Buzz, Every time people come to Washington in the name of Peace, Dubya's handlers shuffle him away so he needn't be bothered by the niggling voices of American citizens he supposedly serves. Person after person interviewed at the Peace rallies said they had no faith that the hundreds of thousands who marched for Peace, would stop Dubya's obsessive march to war. Yet they came, they braved the cold, because they had to, because they knew, as Dr. Martin Luther King did, that Peace and Non-Violence, that joy and compassion for people of all nations, is essential to life on earth. "I refuse to accept the cynical notion that nation after nation must spiral down a militaristic stairway into the hell of thermonuclear destruction." Dr. Martin Luther King T Quigly Re: The Psychotic Hawks of the Bush Administration are a Threat to World Peace Other questions to posit before thoughtful people: 1. When will congress require disclosure to the American people, why the bin Laden family was whisked out of this country 2 or 3 days after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001? 2. What happened to the investigation of the Saudis who were providing financial support to al Qaeda? The fact that 16 of the 19 attackers were Saudis is just a coincidence, right? 3. What is the status of the anthrax killer investigation? Several people died from exposure to anthrax and two Democratic members of congress received mail laced with anthrax. Why isn't this being investigated more thoroughly and reported in the news? Neb Conner RE: A BuzzFlash Reader Has an Idea on How to Stop the Iraq Attack Right Quick Dear BuzzFlash and Linda Ward: Bravo!!! Perfect!!! What a hell of a statement you've made. Congratulations. Let's forward this to all the media outlets ... CNN ... MSNBC ... Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS. The truth will set us free. Terry Subj: Send a duplicate printout of your letters to the White House and the media. Dear BuzzFlash, All of your letters are right on target. How many more Americans are outraged and sending letters of dissent by email? We will never know because these emails are easily deleted. "What dissent?" asks the Media, "What dissent?" asks Bush INC. If those Americans printed out copies of their outraged emails, and actually mailed a copy of them to the White House, and the various news media, they would not be able to ignore THAT either. Thank you so much to all who demonstrated for peace and impeachment this weekend. What a terrific job you did! A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: Protesters Hey BuzzFlash Readers Of course the media is going to downplay the numbers of protesters in the US...remember, they are bought and paid for by the Bush cartel. What is important to keep in mind, and what the misadministration must know, is that for every ONE protester, there are 20 more who stayed home due to weather, age, infirmity or were out working their second or third job. Our numbers are vast, and growing. They've ceased to ignore us, belatedly, but soon, they will be forced to stop underestimating us. It's working....don't give up!!! Keep dissenting, keep writing, calling, marching and YELLING!!! Power to the Peaceful!!! elaine in Petaluma Worth noting: An Englishman named David Crease writing to the Times of London concerning John Le Carre's recent article pointed out the obvious solution. Sirs, he wrote, those people searching for empty warheads should first look in the Pentagon. Nice, isn't it. And you just might want to mention that ole' Rush today was practicaly apoplectic about the rallies over the weekend, calling those who participated "anti-American idiots," and "Communists" and, naturally, people who hate America. On WABC a caller decided that the only way to deal with these anti-war protestors was to get out there and show them what this country is all about. Basically, kill them all. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Dave Re: Energy Prices Dear BuzzFlash, I haven't seen this on your site (sorry if it was there and I missed it), but here's the smoking gun. Follow the money. Why is Dick Cheney so gol-durn secretive about his Energy Task Force? Why did Enron and co try to rip off California? Who is making money on the war on Iraq (which has nothing to do with the War on Terror and everying to do with oil)? Consumer
prices steady, energy costs up for 2002 Can you connect the dots? TTFN, Baron
Dave Romm Re: A BuzzFlash Reader Has an Idea on How to Stop the Iraq Attack Right Quick Dear BuzzFlash, I will believe that this war is about something other than oil and revenge when Jenna and Barbara Bush are drafted into the service of the United States. Connie Cole RE: Think About Bush's Diversionary Tactic Buzz, There is a danger in thinking that anything that the current regime is doing is diversionary. Everything that they do is dual purpose. It is diversionary, and they are also want to do it. Look at how fast they have piled on the crap: assaults on the environment, reproductive rights, affirmative action, tax law, international treaties, etc. There is no way anyone can keep track of everything that they are doing. No matter how much we try, they will get away with some or most of it. Cheers or not, Alan Hofwolt Re: The Bush Cartel is Shivering In Its Boots About John Edwards Dear BuzzFlash, Glad to hear John Edwards is a liberal. A liberal is someone who believes equal opportunity should be more than a slogan in America -- and votes for policies that would make equal opportunity more of a reality. Sen. John Edwards should be proud of the fact that he apparently supports liberal goals, achieved by