeopardy in this country as it becomes a right-wing pseudo- theocracy ( read dictatorship ). Geoff in Austin, Texas. Re: Junkie Alert: Limbaugh Admits He's a Pill Popping Druggie If Rush is in so much pain and is so debilitated, how come he is always playing golf -- especially in the big pro-am tournaments such as Pebble Beach. Just asking. Lynn Subj: Rush Limbaugh Thanks for your editorial about the hypocrisy of Limbaugh. I wrote our local paper, the PIttsburgh Post-Gazette, and also called radio station KDKA in Pittsburgh to talk to the program manager about canceling Limbaugh's show. I feel all Americans who are aware of how his hate filled diatribes have injured good people in and out of government should do the same in their towns and cities. We do have freedom of the press in the USA, but these demagogues were not elected and can't be voted off of our airwaves, so we have to put the pressure on the people who help to further their agendas. At least the media outlets which carry this junk should be asked to also air programs with the opposing view, preferably immediately following the first program. Help to change American radio to more reflect what is good about America! Maybe Buzz-Flash could help. Grace:Love Re: This is What Rush Limbaugh Thinks About People Who use Drugs WHAT WOULD RUSH LIMBAUGH AND THE REPUBLICANS BE SAYING IF THIS HAD HAPPEN TO A DEM. OR BILL CLINTON? Subj: Google Search on Limbaugh Dear Buzz, I find it odd that when I do a google search for "Rush Limbaugh" and "back surgery" or "spinal surgery" I find no mention whatsoever of Rush ever having had any sort of back surgery, other than links to today's forced admission. Try it yourself. I don't care if uses drugs, I care that he is a moral hypocrite. And if he's LYING to justify his HYPOCRISY, well then he just blew my mind.... Aaron Cossel, Portland, OR Subj: Another One Bites the Dust The man who harried and harassed the Clintons for eight years. The man who demonized the so called liberal establishment everyday for over a decade. The man who has become the unofficial spokesman for the Bush family and the Republican party. The man who daily heaped scorn on those less fortunate in our society who he labeled as weak and lazy. The man who holds in contempt those who show compassion for the weak, the poor ,the disenfranchised. The man who called those who would try to save our environment as Wackos. The man who everyday, on the behalf of the un-elected liars he serves, calls for an illegal and unjustified war for profit, whose victims are mostly the powerless and innocent. The man who earned millions shilling for the thieves and swindlers who sit in the White House, in Congress and the Senate. The man who praises the greedy corporate ceo crowd whose loyalty is not to their country or fellow citizen but to the the almighty dollar. The man who cries about how overtaxed his billionaire corporate buddies are while millions of American jobs disappear overseas. The man who plays golf and smokes expensive cigars while everyday more Americans become homeless. The man who gives his audience exactly what they want, "Bullshit!" Well folks it looks like the all powerful Maha Rushie, The Doctor Of Democracy, The Dean Of The Institute Of Conservative Studies and so on turns out to be a weakling no different then those poor souls he has viciously criticized for years. Pray for this fake, phony, fraud, hypocrite devoted ditto heads, as he never did and never will for the less fortunate among us. Leon Fisher Re: Cheney Lashes Out at Critics of Policy on Iraq, 10/11 NYT [LINK] Dear Buzz: According to Eric Schmitt's article "Cheney Lashes Out at Critics of Policy on Iraq" in today's New York Times, Dick Cheney isn't up to snuff on current events. Mr. Schmitt quotes Cheney as asking the following rhetorically: " Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike?" Why, since George W. Bush, Jr., Dick. Oh, sorry. DUH-bya wasn't very polite about it, was he? Regards, William Wilgus Subj: Leno and NBC Move Right Dear BuzzFlash, Regarding Jay Leno's apparent move to the right and his embrace of Gov. Gangbang - could it have anything to do with NBCs need for FCC approval of its merger with Universal Studios? Maybe that is also why the Democrats on West Wing have gone as soft as their real life counterparts. Sincerely, Glenn Anderson Subj: Iraq Accountability Dear BuzzFlash, Thanks for all that you do. I don't know how reader commentaries work, and I'm not necessarily lobbying for one, but neither would I mind having the following printed. Or, better may be your expansion on the subject, since you could surely illuminate it better than I. One critical ramification of the Bush administration's transfer of control in Iraq seems to be flying completely under the media's radar: the transition of accountability from Congress to no one but the President. The Department of Defense is accountable to Congress, must have all of its budgetary moves approved by Congress, and must face the music when it screws up. The National Security Agency, on the other hand, answers to the President alone. Isn't this move, then, a transparent sheltering of accountability from lawmakers and voters? The media have barely been able to contain their glee in covering Secretary Rumsfeld's hissy fits this week; payback time for all of those who have felt abused and condescended to by the macho Defense czar for the past couple of years. Meanwhile, the scandalous element of this transition is ignored. Sincerely, Iana Hansen Subj: Forgive and Forget "We have to look at people who they are today, not what they may have done wrong in the past," Hatch told the National Press Club Friday. "There isn't a person in this room or anywhere else in the world who