GOP Hypocrite of the Week: Tom Cole A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL Listen to the GOPHOTW HERE. Welcome back to the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrite of the Week. Sometimes, getting the truth out of a Republican is like looking for gold in a pile of horse manure. After a local Oklahoma paper claimed that U.S. Republican Congressman Tom Cole told a group of GOP faithful that a vote against George W. Bush in 2004 was like voting for Hitler, Cole denied that he ever had said such a thing. No, Cole indignantly declared through a spokesperson, he didn't compare a vote for Kerry to a vote for Hitler. Cole wanted to set the record straight. What he really had said was that "if George Bush loses the election, Osama bin Laden wins the election." You don't have to be an Okie from Muskogee to get the picture that Tom Cole is not the sharpest tool in the shed. This is a guy who thinks that denying he said a vote for Kerry is a vote for Hitler, but admitting he said a vote for Kerry is a vote for Osama, is some sort of personal image upgrade. No, Tom, it just proves that you're a Karl Rove Stepford gutter-crawling sleaze bag. We're going to give it to you straight, Tom. Osama wins with every step the Bush Cartel takes to dismantle our democracy. He wins when Bush wages a politically-calculated self-serving campaign of fear, rather than a strategic, effective war on terror. Osama wins when we are manipulated by a forced diet of lies and deceptions, wrapped in a sea of official secrecy. Osama wins when gutless Republicans roam the America heartland arrogantly claiming a bloody mantle that defiles the memory of those who died on 9/11. A vote against Bush isn't a vote for Hitler or Osama, Mr. Tom. A vote against Bush is a patriotic vote for the restoration of our Constitution and our democracy. A vote against Bush in 2004 is a vote to restore honor, dignity and decency to the White House. But Tom Cole, BuzzFlash's GOP Hypocrite of the Week, wouldn't know that. He drinks the Republican sewer water and now can't get his mouth out of the gutter. Poor guy. He probably once was a respectable person. Probably. Until next week, just remember our motto at BuzzFlash.com: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time. Catch up with you soon. A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL |
