Subj: Bev Harris's and Blackboxvoting's commendable work

Dear Buzz,

I have been so preoccupied by treasongate that I did not pay enough attention to Bev Harris's efforts to document the problems with electronic voting machines. This issue is SO important. Thank you and Ms. Harris for keeping it front and center.

BuzzFlash,

This fascinating study just released says 60% of Americans believed at least one of the following:

2) Saddam was involved with 9/11

3) People in foreign countries supported the war

9,611 people were asked

80% of those who watched FOX as their source believed one of these misconceptions, while only 23% of NPR listeners did

Subj: WMD, the U.N. and the Bush Administration

Hello,

I'm curious as to why the Bush administration has refused to allow U.N. weapons inspectors to resume their search for WMD in Iraq? David Kay has reported that no weapons have been found. He also indicated that the search is still under way and will take between six and nine months to complete. There is a rumor going around that the additional months of searching will cost somewhere around 600 million dollars. This seems like a great opportunity for the Bush administration to involve the U.N. in Iraq. They could send in U.N. weapons inspectors, have them search for the weapons and save the American taxpayers millions of dollars. Why aren't they doing this?

It's been a long time since I've heard the administration discuss U.N. weapons inspectors. Why are they so opposed to them? I think the topic is worth at least a couple of articles.

Thanks,

Mark B.

Subj: Let me ask this . . .

What if the "senior administration official" is Ashcroft? Why does the press assume that he is not a potential party/defendant in the investigation?

Ashcroft needs to step down now from this investigation, and an independent special prosecutor needs to appointed immediately.

Subj: Where WMD's are buried

It's official that no WMD have been uncovered in Iraq. Now as the Bush Administration goes into its usual soft shoe shuffle to distract the wayward attention of the US public, the opportunity arises for the mainstream media to stand up at last and speak the truth - as Helen Thomas has aptly put it - about the worst President in US history. It's time at last to pinpoint all the false statements and unproven allegations that led up to this most cynical, useless, arrogant, mindless, and perilous war in memory. As a small example, let us recall that Mr Bush insisted on the following two mutually contradictory statements: a) the UN inspectors have been in Iraq long enough and have had ample time to find Saddam's WMD; since they have failed, we must go in ourselves and do the job; and b) Saddam Hussein has refused to allow the UN inspectors into Iraq in the first place; therefore under UN resolutions we have the right and duty to invade and force him to comply. And here is the result of our invasion: with no regime left in Iraq to put obstacles in its way, the US inspection team has been less successful than the former UNSCOM teams in finding the weapons. That Mr Bush has been allowed to get away with his bald-faced prevarications for so long is a powerful indictment of the US media which gives the lie to its self-styled status as the world's "free" press and the 4th estate of the US Constitution. Rather, it is another "interest group" not much different than Energy or Timber which has allowed itself to be used for its own corporate interests. Is it too much of a conspiracy theory to suggest that there is something buried in the desert of the media's board rooms nearly as lethal to the Republic as Iraq's alleged WMD?

Subj: US soldiers come under attack more than 100

American soldiers come under attack more than 100 times a week across Iraq, the United States military says. Almost none of those attacks are ever thoroughly investigated, and only a few even reported in detail. American soldiers trade fire with their assailants, evacuate any American casualties, and move on.

Subj: More Money?

Hi Buzz,

So he now wants another $600,000 and 9 more months to search for those WMDs? I'm sorry George, but that $87,000,000 check I gave you really made a dent in my checking account. So I'm sorry Georgie, but no more money. If you want more money, go out and get a job.

[LINK] And BuzzFlash, this article by John Dean was fascinating to me - I never knew about the civil suit in Watergate. It's a great idea, especially since the "investigation" won't turn up much info being that it's John Asscroft in charge. I think this administration messed with the wrong people this time. I like this Wilson guy. He's not running away - in fact, he's charging at them. I think the civil suit is a good way to keep this thing on the front pages for a long time to come.

