And yet another high powered Repuglican bites the Abramoff corruption dust!  “Montana Sen. Conrad Burns has retained a lawyer who specializes in white collar crime and congressional investigations, his campaign confirmed Tuesday. Campaign spokesman Jason Klindt said that Burns has hired Ralph Caccia, a  Washington partner with the law firm Powell Goldstein. ... Abramoff told Vanity Fair magazine that his lobbying firm got ‘every appropriation we wanted’ from Burns' Senate committee, adding that his staff members were ‘as close as they could be’ with the Montana Republican's staff.”  And the Repuglicans said, “we intend to act ‘with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right.’ To restore accountability to Congress. To end its cycle of scandal and disgrace. To make us all proud again of the way free people govern themselves.”  So much for the “Republican Contract With America”, it didn’t last very long!

What is it with these Repuglicans?  Why are they always so obsessed with SEX?  Every time you turn around, the Repuglicans are involved with something, scandalous, religious, criminal, notorious, abusive and titillating, homo and hetero salaciously sexual!  Freud would have had a psychological heyday with this current bunch of fixated lawmakers!  Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for getting criminals off the streets, and I support that effort, but it seems whenever you see the word SEX there’s always a Repuglican involved in some way shape or form!

So little time, so many wars to wage, so the Bush administration has decided to lump them all into one big Nuclear WWIII!  And that, “folks”, is everything you can expect from a “regular guy”!  If you think gas prices are high now, or the environment is endangered, or medical costs are outta sight, or public education and Social Security is at risk, just wait, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet! If you believe the sword is mightier than diplomacy, then you’re about to get an up front, hands on lesson in nuclear weaponry!  No wonder Bush thinks Rummie’s doing a “heckofajob”!

“Why do they hate us?” The answer can be found at Guantanamo Bay, in the current administration, and because of the blatant practices of torture and abuse.  “Jumah al-Dossari, 33, claims he has been repeatedly beaten and suffered intense psychological abuse during his years of incarceration at the US prison camp in Cuba. He says he has watched US guards abuse the Koran, that he has been sexually humiliated and regularly kept in isolation. ‘They have violated us deep in our hearts, our dignity and our humanity ... This is what those who brag about civilisation, peace and the law do,’ he wrote”!

George Bush, the Repuglican Congress, and mainstream corporate media are doing everything they can to silence the internet, and for freedom and democracy to survive in these United States, we must see to it this attack doesn’t succeed! The consolidation of mainstream corporate media has resulted in “the only good news is scandal” and if you don’t want this same pall to permeate the entire country, if you want to know what’s really going on, we must do everything we can to save the internet!

“Fewer government regulations and more industry oversight” has been the Repuglican mantra for years and now that we’ve seen it in action, we can be sure it doesn’t work!  After the Sago Mine disaster, the public was assured that all the emergency air packs had been examined and found to be in working order, no culpability there---HA---now the sole survivor tells us some of the air packs mal-functioned and 12 men died!  In a country that boasts of being “the only super-power” left in the world, you’d think safety and security in all areas should begin at home!

The only guarantees we have resulting from the “shake-up at the White House is that even after you think you’ve hit bottom, you will find out things can get worse!  Shuffling the players, won’t do a thing to change this political game, its nothing more than a bluff!  Don’t look for improvements, as long as Bush stays perched in the White House!  As for Tony Snow’s appointment Bush put it all into perspective when he said, "My job is to make decisions and his job is to help explain those decisions to the press corps and the American people"!
