Subj: Bush's Speech

Dear BuzzFlash,

I see in his speech Bush called for a war on the sex trade. Is this so his brother, who admitted going over to Thailand and getting hookers, can get a nice cushy job as a presidential advisor?

re: 9/11 widow suing bushit and cohorts!

Buzz,

9/11 Widow Sues Bush

"A New Hampshire woman whose husband died in one of the planes that hit the World Trade Center sued Resident Bush and other government officials yesterday, contending their negligence of airport security resulted in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The wrongful death lawsuit by Ellen Mariani, whose husband, Louis Neil Mariani, was a passenger in the plane that hit the south tower, was described by her lawyer as part of her campaign to 'get to the truth of what happened on Sept. 11.' 'We just don't believe the federal government has been honest with us,' said Philip J. Berg, a Lafayette Hill lawyer, Democratic activist and former gubernatorial candidate... In addition to President Bush, Mariani's lawsuit also names Vice President Cheney, Attorney General John Ashcroft, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, the Department of Defense and the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Council on Foreign Relations."

Madonna and Brittneys' lip lock couldn't hold a candle to the lip lock Brit Hume placed on Dubyas' rear end. Of course it was all fair and balanced. Dubya kissed Faux News' butt and they kissed his. Don't you just love it?

Hey Buzz,

If you ever have the time to give out awards for some of the excellent writing on your site I hereby nominate Maureen Farrell for your equivalent of the Pulitzer. Her send up, or rather, dressing down, of that swaggering phony who poses in our White House was just brilliant.

George Junior, "Rummy," the Dick and all the rest, SEXY???? PUH-LEEEZ, gimme a break.

Give me true compassion, brilliant wit, brains and OK, a bit of brawn, and throw in some of that coolness factor (musicians are the coolest), and you've got the Real Package.

Oh wait...we had that once. Like that first boyfriend you'll never forget; the one who was funny, cute, played in the band, and was the head of the class.....Bill Clinton, Al Gore......they were a dream, not the nightmare we have now.

Re: George W. Kowalski? Bush's Macho Facade Goes Limp

BuzzFlash,

Maureen Farrell deserves a Pulitzer for the above article. The New York Times should have this on their Op/Ed page, right next to Paul Krugman and Maureen Dowd. The only thing she left out was a picture of the little twit as a cheerleader doing splits.

I watched that pathetic, warmed over rhetoric the smiling chimp delivered to the U.N. and I thought: man, you are worthless. It is your good fortune that you are in a room full of diplomats, else you would have been pelted with eggs and rotten fruit. And then he started talking about slavery and the evil sex trade, urging the world to shape up. There he was: the Preacher, the Sky Pilot.

After watching Kofi Anan and then Jacques Chirac, it was clear to me who the real men were.

Subj: How Bush "gets" the news

GWB's interview w/ Brit "Pretty Boy" Hume, Fox News Channel, 9/23/03

HUME: How do you get your news?

BUSH: I get briefed by Andy Card and Condi in the morning. They come in and tell me. In all due respect, you've got a beautiful face and everything.

I glance at the headlines just to kind of a flavor for what's moving. I rarely read the stories, and get briefed by people who are probably read the news themselves. But like Condoleezza, in her case, the national security adviser is getting her news directly from the participants on the world stage.

HUME: Has that been your practice since day one, or is that a practice that you've...

BUSH: Practice since day one.

HUME: Really?

BUSH: Yes. You know, look, I have great respect for the media. I mean, our society is a good, solid democracy because of a good, solid media. But I also understand that a lot of times there's opinions mixed in with news. And I...

HUME: I won't disagree with that, sir.

BUSH: I appreciate people's opinions, but I'm more interested in news. And the best way to get the news is from objective sources. And the most objective sources I have are people on my staff who tell me what's happening in the world.

HUME: Mr. President, thank you very much.

BUSH: Thank you, sir.

Subj: NBA Commissioner David Stern references Patriot Act

Dear BuzzFlash,

While I find the Kobe Bryant media circus-trial idiotic, I was amused by this telling comment from NBA Commissioner David Stern on whether Kobe should be allowed to play, given his legal troubles.

"Absolutely," Stern said. "We don't have a Patriot Act in the NBA. That means that you're innocent until proven guilty. If every time someone was accused and there were allegations, they were required to stop their life, that wouldn't be a good thing. That could be their choice, but they shouldn't be forced to [stop]." [LINK]

Even a corporate big-shot like Stern seems to think the Patriot Act is a bit, ahem, extreme. Perhaps there's hope, after all (but I doubt it).

Thanks for keeping me informed!

