Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. April 25, 2006 "Bush and his team – faced with plunging poll numbers and cascading disclosures of wrongdoing – appear determined to punish and criminalize resistance to their regime. That is the significance of recent threats from the administration and its supporters who bandy about terms like sedition, espionage and treason when referring to investigative journalists, government whistle-blowers and even retired military generals – critics who have exposed Executive Branch illegalities, incompetence and deceptions." The "disclosures of wrongdoing" should be enough to show that those arrested should be Bush/Cheney and their supporters. The mess we find in America today is solely the result of this administration, their lies, their preplan to go to war, and their consistent, constant undermining of freedom and democracy! * * * The tone has most certainly changed in Washington, and now we know the Bush Wahoo Yahoos aren't up to doing the required job, as evidenced by Chinese President Hu's "official visit" to this nation's capital! Money doesn't buy class and it certainly doesn't guarantee diplomatic protocol. That, my friends, was keenly evident in this most recent fiasco, conducted by none other than George W. Bush! My grandmother used to say, "If you’re going to do something, then do it right, because if you don't then you've insulted yourself and you'd be better off not doing it at all!" As usual, the only thing Americans can depend on from Bush is one mistake after another. He may have apologized to President Hu, but Bush owes the American people an apology as well -- for being so out of touch and just plain stupid! * * * "This administration always excuses its obsession with secrecy by citing national security. If that's the larger issue, is the Anderson estate really a priority? Is the public really best served in the age of high-tech terrorism by having F.B.I. agents rifling through a dead reporter's files from Iran-contra, the Keating Five and Watergate?" IRAN-CONTRA, THE KEATING FIVE, and WATERGATE? What prominent figure was around who could have had his finger in all the above? What information might be contained in Mr. Jack Anderson's papers that the current administration does not want Joe Q. Public to know? I seem to remember George Bush shortly after arriving in Washington signed an executive order which allows him to keep the secrets of former presidents, now I wonder why he would do something like that? I wonder exactly who he's trying to protect. It couldn't possibly be Poppy, could it? I wonder what deep dark secrets from oh-so-long ago could have anything to do with national security in today's world? Face it America, we are being scammed yet again by the Bush family! |