Thanks for all these great articles - a goldmine of information!

Subj: Treasongate

The Republicans and their whores in the media dubbed every little thing they could come up with during the Clinton administration with the "gate" name, and continued to refer to "Whitewatergate" and "travelgate," etc., even after it was established that no crimes had been committed.

Now it seems that one of the most serious crimes ever committed by an administration has occurred, a crime that makes Watergate seem like a joke in comparison. Let's work on getting the media to call this one "Treasongate."

That name will influence the American public's perception of these crimes, and make them realize just how serious were the actions of the top level Bushies responsible.

Subj: Deception in Titling

Richard Miniter was a phone-in interview guest last week on the Rochester, NY "Brother Wease" morning show on WCMF-FM (96.5) to promote his new book "Losing Bin Laden: How Bill Clinton's Failures Unleashed Global Terror."

During the interview, Miniter explained that his book wasn't intended to be a hatchet job on Clinton, and that he included quite a few examples of Clinton's successes in fighting terrorism.

When the host, Brother Wease, (browease@aol.com) asked him why he chose such a provocative title that gave the buyer the impression the book was totally anti-Clinton, Miniter said that his original title "Private War" was replaced by Regnery Press with the one it shipped with, hoping to coat-tail some of the other far-right books that were enjoying brisk sales.

He didn't say whether he heard any complaints from readers about the inclusion of segments that didn't make Clinton look bad.

Re: Marines sure they were friendly fire victims

This news story is not only horrifically sad, but it also contains two assertions about the Iraqi army that I hadn't heard.

Marines said they are certain it was a U.S. warplane -- the Iraqis did not fly a single combat mission during the war...

"There is nothing like an AAV," said Schielein, of Peoria, Illinois. "I mean, the biggest vehicle that the Iraqis even had was a pick-up truck with a machine gun in the back."

I do, however, remember hearing a news commentator last fall speculating on how ironic it would be if it turned out that Iraq actually did not have WMDs-- and therefore could not turn them in --but wasn't believed and got attacked anyway. I remember thinking that would be a bind of epic proportions.

Another bind that I never heard analyzed in the media involved the Iraqi military. The Bush administration went out of its way to repeatedly make the point that the soldiers were not really loyal to Saddam Hussein but had no choice but to fight because they or their families would be killed if they didn't. It seemed to be important that we not believe that any of them would voluntarily defend Saddam Hussein.

If Bush truly believed that, then it seems particularly cruel that he considered it a victory to kill these same men. This is not a decision that I'd want to celebrate with a photo op on an aircraft carrier.

Do the voters of California really want a governor that may be facing criminal charges and/or civil lawsuits over sexual harassment? Maybe Joe Wilson should run for office. He seems to be one of the few men in Wash DC with brains, balls and a moral compass. No wonder junior and pals had to threaten his wife's job and life in an attempt to shut him up.

Subj: this nearly made me pee my pants laughing

From this article, "Leak of Agent's Name Causes Exposure of CIA Front Firm" [LINK]

"White House employees received the e-mailed directive at 12:45 p.m., with an all-capitalized subject line saying, "Important Follow-Up Message From Counsel's Office." By 5 p.m. on Tuesday, employees must turn over copies of relevant electronic records, telephone records, message slips, phone logs, computer records, memos, and diaries and calendar entries.

The directive notes that lawyers in the counsel's office are attorneys for the president in his official capacity and that they cannot provide personal legal advice to employees.

For some officials, the task is a massive one. Some White House officials said they had numerous conversations with Wilson that had nothing to do with his wife, so the directive is seen as a heavy burden at a time when many of the president's aides already feel beleaguered."

Gee - what do they think the Clinton people felt like after 8 solid years of investigations - all of which were totally bogus.

Subj: Libby and Cheney...and Rove's Opportunity.