Subj: Bush's "Package"

Buzz,

So much attention has been given to Bush’s “package”accentuated by parachute straps on the “Mission Accomplished”photo-op on the USS Lincoln in May. Many have speculated that the bulge resulted from packing with socks or whatever. My guess is that there was considerable fear that frat boy would pee his pants during the carrier “trap”landing and there wouldn’t be time for him to change his soiled drawers before cameras began to click. So, a double layer of adult diapers and voila!

Dear BuzzFlash,

To the BuzzFlash reader who could not tell the difference between Tony Snow and Brit Hume...they are one and the same...just look a little different!..But, Tony is the one who trashed the Clintons after they left the White House and said that they had already trashed the place and then stole numerous things out of Air Force One.

Well, after another million dollar investigation...it was found that they took nothing from the White House or Air Force One. So, at last, Tony, making a joke out of it said, "Okay, Okay...so I was wrong...So, I am sorry!" With that stupid grin on his face, like he was once again, just making fun of the Clintons.

They, the Fox Network and their merry band of hooligans...all....will never give Clinton an even break...or any credit for anything that happened good during his administration....which, compared to this nutty bunch....is heaven on earth. We were not afraid to go out of our houses....there were jobs...the reason the crime rate was so low, was simply the Welfare to Work program, which gave poor americans their medicaid and food stamps, but they just had to work for it. And, everyone on this earth was just a little more civil, because they were not mad all the time.

The Dems now, are irate because no one...absolutely no one will call this idiotic administration to task...they get away with Murder..with a Capital M.

And, Clinton could not go out of his house...nor his wife, without them doing something criminal...ergo: The Arkansas Project...which our esteemed Solicitor General helped to frame...Lying through his teeth during his hearings! We let them get away with so much in those first weeks and months after 911, we will never come out of it!!!!!!!!!!!

I was appalled at the assassinations of the two Iraqis by our soldiers in Iraq...there will never be any truth told about it...also the drunk american soldiers who shot the endangered tiger....it is all so appalling...The disgust just goes on and on!

Now, so many people are losing jobs...family people...who voted for the jerk...they are mad and do not want to admit that it is his fault...Does anyone remember the many jobs lost in the first year after Reagan took office??? I sure do. Four family members lost much needed jobs...My brother with 3 kids, and a wife lost his...had to work in a feed store for minimum wage...they were poor at that time.

Then, my daughter in law, who had worked about a mile from home....lost her's.. it took her approximately 6 months to find another...had to drive about 20 miles to this one, a nephew worked (after college) with the Springfield, Mo. Airport as a trainee for Air Traffic Control Tower...lost his..and had to leave town...He went to Oka. City, Ok and lived with a sister...in the same year...he and his sister and her fiance were all killed in a car accident...

Republicans are just a horror!!! When Howard Dean says, if you care about your money, do not elect a Rebublican....he is telling the truth...they do not know how to manage money....especially ours!

I pray that God will protect the dems in this race...any one of them would be better than the little pinkie of George Bush!!!!

Shirley.......St. Louis

Subj: Thanks, Tom

Dear BuzzFlash,

Just have to 'edit' the following quote.

"Kennedy's brand of hate speech has become mainstream in the Democratic Party." ... "Senator Kennedy owes the president and the country an apology, but we know no apology will come." (Tom Delay)

Change Kennedy to Bush (twice), Democratic to Republican, scratch 'Senator' and 'the president and.'

"Bush's brand of hate speech has become mainstream in the Republican Party." ..." Bush owes the country an apology, but we know no apology will come."

Thanks for writing my editorial statement, Tom.

Subj: Bush Speech

Buzz,

I think the reason why Bush's UN speech had no contrition or acknowledgement of error on WMD was because the Bushistas have written off getting any money from the UN and will use the rejection as an excuse to continue to raid the US Treasury. He will say, "See, we tried but they stiffed us. So we need the full $87 billion. Pay up or the US will look foolish." But of course, he'll reject repealing the tax cuts for the upper 1% to pay the bill. What a mess we're in!

Subj: Arnold and the California Debates

Buzz,

Arnold just accused Cruz Bustamante of being a typical politician- he said that they go into schools and do the photo-ops and then never go back or do anything about the problems. Sounds like he has Bustamante confused with GWB to me. I am appalled yet not at all surprised over the rudeness that Arnold is showing in this so-called debate. He speaks over everyone and butts in and rarely does anyone else have the chance to finish a thought or a sentence. He is aggressive, rude and I guess, he has confused his Terminator character with that of his candidacy. How sad that someone of his utter lack of real competency can even be considered as a serious candidate says far too much sadly about the voters than it does the candidate. By the way, since he is so worried about jobs leaving the state then why doesn't someone ask why he chooses to make most of his movies in Canada.

