Subj: GAO Hearing on military equipment sales Dear BuzzFlash, Yesterday, October 7, 2003, I watched the C-Span hearing by the GAO members as they grilled military and civilian personnel about the sale of defective over-battledress suits, nuclear materials, labs as big as refrigerators, incubators as big as washing machines, and many other items suitable for making wmd!! Including biological weapons, anthrax, sarin, etc. Sold separately to individual buyers (then gathered together to one agent of (terrorism group?) by the Pentagon under the guise of a phony corporation, masterminded by Home Security and top echelon people (wh?) The Pentagon buys some of the stuff back and resells it. One civilian witness told the investigating panel that he only found out about this illegal conspiracy at the end of August 2003, but on severe challenge by a panel member, he did finally admit that he has known about it way before the date he gave. Now I hear that Bush's stooge searching for wmd in Iraq, has located labs capable of storing wmd in Iraq!! The ones sold by the Pentagon I am sure. And the idea being that eventually Bush will be able to 'find' stocks of biological and other weapons in Iraq and claim Eureka!! I searched the papers today, and found nothing about the hearing. There was a vague and smoothly worded article in the Information Clearing House section last evening, but it was not an article guaranteed to set up hackles in any reader. I am very worried about the outcome of these sales, some of which were (are) on the Internet. Please contact the GAO to get more explicit facts if you can, they are at www.gao.gov and the number there is 202-512-3000. I hope this will be printed in your mailbag, so that more people are alerted to it. Thank goodness for your good work BuzzFlash - you are appreciated by most of us. Veronica E. Sissons Subj: CA Is this still America???????????? I cannot imagine what the voters of CA saw in this slime ball....I literally wretched when I heard the news last nite. I would not walk across the street to see him or any of his movies.....did you notice how he was promoted on tv...utterly disgusting. Now big headlines, "Bush says leaker may never be known." You bet your ass he will never be found with the way this investigation has been stonewalled by the bushies. Keep up the good work and thanks again for letting me vent some anger. suzy in tucson Subj: Issa Hello, It has been a while since I have emailed you, but I just cannot let this go by without saying something. It seems that now if you cannot get the courts to do what you want all you have to do is spend enough money go change the elected officials wherever you want. But this is not really why I feel the need to say something.....I just listened to an interview on Fox News (yes we get them over here in Germany too). Mr. Issa (Sp?), who started all of this, was being interviewed by a Fox reporter. I do not know who the reporter was. I also did not tape the interview, but I am sure you or someone you know can capture it. What he had to say was truly astonishing. If you leave out the names and party affiliations it would be one of the best ads the DNC could run next year. I cannot quote the comment, but here is pretty close to what he said.
The actual words were much more powerful, and I do not think he realizes exactly what he has said and what those words really mean taken in a national context. This guy is a Republican, and obviously an idiot. I think he was so busy gloating that he was not thinking. Please tell me that someone else will pick up on this and rub their (the Republicans) faces in it, if not now then surely next year! Tony Subj: Maria Shriver and Hillary Why did Hillary get so much flak for staying with her man, while Maria Shriver gets none? A BuzzFlash Reader Re: Lock up the "young" women Dear Buzz: Re your downlink to lock up the "young" women in Sacramento now that uber-idiot is Chief-in-Sleaze of the fifth largest economy in the world. The evidence indicates he is an equal opportunity groper. His targets seem to span all ages, shapes and size and geographies. Look at the bright side. Saturday Night Live scripts can write themselves. Our state flower is now a picture of his penis which he seems so proud to flaunt. Our motto is "and all that stuff" his most ubiquitous utterance. And of course it will be All Greed, All the Time! Kenny-Boy gets his $9 billion dollar payday, and Shrub's beady little eyes are aglow over our 54 electoral votes. To have lived in the most beautiful spots of California my whole life; Carmel, Santa Barbara, San Francisco...and see this great state devolved by a pig who says he'll use Dubya's Texas as a "model" is surreal. Its just nightmare after nightmare on Planet GOP. With half of the people cheering them on as if this is the greatest movie ever. Come to think of it...if you like Arnold's destructive lunkhead genre...I guess it is. Suzanne Subj: Moore Commentary Dear BuzzFlash: I just wanted to e-mail to let you know how much I enjoyed the Moore Commentary. I completely agree with it. I buy book premiums from you and hope to continue supporting BuzzFlash. It is a sad day in California today. You see, I was a social service practitioner for Children's Services in SoCal for seven years, and I feel as if the women, children, and families I helped were just slapped in the face. Mark my words, the budget for