Stephen Colbert, you are truly “my hero”!  It took a lot of guts to get up in front of that group of kiss-ups and tell the truth and you did it!  With the humor and candor that is severely lacking in mainstream corporate media these days, you did it!  I will be tuning into the “Colbert Report” every night (have been ever since its inauguration) and I certainly recommend every American do so, too!  If the “reporters” in Washington had just a hair of the same honesty you have, this country would not be in the mess we’re in today!

Stephen Colbert did what mainstream corporate media “reporters” are remiss to do, he showed the world what this so-called “president” is all about.  Don’t look for any “kudos” from mainstream corporate media though, for they know exactly what they refuse to do, they know exactly how negligent they are, and the sad part of it all is that most everyone else in America also knows exactly how mainstream corporate media has not served this country! Everyone else knows mainstream corporate media is aiding and abetting this would be dictator, everyone else recognizes that mainstream corporate media here in America has become the same as the German press pre-WWII!

“RODRIGUEZ: Because the Sensenbrenner Bill is still alive. And now we know that it was the Bush administration through the attorney general's office Alberto Gonzales who included the clauses for criminalizing immigrants and the rest of the American public and we want to make sure that the Sensenbrenner Bill does not come into play when the so-called conference, conciliatory meetings, take place between the house and the senate version.”  While playing Mr. Nice-regular-guy for the cameras and any uninformed voter out there, Bush shows his true colors sneakily behind the scenes with a wink-wink at his base and a criminalizing the immigrants using, gasp, the most notorious Hispanic in this country, Alberto Gonzales, to do it!  So much for amnesty, so much for honesty, this whole bunch of dirty rotten scoundrels needs to be Impeached!

Now you don’t believe they’ll try the same inane strategy again do you?  Are they attempting to use America’s need for oil as an aside and a back-drop to wage a preemptive war?  Are they going to tell us Iran is a dangerous threat to our well being and Iranian oil reserves will pay for the war once the “Mission” is “Accomplished”?  The Bush administration wouldn’t do it all over again, would they?

Molly Ivins was right on to call Bill Bennett a pompous self-righteous blowhard! “I listened to that pompous self-righteous blowhard Bill Bennett saying the other day that several reporters who won Pulitzers this year should be in jail.” Why is it that the Bill Bennetts of this world who arrogantly preach moral values always live in glass houses? CNN did not do themselves or the public a favor by hiring the midnight gambler as an analyst of political behaviors.

"The lessons of Katrina are important. ... Let's, first of all, pray there's no hurricanes, That would be, like, step one."  So says George Bush.  Now I’m no theologian, and I’d never eliminate the power of prayer, nor am I a meteorologist able to predict the weather, but I would be willing to bet that during the hurricane season of 2006 we will see some devastating hurricanes and I would hope the United States government would have more in their arsenal of emergency management than prayers!

Again, don’t be fooled---the Senate Report on the government’s Hurricane Katrina failures is too late to do anything about those failures, but soon enough to attempt to make everything look good before the November mid-terms.  Kinda, sorta, sounds like more of the same Repuglican monkeyshines they’ve been shoving down our throats for the past several years! The only way to make the corruption and the hijinks go away is to throw them out of Washington, the whole lot of them!  We could call it “America’s Contract on Repuglicans”!

Over the last several days I’ve listened to all the pro-Bush mainstream corporate media pundits attempt to explain away rising gas prices. But no matter how they spin it or try to rationalize it, the American public will rebel against whomsoever they know is responsible, and this time it’s the oil men who stole the presidency who bear responsibility!  And the message is, “Get outta our house and off our plane”!

Was the video debut of Zarqawi and command performances by Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri all within a week just a coincidence, or was it planned in an attempt to raise Bush’s falling poll numbers?  There’s nothing like the insidious threat of a few terrorists to pump up that fear factor and try to raise those crushing numbers.  It’s always worked before, so when the going gets tough why not use that same old tried and true strategy to dig your way out of a hole?  Only one problem, Americans are tired of the same old, same old George Bush and everything he represents.

Methinks that George Bush via the FBI is worried that those papers have more in them than J. Edgar’s Hoover’s choice of party dresses!  Couldn’t possibly be he’s worried about the choices Poppy’s made in his past, could it?  Legacies are funny things; in the end, it all comes out in the wash.  Reclassifying declassified information is at best the folly of a fool!  Bush would do better to allow a man who died to stay buried.