Subj: accidentally caught this on tape...

September 23rd: I caught this bit on "Tough Crowd" on Comedy Central--the topic was "conspiracy theories" (I taped it and transcribed it later--I am fairly certain I got it verbatim):

RICHARD BELZER: "I want to know why the Bush family is so tight with the bin Laden family that it allowed them to be flown out of America on September 11th; why the Saudi Royals who were in America were allowed to get in big airliners and fly when everything was shut down and why does Colin Powell play stickball with Prince Banzar (sp?)."

Colin Quinn: "okay..."

Belzer: "It's true."

Subj: Computerized voting means Bush has already won in 2004

Hello, I'm a faithful reader of BuzzFlash.

And I know it's unlikely you will read this, but I need to vent to as many places as possible.

Due to the GOP's rush to replace all voting methods with computers that have no paper trail, democracy is over. Bush will win no matter how many more people vote for Clark or the Democratic candidate. He will pretend to be nervous about losing and make a mad rush to all the states for last minute votes, but you'll notice his face always showing a smug smile... he knows he'll win.

I've read several brief articles about the dangers of computerized voting, but no one seems to be willing to do much about it. Let's just all roll over and pretend that everything's really okay.

I'm so depressed and discouraged by it all and as much as I'd like to believe we could get Bush and Co. out of the White House, it doesn't seem likely with most states converting to computerized voting. And after Bush, here comes Jeb. God help us.

I live in Georgia and after what happened here in Nov. 2002, I may not even bother to vote in 2004. I'd rather put a mark on paper than touch another computer screen.

Sadly yours,

June Corley

Subj: W Is an Idiot, But You Knew That!!

Buzz,

I am a big David Letterman fan and for the past couple of months or more he has had a couple of great running gags on georgie boy. He doesn't alter anything to make it funny, it's just pure bush idiocy. The man is a gigantic fool. Sometimes Letterman runs the clip over a few times because he is so amused by bush's stupidity. Two recent favorites...bush walking across the White House lawn to board a helicopter or something. He turns to wave at the people behind him and as he is turning back to continue on, he hawks up a lugie and spits it on the lawn in full view of the camera. REAL CLASS!! In another he is explaining how he has improved bureaucratic cooperation, "We are getting better at this, the left hand now knows what the right hand is doing" he illustrates this by lifting his hands.... lifting his right hand when he says left hand and his left when he says right. THIS STOOGE IS OUR PRESIDENT!! They couldn't make up shit this good.

Subj: Powell's Lies

BuzzFlash,

Please please please keep this story front and center. This is the proof that we who were against this war have known all along. Iraq has NEVER been a threat to America; and especially after 12 years of UN sanctions. Senator Kennedy is 100% correct! This war was a fraud! It has damaged America's standing in the world (perhaps irrevocably) and has done NOTHING to enhance our security against terrorism. America has to know the truth...the national media won't tell it, so you must!!!!!!

Oh, by the way, one thing I am sick and tired of is Sean Hannity claiming that the American military victory is "one of the greatest military victories ever". Sheeesh..this guy must think that a 250 pound heavyweight champ beating up a third grader would be a great victory too.

Keep up the GREAT work, but do not let this one rest!!!!!!!

Bush: 'I Don't Read Newspapers'

President Bush says his primary news sources are his aides.

The president says he scans headlines -- but admits to rarely reading the stories. Mr. Bush told Fox Television he feels he gets the most objective information from his own staff. As for the upcoming presidential election, the president says he's paying no attention to the ten Democrats trying to unseat him. On the topic of Iraq, Mr. Bush says progress is good -- and he insists he did not underestimate the post-war violence.

http://www.kyw1060.com/news_story_detail.cfm?newsitemid=32219

My comments back to him:

(Name of Reporter), sometimes or I take that back all of the time, I feel that Bush is living in the ozone layer. Then again, what ozone layer since he has turned back the environmental clock here. I watched very briefly his speech before the U.N. and I just had to stop the feed from C-SPAN. I was literally embarrassed.

I would say to him that the most objective viewpoints he can get are those being left behind because of his economic policies.

Yes, many are still talking about his speech and not in a positive light. I have even checked with what is posted on the news groups and not only the lists that I am on and people are befuddled, angry, embarrassed at that speech he gave.

You know, (Name of Reporter) had he come before us and the U.N. and cited that there were people suffering over there at the hands of Saddam and used only that argument to get us involved in that war, I think most could have supported him. But, when you put forth lies to get us there, that is where he was just plain wrong. You do not defend America using a lie or series of lies.

