++Voice Analysis

Dear BuzzFlash:

Have you noticed how Colin Powell's voice has changed since he became a born-again warmonger? It now has a hollow, husky quality -- like that of a hostage telling lies under extreme duress. Do you happen to known a voice stress analyst? An expert opinion on Powell's emotional condition could be very interesting at this point.

Re: Bush knows the window is closing. He's going to act now.

Dear BuzzFlash,

It may come as an awful shock to him, if the impeachment goes down, LOL he's an inbred mutt. The thing that I really detest is this spineless screwball not doing anything himself, someone has their hands up his back, pulling the strings.

At the city's high-tech end of the spectrum are the founders of the well- known Moveon.org, an Internet organization that can mobilize tens of thousands of people and millions of dollars almost overnight.

And then there's the no-tech but equally committed Julia Wildwood, a 56- year-old grandmother who left town in September -- on foot. By herself.

++Old Europe?

Dear BuzzFlash:

Where exactly does Mr. Rumsfeld think the ideas we cherish so dearly today came from, if not from old Europe? Does he have no appreciation for the Enlightenment? The French Revolution? Does he forget who aided the colonies? Why does the right always come off looking like the Ugly American? This rough-ridin' TV cowboy persona they've adopted - might makes right - makes the whole country look naive and shallow. There are some wonderful thinkers and good-hearted leaders in America. Can't Bush manage to put at least one on his team? Why does he seem to embrace ignorance?

++Bullies on the Playground

Dear BuzzFlash,

Bush is a bully. I am convinced that he always has been. He probably stole lunch money from littler kids even though he had plenty of money of his own. Now he wants to steal oil from the squirmy little brat on the playground named Saddam. Oh, but there is a bigger bully on the playground. Here comes Kim Jung Il of North Korea. He walks up and says he wants to attack Bully Bush preemptively, since Bush might attack him. He is using the same logic as Bully Bush, who is attacking Saddam. Are we going to let the Bully Bush incite Bully Kim to start WWIII, or are we going to tell him, "Listen to France, and triple the inspectors and make all of Iraq a no fly zone. The oil is not worth blowing up the whole world." Call or snail mail your senators and representatives at www.senate.gov (They don't read email) and www.house.gov (they don't read email) and tell them we DO NOT WANT THIS WAR.

++"Old Europe" is going to deem GW Bush as "irrelevant"!

Dear Buzz,

Recently George W. Bush warned the U N that if it does not act on his 1441 Resolution the way he dictates, the U N will deem itself "irrelevant".

But since Germany and France have hatched a growing popular plan to avert W.'s war and our NATO Allies have refused to comply with the bullying commands of our illegitimate Commander-in-Chief, it's now George Bush who better be careful--"Old Europe" is going to deem HIM irrelevant!

Dear BuzzFlash,

Your website is fantabulous!!!!!

You probably have the resources to obtain and publish photos of Papa Bush, Reagan, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell etc. with Saddam.... when they were all sooooo friendly in the not too distant past!!!! ...... How many Americans know of the tens of thousands of Iranians and Kurds killed by Saddam with chemical and biological weapons provided by Reagan and Papa Bush!!!!!

++Thanks

Dear BuzzFlash,

Since I've discovered BuzzFlash by accident, surfing the internet, I find your site most interesting and informative. Why is it that we do not read or hear much of what I read on BuzzFlash in the newspapers and TV? I'm sick and tired of hearing that the media is liberal-biased. So much of it is far right-biased. So, that's good to hear both sides. Have you noticed that in the context of debates such as on CNN's Crossfire the people on the right do a lot of interrupting and try to over-shout the opposite? Thanks for your work.

Dear BuzzFlash,

AT LAST! Thanks, BuzzFlash, for the BOYCOTT O'Reilly commentary!!

Its time for SO MANY Americans to get out of their "Timmy McVeigh-esque" stupor, and stop heeding the lies and call to hate of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and other sponsors of HATE RADIO.