Dear BuzzFlash,

I agree with Salon's analysis. [LINK]

Over the past couple of days, I had come to my own conclusion that Cheney was more likely the source. Rove is too smart. Rice is a stupid, and a compliant stooge, but I'm sure she knew about the Federal law against outing CIA agents. Cheney, on the other hand, seems to be the person at the center of the whole Yellowcake affair, hence has a very personal interest in discrediting Wilson, not just a general, partisan one. Furthermore, because he is a fascist at heart, or perhaps he felt "rank of office" justified his breaking some rules, Cheney could rationalize leaking classified information. Remember, he leaked the " tubes" story to the NY Times.

Salon's article argues that Cheney's Chief of Staff did the deed, and that makes sense to me. When I was once a chief of staff for a corporate VP, practically all I did was the VP's dirty work.

The practical effect of all of this is that they can probably just ditch Libby and be done with the scandal. Questions will remain about Cheney, but who really wants to get into another impeachment? Cheney will announce that he is not going to run again, and Bush remains relatively undamaged by this particular incident.

But if I were Karl Rove, I would strongly consider loading ALL of the mistakes of the Iraq affair onto Cheney's office and having him resign now, for "health reasons." Rove could let it be known that Cheney spent too much time holed up in his undisclosed location and nobody had noticed that he had gone over the edge and started hallucinating. Who could blame George Bush for believing his own Vice President? The gullible right wing will buy that.

Subj: Limbaugh's Latest

From a paper in Utah:

Wednesday morning, as the McNabb matter was boiling over, Limbaugh played a spot on his radio show about the Democratic Party candidates for the presidency. The satire carried a rather juvenile take on the "Gone With the Wind" film with each candidate portrayed as one of the movie's characters.

When it came to Carol Moseley Braun, a black woman seeking her party's nomination, the voice caricature was that of the Butterfly McQueen character Prissy. Her line? "I don't know nuthin' 'bout runnin' fo' president."

Moseley Braun has served in the U.S. Senate, where she was a member of the Financial, Banking and Judiciary Committee. She was the U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand and is a former college professor. Limbaugh could have challenged her politics, but chose an ugly racial slap instead.

Subj: Job loss and the armed services recruiting situation

You might want to consider the relationship between the amount of jobs lost in this country and the influx of large numbers of young people joining the armed forces. Saw two separate stories on the subject of jobs and the number of unemployed young people choosing the armed services as their career. CBS did not relate these stories, but I looked at it and felt that the joblessness in this country is deliberate, in order to supply our ever growing defense forces. If these young people have no alternative they are forced to join the services in order to live. One of your reporters might like to study this subject for more details.

Subj: Novak and Rush and trial lawyers

BuzzFlash,

First of all you deserve some kind of medal for your service to truth and democracy at a time when so many have failed so miserably. Thanks.

Second, since Bob Novak and Rush Limbaugh have gotten themselves lawyers -yes that sub-category of lawyers that have become the whipping boys and girls of the wing-nut right, trial lawyers- perhaps you could find and begin posting some of Novak's and Limbaugh's choice comments about this breed of litigators for whom they have such contempt- until they need one that is.

Subj: "Limbaugh won't likely be charged"

On page 11 of the Los Angeles Daily News this morning, October 4, I saw the headline referenced in the above subject line.

It seems that prosecutors in FLORIDA, where Rush lives in a $24 million mansion on Palm Beach, don't want to waste money going after "low-level" drug users (his accusers claim they provided up to $8000 worth of drugs at a time over a five year period). In fact, Limbaugh will not even be questioned by law enforcement officials, but prosecutors invite him to make a statement.

Is anything OK as long as you support the fascist Bush administration and live in Florida where the pResident's brother can fix any problem you might encounter? And Rush gets this pass with no sense of irony whatsoever.

Too bad Tommy Chong didn't have an 'in' with the Evil Empire that is this administration, but then, everybody knows that pipes and rolling papers pose a terrific threat.

I am more insulted every day.

Subj: Dubya's Love Poem, oh my god.