children's services will be cut if the budget falls under Republican control. Electing a Republican governor with ties to the Bush Administration yesterday was not moving the state in a positive direction. It is my understanding that Social Services had to struggle to give our selfless foster parents a cost-of-living adjustment this year due to national Republican leadership's reduction of the distribution to the states. Rest assured, I took the pledge and voted to retain Democratic leadership; however, my vote was not enough. I hope I can count on you to criticize any moves the state now makes to cut critical services for the poor and disadvantaged. Thanks for your good work, Dawn Brosius Subj: Arnold Dear Buzz, Long time reader, first time writer. I just had to write on some speculations I have made about the new governor of California. The Republicans have embraced Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of their own. He is an immigrant. He is a member of the Hollywood elite they have complained about for years. He is a member of the Kennedy clan that they have hated for years. He is pro gun control, pro choice on abortion, and pro gay rights. He has promised he won't cut education. He has Warren Buffet as an advisor, a Democrat who was against Bush's tax cuts. It looks to me that the only way the Republicans could win was to turn Democrat. Could this be a national trend? Probably not. Five years ago, the Republicans spent $60 million dollars of taxpayer money to find out Clinton received a consensual hummer, but this year they are one hundred percent behind a man who is an admitted groper and has naked pictures of himself all over the internet. Maybe the Republicans have mellowed? Probably not. The Republicans of California started this recall because they say Gray Davis caused massive deficits in their state. I wonder if any of them will remember this next November when it comes time to "recall" someone else. Probably not. Are these people willing to take a stand on issues instead of just voting for a person because he has the word "Republican" in front of his name just because they think he can win? Probably not. John J.
Ehrhart
Dear BuzzFlash, Goodbye, Gray Davis! Hello, offshore CA. drilling! Howdy, vital program removals! Welcome home, Enron! And hooray for the return of environmental abuses! How long will health care in CA. sustain a massacre? How long will CA. be able to keep an excellent educational system. No one can keep the goodies without raising taxes or axing the goodies. That is part of Accounting 101. George W. Bush will pow-wow with Schwarzenegger in a few days. I wonder what kind of "strateragies" will be discussed. Oh well, if Schwarzenegger doesn't work out, CA. voters can always recall him too. Easier said than done folks! It takes millions of dollars to get a recall petition going. Lucky for you guys, a millionaire republican shelled out the $$$ for you. Who among CA. voters will step forward with the necessary millions, that is, if Arnold hasn't made recalls illegal by then. CA. voters said they were tired of high unemployment, record deficit, high taxes and a (detached from the people) governor. I hope that these same voters will apply the same thinking to George W. Bush in 2004. All of the states are suffering as result of almost three years of George Bush. Take heed Georgie! Unemployment didn't stop at the CA. border. George Bush gave record tax breaks to the wealthy and threw a few hundred at the real taxpayers. Then his tax cuts were coupled with axing vital programs and passing them on to the states, including CA. Facilitating Homeland Security plan was handed off to the states, further strapping state economies. A detached governor? Hopefully CA voters will remember detached attitudes when Bush runs in 2004. When is the last time you saw an unscripted press conference from him? When was the last time you saw him talk to the ordinary Joes in this country? So what are the voters in CA. going to do when things are no better in their state and very possibly worse? Well, one would think that a good examination of conscience would tell them that they goofed up. When I goofed up in life, my father always said, "You made your bed. Now, lay in it!" Essentially, those wise words will now have to apply to the majority of unwise voters in CA. It's just a shame that those who voted against the recall will have to pay the price too. ~ Cathy Subj: An apology from a Californian Dear BuzzFlash readers, As a native Californian and current resident of Orange County, I want to apologize for the truly ugly actions of my neighbors. I would like to extend a special apology to the good people of San Francisco, Lord knows when it comes to times like this you put up with more than your fair share of heartache. Perhaps it’s all the sun we get out here in surf city that spoils our brains, I don’t know, someone might want to look into that. I often joke about my fellow Southern Californians being pee-brained, gas guzzling, Nazis, but it’s never easy to cope with when they prove me right. So, please someone get on that sun connection, perhaps there is some sort of powerful sun block that can be flown in before it’s too late. Anyhow, I’ll get straight to the point. I’m asking for the help of my fellow Americans, especially those of you in neighboring states and those of you Californians who have not lost your