And its time our over-paid Democratic "leaders" FINALLY took on the radical, reactionary right-wing HATE RADIO agenda HEAD ON! Ten years and counting (and 7 years since the OKC bombing), and NO heavyweight Democrats (besides the embattled William Jefferson Clinton) have tried to confront the lies and hate of Hate Radio.

As the BuzzFlash reader commentary "Daschle: Obstructionist" (of Democratic Party ideals) points out, what have the Democrats got for groveling before the Bush/Federalist Society/radical-right agenda? NOTHING but uncertain 2004 election prospects, despite the clear and unambiguous lies and economic destructions of the GOP "majority"!

Re: Fw: FASCINATING!!!!! Fr., Ger. planning to deploy peacekeepers to Iraq

Dear BuzzFlash,

>>This is an extremely interesting turn of events! If France and Germany could get enough UN member support to get the peacekeepers over there quickly, that would certainly throw a monkey wrench into the Bush war machine! Will it happen? <<

Even more important...If France and Germany could get STRONG support from Russia and China, it would certainly throw a monkey wrench into the Bush war machine.

While both nations have made noises that point in that direction; however, the noises are not yet loud enough and I suspect that Shrubites will do whatever it takes to keep 'em quiet.

++how will bush's lying, sycophantic press SPIN this? North Korea to "breakout" Nuke production Withheld since 1994

Dear BuzzFlash,

How will bush's lying, sycophantic press SPIN this?

North Korea to "breakout" nuke production WITHHELD since 1994. Of course, the Tolken-esque legion of Dark Lords - from "think tanks," the editorial pages of the wp, nyt, wsj, cnn, fox, washington times, national review, AD NASEUM, will once again propagate the LIE that "Clinton is at fault - it is all Clinton's 'treason'."

what a sad, pathetic fate for America to find itself in - THE nation at the very apex of history's wealth, knowledge, military and economic power, led by a cabal of chronic liars and character assassins, men who one moment sell millions in weapons to a murderous dictator, then moments later accuse the opposition of "TREASON" for doing one-tenth as much.

<< To Rumsfeld, it's not simply a matter of North Korea becoming a nuclear weapons state. The CIA (news - web sites) estimates that the communist-ruled country has had one or two nuclear weapons for nearly a decade. In his view the bigger danger is that, by cranking up a nuclear weapons production complex that had been IDLED UNDER THE U.N. SEAL SINCE 1994 , a cash-starved North Korea could produce enough nuclear materials to sell to terrorist states or terror networks who might make America a target. >>

(Oh, and if the Biblical commandment "thou shalt not bear false witness against they neighbor" has ANY relevance, then the above liars are SINNERS, as well.)

Rumsfeld Sees Rising Dangers in N. Korea

WASHINGTON - The official Bush administration view of North Korea (news - web sites)'s nuclear breakout is that, while troubling, it does not amount to a crisis. Yet that is exactly the word that comes to mind when Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld talks about its dangers.

To Rumsfeld, it's not simply a matter of North Korea becoming a nuclear weapons state. The CIA (news - web sites) estimates that the communist-ruled country has had one or two nuclear weapons for nearly a decade. ++World War III Commentary

Dear Buzz

Stephen V. Kane's guest commentary should be required reading by the entire Washington press corps and all mainstream media. He speaks Truth, soberly, simply and clearly,as the subject merits, and the end result is a heightened awareness of our mortality. The bush dictatorship machine holds humanity in its hands.

Or does it?

Perhaps WE hold Humanity in our hands.

Yesterday, 1500 hundred of us marched for peace in our small town of Petaluma, CA. It was an absolutely brilliant day, with a warm sun and blue, cloudless sky. Many young children in strollers, babies in backpacks, and beautiful families walked and talked and sang together as we made our way across town, over the freeway bridge and to the community center. Hundreds of cars passed us and honked their horns or gave the peace sign in support. Lynn Woolsey, our Congresswoman, spoke against the war, against nuclear weapons, and thanked us for our efforts.

