It’s a sad day indeed, when the Attorney General of the United States has to skirt the laws with “legalese”to try and make a case! Seems to me most of Alberto Gonzales’legal interpretations can be “disputed”starting with giving George Bush “plenary powers”and “unitary executive authority,” right on down to negating the Geneva Conventions and rewriting the definitions of torture and abuse! The cold hard truth is they are paving the way for a dictatorship right here, and wrong for America!

It’s easy to spot a pile of horse manure when you see it, read it, and smell it!---“For Clintons, Delicate Dance of Married and Public Lives, By PATRICK HEALY”---The radical Repuglicans are doing their level best to denigrate, disparage, and heap downright scorn on Bill and Hillary Clinton! The radical wing in America knows Americans had some of the best years of our lives when the Clintons resided at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., they know the same cannot be said for the years spent under both of the Bush regimes, they can’t change the facts, so they are out and about trying to “reframe”and smear the Clinton years and the Clintons' private lives in hopes of changing perception! This same scandal mongering will not work, it will not win the war in Iraq, it will not restore our civil liberties, it will not stop spying on Americans, it will not find Osama, it will not restore our status in the world, it will not stop the secret prisons, or the torture and abuse! It only exposes the Repuglicans for what they are; liars, cheats, and thieves, and it reminds people that if they want a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, then we must get rid of the Repuglicans!

It’s about time for a little common sense and some logic---if the Bush administration wasn’t doing something they knew was wrong, if they weren’t “cherry picking”intelligence, if they really believed the “yellow-cake”story, if they really believed they waged a preemptive war based on sound intelligence, then why in hell were they so afraid of Joe Wilson’s op-ed column in the NYT’s? Why try and pour scorn on Joe Wilson and thus intimidate him? Why compromise the identity of a covert agent working on WMDs during a time of war? Why “declassify”information regarding Valerie Plame? Why “leak”information to the press? Why then did they lie about that, too? The only logical answer is; because the Bush administration knows the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, and they don’t want Americans to know!

As my grandmother used to say, “If the shoe fits, wear it”---"Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-N. C., first raised it in a recent fund-raising letter on behalf of the party’s Senatorial Campaign Committee. If Democrats regain Congress, see, they’ll act the way Republicans acted toward Bill Clinton, calling for 'endless investigations, congressional censure and maybe even impeachment of President Bush.'" Key words and the irony in this letter and special emphasis on, “they’ll act the way Republicans acted”! The major difference Ms. Dole failed to point out: This time around impeachment proceedings will be legitimate! George Bush lied, he took this nation to preemptive, unnecessary war, resulting in the deaths of over 2400 American soldiers and thousands of innocent Iraqis!

Intimidation comes in many different packages, and can strike in the strangest places! Repuglicans in Congress should know by now they’ve become their own worst enemy by giving the Bush administration the keys to all the closets that hold all the skeletons! Look out, Denny, for your office may be in for the next FBI raid!

Again, I repeat, Osama doesn’t have to lift a finger, George Bush is doing the job for him! If indeed Osama hates us because of “freedom and democracy,”then surely that “hatred”must be waning, since Bush has done everything possible to undermine both our freedom and our democracy! “The Bush administration’s steady garroting of American liberties –already strangling the right to a fair trial and protections against warrantless searches –is now tightening its choke hold around the First Amendment’s guarantee of a free press and respect for Congress as a co-equal branch of government.”

So glad to see someone else is also on to that smooth talking, forked tongue, Joe Klein! “Time columnist Joe Klein, a. k. a. 'Anonymous,' author of the novel Primary Colors, who’s grown adept at advancing GOP themes while affecting to deplore them.” There’s nothing worse than a columnist who smiles at you in your face while sticking a knife in your back, and if you know anything at all about Joe Klein, then you should know he’s very good at doing just that!

The ultimate responsibility for all the deaths in Iraq lies with those who lied and sent our soldiers into harm's way to fight an unnecessary, preemptive war! It lies with the fear and loathing psychological propaganda used to reinforce and give reason and motive for that fight! And it’s the very reason that, rather than preemptive war, vigilance and defense based on factual truth is the better solution!
