It’s beginning to sound as though the Italian Government has taken a page right out of the Bush play book! Find one guy to blame it on and then deny, deny, deny! There’s more to the “Niger Forged Documents” and the “yellow-cake” statements than meets the eye, and some in the Bush administration just may be up to their ears in it all!

This past week has been one of highs and lows---the most commendable of the highs was the Democrats finally finding some backbone and closing down the Senate in order to get some action on the question of how the intelligence was manipulated by the Bush administration to wage a preemptive unnecessary war in Iraq! And of course watching the Repuglican elite scrambling about trying to justify and downright lying about the investigation that really never was, would have been humorous if it hadn’t involved such a profound and crucial issue for the country! (Alright, I confess, I did laugh when, investigated for insider trading, Frist so piously and vehemently accosted the Democrats for invoking Rule 21.) It’s also heartening to know that at least one official in this administration, Scooter Libby, has been indicted and will have to defend himself regarding false statements made during the Plame investigation. One of the lows involved the diversionary tactic by George Bush’s nomination of Alito for the Supreme Court---to think there’s a possibility that someone who represents the radical political and religious right in America, someone who will have dominion over the lives of the entire population of a nation could be approved and named to the highest court in the land is pretty damn scary. To realize that everything America stands for, can be annulled and that it’s a probability a theocratic society will undermine freedom and democracy for us all is more than a bit depressing. Another low was not having the pleasure of watching Karl Rove “frogmarched” out of the White House in handcuffs. I found solace, though, thanks to BuzzFlash, in knowing that I’m not alone!

AMERICA HAS A WUSS FOR A PRESIDENT!!! What happened at Howard University has been happening all over this country since George Bush stole the presidency! When the president of the United States is so paranoid he limits his domestic appearances to a pre-selected, invited only audience, and clears the area of peaceful protestors for miles around you have to know he’s a yellow, lily-livered, chickens*$t coward with a whole lot of shakin’ monkey business goin’ on! When American students can’t eat lunch in the Campus Cafeteria because of presidential security, when students are threatened by campus security guards and told “Secret Service rooftop snipers may open fire on you” if you don’t leave the area, you have to wonder what exactly have we become as a nation that this kind of affront has been allowed to become Bush business as usual, without so much as a how do you do! Bold and brave, I don’t think so---cowardly bully would be more apt!

“WOLF BLITZER, CNN ANCHOR: ... Was Saddam Hussein willing to leave Iraq on the eve of the U.S.- led invasion?” I swear, another Blitzer blundering attempt to “make the news”! I remember way back in 2003 when the major news channels chose to ignore this story, a time when Saddam in fact did offer to leave Iraq before the war! His offer was categorically ignored and denied by the Bush administration. This isn’t news, it’s a revelation of the heinous failure on the part of Mainstream corporate media for not reporting the facts in a timely manner! The horrific action that resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent Iraqis and a daily increasing number of more than 2000 American soldiers may have been avoided if not for the negligence of a media now playing catch up and a revengeful greedy bullying Bush and his entire chicken-hawk administration whose only desire was “shock and awe”!

God forbid the United States Senate and the Bush administration considers messing with the pocket change of the very rich in America! Instead they’ll pass laws that limit health care for the elderly, the poor, and the disabled! They’ll cut Medicaid benefits rather than raise taxes. It seems the law makers, the group sitting in Washington and the White House today (the ones whose poll ratings have dropped to zip), have developed an attitude, if the hurricanes can’t get ‘em, then illness and disease can! That which cannot be paid for by the very rich in America, will be paid for by the poor with their lives! And this Repuglican-dominated American government will tell you, with a smile and ever so reverent, that’s the way Jesus would do it!

The “joke” is on the American people! In essence what you have under HMO’s is the most expensive form of socialized medicine in the entire world! Americans have been psychologically lulled into thinking they have a choice! Think about it, they claim you have a choice, but then your choice is limited to the HMO’s list of “preferred” physicians and hospitals. And what do you do when your Doctor isn’t on the list and the HMO won’t pay for the Doctor you’ve been seeing---you find a new Doc, one whose name appears on the HMO’s list of “preferred” physicians! What do you do when your HMO only practices in a hospital across town, you drive the extra miles! Your choices are limited to an HMO list, and you are paying dearly for that kind of coverage! The public’s been had by a profit driven industry---health care as we know it today here in these United States is just a Socialized Big Business Corporate bottom line!