My friend Louise and I went through the crowd, gathering signatures for our petition and Resolution in defense of civil rights that we are presenting to the City Council tonight. Every single person we spoke to was against the war, only for peace, only for the future of their children, their education, their health. No one wants our young people to kill Iraqi young people. Everyone signed the petition to preserve our Bill of Rights.

As I walked across town, I found myself praying constantly. God: thank You for this incredible day. But this day is too beautiful, these people too precious, the sun too warm, the trees too majestic, to have it all end in violence and murder. Please God! There is a mother just like me in Iraq, holding her children, praying to you, too. Please help her, help all of us, we ARE all One with You.

Is it too naive to believe in a miracle? NO; that is the definition of Faith.

People, please pray for Peace, and continue working for Peace in every small way that you can. Practice Peace in your Hearts and in your homes, with your families, friends, and neighbors. I don't mean to preach; but praying certainly wont hurt.

And Mr. Kane, I'm sure you wont be offended if I pray that your commentary will be proven wrong.

++Saturday Night Live, NBC

DEAR BuzzFlash,

Last Saturday night the T.V. show..SNL had a skit that was a real slap in the face to all of us demonstrating and marching against Bush's War.....It pictured the guest Mathew C, something or other (sorry I don't know his name), addressing War protesters in front of the statue of Lincoln, in D.C.......the handful of people were inarticulate, ADDLEBRAINED THROWBACKS TO THE 60'S......this was a DELIBERATE SLAP at the anti-war movement, and designed to show protesters as unenlightened LOSERS.....

The FACT that millions have marched seems to be lost on whoever wrote the sketch, or in fact the sketch was propaganda sent out to minimize the War Protest Movement.

What ever the motivation I wish you would look into this and ask people to reACT STRONGLY TO NBC'S ACTION in presenting this program....(the rest of the skits were also reflective of Right Wing Bias...to the extreme...) I have both written and called NBC to voice my dismay and ask for an apology.

But having marched that Cold,COLD DAY....I WAS PERTICULARLY OFFENDED AND DEEPLY HURT TO SEE PEACEFULL DEMONSTRATION DEPICTED THAT WAY, and it is time NBC learns that It CANNOT portray the PEACE MOVEMENT IN SUCH A DISRESPECTFULL WAY.

THANK YOU,

Donna Breckenridge, Milwaukee, Wi.

++The uniter not the divider

Dear BuzzFlash,

Our dear appointed president has split Europe, split NATO, split our country, split families, split all international treaties, split more and then sliced through all that we know to hold the world together. The problem for Bush is that it is split against him, by a margin that is not to be disputed. That is the problem in a democracy where people are use to speaking freely and prideful of their right to do so, not to be able to elect their president. It is dangerous. Bush wants desperately for his support to rise again like it did in that LaLa land of immediate post 9/11 and it will not happen. If he is stupid enough to drop bombs on Iraq with the weak case and weak support he has, then he is stupid enough to ruin our country. God help us all.

++George Bush's 'Good Cop': There are plenty of reasons not to trust Colin Powell.

Dear BuzzFlash,

George Bush's 'Good Cop'
There are plenty of reasons not to trust Colin Powell.

At one point, when Powell was in a command position, he was asked to investigate a substantial rumor that American GIs were indiscriminately killing Vietnamese civilians.

Powell's putrid "investigation" produced a don't-rock-the-boat report. There were no unnecessary civilian deaths, he reported, and our troops enjoyed friendly relations with the Vietnamese civilians.

Then My Lai exploded onto the public consciousness. My Lai, for those of you too young to remember, was a village attacked by American ground troops. There were no young men in the village -- just old people, women and children. They were not armed. Our guys killed them all, all 347 of them.

Greetings BuzzFlash,

Well, we all know that terror alerts serve many different purposes in this administration. Not only to deflect attention away from their daily outrages, but think what a good weapon it is against the anti-war movement. Would you put it past big city police departments and officials to deny permits for demonstrations due to the dangerous "orange alert"? I wouldn't.