minds to help me cut the state of California away from the mainland and set it adrift in the sea. I won’t lie to you. This might not be easy. That’s why I can use all of the help I can get. And while I have some tools, shovels and what not to lend, there won’t be nearly enough for everyone, so I need to ask that you bring your own. Especially anyone owning bulldozers and the like. Getting time off work probably won’t be too much of a problem, as if you’re like me, you don’t have a job and can’t find one. And you Californians’who are working just remember you can join us after you are laid off. Once California is at safe distance, perhaps it can be used as some sort of penal colony. And if Arnold should manage to escape please send him back, and any other unsavory characters while you’re at it. I don’t what the shipping cost of a person is, especially a big one like Arnold but I’ll see to it that you are fully reimbursed for all expenses incurred. We will scrape the money together somehow. If you turn on the charm while you’re at the Post Office you might be able to get him sent Media Mail. Try convincing your postal clerk that he’s a Ted Nugent record and I believe it’s a flat $1.84, it works for me all the time. Anyway I’m getting way ahead of myself here. We still have a lot of digging to do. Sincerely, Jeff Hassett - Irvine, CA. [BuzzFlash Note: Late Comedian Bill Hicks, on a CD titled "Arizona Bay," discusses doing something similar by breaking California off at the San Andreas fault. Among his many reasons for doing so was that it's sunny every day in California. As a friend of ours often says, "Sunny every day is not weather -- it's a backdrop."] Subj: Yahoo! News Story - Rice Says Iraq Never Disarmed In all seriousness, these people are becoming unhinged.True, All politicians engage in spin. I think Condi and the other Bushitters, if trapped in the middle of tornado, would try to convince us that the weather was just lovely.
Tom Subj: Don't Talk Impeachment! Dear BuzzFlash, Perhaps one of the reasons no one is jumping on your impeachment bandwagon is they know that, to impeach Bush is to put Cheney in, and while Bush may only be Rove's puppet, Dick Cheney could be MUCH worse for the United States! And if you look at the line of succession if you were able to impeach Bush AND Cheney, we'd still be no better off than we are today. This country's best hope is to find a Democrat who the whole Democratic party can support wholeheartedly and do so. I wrote DNC this morning and suggested that if this California election did indeed send a message, it is this: The Democrats had better come together as a team and do whatever it takes to win in 2004 or we will have 4 more years of a George Bush presidency. If there is a lesson to be learned from this fiasco it should be that we have an illiterate country willing to be swayed by celebrity instead of substance. The Republicans know that and are using it to their advantage. If the Democrats don't learn how to play hardball and pretty quick, we'll have our heads handed to us on a platter in the 2004 presidential election. If this is to become a "war" between parties, the Democrats need to do what it takes to win it! Alan Charles Subj: Wolf BLITZER Is So Funny The morning after Ahhhnuld's assault on California began, Wolf's breathless topic was Maria SHRIVER's upcoming role. He reported that she wants to return to her network job as a journalist, but Wolf was SO worried over the question, "But CAN she be objective now?" Haha. In the world of "journalism," where the supposed reporters-----like Wolf, Ceci CONNOLY, Candy CROWLEY, the Faux Propaganda Network, not to mention partisan Republican operatives Chris MATTHEWS and G.E.RUSSERT---------have been routinely slanting their reportage towards the wingnut side since Campaign 2000 to date, why should Maria SHRIVER be set aside in a special category? She should be able to fit into this choice crew just FINE! Just last week, such sterling "reporters" as Rita COSBY and G.E.RUSSERT hammered Ambassador WILSON with the same question, certain to be independently each's own, "Are you a DEMOCRAT?" The rightwing media has officially replaced the question of the '50s, "Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?" with: "Are you a (shudder) DEMOCRAT?" John Garza Subj: Recall Why is it the Democrats that have to sit back and take this? I keep hearing reporters AND DEMOCRATS saying that they are against recalling Schwarzenegger, and that the "voters have spoken"…The voters have been duped. The voters have been misinformed. The voters are angry at Davis when they should reject everything Republican everywhere. The electrical crisis was caused by Enron and by BUSH's failure to act. Why? Because he lost California by a landslide and he didn't care enough about the people of California to act. Maybe in a second Recall those who voted for Ahnold before the sexual harassment charges were reported in the LA Times will get their votes cast. Maybe those with claims against Arnold will file suit and let the court systems handle the claims. Maybe investigators can look into these complaints and file formal charges where warranted. The Recall procedure is there. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Recall Arnold. Let's show them that Recalls are no good for ANYONE, not just Democratic governors, or we will be rolled over yet again. Marc L.

