Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. April 6, 2006 * * * Sooner or later it was bound to happen---when diabolical minds get together they cannot possibly always agree. Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said he did not know what Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was talking about when she said last week that the United States had made thousands of "tactical errors" in handling the war in Iraq, a statement she later said was meant figuratively. It couldn’t happen to a more maniacal cabal. God, do we ever need some leadership in this country that knows what they’re doing! * * * One thing to consider if Tom DeLay becomes a lobbyist---the leverage it gives him to know all the secrets of those he’s attempting to influence. Getting him out of Congress will do little to change the way of governance in D.C. if all his shenanigans are allowed to rise to the next level! Anyone who has committed crimes, no matter party affiliation, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and put behind bars where bribes and blackmail do not influence the well being of the citizens of the United States of America. * * * Adding insult to injury to Jill Carroll’s horrendous ordeal, are those scandal mongers sitting in comfort here at home in the good ole U.S.of A.! They have willingly and eagerly attempted to smear her reputation without knowing what actually happened to Jill in Iraq! From the depths of their twisted minds they rushed to judgment without all the facts. It is more than a despicable act when over-stuffed, over-indulgent cowards use the mask of journalism cloaked in the safety of home to attack the patriotism of a woman who has been there, done that, and survived! My thanks to a real journalist, a true hero, Jill Carroll! * * * “This is incredible arrogance that sometimes hits these members of Congress, but especially Cynthia McKinney," according to the most arrogant, most audacious, most despicable former member of Congress, Tom DeLay himself in person! Nothing like a little money laundering, using federal agencies for personal benefit, breaking state laws, and a few by hook or crook shenanigans to assume the title of expert on arrogance by DeLay. His opinions are as useful as spit in the wind, and his kind of arrogance is unacceptable. * * * One of the first things I learned in nursing school was you never touch someone without consent, touching without approval is a tort, a civil wrongdoing, a wrongful act. “Grabbing” Congresswoman McKinney without her consent is a tort! The Capitol Hill Police should be about the business of apologizing to her! A whole lot of radical elements in our society have used this incident as an opportunity for a verbal personal attack on Congresswoman McKinney. The last few days have amounted to nothing more than a radical-wing smear campaign because Ms. McKinney had the courage from the very beginning to come out against Bush and this administration’s march on Iraq! Think about it, if you were doing something routine, something you do everyday, and you were thinking about the day ahead or perhaps talking on your cell phone, in a very busy place, someone grabs you from behind, what would be your first reaction? * * * Gasp, and gasp again---and just who is surprised to find out that George Bush himself gave Scooter Libby “specific permission” to release information from a “closely-guarded ‘National Intelligence Estimate’ on Iraq to a New York Times reporter in 2003”? One should never “misunderestimate” the underhanded tricks committed for an act of revenge by the master of deceit! * * * The resulting horrific reality, to find out a conspiracy theory is true, is so overwhelming that many will reject a factual analysis. And then those who created the horror are left to continue their maniacal march. History shows how long it took for people to finally realize that indeed Hitler was responsible for the Holocaust! Are we to repeat the same mistakes made not so long ago? * * *
