WELCOME to Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute, a collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). We'll collect a week's worth here and then archive them. Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons.

"Mano a mano" -- not in a million years. Bush only talks tough from behind the pant leg of his daddy, a secret service agent, or the U.S. military I think Saddam is on to Georgie and it is the joke of the century. Tough talk is all he is -- a tough guy only when it's our kids he's sending off to war. Don't see him or his kids doing anything but "gettin' outta harm's way"! The guy is an impotent windbag and now the whole world knows it!

Someone in the DNC needs to tell Gephardt, following his atrocious public display sucking up to Bush in the Rose Garden yesterday, that Democrats believe in Free Speech and expressing our opinions, but when one is representing a constituency one must remember how that group feels on an issue. At this point any aspirations he may have had for the Presidency flew out the window. Democrats, in general, would like some real evidence to back up what we are being told by the Bush administration before committing our sons and daughters to a war of death and destruction.

"The AGWVA believes that [Rumsfeld] represents a clear and present danger to the lives of our military, our country, and the American people, and should be considered a very serious threat to the national security. It is for this reason that the AGWVA calls for his resignation and removal from office." For once in my life I believe we should take Bush's advice -- SUPPORT OUR VETERANS -- and join them in calling for the resignation of Rumsfeld! This doddering old man will tell you anything to attain his personal goals. How can he be trusted? Just in case you don't know, AGWVA stands for American Gulf War Veterans Association and they need our support.

When the Big Dog speaks, they listen! To say Bill Clinton is the epitome of what a President should be, would be an understatement. Here is a man who is intelligent, eloquent, articulate, and knowledgeable. He is a master at how to win friends and influence people. His grasp of a subject, any subject, is superior to all others. No one can equal his ability, and that my friends is why the Repugs don't like him -- because in their mediocre world they have no one who compares.

Have you been wondering lately "what planet are we on?" Assassination, preemptive strikes, war, evildoers, us and them, all gleefully accepted, so we're told, by the masses. Somehow, somewhere, we seem to have lost our moral values. My God, when approval of assassination is casually discussed with reporters during a press conference from the White House we have got to realize we have left Earth. Given the other insane plots coming from this White House, we may find Earth uninhabitable in the very near future and leaving may be the only viable alternative.

Junior asking anyone to get more "backbone" or "spine" is simply laughable. This is a man who never had "backbone"; who existed in his father's shadow, cursing and conniving and getting away with anything and everything because of his father's power. This is the spoiled brat who was tolerated because of "influence," a spineless illusion created by those who wish to build an empire. There is no substance, no stature, and certainly no integrity in Bush. He is dangerous because he is beginning to believe the myth that they created for him.

Can't help but hope that the GOP has cut their throat with the campaign of smear and scandal they waged against Senator Torricelli. I can't think of a better group to lose due to their own meanness. The good citizens of New Jersey have to be aware of what the Repuglican party has done and call them to task for this kind of dirty politics. I also hope the rest of the country wises up to the tactics the GOP uses to win in order to wipe out the peace and prosperity we enjoyed when the Democrats were calling the shots! Vote Democratic, get rid of the masters of mean nasty dirty politics, get rid of the GOP while there is still hope for America.

My God, deliver us from evil! The ditto head pundits are debating the pros of assassination on television as a viable method of eliminating those with whom we don't agree. This country that professes a belief in the rule of law is now supporting assassination. Once we start down the road of evildoing there will be no return. When the leaders of a country decide that the end justifies the means we are in the realm of insanity. When something is born of illegality it continues in illegality and rationalizes whatever action is deemed necessary to maintain the grasp of power. Where will it all stop? When will Americans wake up and pray -- deliver us from evil AMEN?

* * *

By and large Americans are a trusting group. They expect the leaders of their country to be honest and trustworthy. After all, these same leaders have been elected by Americans. Ohhh, that's right, Dumbya wasn't "elected"! Hmmmm! Americans would do well to remember how Dumbya stole the presidency with the help of the SCOTUS and the mainstream media. We should really consider what this group was willing to "overlook" in order to wrest democracy from the hands of the people. Cheating, bullying, and lying were all part of the effort to obtain the ultimate goal. Now tell me, do you really trust anything Dumbya tells you about 9-11 or Iraq?