Sincerely, A BuzzFlash Reader in California Subj: The Votes Are In Hello. I'm just writing to say that I find it increasingly hard to feel for Americans (yes, I live in Canada) and all of the problems that they are currently facing when again and again, inept people in high places are given overwhelming support. Arnold for Governor? Sounds like a joke when first read. Too bad it's true and Californians voted for him in good numbers. I've seen now there's stuff on BuzzFlash that says that the media and all that ensues had a big influence on the way vote went down in Arnold's favor. For once, stop blaming everything else for everything, and face it that's it's your own fault. Can (at least Californians) see the difference between actor and politician? It's not hard. I like watching Arnold movies. But, I definitely would not vote him in for Governor. It's not just Arnold, now. Of course there's still W. I find it concerning that it takes a long rap sheep of negative actions by him and the others around him for the administration to start losing support from the nation. Think of all of the crap that W and all have done, and now people in America start recoiling their support for him. You can say again, it's the media, major figures, the all round misinformation, but all of that's to a point. America still loves W for killing Iraqis, lying to the screen - if you're a parent and you can tell when your child is lying, you can tell when W is too - and being that guy you wish was your uncle too. There is a lot of support against Bush in America. But, the support for him is high enough to counteract that. It seems to be that the majority of Americans just can't see the forest for the trees until the damn thing is on fire. Jason Subj: Cycle of Abuse I think it would be worthy at this time to give or do articles based on the cycle of abuse. Now that California has an abuser as Governor. I truly believe that people do not understand why the victims waited so long AND/OR why they were not heard in the first place. A sad sad time for California and America! Thank you, A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: Executive Privilege? Plame Flame Blame Name Game:
If it's premature why did Dubya's mouthpiece bring up the subject and begin to "talk about such a step"? "read my lips"? BuzzFlash Reader Dear Buzz, The most dangerous part of the CA recall outcome is that Arnuld the Groper has a mandate. A mandate for what? Nobody has the slightest idea, because Arnuld never said. Now Karl Rove and the Bushies can move right in and do whatever they please! How much do you wanna bet that their first efforts will be to tear the government of CA down. From the environmental laws all the way to their school systems. All under the cover of "blame it all on Gray Davis" of course! I can't wait to see the photo-ops of GW Bush and Arnie posing with little Latino children in school! Nancy Lynn Nagy (TN) Subj: Deja Vu All Over Again I can’t believe we all laughed at Baghdad Bob (or Comical Ali as I like to call him) telling unbelievable tales in the face of overwhelming evidence during the war but when the Bush administration does the same thing after the war he expects us to take him seriously. Larry Parker Subj: Just weird and desperate beyond being just plain weird, to see bush and his people who no longer have any credibility, even rumsfeld is calling rice a liar. to see these people pleading their case for the war in iraq five months after bush declared mission accomplished just makes them look desperate! stop digging! they should cut their losses and move on! they are just reminding us of how they fooled us then and are trying to fool us now! kate Subj: Audit A friend of mine is an RNC political operative and told me years ago that auditing the books was the best way to take political cheap shots because all budgets have all sorts of things in them that sound a little bit silly or unnecessary, whether they really are or not. It's a good way to make political hay, and also hurt the other side. So what's Arnold vowing to do as per his press conference this afternoon? Audit the books. Isn't it neat how Bush's deficit suddenly became Gray's? Remember Bush's hydrogen alternative energy plan? Looks like that pork barrel is going to be Kali-Forh-Nee-Ja's. Meanwhile, Ah-nold will surely make terrible appointments to the Coastal Commission and allow oil drilling offshore again. Head's up for the detail-oriented among you: keep an ear to the ground for news of Arnolds' next campaign filing report. I have a feeling only the cynical won't be surprised at the expenditure (it's costly, flying the whole goddamned press around in fully catered Gulfstream 3's) made to take California. Rosamond