++TERROR PREDICTION

Dear BuzzFlash,

Ridge is sounding the alert that the chance for terrorist attack has never been greater. OF COURSE NOT! Bush War and Oil Inc. will hammer on this...if not actually create an attack...because of the millions of citizens planning anti-war protests on 2/15-2/16. Can't have anti-war protestors out emphasizing the illegitimacy of their oil war.

Click Here: Check out "BBC NEWS | Programmes | Newsnight | Transcript of Blair's Iraq interview"

Dear BuzzFlash,

(Male 2):

"I would say to you Prime Minister that the war is to get rid of a despotic dictator who has no real democratic mandate, who's very destabilizing, who commits human rights violations. Is Mr. Bush next, Mr. Blair?"

This is an excerpt from a BBC interview, in which Blair fielded questions from the audience. Can you imagine Junior giving an interview with an audience that had not been hand-picked? Very good interview, with no holds barred. It is very telling, in that, there is no support for this war by the Brits. Someone even asks Blair about being "Bush's poodle".

++BuzzFlash supports free inquiry

Dear BuzzFlash:

The peace movement has been covered to some extent by the New York Times and other big papers, but America's hometown press, where most people get their day-to-day news, has grown deeply infected by market ideology. Perhaps I should say market idolatry. The values of the marketplace, I'm sad to say, now supercede civic values and dampen journalistic energy. Throw in lack of competition and you begin to see how the hometown press grew so soft and lazy.

You can find lots of entertainment in the papers, plenty of sports, local news, business and features about new gizmos, movies, books, and that sort of thing. That's all well and good - it's fun to read - but look what's missing: Serious coverage of the now-massive peace effort. Editors are pretending it's not there.

Those few reporters who have managed to get genuine peace stories in their hometown papers deserve a lot of credit. Too often the peace movement gets treated like a freak show - aging hippies talk about the old days while getting on the bus to the big protest.

Thank God for the Internet, and for the editors of BuzzFlash, Alternet and other sites that glean news from around the world and present it, warts and all. You provide a place where readers can find the other side of the story. I tell everybody I know to read your site.

I especially want to thank you for calling attention to the growing peace movement, and two sites - www.internationalanswer.org and www.unitedforpeace.org - where activists from across a wide spectrum are working to stop the oil war.

Like many readers, I may not agree with everything they say. But I respect these activists because they have done their homework. They can hold their own with anyone from the administration in debating the war, but they rarely get an equal chance to explain their views.

That's a shame because freedom depends on a news media that's willing to present the other side of the story, even if it makes people uncomfortable. As the history of this era is written, the successful efforts of the administration to manipulate public opinion will be studied. Your work in support of democratic values will be noticed and admired. Knowledge is power and you want everyone to have some.

Keep up the good work.

A loyal BuzzFlash reader.

++Wow!

Hey Buzz;

I just read, in absolute astonishment and amazement, the story you linked from the Sunday Herald about the Bush team's plan several years ago for Iraq and the rest of the world.

All I can say is WOW! People have been wanting a "smoking gun" in Iraq as justification for war and now I think I have read THE "smoking gun" against a war! I think this should be your headline story so more people read it and spread the word. I'm on a neighborhood chat list where we live here in Houston and I've just linked the article to every on the list. We've got to get more people to read this.

This nutcase administration is going to get us ALL killed if they keep on this track and God help us if he should get "reselected" in 2004.

Faithfully yours,

Faron

And this new terror alert is just days before the country's largest ever "before the war" war protest, and focuses on the dates of the protest? Are they trying to do two things at once; divert attention AND scare the protesters into staying home?

++Jim Moran's Town Meeting on C-SPAN

Dear Buzz,

I hope you saw the C-SPAN Town Meeting with Jim Moran's constituency in Alexandria, VA tonight. The podium included Cong. Moran, Victoria Clarke and some Marine General. The marine general shut up after a few words and let Victoria and Moran handle questions. Every questioner and every person asked very difficult hard-hitting, data-based questions. Victoria, used to the usually compliant whores, was at times speechless and near tears.

