Get a load of the George Bush version of “freedom and democracy”!  Will this be the future of American courts under Bush?  Looks as though Saddam Hussein’s trial is as “fair and balanced” as some mainstream corporate media news channels right here in the good old democratic U S of A!  “… the unorthodox procedure of allowing witnesses to testify without using their real names and with their faces and voices obscured … the witness names are given to defense lawyers but the information can’t be passed to anyone outside the tribunal to protect the witnesses from possible reprisals.  Though understandable for security reasons, these restrictions would seem to make effective cross-examination of the witnesses impossible and deny the defendants the traditional right to confront their accusers.  A secret witness could pretty much say whatever he or she wished, such as claiming to have seen some event. Defense lawyers – barred from mentioning the witness’ name outside the tribunal – would be powerless to investigate whether the witness was really there or not.”

One of the most ironic things about George Bush and the Repuglican Party---while strongly criticizing “entitlement” programs, Bush and the Repuglicans absolutely believe they are ENTITLED!!!

Now that he has all his ducks, aka Rice, Bolton, and Wolfowitz, in a row, and since it’s an election year and he can’t do zip with his “gut the poor” policies here at home (besides he’s already taken as much as he can squeeze out of poor Americans), Bush has now decided to tackle foreign aid!  With tongue in cheek, and bank account in mind, he plans to raid the independent US Agency for International Development--- Bush will find somewhere to have a “my way or the highway” success, he’ll definitely find someone to bully into submission!  When George Bush says “reform” you know damn well that means more for him and his base, you remember, those “have mores,” leaving nothing for those in need! The way he sees it, any program which does not give to the rich and take from the poor definitely needs “reforming”!

The Saddam Hussein trial could very well be a precursor of what we can expect from our courts here at home if George Bush is allowed to continue his maniacal march on world domination!  It’s a glimpse into George Bush’s version of the law and how to circumvent, what he has called, that “god damned piece of paper, The Constitution of the United States of America!

The Washington Post has long since lost credibility, and it accomplished that all on its own!  Liberalism and Dan Froomkin had nothing to do with it---Bob Woodward and achieving the status of being embedded or “in-bed” with the Bush White House had everything to do with it!!!  It’s a sad day indeed when the Washington Post becomes nothing more than a “trash-sheet” found at a local grocery store check out lane.

Straight from the mouth of the #1 neo-con Paul Wolfowitz---“If somebody could have given you a Lloyds of London guarantee that weapons of mass destruction would not possibly be used, one would have contemplated much more support for internal Iraqi opposition and not having the United States take on the job the way we did.” HMMM, (I ask this question with tongue in cheek) does that mean eliminating the threat of WMDs was not the main objective for invading Iraq?  Does that mean that what Bush really needed was an excuse to overthrow Hussein in order to avoid breaking “international law”?  And these guys have their fingers on the future of the world, God, what a scary scenario that conjures up!!!

The girls, Daryn Kagan and Candy Crowley at CNN, were all gaga over the fact that Bush opened the floor for questions after what was billed as a speech yesterday!  There’s one question, though, that was overlooked by the audience and by the “girls”---Just exactly who died and went to heaven and made you God, George Bush? There are a few journalists and reporters left at CNN brave enough to tell the American people the truth about what’s really going on in Bush’s world, and for this we cannot thank Christiane Amanpour enough!