pragmatic means -- in other words, measures that actually work to better the lives of most Americans. Sue Pastin Subj: Mailbag for 1/20/03 Hi BuzzFlash, I just thought of an idea that would drive the whororimedia and "BFEE" nuts. Ask the readers to post pictures of this last weekend anti-war protests on the web from every town across this nation an around the world! Since the whororimedia is not covering the Anti-War Protests, we need to take every picture to the web so that the world can see just how many human beings are aganist this grab for oil by the "BFEE" and company! I followed this link from your mail bag of 1/20/03, great pictures of the Anti-War Protest in San Fancisco. Lilah Wild did a great job of covering this event. My hat is off to her, thank you Lilah! http://www.chateaubizarre.com/ballroom/articles.php?intId=22 Sincerely, BuzzFlash reader in the bad lands of BFEE controlled Lewis county, Washington state - "AKA" Toledo! Dear Buzz, Peace or war in Iraq: a better solution for the same price. Preventing nuclear proliferation to Iraq and disposing of the brutal dictatorship there, is commendable. However, this can be achieved peacefully for the same expense as war. Washington estimates that war will cost $50 billion. The same $50 billion could be offered to his military, especially the 50,000 elite Republican Guards on whom his power rests, to sway their allegiance. With these funds, each Iraqi general and commanders of the elite units could be offered a million. Faced with the choice: die for Saddam or become a millionaire or - few would chose the former. Another part of the $50 billion could be offered for a development program for Iraq, to persuade the Iraqi public. This approach would save many American, British and Iraqi (and maybe Israeli and Saudi, etc) lives; gain friends for America, rather than enemies; and therefore help, rather than harm, the fight against terror. The aid program could be given through American companies so that the US economy would also benefit. There is a real choice, for the same cost, between peace and war. Let us hope for a wise decision. Sincerely yours Dr. Michael
N. Mautner [BuzzFlash Note: Of course, this method won't financially benefit friends and family of George W. Bush, and, therefore, will never see the light of day.] Subj: Left Radio Host has no fear BuzzFlash; People who talk about taking back the airways from the Limbos of the world have never checked out ABC KGO San Francisco commentator / talk show host Ray Taliafero. He broadcasts at AM 810, 1-5 am PST. At night the ionosphere bounces the strong signal so that he needs no syndication to reach a wide audience. He reads all his e-mails, some on the air, and the show is broadcast on the Internet! http://www.raytal.com/home.html petec Subj: Martin Luther King Jr. Day Dear Buzz, While thinking about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today, and the ultimate sacrifice he made to defend against injustice, racism and government repression, my musings brought me to the "usa patriot act," and how cynical and odious it is. As we know, USA PATRIOT Act is an acronym that stands for: Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism. As we also know, the "patriot act" really stands for injustice, racism, and government repression. We must not let Dr. King's sacrifice be in vain I've spent some time pondering my own acronym for the "usa patriot act," one that may be more descriptive of it's actual intent. I've come up with: The U.S.A PATRIOT ACT, an Unconstitutional Scheme Against Patriotic Americans To Repress, Imprison, Ostracize, Terrify And Censor Them. elaine in Petaluma [BuzzFlash Note: Bravo!] Subj: Do we need trial Lawyers.... Dear BuzzFlash, Check out this incredible story of Medical Malpractice... Also.. She gets her Breasts cut off and still throws a whack at Dubya.... I hope she gets a billion bucks.... Mastectomy
mistake patient: 'I was in shock' <Snip> COSTELLO: Before I talk to hospital officials -- do you plan to sue? MESSERLY: Absolutely. However, President Bush intends to add additional harm to Linda and other victims. I mean, 98,000 people per year die of medical malpractice, not to mention the hundreds of thousands that are injured, and the president wants to tell them, I don't care what you've been through, we're going to put a cap on your damages of $250,000. (Full story) COSTELLO: And of course, the reason he's doing that is because there are many frivolous lawsuits filed, and doctor's bills are getting ever more expensive. MESSERLY: But putting a cap on that will do nothing at all to reduce that, and California has proved that. They put a cap on years ago, and malpractice premiums have gone up and up and up until insurance reform came through. <Snip> A BuzzFlash Reader Subj: "If you really want war, you don't need evidence" by Jack Kenny Dear BuzzFlash, This column reminds me of this tv movie I saw, oh, a whole bunch of years ago. It was about the Salem witch trials and starred Vanessa Redgrave as one of three sisters famously persecuted as witches. It comes out that men who wanted to confiscate the property owned by unattached women set little girls to falsely accuse them of witchcraft. That may sound familiar with reference to the previous Gulf war, but the connection to Kenny's point occurred to me because there's a part of the movie wherein a nude woman is inspected by other women for any blemishes or birthmarks, which would prove her to be a witch. The inspectors are in turn supervised by a man who assures them (not exact quote) "If you find no marks, that will constitute proof as well." Thanks for BUZZFLASH Cory Hinman |