It was probably the best TV coverage of the average American citizen I have seen since Bush started his surge to go to war. At times I really thought Victoria was going to start crying, especially when people laughed and moaned at her. Cong. Moran, in a school-marmish way, reminded the people to behave - but the damage was done.

++ The "inspector cluseua"

Buzz,

You may have heard today's spin from the war criminals in the White House. How could you not? It was all over the news media, on "News Hour," and even falling from the lips of Colin Powell. The transparently coordinated insult was a reference (with characteristic arrogance) to the U.N. weapons inspectors as a bunch of inspector Cleausous. See e.g. -- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/2746641.stm

Wonder where that came from? None other than war criminal Ollie North, who in early December '02 referred to Hans Blix this way:

"Some have compared him to Inspector Cleusou in the old Pink Panther movies. But that's unfair -- to French cops."

Buzz: there are so many things in this mailbag, I will never get to them all..I am sure I will forget the most important!

#1: I knew if we gave Billy O, enough rope he would eventually hang himself...I think the time is near! Maybe I hope too much!

#2: There is a democratic candidate out there who remains the same, always, and I sincerely think (hope) he never sells out...He is Howard Dean. He is right, you can't vote for a resolution, then back away! You cannot straddle a fence in times like these Democrats need someone with a backbone! I keep going back to this one!!!

#3 Personally, I think Powell and Bush made jackasses out of themselves ratcheting up this bunch of crap. The pictures, were like a high school kid would make for a project, and they could never plan on getting a C minus! I see in Bush a man who does not know how to take rejection...since 9/11 everyone has given this dimwit what he wanted..they have taken Ari Fleischer's stupid advice and not questioned the president in a time of CRISIS!!!

#4 The brightest spot in this last week was seeing President Clinton on Larry King, not grilling him about his sex life, but being heaped with praise for what he had done and is continuing to do! With a pal from the African American community who was not afraid to say that he wished this man was still in the White house!! Amen, Brother!....

#5 Seeing Larry King rerun it for his weekend special! Great choice!!!

#6...I love the Wolf Blitzer poll, I am quite sure there are many more that none of us are privy to, and of course, we will never even see this one on the Wolf Blitzer show!

#7..Somehow, I have no idea how, some Clinton-hating, right wing, crazy has hacked into my e-mail address and we have been playing a game of oneupmanship for about a week. He writes of how awful Slick Willie is, and how much he is hated by the entire world, and how awful it is to not want to get Saddam out of power, he sort equates me with the "evil Clintons"...which he does not understand is a compliment!!! Well, I don't plan to block this idiot, because I think I am winning. With every letter he writes, he tries to change me!!! He said, of the Slick Willie that we all know and love, that he circumvented the law by lying under oath..which, in turn I asked what his beloved Dubya did when he lied about his drunk driving arrest..in which we all know that if he ever filled out any kind of legal document...HE LIED!!!

Jeez, do they not understand anything about the law. Then he told me to wake up and smell the coffee...look who I am taking up for ... Saddam is an evil man, who gassed the Kurds. And, I replied, that back in the first Gulf War, that was my main argument against going in then...we did nothing when he abused his own people, we didn't rise up until it involved the OIL!!! I have told him that with Clinton, they will always say, "It was not about the Sex, it was about the lie"...Just like they say "this is not about the oil." With Clinton, we all know it was about the SEX! Like this is most certainly about the OIL!!

Now, I am not a computer literate person, but this person gets so involved in his tirades, he misspells everything, rants and raves and calls the lefties everything under the sun, except names..he is afraid that I will find out how he hacked into my address. In fact, I did agree with him on one thing...and I think I may have turned him completely off...He called Geraldo Rivera a jerk who changed stations, and I had already been through that one...I think Geraldo is a jerk,too! May have confused the poor man until he had to back off and regroup!!!