Sincerely,

Mary!

Subj: U.S. Abortion Policy Closes African Clinics

Folks, this is just another reason why we MUST DO EVERYTHING humanly possible to oust Bush come 2004. How DARE he dictate to the world his own personal feelings concerning abortion? How many thousands of people will lose their lives due to the closing of these clinics? Just how many more will die because of his blatant arrogance? It is no wonder why we are hated by so many world wide when it is our own actions that have gotten us to this point. But, here is a point I want to share with you. Will the terrorists that attack us use this situation to play upon the anger of these people to grow their numbers? I would hazard a guess that the answer is yes.

Mary!

U.S. Abortion Policy Closes African Clinics

(Snip)

(Reuters) - President Bush's anti-abortion policy has forced family planning clinics in poor countries to close, leaving some communities without any health care, according to a report issued Wednesday. Even faith-based clinics that promote abstinence -- in line with White House policy -- have had to close, according to organizers. Under the policy, known as the Mexico City rule by supporters and the Global Gag rule by opponents, foreign family planning agencies cannot receive U.S. funds if they provide abortion services or lobby to make or keep abortion legal in their own country. Subj: Bush the $87 Billion Dollar Man

BuzzFlash,

In response to President Bush asking for $87 billion more for the war in Iraq. Let's not forget the $79 billion that Congress already signed off on for Iraq. Add this to the economic state and he still thinks he can get re elected?

Sunday on Meet the Press, VP Cheney was asked with the economy that the Bush administration was left with in regards to where it stands now, how can they be reelected? Cheney did not seem to think getting re elected would be a problem. This country has lost millions of jobs since Bush took office. The Congressional Budget Office was saying that for fiscal year 2004 we would see a budget surplus of $387 billion dollars and now sees a $400 billion plus deficit. That's a swing of almost $800 billion dollars.

Does anyone else see this mess we are in?

The $87 billion is only the beginning of the bill that is coming. For the first time in years the Congress has had to lift the debt ceiling. Its looking more and more true that to live like a Republican we have to elect a Democrat President.

How can Bush look the American people in the eye and ask to be re elected? He is the first President to have an MBA, please don't give us another one. Bush must have gone to the Kenneth Lay school of business. If Bush was a CEO we would have seen him dragged off in handcuffs for destroying the fiscal stability of our country.

All common sense minded people should take a good hard look and ask ourselves that question that Reagan made popular, are we better off now than we were four years ago? Can we allow this fiscal recklessness to continue? Can our country afford four more years of George W. Bush?

Subj: So very pathetic!

Oh. My. God. I cannot believe the gall of Dan Bartlett [LINK] in trying to spin the idea that Bush never actually meant "mission accomplished." That's right, the Democrats made it all up. Forget that every aspect of that ridiculous chimp-in-a-flightsuit photo op was scripted well in advance (the ship even had to reverse course so the cameras wouldn't see San Diego in the background). Bartlett's claim that Bush's handlers weren't involved in placing that "Mission Accomplished" banner behind him sounds like something the Iraqi Minister of Information would say (what did the media start calling him? Comical Ali?).

If it wasn't so sad (for all of us), it would be funny.

Subj: Hot - Ahman al-Halabi's arrest

This is from my local paper, a hell of a catch I haven't seen mentioned anywhere! It's about the US airman charged with espionage. The original story came out on the same day as Bush's UN speech. He is quoting from a BBC News report.

"Mr Halabi faces more than 30 charges relating to espionage, aiding the enemy, disobeying orders, and making false official statements. Mr Halabi was arrested on 23 July but news of his detention only emerged this week. The BBC's David Bamford, in Washington, said defence officials would not say why they had kept the two arrests quiet."

July 23! They held this story for two months!

Subj: Homeless Inc.?

The NY Daily News story "Rising tide of homeless" (at LINK) points to a large rise in homelessness since the Bush economy got going. I'm confused? Why didn't the homeless just use their huge tax cut to get a place? Why didn't they grab one of those fleeing 3 million jobs that disappeared since Bush was appointed? Why aren't they taking advantage of all the Compassionate Conservative programs for the lesser of his people that Bush surely put into place before committing hundreds of Billion$ on an invasion of a nation that provided no threat to us. Maybe the homeless should devise an unworkable "Star Wars" missile defense system. Then Bush will throw Billion$ their way!

If the homeless truly want help, they need to incorporate as an energy company, pretend Cheney once worked for them and grant him a large retirement fund, apply for government contracts, and promise to send some of their profits back to the Republicans in the form of campaign contributions.