Subject: Who would know to out Valerie Plame in the first place? Hey Buzz, Bush is again preparing us by lowering expectations. He claims his administration is too big and who knows who the Senior Administration officer is who could possibly leak such information. I'm surprised Condi isn't saying it since she's the usual one to say such nonsense as "who'd a possibly thunk it?" The fact is only a tiny handful of people could have possibly known she was an undercover CIA agent. The whole meaning of undercover means that almost no one knows! How hard can it be to CONNECT THE DOTS?? Well, Mr. non Prez, does this hint narrow it down a little for you? Judith Foster, Prepare yourselves for another round of pernicious propaganda unlike any seen for the last 60 years. The Bush administration has declared a "grass roots campaign" (a misnomer for war propaganda) for their aggression on Iraq. A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: mr. moore's article about Novak and Rove and CIA LEAK.... Give thanks to Mr. Moore...for speaking out and advising Mr. Novak to turn in the person responsible for the leak...this SHOULD COME BEFORE any other consideration that Mr. Novak is proposing to protect his sources...SECURITY and decency comes first...why Mr. Novak included Mrs. Wilson's name when he was told NOT TO......IS ALMOST BEYOND COMPREHENSION...I HOPE THAT MR. NOVAK EVENTUALLY GOES TO JAIL FOR THIS INCREDIBLE ACT OF TREASON AGAINST OUR SECURITY AND THE LIVES OF OTHER OPERATIVES AROUND THE WORLD. THANK YOU. J. ZARAGOZA Subj: Gov. Groper Buzz, This line from the New York Times' 'Last Piece of a Master Plan' article, says it all. "Mr. Schwarzenegger's handlers said that they would take him out of the public eye for a few days to allow accusations of sexual misconduct to cool." Geezzz. Well, all we can hope for is that the "accusations" don't "cool" and that they are pursued vigorously in the media, in court, so Arnold-SS's "handlers" have to "take him out of the public eye" for a long time. T Quigly Subj: Lights, Camera, Action Schwarzenegger Starts Preparing for His New Role, the Times says. Call in Industrial Light and Magic to make the deficit disappear. Is Rob Lowe going to write his script, or did he just play a speech writer on TV? No new taxes, sounds familiar. I think he must be going to have a get-out-the-tithe revival. It is amazing that Republicans think that cutting revenue will somehow create more money. They keep talking about recovery, but if this is recovery then we are still in the ICU. Well, Arnie got his Total Recall and he Terminated Davis with True Lies, but he won't be nominated for an Oscar for this one. This will take special effects that will boggle the mind. Karen Webb, Moore, Ok. Subj: Ahnolt Quote from 1990 Dear Buzzin' and Flashin'..................... As Governor Groepenbanger makes his way up to my city residence, Sacramento, I want to pass along a quote to BuzzFlash which, for all I know, might already be in your archive. From a 1990 U-S News interview, Governor Groepenbanger reportedly said, "My relationship to power and authority is that I'm for it. Ninety-five percent of the people in the world need to be told what to do and how to behave." The quote makes me think that what Jon Stewart reported on Comedy Central's "Daily Show" last night regarding Arhnolt's admitting that he had inappropriately touched Adolf Hitler, may have a element of truth in it. (By the way, please put an umlaut over the "a" in Groepenbanger. You can also spell it: Gropenbanger with an umlaut over the "o" AND the "a." Both are very In...in Vienna AND Crawford.) Please keep on with your buzzin' and flashin', ya hear? We're going to need you even more these next 13 months to fend off more DDI's......(Dumb Dubya Ideas). Gary Chew...just a few blocks from Gray Davis' former Sacramento residence. Subj: Worth Watching Michael Moore was on "THe View" today and the hosts did all that they could to attack and disparage him. Afterwards, Starr Jones said aloud. " I'll bet you they won't call us liberal anymore!" The media is a lost cause and America's in more trouble than we know folk. Meanwhile, thank God for the few congresspersons who man the "Iraq Watch" on CSpan. Last night while others watched the results of Californians marching lockstep with AHnold, several courageous congresspersons ( Sheila Jackson Lee was great) were calling out Bush & company. Rep. John Conyers even asked for Karl Rove to resign. Rather than the likes of Starr Jones and Barbra Walters, this is something worth viewing. Dee Turner Subj: NYT Link Thanks for NYT link on He/It's "Master Plan". MUSSST read, but pls. pls retitle it to the effect of "Master Plan" of sado-masochistic megalomaniac..... NEVER have I seen such in one article about US "political leader" ... "humiliation"... "power over people" (not govering 'cuz you have a vision of a society you'd like to help create)..."torture"... "pain"...... Very Scary Stuff. That's his world. That is what he values. Remember also Sadism & Hatred of women were defining characteristics of Nazis. (NO, I'm not saying they're going to cart Jews off