Well, that is part of my take on this crazy up and down, red orange alert (to confuse all of us and take our minds off what is really happening) week!

What is scary, is what is really happening, that gets a pass because George has so much power, he can almost make anything to his liking! The look on his face this evening, the one and only time I saw him, was sort of "I am Pissed off at the entire world tonight, so I have to think of something!" The last time I saw him really happy, Jeez, help us....was right after the 911 disaster!!

Good week to all....Buzz, this was such a good mailbag..I do love them, and you!!

Shirley..........St.Louis

++Time To Take Our Country Back

Dear BuzzFlash,

Is it just me, or have the voters in this country lost their minds? Our "leaders" want a "war" we can't afford to pay for with these tax cuts for the rich. But it seems hardly anyone is doing anything about it. If you speak out against the "war", you're branded as "Un-American", "anti-country", or a "terrorist lover". But it seems hardly anyone is doing anything about it. The state of the union is worse than bad. But it seems hardly anyone is doing anything about it. The heart and soul of our social programs are being ripped out so the rich can get richer. But it seems hardly anyone is doing anything about it. The reason for the "war" seems to be more about oil and money, than keeping our country safe from more attacks. But it seems hardly anyone is doing anything about it. It looks like we've made the situation in Afghanistan worse, and let Bin Laden (remember him? the president appears to have forgot all about him) slip through our fingers. But it seems hardly anyone is doing anything about it. It has been said that if you repeat a lie often enough, it eventually becomes the truth. And the Bush Administration likes to repeat lies. How many times have we heard them say over the last few months that they know Saddam has weapons of mass destruction? How many times have they told us that they have hard evidence that he is hoarding these weapons, or building more? And how many times have we wondered why, if the administration has this hard evidence, aren't they just passing it along to the U.N. weapons inspectors so they can go find the buggers? The most likely reason is they're lying But it seems hardly anyone is doing anything about it. The GOPers spent well over 70 million dollars to prove that Clinton enjoyed oral sex, and like most married men, would lie to cover up about it. The GOPers even got impeachment proceedings started against him, but failed to get him out of office. Taking a 207 million dollar surplus and turning it into a 370 million dollar deficit, putting millions of people out of work, putting this country in danger of nuclear attack by North Korea, going to "war" for oil, all these seem much better reasons for impeaching a sitting president. But it seems no body wants to do anything about it. We are need to use the power of "recall" against them. They are there to serve OUR best interests, NOT the president's. It's not easy to do, but if they are doing things that are not in the best interest of the people who elected them, we can start proceedings to have them recalled. Basically, if they aren't getting the job done, we can fire them. If Bush and his cronies get us into a war the American people don't want, he needs to be impeached. If the congress won't do it, we get rid of them on the state level. All it would take is for one or two to go, and the rest would quickly fall into line. It's time we, the people, used our rights to take our country back, before we no longer have any rights at all.

Senator John F. Kerry blasts Bush over his environmental policies and record here at home, but supports Bush in a preemptive strike in Iraq that will kill thousands of innocent victims, along with the strong possibility of burning oil wells producing billowing clouds of black smoke, chemical weapons blowing in the prevailing desert winds and the unleashing of nuclear weapons not only in Iraq but anywhere around the world = R A D I A T I O N in our atmosphere!

++George W. Bush, the self-described Motherhugger?

Dear BuzzFlash,

I had heard reports that W had described his duties as including hugging the relatives of casualties of his policies, but this evening I heard it myself from his very own lips in the course of a press briefing with the Australian PM (and am I simply imagining that he was the subject of a no-confidence vote by one of his legislative bodies?).

Anyway, may I humbly suggest that, from his lips to ours, he be awarded the title of MOTHERHUGGER that he seems to covet. It would be a properly accurate and contemptuous epithet for banners -- as in "DUMP THE MOTHERHUGGER" -- in demonstrations and marches.