Here it is the poem from Dubya to his "lump". How romantic, softer, gentler and compassionately Christian, which means not sexy? At least he didn't call her his frump in bed. He should get one of those librarian dolls and sleep with it while Laura globe-trots, begging the world to forgive the dimwit she married.

He can't be worried with meter, he has WMDs to find. He has to find money to pay people to find them and it will take away from his campaign money collecting. She actually read this to an audience and they showed a clip of her reading the last two lines on the Today Show.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Oh my, lump in the bed
How I've missed you.
Roses are redder
Bluer am I
Seeing you kissed by that charming French guy.
The dogs and the cat, they missed you too
Barney's still mad you dropped him, he ate your shoe
The distance, my dear, has been such a barrier
Next time you want an adventure, just land on a carrier.

Shouldn't that be "charming Freedom guy"? He could have called him a French fry. I guess Laura is putting her lumpiness forward and literally kissing up to the French. Dr. Doolittle Bush is talking to the animals and they all miss Laura. I would too if I had to put up with Dubya, the melancholy wuss.

I thought he dropped Barney? Distance makes the heart grow fonder or makes the lump lover dopier. What will the banner say when she lands on her carrier? "The Lump Has Landed?" Then she would only have to travel 30 miles off San Diego and he could meet her at the dock and she could get a kiss from her charming bluer than blue am I, blue blooded Shakespeare In Luv.

Now we know why Dubya refused to have an inaugural poem.

Dubya is his own poet,
He does know it,
His feet show it,
There no longer walking on water.

Everyone is worried about the delay built into the Justice Dept order to the White House to produce records. I'm more worried about the time between July 14 and now. Subj: Arnold Quote

Hi,

I just came across an interesting interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger from the June 1982 issue of Martial Arts Movies. I wanted to share it with some others who might appreciate it. I especially refer you to the last few sentences:

MAM: What was your first reaction to the role of Conan?

Schwarzenegger: I liked the role of Conan from the beginning: I want to be bigger than life like a hero. I want to be something children can look up to. Conan reminded me of the heroes I had often heard about as a child in my home country, Austria. Conan is like Sigurd and Bodo (heroes of the Nibelungenlied). These heroes had no morals or religion. They just killed. Their needs were simple too. It was a particular kind of attitude they cultivated that appealed to me. (Emphasis added)

I looked up Sigurd and that character looks like a variant of Siegfried from the Nibelungen lied, but I couldn't find any "Bodo" in that story or any other Western mythology when I did a search in google.

Just one more look inside "the governator."

Thanks,

Hello BF editors,

I've been reading your newsite for about a month now and I think it's great. I'm currently watching "The Capital Gang" (10/4/2003) and the panelists were having discussion dealing with the whole CIA leak investigation. At one point in the discussion one of the panelists referred to Wesley Clark and his supposed phones calls to the white house and how phone records could be checked to validate this claim. Novak then asks the question: "Have phone records shown that Karl Rove contacted other reports?" Now, I may simply be reading more into this than is there but I think this was a slip.

Keep up the good work.

Just in case you or your readers are interested;

In the state of Florida the penalties for possessing certain drugs are based solely on the actual gram (or kilogram) weight of those drugs.

OxyContin (oxycodone) is one of those drugs and is listed as a Schedule II narcotic.

Mr. Limbaugh is alleged to have possessed as many as 1000 tablets of OxyContin (oxycodone) on several occasions. OxyContin is manufactured in 10 mg 20 mg 40 mg 80 mg and 160 mg tablets. One thousand tablets, at the smallest 10 mg dosage, would contain 10 grams of oxycodone. One thousand tablets, at the greatest 160 mg dosage, would yield 160 grams of oxycodone. Either amount would make Mr. Limbaugh subject to the Florida State statutes regarding “Trafficking in illegal drugs.”

Please note that the below statutes do not contain any provisions for personal use and that there are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of people incarcerated in Florida prisons for the exact same offense(s) that Mr. Limbaugh is alleged to have committed.