is perfect, who has lived perfectly." It appears many, including Orrin Hatch, believe Arnold did at least a portion of what he is accused of. Let bygones be bygones, he says. All I can say is, now is the time for anyone who thinks their past might catch up with them to run for office. Gary Hart, now is the time because the GOP is prepared to forget everything you have ever done. I think Bill Clinton should go after whatever lunatic Republican rep is left in New York. Come on Bill go for the governorship of New York, Orrin will help you. I am planning to hold Hatch to his word. He will not be bringing up anyone's past in 2004. I am beginning to think there must be something in Orrin's closet that is about to pop right out. Forgive and Forget is the new motto of the GOP and I think we should hold them to it. Karen Webb, Moore, Ok. Subj: The Tip of the Iceberg Buzz- Tonight on the News Hour, William Safire had this to say when they were discussing the reorganization of the reconstruction of Iraq - and I paraphrase- "the last time we saw this kind of reorganization into the White House was when Poindexter was there and the end result was Iran-Contra." In other words, they are shifting the responsibility from the Pentagon to the National Security Advisor within the Executive Branch. The Valerie Plame exposure was probably a distraction for something bigger going on behind the curtain... will we ever know? MJG Re: Top 5 Headlines on BuzzFlash.com Every article justifies what I said at the time of the coup. "Get used to living for a long time under a coup as there will never be another fair election." I have researched and cannot find a time when a coup voluntarily gave up power. I bet you can't either. Goodbye America. Joseph Subj: Limbaugh store used to sell Vicodin The USA Today web story on Limbaugh includes several adds for mail-order Vicodin. Very good merchandising strategy, right? The original story is here: [LINK] I have a copy here (in case it is pulled): [LINK] The ads rotate so if you don't see a Vicodin ad right away, just refresh. (This is true even on my site). Zizka I saw the story at Scobie Davis: http://www.scoobiedavis.blogspot.com/ Subj: The Big RUSH of Support Dear BuzzFlash, My mom heard this spin on Rush's drug use: "At least he didn't claim, 'I didn't swallow.'" Can you believe it?? They are using RUSH's drug abuse as yet another occasion to bash Clinton! I still believe that Rush had to be dealing the drugs as well. I don't believe this was only an "addiction." Robyn Miller Subj: Bush Thinks . . . Dear BuzzFlash, Starting a sentence with the words "Bush thinks"... is probably not a good idea or accurate. Bush believes is closer to the mark. AND if he believes that Iraq is "probably better than we think it is" (it would be valuable to understand how he arrived at this conclusion) then perhaps he would back up his belief with a little action. Mr. Bush could do us the favor of changing his residence. I'm sure he could find a nice empty presidential palace in Iraq. His Iraqi "success story" the Iraqi police brigade could protect him from the "remnants of Saddam". He could get the hell out of our White House where he doesn't belong and has never belonged and we could set about repairing the damage resulting from his occupation. Sincerely, Carol Davidek-Waller Subj: Rush Limbaugh NOW I UNDERSTAND! (Sometimes I wonder about the way the whole world thinks.) Republicans are (of course) expressing great sympathy for Rush on Faux news and elsewhere, and they are talking about how poor Rush is going to deal with the stress of drug treatment and "make a comeback" because Rush "is a fighter" and they admire how Rush admits it all and is taking responsibility for it. (Yeah sure he is. Now that Rush is literally pinned to the wall with very possible felony Federal legal problems and now that Rush has discovered exactly what it is that as Rush said last week that, ...he is up against here...). (Blah, blah, blah.) Democrats are taking the obvious wide open shot a very well-exposed Republican jugular and they are calling poor Rush some well-deserved schoolyard names like junkie and hypocrite among others. HOWEVER, Intelligent people do not use names to insult people. They say something like this to themselves: 1.) Okay, Rush (literally) says that, "he has been addicted for five years to pain pills" right? 2.) AND there are plenty of credible reports from Rush's housekeeper/dealer that Rush was buying (and also very likely popping) up to (or maybe more than) 100 Oxycontin tablets a day. 3.) Well, Oxycontin is literally called, "hillbilly heroin" on the streets of America because it is literally made from the very same base drug of Opium that the drugs of Morphine and Heroin also come from. (Depending on how much you refine and process the base drug of Opium, you can have any drug mentioned above.) 4.) What all this means you silly democrats is not that Rush was a junkie for 5 years. You must look at it conversely and observe the obviously missed reality that for five long years, every single word that has come out of Rush's mouth or any word that been penned by his hands were essentially the ravings of a man who was high on a drug called hillbilly heroin! (Among other pills.) NOW I FINALLY UNDERSTAND WHERE RUSH WAS COMING FROM ALL THESE YEARS, DON'T YOU? RUSH WAS LOCKED IN HIS HOME STUDIO, HIGHER THAN A KITE, RAVING LIKE A MAN OUT OF HIS MIND FOR A DARN GOOD REASON! RUSH WAS BAKED LIKE JAKE THE WHOLE TIME AND MIGHT HAVE EVEN CAUSED HIS OWN DEAFNESS AS ONE OF MANY RESULTS! (Now if we can only figure out where Ann Coulter, Dennis Miller, O'Reilly and the rest of the right wing whacko's score their drugs or crack-rock from, sensible people would finally understand them