Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. March 16, 2006 * * * If anyone was wondering what the moron was planning in an attempt to regain his ratings in the polls, you need look no further---“An international diplomatic effort to force Iran to give up its nuclear ambitions must succeed "if confrontation is to be avoided," the White House said on Thursday in a new national security strategy.” And if past history in Iraq gives any clues, another preemption is in the hopper! “BOLTON: But President Bush has also been very clear, it is unacceptable for Iran to have nuclear weapons. So that's why he's also been clear, no option is off the table.” Look out, world, this fool is getting ready to go “nukeular”!!! * * * “A bold brave vision?” “Strong on protecting America?” “The best man for our safety and security?” “Prepared?” I think not---when our government is telling us to stash canned tuna and powdered milk under the bed, in case of a pandemic or a bio-weapons attack, it sounds more like a resigned “death wish” to me! * * * “The Day of Reckoning for the Current Occupant”? No sir, it’s way past time to get rid of the interloper! He has created nothing but grief and mourning for us all! Disguised as a man of faith, he began with stealing the Oval Office, and it was all downhill from there! And because they tied their wagons to a loser, the Repuglican Party is imploding from within---unless and until there are some statesmen left, brave enough to step up and say it’s over, the entire country will go down with George Bush! * * * A little late don’t ya think to be trying to figure out how to get out of the war in Iraq? Shouldn’t that have been part of the plan from the very beginning? And just exactly what do ya think a man heavily involved with a defense industry group will come up with to get us out of “his” money making deal? “HENRY: … And when Congress has a problem it can't solve, it's time to call in a blue-ribbon panel. And so it is with the Iraq study group of 10 former Washington insiders, a task force created on the eve of the third anniversary of the war to figure out what's next.” Err, Congress? Doesn’t George Bush bear some responsibility for this preemptive war in Iraq, or is this just another attempt, by Poppy and his friends, to cover Bush’s behind??? “JAMES BAKER, FMR. SECRETARY OF STATE: Our purpose is to undertake a bipartisan forward-looking assessment of the current and perspective situation on the ground in Iraq, its impact on the surrounding region, and its consequences for United States interests.” Uhh, United States interests, or The Bush and The Carlyle Group interests??? And no one was left to speak up for America! * * * Remember all the flack coming from the Repugs on “Filegate” when the Clintons were in the White House? Have a gander at what George Bush has accomplished with a little help from his friends!! “The Pentagon’s Virginia-based Counterintelligence Field Activity Office (CIFA) is one of the most sensitive domestic spying operations” we have yet to hear about. A Duke Cunningham associate in crime, “former CEO of MZM Inc. Mitchell Wade” was apparently involved in a “Total Information Awareness-like data-mining operation that looked at U.S. citizens' data. He pleaded guilty to several conspiracy and bribery charges a few weeks ago in connection with the Cunningham scandal.” A little-noticed piece of his history is his involvement with CIFA. And the Repuglicans are still trying to tell us they are just spying on foreigners! HA! “Keeping databases on citizens engaging in protected political activities? Data mining credit histories looking for terrorists? It looks like the place bad ideas go to stay alive, behind the curtain of secrecy. As Wade has proven, you can get away with a lot behind that curtain (for a while, anyway). I wonder what more is back there we haven't heard about.” * * * “U.S. forces flattened a house during a raid north of Baghdad early Wednesday, killing 11 people — mostly women and children, while insurgent attacks elsewhere left five dead, police and relatives said. The U.S. military acknowledged the raid and said it caught one insurgent … But the military said only four people were killed - a man, two women and a child. Political leaders, meanwhile, remained deadlocked on the composition of a new government on the eve of parliament's first session since the Dec. 15 elections. At 8 p.m., a driving ban came into effect in the capital that will last until 4 p.m. Thursday … Authorities in the Shiite holy city of Karbala … imposed their own six-day driving ban to protect pilgrims from a wave of sectarian killing. The U.S. command announced the deployment of a battalion of at least 700 soldiers to Iraq from their base in Kuwait to provide extra security in the coming days for the pilgrimages connected to the holiday of Ashura and the convening of parliament.” “Freedom”? “Democracy”? Doesn’t sound like it to me! How in God’s name can George Bush have the audacity to put a positive spin on this horror? Only a moron would say things are going well in Iraq! * * * “Bush Approval Falls to 33%, Congress Earns Rare Praise” Look out America, better grab that duct tape, plastic, canned tuna, and powdered milk, cause it looks like we may need it! * * * A little history on the Bushes, James Baker, the bin Ladens and the Carlyle group. “Moore further hints that a relationship between the Bush and bin Laden families was forged through their common involvement in the Carlyle Group, a Washington-based private equity firm heavily invested in the defense industry. President Bush's father, the first President Bush, served as a senior adviser and board member to the Carlyle Group. James Baker, secretary of state in the first Bush administration, has been a partner. The current President Bush was a board member of a Carlyle subsidiary in the 1990s but withdrew in 1994 when he became governor of Texas.” --- “James A. Baker also serves as Senior Counsel to the secretive Carlyle Group where The Guardian has reported his equity stake at an estimated $180 million US. The Carlyle Group has made hundreds of millions of dollars in the 'war on terror'.” And the war drum beat goes on and on! * * * |