Have parents not traveled to foreign countries to rescue their children? Have parents not done anything and everything in their power to keep their children safe? Have parents faced demons and more to insure the security of their children? Well then, I give you three lone Congressmen attempting to save our children. I wish to thank them for their efforts on behalf of all the parents of our children who will face the wrath of Dumbya's war. I think it inappropriate for anyone in this country to criticize the efforts of these brave men. It's time someone recognizes the reality before the body bags arrive back here at home.

* * *

Remember the scene in Hunt for Red October, you know the one, where the Russian sub commander, just before being hit by a torpedo fired by himself, is told, "You arrogant fool, you have killed us"? I wonder if this is how the GOP feels this AM after John Ashcroft's Justice Department released documents involving the Torricelli ethics case causing his resignation? Have they, in their zeal to smear Senator Torricelli, killed any hopes they had to gain his seat in the Senate? Has scandal mongering finally come home to roost for the Repugs? I certainly hope so, because they, who claim the moral high ground, practice the most vicious personal attacks and vile underhanded dirty politics as any I've ever seen. It would be real Justice if they have indeed, in their arrogance, "killed themselves"!

* * *

Has anyone given thought to the fact that under the Democrats you may have to pay taxes, but you will have a job and the means to pay those taxes, while under the Repugs the vast majority is jobless and the "bread" lines grow? The only "tax relief" under the Repugs is for those who can afford to pay taxes and have never missed a meal. It's time for this country to wake up and realize that while claiming the moral high ground, the Repuglican party is bankrupting America. VOTE DEMOCRATIC in November and return America to the people.

"I am ashamed to report that the Bush administration is getting ready to let our ever-hungry multinationals do the same thing. This time, however, it would all be legalized. If current legislation (Senate 149, the Export Administration Act) being urged by the White House passed, American executives would be encouraged to sell the fruits of their most advanced research to foreign nationals who may not wish us well," said William Safire in his NYT's column, "Selling Our Secrets." Mr. Safire: not to worry, we can always wage war at a later date -- after we've made the big bucks selling this technology -- and get it back. Don't believe me, just look at Iraq. We sent every biological and chemical disaster ever conceived by man to Saddam, but gee whiz, now we can preemptively attack him, have a big war, and get it all back -- plus all that Iraqi oil. So you see, it will be a boon for big business here at home and the Repugs can then claim the moral high ground.

Whenever I hear the Repugs tell us that the problems with the Florida primaries occurred in Democratic counties, I realize it is a lame attempt to "blame" the irregularities on the Democrats. Actually, Miami-Dade and, to some extent, Broward have many Cuban Americans -- remember, those are the people who were so angry with Janet Reno over Elian Gonzales! I submit, it very well may have been payback for returning a little boy to his father! It is also a dress rehearsal for November. Just to see what can be done to skew the results and lay the blame on the other party! Look for more "irregularities" to occur in the November election -- Repugs will do everything to guarantee their boy Jebbie a win.

* * *

If history is a guide, then democracy born of desire rather than fear will last longer and certainly be more viable. If you say no, then just take a look at the history of every democracy that exists today. Dumbya and the gang cannot scare the world and get away with it forever. Sooner or later there are those who will not tolerate the "empire" building that is being done by those in the GOP who are power hungry and money grubbing. Sooner or later, there will be those who say no to the tactics used by the thugs who are laughably calling themselves "compassionate conservatives."

* * *

If the White House Press Corps was smart, they would continue to ask an unanswered question until they get an answer! If Ari doesn't answer the question adequately for one reporter then the next should ask the same question, and the next, and the next until an answer is given or Ari leaves the podium. Ari, with his superior I know more than you attitude, is a pompous pug who needs to be collared, and there are more reporters than there are Aris. Get with the program guys and demand answers from this arrogant blowhard! Remember this White House needs the press as much as the press needs them and it's time you all started to act and report like the news people you are supposed to be!

* * *

Mr. Bush: "Fool me once, shame on you" -- you told America you had no forewarning of terrorist attacks in the United States; "Fool me, can't get fooled again," you now say, "We must use preemptive attacks on Iraq"! Why would you even think Americans would believe you regarding Iraq, when you lied about 9-11?

* * *

"Osama Dead or Alive," "Iraq or bust," a failed economy, unemployment rising, the Social Security raid, prescription drug costs up, environmental disaster, stock market plunge, civil rights gone, chaos and confusion -- all examples of mismanagement by inexperienced ditto heads with outdated theories. This administration has accomplished what no other group has been able to do to America -- Destruction! Osama could not have envisioned it in his wildest dreams. We are imploding from within thanks to Dumbya and the gang!
