Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. September 8, 2005 Hmm, do ya think, the Bush administration wanted to “federalize” New Orleans because that’s the only way they could control the media?? You don’t suppose the intention was to ultimately intimidate reporters, and stop the truth, do ya? How in the world can George Bush stand before the nation in the AstroDome and proclaim “Mission Accomplished” if America sees the truth of it all? How can Karl produce another pseudo accomplishment, a “Wag the Dog” if you will, when “reporters” aren’t “in bed” with the administration? How can the DOD’s Office of Disinformation control “reports” to the public if the media is free to roam around the Gulf Coast reporting what’s really happening in Katrina’s aftermath? For once in this past 5 years, we’ve seen the incompetence of the Bush administration, up close and “personal,” we’ve been witness to the utter lack of concern for the innocent people who have had to endure the mistakes made by this so-called leadership who are poaching high offices in Washington when they aren’t vacationing down on the ranch! And it’s been horrifying but finally it has been the truth! * * * It’s become quite a pastime watching Scott McClellan and all those whose job it is to turn “cake” into bread for the Bush family! It must be hell trying to figure out how to make a mole hill out of a mountain on a daily basis. It takes either colossal stamina or just plain stupidity to attempt to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear! Callous, divorced from reality, stupid remarks by Barbara Bush regarding the “sort of scary” “underprivileged” have now become “personal observations” thanks to the equally stupid explanation given by Scott McClellan. * * * Can you really trust the man who invaded Iraq based on “fixed facts” to honestly investigate “what went right and what went wrong” and “get to the bottom of this” catastrophe in New Orleans? This is another ploy playing to his base so he can cover up everything that “went wrong”! * * * Given the number of “mistakes” and “miscalculations,” it makes one wonder if the tragedy in New Orleans was intentional rather than incompetence. It makes one wonder if this whole mess is going according to someone’s diabolical plan. The fact that so many errors were made by so many people at the Federal level is incomprehensible, unless of course events have gone according to a heretofore unknown to us plan. One thing they didn’t count on was Governor Blanco’s and Mayor Nagin’s refusal to cave in to the Bush administration’s demands to allow the Bushies to “federalize” New Orleans!!! * * * After witnessing what the federal government is really capable of doing way down there in New Orleans, once Bush found himself between a political rock and a hard place, one can only wish there had been a competent president in charge in the first place! Just think of what could have been prevented if say Bill Clinton or Al Gore or even John Kerry had been sitting in the Oval Office, I repeat in the Oval Office and not off vacationing and seeking pre-planned photo-ops with selected audiences only. Just think, Osama bin Laden may even have been behind bars awaiting trial for his crimes, instead of free to plan diabolical attacks for our future. Iraq would probably still be under the thumb of one Saddam Hussein, but there may have been thousands of innocent Iraqis still alive, a cold war would still be in place, but more than 1850+ American soldiers would not be in their graves today. Ahh, yes, I do fanaticize, but the world would certainly be a safer place if only George Bush had been left in Texas! * * * Jon Stewart had a good one on The Daily Show last night--- I paraphrase, but the gist of it all was, “the only people who don’t want to play the blame game are the ones who are to blame”!!! And that, my friends, is the only reason George Bush and his lemmings are out and about with today’s “talking points” regarding the “blame game”! * * *