tom. He's a proto-Nazi, the structure is there..... but history moves on...) I am however, saying that obviously his greatest self-realization would be to be Pres. & shred the Constitution... To be the 1st Am. Dictator would obviously be his greatest Orgasm, an apt. term since he lives entirely in the realm of the body. JJ Subj: Robert Novak Sirs: Could you please tell me how it is that the releasing, in print, the name of a CIA operative is not a crime if you are a newsman? What difference does it make where he got the information, Robert Novak knowingly released a government secret in time of war. Is that not the definition of treason? Respectfully, William O'Dell Subj: White House Begins New Effort to Build Iraq Support Not build Iraq, mind you - just public support for what they're doing. How stupid do they think we are? [LINK] Rosamond Subj: Other Poor States If GW Bush wants to give money to Schwarzenegger to pull California out of it's problems to try and ensure California for himself in 2004, then he should use his campaign money! SS Subj: Outrageous Comments by O'Reilly Hi BuzzFlash, Thanks for posting the comments by O'Reilly on "Fresh Air." You can do us all a real service by posting O'Reilly's email and phone number at FOX so we can bombard him, the network, and all sponsors with our comments. Also, there has not been any demand for O'Reilly to make good on his promise of March 18 to apologize to the nation "if we attacked Iraq and Saddam came up clean." Please check the Good Morning America transcript on 3/18 for his exact quote and contact that program to have O'Reilly return for a follow-up interview. Your readers will be glad to but pressure on Good Morning America-with calls, emails, boycott of all sponsors. Please let us know who to contact. Finally, how about a massive protest against NBC, the employer of both Maria Shriver and Jay Schwarzenegger Leno? Please send out the word to boycott The Tonight Show and all its sponsors and to demand that Shriver not return to her position as "news" anchor on NBC. I appreciate all your hard work. Thanks. Judy Munro-Leighton [BuzzFlash Note: We found one email address for Bill O'Reilly -- oreilly@foxnews.com.] Subj: Deception When I was a kid, to catch a lizard you had to use deception. With one hand, less threatening but much more active than the capture hand, you distract the weak minded creature, then snag him with the other. Rove does this well…it doesn’t bode well for the intelligence of the American people and the news media. Paul Subj: Fresh Air Good God, O'Reilly, can you be more of a candyass? Worse, a whiny, sulking little bully boy who couldn't stand up to...Terry Gross? Are you kidding? Terry Gross is about as hard-hitting of an interviewer as Richard Simmons. However, she is unfailingly polite and almost deferential to her guests. Yet you, you little pissant of a pundit, had to throw a tantrum on her show and stomp off like a kindergarten child who's broken all of his toys and is mad that someone doesn't give him theirs. So Terry Gross can't read if she disagrees with you? You have a problem with her reading a People Magazine review of your show? Then, after you stomped off, you bragged about how you enjoyed telling the woman off? And you post an edited transcript of the interview on your site that is crafted to make you look better than you came off? I hate this word, but it's the only word that adequately describes you. Pussy. Why don't you take on someone with some backbone? Too gutless? Too afraid that you can't take a dose of what you love to dish out? Come on, candyass. I'll do it myself, and I'm merely an average citizen with no national stature. I'd love to see how you stand up to someone who'll give as good as he gets. Maybe I can even give you a demonstration of how to keep your cool under fire. You already know how to throw a tantrum like a toddler denied his pacifier, but you need some exposure to people who know how to comport themselves. Unlike you, I won't act like a drunken barfly who thinks the other patrons are making fun of him. I have some dignity and restraint, O'Reilly, but I also have enough guts to stand up to your bullying. Additionally, I'm a knowledgeable liberal who thinks your little demigod, GW, ought to be charged with treason, impeached, tried in a court of law, and imprisoned for the rest of his natural life. Naturally you disagree. Think you're up for it, candyass? Just let me know by replying to this e-mail. But you won't. You're a candyass. I'll leave you to searching down an elementary school full of kids you can intimidate. Have fun, bullyboy. Max Black Subj: Bush the TRusty Pilot The line in an AP article from Scott Lindlaw has got to be seen, [LINK] "During the Vietnam era, Bush flew with the Texas Air National Guard." There is no mention he got this cushy position due to favors from then Senator Bush Sr. and friends to avoid any real military action and