Florida Statutes
893.135 Trafficking; mandatory sentences;
(c)1. Any person who knowingly sells, purchases, manufactures, delivers, or brings into this state, or who is knowingly in actual or constructive possession of, 4 grams or more of oxycodone, or 4 grams or more of any mixture containing any such substance, but less than 30 kilograms of such substance or mixture, commits a felony of the first degree, which felony shall be known as "trafficking in illegal drugs," punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. If the quantity involved:
a. Is 4 grams or more, but less than 14 grams, such person shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 3 years, and the defendant shall be ordered to pay a fine of $50,000.
b. Is 14 grams or more, but less than 28 grams, such person shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 15 years, and the defendant shall be ordered to pay a fine of $100,000.
c. Is 28 grams or more, but less than 30 kilograms, such person shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 25 calendar years and pay a fine of $500,000.

Sorry for the length of this post, but let's all understand what we're talking about here. Rush SHOULD be facing a term of 3-to-25 years in prison.

Subj: Houston Oilmen Interview

Yo Buzz,

About the "Oilman"('s) views on Iraq [LINK]...

If I understand correctly, this guy says that:

The U. S. will receive no benefit or relief from the great expenditure of rebuilding Iraq - but he will, that Halliburton has already billed for $1.39 billion

that by keeping gas prices low in Iraq (8¢/gallon) we have created a highly motivated international black market in petroleum, in an otherwise unemployed and desperate nation

that we can taper off the low prices no faster than over the course of 10 years.

that the U. S. taxpayer must finance all of this (including the difference between the real price of gas and 8¢/gallon!)

and that the reason we have to create and nourish this growing international criminal network for ten years, and subsidize gas so much and so long is so that oil prices won't go down, in the western world

further, that we have created strong black market driven motivation to keep people blowing up pipelines,

and that our defense against pipelines blowing up is to learn to fix them faster.

Does anyone else see problems, shortcomings and strong patterns in this oilman's analysis?

I don't put the blame fully on Bush's head, although he allowed himself to be manipulated. I put the blame on Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Pearle, etc., who'd put together a plan in the 90's for American corporate imperialism and arranged to have a puppet like George W. Bush elected to enact that plan.

I am not a conspiracy theorist. I think the facts speak for themselves. The Supreme Court, with a conservative majority, put this president in place, while the majority of Americans chose his Democratic opponent, Al Gore. (Rationalize all you want, but the American people wanted Al Gore over G.W. Bush.) The current Supreme Court, with their extended history of voting in favor of States rights, reversed themselves and voted against the Florida Supreme Court, who'd ordered a state wide recount. The public out here isn't stupid, but I think they were so stunned by the Supreme Court's decision that they didn't know what action to take.

Since his appointment to the Presidency and after losing the popular vote in this country by half a million votes, Bush and his cohorts pushed through the most right wing conservative agenda imaginable. And none of you in Congress and the Senate fought back--neither you nor the Democrats. You left the American populace--the majority who'd voted for Gore--infuriated and frustrated. Since Bush lost the popular vote, the public expected him to take the middle road, which obviously he didn't. And the American media betrayed us here as well by cow-towing up to the new administration and never looking into their flaws.

This Bush administration has, through unnecessary tax cuts to the wealthiest, now led this country into debt, is rapidly trying to destroy our environmental protections, is starving social programs and education, is destroying our Constitutionally given civil rights through the Patriot Act, and, through lies and exaggerations has led us into a war that was unnecessary for our national security, but sure helped Bush's oil and corporate friends in getting their hands on Iraqi oil and Middle East control.

Are you embarrassed yet? Or are you still counting the dollars the energy lobbyists have put into your campaigns and pockets?

Don't either of you come back with a mamby-pamby letter describing the few good things you've done. Unless you fight the current right wing trends in your Party and start acknowledging the Bush Administrations' horrible flaws, you are both failures to your country's democracy. And I'm not just sending this message to you--I'm broadcasting it.

