George Bush’s, “Gulf Coast Opportunity Zone” should read, If the Hurricane Didn’t Get ‘Em, There’s Still a Chance We Can! And here are just a few possibilities to accomplish that goal---Effectively waive most FMCSA safety regulations. The result is a “waiver of qualifications for drivers, safety requirements for carrier parts and accessories, hours of service requirements for drivers, inspection, repair and maintenance standards for vehicles, requirements for the transportation of hazardous materials, as well as employee safety and health standards.” Then of course we can waive the minimum wage law by suspending the Davis-Bacon Act, and get ‘em where it hurts--in the pocketbook. And if those two don’t get ‘em, the EPA has opted out to waive the fuel refinement and emissions standards. Keep in mind it also bears the Repuglican fruit of future things to come---“The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, has unveiled a vast plan for using the reconstruction of the Gulf Coast as an excuse for broad rollbacks of federal protections, including environmental, worker health and safety, and minimum wage standards.” Now that’s what I, George Bush, call “killing a whole bunch of birds” with just a few waivers, hee, hee, hee!!!

Of course we should cut the budget at the CDC---that way the next time there’s a “killer” storm we won’t have to deal with those pesky Doctor people predicting the disease that comes from waiving EPA standards when there is toxic waste released into the atmosphere and the waterways. Boy howdy, Katrina has proven to be the biggest thing since “no more taxes” for the Repuglican party!

By the by, Katrina has also proven a boon for those in the Bush administration who don’t want you to know the rest of the world continues on----“The UN Human Rights Committee, scheduled to meet in Geneva next month, has written to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) calling for any available evidence of human rights abuses by the United States - particularly in the aftermath of its global war on terrorism. The 18-member committee, comprising of independent human rights experts, will take up ‘issues of specific concerns relating to the effect of measures taken (by the administration of President George W. Bush) in the fight against terrorism following the events of 11 September 2001’.virtually all human rights organizations, both domestic and international, have criticized the Act as seriously threatening civil liberties and freedoms in the United States. The USA Patriot Act was destined to foster abuses, as it weakened the system of checks and balances on law enforcement while setting aside due process safeguards under the law… The boast that the United States is now the world's only superpower has a grim undertow in the area of human rights; no one can tell Washington what to do or not do, no matter how egregious its cruelties," and the Bush beat goes on!!!

“Either President Bush just doesn’t get it, or he just doesn’t care, or he thinks the people he serves are all gullible morons.” But of course Bush believes we are morons---it’s a known fact that most people believe that others are the same as they themselves. Why in the world do you think he always explains what he says---it’s because he didn’t understand it and is still attempting to grasp the meaning and motive as has been given to him!!!

What’s a puppet to do if the one pulling the strings behind the scenes is locked up for a very long time? It is my sincere hope, and daily prayer that Karl Rove gets exactly what he deserves---my mantra has become OHM, get him behind bars where he can do no further harm. Of course it wouldn’t hurt a bit if someone, somewhere was willing to do the same smear and slime campaign on him that he’s done to so many others, it wouldn’t hurt to see what he sent out with malice and forethought he gets back three-fold and then some, it wouldn’t hurt a bit to see him frog-marched out of the White House in handcuffs! In fact it would be worthy of a HALLELUJAH shout X ten thousand plus!

We’re watching another episode of the Keystone Cops brought to you by Karl Rove, starring the most extensive cast of boobs ever gathered together for this modern day rendition complete with sound and in living color!

“Operation Offset” as usual with anything the Repuglicans propose, it sounds impressive, that is, until you start to look at the finer points and the small print. Exactly what is being “offset” hmm, I wonder----certainly not the war in Iraq, hell no that’s a money maker for all the friends of the Repuglican party, you must know the war profiteers are the “go to guys” for campaign contributions and they can’t be compromised. And forget about “raising taxes,” why would any self-serving Repuglican in Congress even consider cutting their profit margin? No folks, the offset will again be the middle class and the poor people in America if the Repuglican party has anything to do with it. This government is for the rich, by the richer, and of the richest!