too.) (Nyuk, Nyuk.) Ah, but it is probably true as well, so SOMEBODY should use that one. Help yourself. Pass it around. Please. Do you democrats not understand that in any televised debate with any right wing wacko in the very immediate future, you democrats can now pull out a classically INTELLIGENT insult by saying something along the lines of, "You have been talking to Rush's housekeeper again, haven't you?" or you can make some inference that, "they too are stoned out of their mind like their anointed conservative media leader Rush Limbaugh".) My god, you can't really ruin this man's credibility and get him off the air forever by insulting him with names like you guys are can you? (I really wonder about the overall intelligence of the world if that's the best you have.) Bottom line you democrats, instead of calling Rush these petty names like a little kid would (well deserved names or not), why is it that the democrats are just too blind to see that they have a chance to destroy him (and his minions) BUT GOOD with this entire angle of attacking everything he ever said in the last 5 years "while stoned"! (Instead of flinging these cheap insults like junkie that will only drive Rush supporters to circle their own wagons around him in a protective way, go for the fact that he was doped out of his head as he ranted the last five years and therefore nothing he said/says has any more credibility than an average street person who is high on heroin and babbling about aliens and bugs on his skin.) You post my letters all the time BuzzFlash (well, 6 actually this year) because I usually have GOOD ideas. (Except that one time with the skunk in the car. That was a bad idea.) (Nyuk, nyuk) (But seriously, next time I could really use some "contributor" money or a consulting job for my political advice since I am a former Inc. 500 Co. supervisor who was destroyed by Mr. Bush's so-called wonderful economy.) Hasta la vista as Governor Ah-nold would say. (Sorry guys, I just couldn't resist a second jab at the democrats for that whole darn fiasco in Cali.) Peace, Dean A. Doepke Subj: Illegal Drugs Any person currently in prison for buying and possessing drugs illegally should be immediately freed, and should remain free until the Rush Limbaugh criminal case is decided. Then those persons should have their sentences adjusted to parallel that which is handed down to the Great-Republican-Conservative-Real- American, aka Rush! Dorothy Schreyer Subj: Bush Funding Christian Taliban BuzzFlash, http://www.BuzzFlash.com/contributors/03/10/con03007.html http://www.pbs.org/now/politics/churchandstate.html The importance of the issue raised by the reader commentary is revealed in the latest NOW (10-10-03). Bush is funding Christian Taliban organizations with our tax money without any regard to discrimination in hiring and allocation of funds. Pat Robertson is shown gleefully announcing the receipt of millions of dollars of OUR money. And if Pat hadn't made a public announcement, we would know nothing about which organizations are getting the money. The Bush cabal refuses to release any information. The "iron curtain" of this administration is huge and impenetrable. I joked a year ago about whether it would be better to live under Moslem or Christian fundamentalists. It is no longer a funny proposition. It is terrifying. BuzzFlash Reader Subj: Message to Protestors: We'll Get You All Dear BuzzFlash: Just thought your viewers might be interested in this alarming new development. The "right" was hard at work making the story as positive as possible, including mentioning the possibility that Limbaugh may not even have to go to prison, if a plea bargain allows him to give the source of his drugs in exchange for his freedom. Wasn't it not too long ago that John Ashcroft sent a memo to all District Attorneys, directing them to stop engaging in plea bargains, and to charge those arrested with the most serious crime applicable, and to seek the most severe punishment as well? I guess it depends on who is arrested. My mistake. A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: rush limbaugh and his back A lot of dittoheads are floating the story that Rush had back surgery which was botched and left him with intractable pain. This intractable pain was what caused him to take so many pain pills that he became addicted. In case that spin hits the news agencies, here is the story on how he does at golf http://www.golfserv.com/gdc/news/article.asp?id=15650 Amazing that a man with such a bad back in such unbearable pain can play golf............. A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: Bushitting on Leaks :The DUBYA WAY http://www.papillonsartpalace.com/bushC.htm It's clear that he's up to his armpits in this scandal and his media protectors will cover for him at all cost! Bradley Subj: Those Dudes Dear BuzzFlash, I encourage all your readers to contact Premiere Radio Networks and call for the cancellation of the Rush Limbaugh show. Also turn off the Jay Leno show. E-mail him heavily and let him know your distaste for him and his AH-nold love affair. Leno bashes the Clintons every night. Let the Washington Post know what you feel about Novak and the leak of the CIA operative. We have to organize and let the people (right wring x-tremist) know how we feel about them. thanks Carolina Dear Buzz, Your piece on Leno and The Groper my sentiments exactly. I will NEVER watch Leno's show again.....besides Letterman was always my favorite. When Leno was asked a few months ago what political party he belonged to he said "my wife Mavis is a democrat" and when pressed what his political party was he evaded the question. If it looks like a duck, acts like a duck its a duck.....case closed. Colette Miller |
