| GOP Hypocrite of the Week: Dino Rossi A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL
Welcome back to the BuzzFlash.com GOP Hypocrite of the Week. Oh those Republicans are such wily little rascals. When they say every vote should be counted, they mean only the votes for their candidates. Those OTHER votes don't matter and are probably cast by ineligible, poor minority heathens. As we write this, the GOP controlled legislature in Texas is planning on holding hearings because three Republicans* who lost in November did not like losing, because it would be downright UnRepublican to let a Democrat win by a full vote count. And it's a full vote count that brings us to this week's BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite: the loser of the Washington State Governor's race, Dino Rossi. Mr. Rossi is challenging the winner, Democrat Christine (greg-whar) Gregoire, to hold the election over. Did we forget to mention that the Republican Secretary of State certified Gregoire as the next governor of Washington? As a columnist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer observed, "Republican leaders have to know their shifting positions for a new election plays like a klutzy ballerina with vertigo on a newly waxed floor." You see Gregoire won after a court-ordered hand recount, the kind Al Gore never got in Florida because of the Supreme Court coup. And because she won by only 129 votes, the Republicans are screaming bloody murder. George W. Bush was only ahead a couple of hundred votes in Florida and falling behind fast when Antonin Scalia pulled the plug on a recount because it appeared almost certain Bush was going to lose Florida in 2000. And remember, Al Gore won the 2000 election by more than a half a million votes nationally. Yet, in Washington State, the GOP, no doubt prodded on by the White House, is threatening lawsuits and anything they can muster to keep Gregoire, the candidate certified by the GOP Secretary of State, from taking office. You see, the White House knows that when a Republican governor is in office, they can more easily "control" the voting in the state. Just like in Florida and Ohio. And, as we have learned from the Bush Cartel, once a Republican regime gets into office, they count the votes and control the media message. That's what they call, "rigging the system." So, Dino Rossi, you come from a long line of GOP electoral hypocrites. You are earning your Republican stripes by opposing the rule of law and demanding a revote until you win -- or rig the election. That's why we are honoring you as our BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week. You've earned it, even if you are a loser. Until next week, just remember our motto at BuzzFlash.com: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time. Catch up with you soon. A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL *As of yesterday, one of those three Republicans, State Rep. Jack Stick, said he ran out of time to build his case. We're just guessing here, but perhaps he didn't have a case. |