And it would be a much more accurate capsule description than, say, " COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVE."

Win MILLION$

New contest announced by President Bush

Submit your suggestions for ways to assault the lives of the elderly, the poor or America's veterans.

For every dollar you can defraud out of a retirement account, you get a dinner at Lutece, stock in an airline the taxpayer has bailed out with billion$ and a huge tax break.

For every bite of food you can take out of a hundred thousand elderly Americans, you get a dinner at the Four Seasons and a huge tax break.

For every US veteran you can find a way to deny entry into a VA hospital you get dinner at a local PX (hey, hurting veterans is easy, no politicians even acknowledge the cuts) and a huge tax break.

If you hit the trifecta and find a way to screw all 3 groups, you get a hedonistic party hosted by the Bush twins and your own Secret Service agent to get you out of jail, if need be.

Votes will be counted on the first night of our "Shock and Awe" campaign in which every civilian we kill will be hit again with a smart bomb that paints them with the announcement "I was a 'human shield' and my death should not be lamed on the 3,000 warheads the US fired in the first 48 hours of the 'war of liberation.' I am happy that I and my dead family are now all liberated from the bonds of earth!"

Renters Receiving U.S. Aid to Pay More Under Budget Proposal

By ROBERT PEAR

WASHINGTON, Feb. 10 —The Bush administration is proposing to increase rents charged to thousands of poor people who receive federal housing aid.

The increase would be accomplished by changing three little words in federal law. The minimum rent for tenants, which is "not more than $50" a month under current law, would have to be "at least $50" a month under President Bush's plan.

In budget documents sent to Congress last week, the administration said the proposal was "intended to promote work" by people who live in federally subsidized housing.

Some local authorities have a minimum rent of zero or $25 a month. Under Mr. Bush's proposal, they would have to charge $50 a month and could set the minimum much higher for some or all tenants.

Re: Are You Anti-American? Take This Quiz and Find Out!

Dear BuzzFlash,

They are now passing around a bill the is not to be released to the public under the guise of the homeland security act that will allow due process to be suspended, to have citizenship cancelled, to be held indefinitely in jail if you are found to be associated in any way to a terrorist organization (to be defined by the judicial branch), including contribution that went to terrorism with or without your knowledge of where they went. We are losing our country to the Nazi. There is a theory out that the terror warning we are under is a step towards this act.

The British are saying that we are a bigger threat to world peace than Iraq.

David

Dear BuzzFlash,

A friend from Malaysia sent this joke to me that is apparently making the rounds there:

European Reporter: "What proof do you have that Saddam has weapons of mass destruction?"

American Intelligence Officer: "We kept the receipts."

Re: Bush and his speech to religious broadcasters in Nashville

Dear BuzzFlash,

The above news story made me gag. (Not your fault, Mr. Bu$h's fault)

So.......who said the following words?

<<< If the positive element of Christianity is love of one's neighbor, that is, caring for the sick, clothing the poor, feeding the hungry and quenching the thirst of the parched, then we are true Christians!>>>

Almost sounds like Mr Bush's remarks, correct? Read on for the rest of the quotation:

<< For in these respects the people's community of National Socialist Germany has tremendous accomplishments to its credit"

****Adolf Hitler....Speech at Munich, February 24, 1939 >>>>>>>>>

++Anxiety Colors

Dear BuzzFlash,

As the US's anxiety level rises exponentially with the change of colors on the alert "under-roos anxiety" scale. I have to think, if changing a color code to orange makes us edgy, just imagine what every Iraqi mother and father is feeling each night as they tuck their children into bed knowing that at any second an American/Bush bomb could land on them. I doubt if they are considering Duct taping a room in their house. We forever hear that Saddam has killed his own people and now we're going to follow suit by killing even more of them. I wonder if the grief and pain and agony is any less or any worse depending on the origin of the cause of death. If they had a color alert code in Iraq, I wonder what color would be used for imminent death? How awful that it would most likely be red, white and blue!
