What president really needs “line item veto” or “veto” power when he has “signing statements” ready and waiting to issue!  Bush is doing whatever he wants whenever he wants.  This administration has confabulated the law in order to proceed with their “my way or the highway” decree of desire!

Thanks to the past few “conservative” presidents, whose leadership style is proudly fashioned after corporate CEOs, we Americans have learned some very important lessons!  Running the government like running a corporation has some interesting parallels that obviously cannot be overlooked, just as Ken Lay found out, “not knowing” what’s going on within the company can lead to bankruptcy and company failure, and ignorance is not a legitimate defense!  Then there’s that guiding principle that says “the buck stops here” at the desk of the CEO!  The CEO is responsible for all the happenings within the company, and must also answer for its failures in court before a jury of his peers!  Ahh, if only government’s malfeasance truly ended the same as corporate malpractice.

In listening to CSPAN over the weekend, a caller who identified himself as a “Republican” said, “after hearing several callers complain that CSPAN was becoming too liberal and they weren’t going to tune in anymore,” he “decided to call in and reveal that he had received an email from a Repuglican group that said for listeners to call in and complain that CSPAN programming was presenting a “liberal” bias.”  He also said, “this was an all out effort in hopes of tilting CSPAN towards more conservative points of view”!  It actually left me wondering if the caller was a Repuglican or a Democrat, but after hearing what happened at BuzzFlash, I do believe there was an all out effort by the radicals against anyone who dares to air or print the truth!  (By the way, this was on Saturday Morning!)

Whenever a Repuglican wants to denigrate something, no matter what, they pull out the “sex” card and play it for scandal appeal!  Seems they can’t get “sex” off their minds.  What is it about Repuglicans that they seem to think they are the only ones who have the right to engage in sex and everyone else’s sexual activity is nothing more than a scandal to be exploited for political purpose?  Of course there’s that rare Repuglican that practices abstinence as a matter of ideology, or perhaps due to a lack of partners, and maybe that’s the reason he can’t get “sex” off his mind!

So we hear the UAE donated one hundred million dollars to the victims of Hurricane Katrina!  Seeing New Orleans today, makes one wonder just exactly where did all that money go, and who actually benefited from it?  Do the victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans have their homes restored?  Are they even able to return to the city and what had been their homes?  Was it UAE money that bought those trailers sitting useless in Arkansas?  Did the Bushies really want New Orleans rebuilt? Did they really want to help the poor?  From the looks of the whole mess, the answer is no and no!  And the question becomes why?

It seems the only audience that could safely be invited for his speech in India is to be found at the zoo!  What’s that old song, “if we could Talk to the Animals”?  Seems appropriate for a Bush speech to me!  “If we conferred with our furry friends, man to animal, Think of all the things we could discuss, If we could walk with the animals, talk with the animals, Grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals, And they could squeak and squawk, and speak and talk to us” ... Nothing like a trip away from home to forget about your troubles and your cares, except when you have to take you, with you!  George Bush is George Bush’s troubles and the whole world knows it!  While his poll numbers here at home have dropped, I’d venture a guess if a poll were taken outside our borders, we’d really see how low they could go!
