Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. May 2, 2006 * * * Incompetence breeds contempt! And what could be more contemptible than arming the Iraqi “insurgency”? Due to a total lack of common sense and the ever present underlying need for greed, the Bush administration overlooks the obvious in everything they do---“A crucial program to train 20,400 Iraqis to guard key oil and electricity infrastructure sites ended in failure last year, with only about half that number actually trained and millions of dollars worth of automatic weapons, armored cars, night-vision goggles, and other equipment unaccounted for, auditors reported to Congress yesterday.” And just where do you think that equipment went? It couldn’t all be attributed to fraudulent practices, although for the Bush administration blaming someone else for fraud would be the better alternative to incompetently arming the enemy. Who do you think benefited from automatic weapons, armored cars, and night-vision goggles? Aiding and abetting those who fight our troops is not exactly my idea of things “going well” in Iraq! * * * "Intelligence sources say Valerie Wilson was part of an operation three years ago tracking the proliferation of nuclear weapons materials into Iran. And the sources allege that when Mrs. Wilson's cover was blown the administration's ability to track Iran's nuclear ambitions was damaged as well." [see "Rove Rage"] And some still wonder why things are not going well???? * * * “Goss: Claims I Partied With Wilkes Are "Flatly Untrue," "Horribly Irresponsible"---my reaction; Uhh, sure and pigs fly in the middle of August! * * * I have come to the conclusion that mainstream corporate media reporters are ignoring Stephen Colbert’s performance at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner because, 1, they know he out did their boy Bush, and 2, he upstaged them! And yes, Jon Stewart’s “balls-alicious” review of Colbert’s performance was right on! * * * With all their chicks in a row, the Bush beat goes on and on. How’s this latest George Bush suck up hit you? Imagine that, 2 of ‘em, and the press comes out fawning over a scene from my latest nightmare which promises to be a 10 in the scariest videos ever produced. A couple of things are now certain, proven beyond a reasonable doubt, there is no “liberal” media, it’s a myth, and two George Bushes are more scary than one! * * * Birds of a feather most certainly flock together, and to find out Ahmed Chalabi is again involved with the Bush administration in this the latest build-up to a preemptive war should come as no surprise. This administration has to depend on all the usual suspects, because they are the ones who know in which closet the skeletons are buried and the Bush administration at this point cannot afford exposure, for exposure could very well spell crimes against humanity! So we see a return to using those who provide information for a fee, those whose loyalties are questionable, and those who are suspected double-agents. * * * As I read and hear all the negatives regarding the Democrats, and all the talk about there being no difference in the parties, I am struck with one thing in particular---at the very least the Democrats are willing to share some of the bounty with the people of these United States, while the Repuglicans want to take your tax money and spend it on themselves! The political situation we are faced with today, requires working on one problem at a time and the biggest problem America has is the Repuglicans! We must first get rid of them, get them out of the halls of government and then we can work on making the Democrats honest! A third party during a time of crisis only serves to divide and conquer, it is not an acute solution. * * * CNN has resurrected that infamous picture of Bush all dressed up in a flight suit, fully equipped with a cod-piece and a sock stuffed into his crotch provided by costuming for the production. After landing on an aircraft carrier off the coast of Ca. 3 long years ago, with what could be said a grin from ear to ear (believing he was putting one over on us all), he must have thought we were all imbeciles. Whenever I see that picture, both then and now, I can’t help but think, it takes more than a cod-piece and a sock to make a man, something we’ve so painfully had to learn since he was installed in office. * * * Will the release of those White House visitor logs reveal anything at all? Will the public finally be privy to how many times Abramoff visited 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., and just exactly who he saw while there? Keep in mind the controversy over George Bush’s National Guard records before you answer any questions regarding a “visitors log” or count on accurate information coming from the cabal in today’s White House! * * * Re: “Subject: Immigration and African Americans” (BuzzFlash Mailbag): While I agree there is much to be debated regarding this subject, and a solution will not be easy, I have to wonder why all the people who are affected by no benefits, no medical coverage, low wages, job loss, and downright unemployment are not coming together to conquer the real culprits, the ones that are really responsible for the current crisis. Big business said we want cheap labor, the politicians said OK, we’ll turn a blind eye to illegal immigration, we won’t fund border protection, we’ll give you cheap labor and in the process we can eliminate that worrisome middle-class who joins unions, we’ll break their backs! If we the people could come together and celebrate our diversity, if we could join together to find solutions to our problems, just think of the very powerful force we could generate. Don’t allow the politicians, these representatives of corporate power and greed to create chaos and confusion, don’t allow them to pit one against the other, don’t lose sight of the real cause and effect. We can come together, we can find a workable solution, and we can create a democracy of the people, by the people, and for the people. Together we are a mighty force and we can overcome! * * *
