“House Republicans intend to hold votes this summer and fall touching on abortion, guns, religion and other priority issues for social conservatives, part of an attempt to improve the party's prospects in the midterm elections. The ‘American Values Agenda’ also includes a proposed constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage — which already has failed in the Senate — a prohibition on human cloning and possibly votes on several popular tax cuts. ‘Radical courts have attempted to gut our religious freedom and redefine the value system on which America was built. We hope to restore some of those basic values through passing this legislative agenda and renewing our country's commitment to faith, freedom and life,’ Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill.”  “The value system on which America was built”????  According to whom?  The founding fathers of this great nation made sure there was a separation between church and state written into that “value system,” they made sure you couldn’t shove your values down my throat!  Frankly, I do object to your owning a gun of mass destruction, but otherwise I don’t give a damn if you don’t want to have an abortion, or if you don’t want to burn the flag, or if you want to practice a particular religion, just get your rotund behind out of my business and for God’s sake leave me alone!  Quit coming up with “amendments” that restrict my right to life, my liberty and the pursuit of my happiness!!!

The fact that openness and honesty in politics has been reduced to cleverly spun sound bites without substance is one of the greatest tragedies ever in American governance!!!  Where have all the statesmen gone?  The Repuglicans have managed to tear down that bridge to the 21st Century sound bite by sound bite, ridiculous single issue by ridiculous single issue!  It reminds me of a “sound bite” from long ago, “the further we go the behinder we get”!!!

“Legal Experts to Senate Committee: Bush "Signing Statements" Unconstitutional, Impeachable”!  And this is the guy who wants you to believe the NYT is disgraceful, HA!  Everything Bush has done since his disgraceful arrival in Washington, everywhere he’s turned, every time he opens his mouth, it’s been a pox on democracy and nothing but one big disgrace after the other!

Unless and until something is done about black-box voting machines, democracy is lost!!!  When the CEO (Wally O’Dell) of the second largest voting machine company promises to help “deliver the votes” for Bush, and the Director (W.H. Timken) of the company is a "Bush Pioneer," you have to know there’s monkey business afoot.  When you find out these black-box voting machines are vulnerable to high-tech hi-jinx, you have to know your vote has been hijacked!!

PAT ROBERTS (R), INTELLIGENCE CHAIRMAN: If another attack occurs because of this information going out…if that attack comes the people who have written these stories and the people who have made their decisions should look in the mirror. GEORGE W. BUSH:…The disclosure of this program is disgraceful. RICHARD CHENEY:…I think that is a disgrace. REP. PETER KING (R), NEW YORK: Disgraceful and illegal.”  A sorry orchestrated fascist attempt to stifle the press brought to you by those guys who have really brought “disgrace” down on America!  Think about it, Bush off on vacation, after being told “Osama determined to strike within the U.S.”!  Cheney scurrying off to “undisclosed locations,” Pat Roberts neglecting his responsibility to find out why, and Peter King just plain parroting whatever he’s told!!! And the fact these guys are now trying to cover-up, “the scale of the American monitoring, involving millions of records" which actually “places this disclosure in the realm of a fishing exercise rather than a legally authorized investigation." Therein lays the real disgrace and dishonor in America!!!

Talk about Texas “sidewinders,” Tom DeLay takes the cake!!!  Now, we hear he didn’t withdraw from the race after winning the primary, he just made himself ineligible, so’s to give another Repuglican a chance to win his district.  We hear he’s moved to Virginia, but his wife still resides in Texas, we also hear he doesn’t know where he’ll be, come November.  What else can a disgraced Repuglican rattlesnake do these days, besides slithering back and forth?

Flag burning, another non-issue issue brought to you by the radical Repuglicans to fill in time and space!  It is absolutely mind-boggling that they’re spending time on things that aren’t happening!!!  And we the American taxpayers are paying their salaries and providing raises for them to preen and prance over nothing! "MADISON: ... where is all of this flag burning happening? Usually laws or bills get introduced because there's a major, major problem. Look, we don't see Americans in the streets burning flags now. So this is nothing more than a political issue.” “LAURA FLANDERS: -- what gets me is we have Baghdad burning, the Gulf Coast sinking and they're talking about the flag … if we're going to talk about flag burning, what about that picture in today's paper of Bush signing the flag? Isn't that desecration?”
