Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. October 18, 2005 The only good news, in an otherwise more dangerous world, is courtesy of a recently released Pew Research Center Poll, "President George W. Bush's poll numbers are going from bad to worse. His job approval rating has fallen to another new low, as has public satisfaction with national conditions, which now stands at just 29%. And for the first time since taking office in 2001, a plurality of Americans believe that George W. Bush will be seen as an unsuccessful president." * * * "Judy, Judy, Judy," don't you know by now America considers you a loser? Your more than 15 minutes of fame have come and gone. In the end, you betrayed your profession, your paper, your readers, and all those who trusted in you. Your fantasies have been revealed, you have fallen from grace, your reputation has been besmirched, no one wants to work with you, and "frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." Your "stories" gave rise to the death and destruction caused by the truly unnecessary war that you promoted! * * * Hmm: "9-11, the worst attack ever on American soil," "Saddam sought yellow-cake in Niger," "Mushroom clouds," "A preemptive war in Iraq," "Saddam had no connection to Al-Qaeda," "Iraq is a quagmire," "More American soldiers are dying in Iraq everyday," "Osama still at large," "Over a thousand dead on the Gulf Coast as a result of FEMA botching the response to Katrina," "the response to Katrina was abysmal," and "the world is a more dangerous place"! I suppose for Poppy, where George is concerned, some things never change! * * * If you can't win with the vote, then rig the voting! The Bush standard of voting in a "democracy" appears to have spilled over into Iraq! Did anyone really expect anything different from these guys? They will do anything to make it appear as though they're winning? Did anyone really expect anything different from this Repuglican, "the end justifies the means" administration that truly believes THEY ARE THE LAW? |
