GOP Hypocrite of the Week: George W. Bush

A BUZZFLASH EDITORIAL

Listen to the GOPHOTW HERE.

Welcome to this week’s BuzzFlash.com Hypocrite of the Week.

You may have been wondering what took BuzzFlash so long. After all, we have already honored six deserving Republicans as hypocrites of the week, and not once did George W. Bush receive the award.

Well, we admit that the challenge of encapsulating the hypocrisy of Mr. Bush is just a bit overwhelming. It’s like trying to squeeze a 600-pound man through a key hole. We plead guilty: We just weren't up to the task of all that heavy lifting. The man pumps out more hypocrisy in a day than an elephant drops turd blossoms.

But, this week, we just couldn't wait any longer. When the chickenhawk-in-chief responsible for sending hundreds of young American men and women to their deaths -- and killing thousands of Iraqis -- blames the men and women in the Navy for a banner that his advance people conceived and had made, well, that's just as cowardly as it comes.

Of course, with Bush, it's really just as cowardly as it comes until tomorrow, then you can be sure he will surpass his craven inability to accept responsibility for anything at all. This guy has everyone else do his fighting for him. Put Bush in the room with a limbless veteran and you can be sure George would flee the room, crying out for Babs Bush to come and protect him from the mean man.

Bush is the spoiled rich kid who never had to pay the consequences for his reckless words and lifestyle. He attributes all his decisions to the Lord, but the last time we checked, the Lord was emphatically not taking any credit for anything this Texas yellow belly has done. It's easy to do all the wrong things and then blame it on God.

Or blame it on the soldiers. Or blame it on the Democrats. Or blame it on Bill Clinton. Blame, blame, blame, blame.

This is the administration that has abandoned all semblance of accepting personal responsibility, while touting a new era of personal responsibility. That, my friends, is the Grand Hypocrisy Party in a nut shell.

When the full wreckage that the Bush administration has wrought upon America, democracy, and the world is finally viewed through the lens of history, all Bush will have as his excuse is the explanation: "God made me do it."

But maybe it isn't God -- who, after all, is a beneficent being. Maybe it's the other guy, the one who’s the villain in Dante's "Inferno." Maybe he is the one who is whispering in Bush's ear. You know, the one with the long red tail and pointy ears.

No, we’re not talking about Cheney. But we’re sure they’re friends.

Truth is, there’s really no other explanation for George's betrayal of this great nation. Is there?

And until next week, just remember our BuzzFlash slogan: So many Republican hypocrites, so little time.

Catch up with you soon!