Sincerely,

Jo Ann Simon

Subj: Traitors in the White House

Dear BuzzFlash,

To all those folks who were called "unpatriotic" for questioning Bush's war on Iraq and the motives of his administration, I have this to say - the real unpatriotic lot is in the white house. They are a bunch of traitors who will give up a valuable CIA employee just to be vindictive. What kind of administration does Bush have over there? By now, everyone in the white house must be aware who these leakers are, and yet it seems that Bush is incompetent in naming these "insidious traitors" and holding them accountable. I hope we never, ever, have another Bush in the white house, they have been nothing but disasters for this country, always leaving behind a big mess and many people poorer. It's time the American people wised up to the Bush's. They are totally detached from reality, and have no inkling to what the majority of american's need, and I don't think they care. Their only aim is to service the wealthy.

Subj: The Gropernator Blames Everyone Else

Dear BuzzFlash

The Gropernator has admitted to groping women and still blames the democrats for trash politics? What kind of logic is that? He is a typical republican. He messes up, and is indignant when that is brought into the limelight. He has to take full responsibility for his past misdeeds and not try to shift the focus by blaming others. I cannot understand how the folks who support him can continue to do so after all these allegations have surfaced. I am appalled at his behavior, and the way he has treated women. I had serious misgivings about George Bush before the 2000 elections, and I was right. I now have those same feelings about the Gropernator. He is wrong for California, and will make things worse for the people there. Lets pray that sanity prevails before the folk in California vote on Tuesday.

Subj: Stats

Hey Buzz:

Just pulled this from a Reuters news story by Steve Holland [LINK]:

"Bush's popularity among Americans -- which skyrocketed after his handling of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks -- remains reasonably high, but it has slipped to pre-Sept. 11 levels in recent weeks."

"Reasonably high"? I'm curious, can anyone tell us what the average approval rating is for presidents during their tenures in office? I suspect there will always be Americans who say they approve of the president simply because they unquestioningly believe that is the patriotic thing to do. They may not be planning to vote for Bush again, but, as long as he's there, they'll support him simply because he occupies the White House. Given that, is c. 50 percent approval really "reasonably high"? What about the nearly 50 percent of Americans who outspokenly declare they disapprove of Bush? Across the board, that number is now the *highest* it's been since Bush became president. Yet journalists, for the most part, ignore that fact.

Subj: A way to get the media to pay more attention to CIA story!

Dear Buzz,

In turning on the morning news this Sunday, barf bag in hand, I searched and searched for stories about the CIA leak and found nothing. Giving up I decided to surf the net and found this article at CommonDreams.org. Bill C. Davis puts a different twist on the motives of the media and a way that we can get the media to pay more attention to the CIA story that the Bush White House spin is desperately attempting to keep the lid on!

Davis convincingly suggests that we tune in, call in, click on and participate in stories such as the CIA leak. This will show the money greedy media that this story attracts readers and as a result the media and their sponsors will see dollar signs and propagate the story further.

All I have been seeing on the television news and the web news sites are stories about Arnhuld's groping escapades. Is it possible for you to leave The Groper behind and post mostly stories about the CIA leak and make them your top headlines so that we, your humble readers, will click on those stories by the thousands??? Maybe the greedy news media will get the message!

Read Davis' argument below:

http://www.commondreams.org/views03/1002-04.htm

" The more interest we display in the stories that expose the punitive and criminal subtext of this administration the more the stories will grow and the greater the chance that the barbarians will crack and be evicted. The media may be neither liberal nor conservative –it simply has to sell commercial space. If it knows it attracts an audience with this and other stories that expose the administration, they will press on. Tune in, click on, call in –even buy the product that is advertised after the story. Clinton’s story was juicy and many commercials were sold on the back of that tawdry tale, but still his approval ratings remained high and he stayed in power. This story needs conscious participation. Even if we say, “we know all this,”still –watch –let the media know we’re watching and we want to know every detail of the dark policies that are begging for light to be shined on them –we want the catharsis that reality TV can deliver –and they will deliver not only the catharsis but perhaps the resignations that will restore the government".

Paying for Sins Against the Father?
by Bill C. Davis

There have been theories floated that Bush Jr.’s obsession with invading Iraq had more to do with a mosaic of his father being tread on daily at the Al Rashid Hotel than it did with national security or even oil and contracts. Those theories help to complicate an already complex picture as the days and weeks go on and as lies not weapons are being uncovered.

Dear Buzz,

If it looks like Arnie will win, you should put out an all alert to interns in Sacramento to leave town ... don't walk, run!

Subj: Imminent Threat

The latest revisionist history spin from the right seems to be that the Cartel never used the phrase "imminent threat".

They did right here (from their own website); and it would be good to have a full list documenting all the references they made to this.

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, what we're focused on -- and, remember, it goes back to what the President said over the weekend. And this is about disarmament. This is about 12 years of deceiving and denying and cheating and retreating and playing hide-and-seek. And those games are over. And the President has made that very clear. And now this is an opportunity for the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations to show its relevance; 1441 is very clear in what it says. And Saddam Hussein has continued his defiance of the international community. And this is a moment for the Security Council to come together and show its relevance. And we will not put up with any more games of deception and any more games of hide-and-seek, as the President has made very clear.

QUESTION: What about NATO's role? Belgium now says it will veto any attempt to provide help to Turkey to defend itself. Is this something the administration can live with, or is it a major obstacle?

MR. McCLELLAN: Two points. We support the request under Article IV of Turkey. And I think it's important to note that the request from a country under Article IV that faces an imminent threat goes to the very core of the NATO alliance and its purpose.

QUESTION: What can you do about this veto threat?

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, again, I think what's important to remind NATO members, remind the international community is that this type of request under Article IV goes to the core of the NATO alliance.

QUESTION: Is this some kind of ultimate test of the alliance?

MR. McCLELLAN: This is about an imminent threat.

Subj: Winning Conan will be back for Rudy

Today's NY Post (Rupert Murdoch's tabloid version of FAUX-TV) has a story titled "WINNING CONAN WILL BE BACK FOR RUDY" (at: [LINK]) wherein the report that the Terminator will be doing a lot of campaigning for Rudy Giuliani in a race against Hillary Clinton.

Of course, this presupposes that Arnold will be elected Governor of California, and that Rudy will be drunk enough on self-promotion to believe he can take on Hillary.

But what a tag-team those 2 blowhards would be. BuzzFlash would need to set up an alternative site just to carry the news that pair of martinets would generate.

Rudy, once married to his cousin, later sleeping with an aide (Adultery), announced he would seek a divorce at a press conference without even informing his wife and finally marrying another woman, not the aide, he had used for many of his married months as a mistress (Adultery, the sequel!), will team with Arnold, who, at last count, had 16 women come forward with stories of sexual harassment.

All this from the Republican Party that was going to save the souls of all of us from a President who had an affair with a willing woman?

God save us all, but he'd better allocate a large portion of his time for some folks in those Red States!

jesus god! mathews just said on the don imus show while imitating a republican said and i quote "i don't like big government and these minorities!" then he quickly corrected himself and said 'well i didn't mean to say that about the minorities" no! he meant it! that's what they say in private!!!!!!!!

Subj: Recall...she call!

Dear Buzz:

I say let Arnold win. Then let a few of the women he humiliated press charges, complete with the video from the London incident with Ms. Richardson. Once he is found guilty of his crimes, then the people of California can actually go ahead and exercise a recall election as it was intended…removing a criminal from office!

I fail to understand how the GOP can continue to promote such hypocrisy!

Dear Buzz,

I cannot resist! U.S. News and World Report says that Cheney, "Keeps the TV news switched on all day, mostly watching Fox News." Well, polls show that Fox news watchers are the least well informed of all!!
