Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. November 28, 2005 * * * When all is said and done---will George Bush and his war on "terrah" be responsible for more deaths of innocents in Iraq than Saddam ever was? Will we find out that White Phosphorous and Napalm killed more innocent people than poison gas? And in the end when war is waged preemptively using such horrific weapons, how can you possibly claim that killing innocent people is unintentional? How do you discern the difference between "suicide car bombers" and "smart bombs" if you died as a result of either? Ah, you say, innocent people always die during a time of war---all the more reason I say that in this, the 21st Century, we should seek saner men than those responsible for waging war, we should seek out those who would search for peace in this fragile world where we all live. * * * "In a departure from previous statements, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said this week that the training of Iraqi soldiers had advanced so far that the current number of U.S. troops in the country probably would not be needed much longer." Boy, that was some fast training---one week the Iraqis aren't ready, the next week they are---how in God's name can these people get up there and say this kind of bulls@#t with a straight face and expect the American people to swallow it hook line and sinker? A more accurate statement would have been, we have begun an all out effort to try and save George Bush's sinking political behind! * * * The latest directive from the White House and current spin on Iraq---we'll stay the course, unless of course it interferes with George Bush's poll ratings and the 2006 elections! "President Bush is planning a major pullout of US troops from Iraq amid rising opposition to the war on Capitol Hill and across America. After a fortnight in which the political debate has rapidly moved from how to fight the war to how best to get out of Iraq, the White House is looking at reducing troop levels by at least 60,000 next year." We can see first hand, being "born again" does not guarantee a lifestyle change for some people---in the end George Bush is the same person he's always been, he is neither brave nor bold, he will do whatever it takes to save his own behind first and foremost, as he has done so many times before!!! * * * "Representative Jean Schmidt (R-OH) suggested Murtha was a 'coward' and speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-IL) said he had adopted a 'policy of cut-and-run.'" Hmm, how much "coward" and "cut-and-run" spin will we hear from Schmidt and Hastert after Bush gives this next, written for him, speech on Wednesday at the U.S. Naval Academy? "President Bush will give a major speech Wednesday at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., in which aides say he is expected to herald the improved readiness of Iraqi troops, which he has identified as the key condition for pulling out U.S. forces. The administration's pivot on the issue comes as the White House is seeking to relieve enormous pressure by war opponents." My how some things, they do change rapidly in a political sinking polls situation!!! * * * When will mainstream corporate media realize that most Americans are on to Repuglicans who attempt to scam the public??? To label Joe DiGenova an expert analyst, as has been done by so many anchors in mainstream media, is an affront to those of us who know DiGenova is nothing more than a political hack for the Bush administration, and not a very good one at that! Mainstream media news analysis has become nothing more than air time for a few major chuckles, especially when the so-called expert analysts are the same breed as DiGenova, Toensing, Fund, Coulter, and all the rest of the far-right-wing nuts. * * * "The flaws in the intelligence are plain enough in hindsight," Cheney said." How in God's name does one justify the deaths of untold thousands of innocent people and over 2100 American soldiers with the word "Flaws"? There is no shame, no remorse, and no honor in those who would attempt to excuse their guilt by trying to pass off manipulation and intentional disinformation as "flaws"! Dick Cheney's words and deeds are a direct insult and injury on every American! A majority of us certainly have the necessary intelligence to know that Dick Cheney, George Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, and the rest of this cabal of evil manipulated and distorted the intelligence in order to begin their pre-conceived, pre-planned march on world domination! While some believed never again, the rest of us recognized this entire regime for what it is---they are the modern day purveyors of Fascism in this the 21st Century! * * * Jean Schmidt has shown the next Representative to the Congress of the United States from Ohio how not to win re-election! She can thank her incompetence and vile words for ending a career hardly just begun! And the rest of the country along with Ohio will breathe a sigh of relief knowing smear and burn bullying tactics are no longer successful! * * * |