there is no mention he also went AWOL. John McGinn Subj: Just wanted to say thanks Hi, Just wanted to thank you for posting my blog on your site a couple of weeks ago. Peace A BuzzFlash Reader http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/1009/p01s01-uspo.html "...Yet analysts also warn that the wave of voter frustration that toppled Gov. Gray Davis was not so much partisan as anti-incumbent - a trend that is mirrored in low approval ratings of many other governors across the country, and which could ultimately threaten Mr. Bush as well. "The angry voter is back," says independent pollster John Zogby. "Angry voters were on sabbatical for almost a decade. Now they want results, they want a fix." Several Democratic presidential hopefuls have already begun casting the recall as a direct warning to Bush - an argument that is likely to be repeated as candidates gather for Thursday night's Arizona debate. Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, who has been running as an antiestablishment candidate, issued a statement blaming the recall and other problems of incumbent governors on the president's "ruinous" economic policies. "This recall was about the frustration so many people are feeling about the way things are going," he said, predicting, "next November, that anger might be directed at a different incumbent ... in the White House."..." Subj: Bill O'Reilly The antics of O'Reilly on Fresh Air should come as no surprise. For the past year or so, his entire program has become about defending himself. The man barely covers issues anymore, because he's always devoting his time trying to defend himself. It's sickening that anyone would pay credence to anything he says. Bruce Subj: Michael Moore on The View Yesterday In typical mainstream media fashion, the girls at The View yesterday tried to shout down Michael Moore during his segment to promote his new book, "Dude, Where's My Country?" Having seem the girls, a couple of whom claim to be liberal, allow the likes of Ann Coulter, author of "Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism", and Laura Ingraham, right wing radio host, demean and insult liberals with nary an objection, it was revealing to watch them all begin to sweat when Moore started telling the bitter truth about the Bush administration. And there was a new woman, auditioning for the show, who accused Moore of staging a scene in "Bowling For Columbine" for political purposes. It was the sequence where he went into a bank and was given a rifle for opening up an account with little or no background check. Moore strenuously objected to the accusation and the new woman with the help of the other hosts piled on and tried to shout him down. It was one of the ugliest scenes I've seen on a television show other than O'Reilly and some of the others at Faux News. I would encourage everyone who saw that sequence to contact Barbara Walters and the other hosts at The View and let them know that we are mad as hell and don't intend to take that kind of media bias anymore. The View can be found at The View Durnford King Subj: Remove Robert Novak Robert Novak’s 15 minutes are up! Why do the media continue to provide an outlet for Mr. Novak to peddle his story? Bob Novak was an errand boy who delivered a disgraceful and disturbing message. The Chicago-Sun Times and CNN should deliver a message to other journalists via the termination of Mr. Novak from public commentary. The message, if you promote treason and endanger lives of Americans we will not tolerate your misguided actions! Good day sir! It is one thing to protect your "journalists" and the names of their sources. It is decidedly something else, and it is truly irresponsible, for anyone to commit or condone, a needless act of treason and still claim safe harbor under that shield. There was absolutely no reason for Mr. Novak to print the name of Valerie Plame. There was absolutely no reason for him to continue the attack by printing the name of the cover firm she worked for. There is absolutely no reason for any media organization to continue to have him on staff and to allow him to say another word on the subject. This is not journalism, it is savagery, it is incompetence, it is offensive, and it is treasonous. It is time to put a gag order on Robert Novak. Mr. Novak appears to be the only pawn that agreed to play in the administration's game. I am astonished that any responsible news or media organization would continue to support someone who has so foolishly and needlessly endangered the very lives of Americans both here and abroad. The message should be sent loud and clear..."we protect our sources, but we dismiss for incompetence". Mr. Novak has been used, and I think his time has been used up. He should be silenced before he harms anyone else. Enough is enough! Barry Baker Subj: Lets all congratulate Bill for dropping to #2 behind Franken this week in NYT list Here's my email:
