If you wondered what the snake looked like who whispered into Eve's ear in the Garden of Eden, just go to Tom DeLay's website and take a look at the man's photo. The congressman from Sugarland, Texas also is behind the hissing sound that reverberates through the halls of Congress, where a slithering DeLay wakes up a hypocrite, spends the day a hypocrite, and goes to sleep a hypocrite.
The man who decries "moral relativism" is the living embodiment of moral relativism, if you count being immoral as relative.
This past week, Tom DeLay, the toxic exterminator, outdid himself in breaking down the Constitutional barriers of government. He claimed to be championing the life of a Florida woman who has been in a vegetative state for 15 years.
But, make no mistake about it, Terry Schiavo was just a prop in DeLay's increasingly frantic and dangerously reckless bid to hold onto power.
With violations of the law and his brazenly unethical behavior nipping at his heals, even some Stepford Republican loyalists started betting on when DeLay would be indicted.
So the Dioxin-brained GOP House Minority Leader -- and de facto Republican Mafia Don -- needed a diversion -- and he needed it quick.
And what could be more perfect than a woman who was only alive in the dreams of her parents, who themselves were supported by anti-abortion activists in their quest to defy Florida law?
It's always a no-win situation with DeLay: If you weren't with him -- in his opportunistic quest to nearly destroy our system of government to maintain his power -- you were siding with the devil. If you were with him, well, you really did side with the devil.
Be careful of Tom DeLay's forked tongue -- it spits hypocrisies as easily as it hisses lies.
