Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. May 11, 2006 * * * More proof the current administration is nothing more than an equivalent of organized crime---they know absolutely nothing about diplomacy and negotiation, but the Bush administration sure as hell has the bribery and/or intimidation techniques down pat. You have to know it’s a cold day in Washington hell when our former opponents during the long cold war find the need to lecture this current administrative cabal about democracy! * * * Now that would be the final nail in the “freedom and democracy” coffin! Jebbie as president, and I thought George was my worst nightmare. It seems no matter how bad things are they can always get worse! Talk about “entitlements,” the Bush family really believes they and they alone are entitled to America and all the booty they can beg, borrow, and steal! While Barb may think the clan is upper class American royalty, not a Bush in the bunch has the class it takes to wear that crown, besides royalty and entitlements stopped at the borders over 200 years ago! If the truth were to ever come out, and as has been proven by their actions, the whole lot of them are nothing more than ne’er do well scalawags whose sole purpose is to bleed America dry! * * * Given the current mood in the country, I just have to wonder if George is setting Jeb up for failure! How like a sociopath, always having to prove he’s the “better” man, no matter who is the opponent. Sibling rivalry and the desire to always be number one could very well be the motive behind this set-up! * * * Richard Cohen of the Washington Post writes about the emails he received after his very unflattering opinion column on Stephen Colbert; “When I guilelessly clicked on the name, I would get a bucket of raw, untreated and disease-laden verbal sewage right in the face.” RIGHT BACK AT YOU, RICHARD, EVERY TIME YOU’VE WRITTEN IN SUPPORT OF THE BUSH IRAQI WAR POLICIES WE ALL GOT “A BUCKET OF RAW, UNTREATED DISEASE-LADEN VERBAL SEWAGE” RIGHT IN OUR FACES! Had you been doing your job properly instead of sucking up to George Bush, maybe, just maybe, America would not have been in the mess we find ourselves today! * * * With an active imagination, sometimes it occurs to me, if there were just some way to turn their dirty deeds around on the Bush administration, we could see just how they would react to some of the same things they do to other people! * * * George Bush has denuded and rendered useless the CIA! It’s the result of his childish vengeful traits; when you can’t publicly get mad, then by all that’s unholy, get even! He was furious with the CIA because they wouldn’t all cave in to his wants, needs, and desire to “fix the intel and the facts around the policy” to invade Iraq! So he got even---by appointing Porter Goss and a “team of political enforcers” to seek out the “anti-Bush cabal” and get rid of them. “The ‘cabal’ presumably consisted of CIA officers and analysts who had correctly challenged White House certainty about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction.” And now because of this revenge seeking child in an adult male body, America’s intelligence capabilities have been damaged. It will take a long time to regain that which has been lost. * * * Living is better than dying in or out of prison is the logical answer to the Cunningham riddle! “... consider Duke Cunningham. What would it take to get him to clam up? Duke is 64 years old. He's had cancer. He was just sentenced to 8+ years in prison. That might well be a death sentence. Who's he protecting? And what would make him think he's better off keeping quiet than telling investigators what they want to know?” Knowing the people he’s dealing with and just how far their tentacles can reach and what they are capable of ordering up, Cunningham just might believe prison alive and silent is the better alternative! * * * If ever there was a question about exactly who is involved in the corruption and cronyism that is currently going on in Washington, all one has to do is take a long hard look at the K Street Project, the answers are all right there! Washington's K Street is "a canyon of nondescript office buildings a few blocks north of the White House that is to influence-peddling what Wall Street is to finance. ... 'The underlying theme was [to] place Republicans in key positions on K Street. Everybody taking part was a Republican and understood that that was the purpose of what we were doing,' says Rod Chandler, a retired congressman and lobbyist who has participated in the Santorum meetings. 'It's been a very successful effort.' ... K Street is becoming solidly Republican. The corporate lobbyists who once ran the show, loyal only to the parochial interests of their employer, are being replaced by party activists who are loyal first and foremost to the GOP. Through them, Republican leaders can now marshal armies of lobbyists, lawyers, and public relations experts--not to mention enormous amounts of money--to meet the party's goals." With a few more prominent Repuglican names added, that says it all! * * * |
