Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. September 7, 2005 Having witnessed the incompetence of the Bush administration's response to Hurricane Katrina, are we to come to the same conclusions as Osama bin Laden? Are we to realize that Osama doesn't have to do anything but sit back and watch, because George Bush is terrorizing America in ways that bin Laden has not even dreamed up? Is Osama winning George Bush's war? One can only wonder where and when will it all stop? * * * If America is to regain an iota of safety and security it should start with the resignations of George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the entire Bush administration! It would benefit this country if a few of the power hungry members of Congress, who believe their pocketbooks are more important than the safety and well being of American citizens, would also pen a "regret to inform you" letter of resignation! If America is ever going to be safe, if we are ever going to regain confidence, this whole cabal has got to GO! * * * "GEORGE W. BUSH, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: What I intend to do is lead a investigation to find out what went right and what went wrong." Do you really believe the guy who "fixed the facts" to preemptively go to war in Iraq is going to honestly investigate "what went right and what went wrong" in the government's response to Hurricane Katrina? It sounds to me like another opportunity to "fix the facts" and blame someone else! * * * One wonders, will the facts be "fixed" regarding the numbers of dead resulting from Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath? Do they dare release the truth to the American people? The Bush administration, the federal government and its agencies, have failed in their duty to protect the citizens of this country. They have failed miserably and thousands of innocent Americans now lay dead in their homes, and in the streets of their cities. Families have been displaced, property has been ravaged, and all the while the president of the United States was on vacation ... again! Fun and games stopped only when it became necessary to proceed with a political blame game to try and save his political neck! Negligence resulting in death is a crime, and the negligence committed by the Bushies should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! |
