Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. August 29, 2005 George Bush said Abu Ghraib was the result of a "few" grunts in the military. Not according to Maj. Gen. Janis Karpinski! It just goes to show the world how much he really cares about American soldiers! When he's willing to sacrifice those lowest on the military totem pole to save his own neck, you have to know he doesn't give a tinkers damn about the rest of our sons and daughters sent to fight his unnecessary war! Bush abolished any and all "rules of war," he obliterated the Geneva Conventions, he preemptively invaded a country on "fixed facts," he brought "shock and awe" to thousands of innocent people, and he will do "whatever it takes" to further his diabolical plan. So, what's a few American grunts along the way? For those who need a prayer, it has become, GOD HELP US ALL, thanks to that "regular guy" George! * * * It’s amazing just how many "crazies" there are in these United States! Creating a "Christian" state and "seceding from the union if necessary" is about the most ridiculous idea to come out of this bunch of activist religious extremists yet. It's interesting what democracy can do for those who believe they have the only answer -- it can pit family against family, brother against brother, Christian against Christian! Hmm, I've heard this somewhere before. I remember now. It's something from the history books, oh, from about 1860 to 1865. It was called The Civil War! And, obviously, it is still being fought by some. Evidently, the lessons learned the first time around have been forgotten. * * * "'We demand an end to terrorism in every form because we know that progress depends on ending terror,' Bush added in his weekly radio address." Err, duh. Obviously, George Bush thinks he's issued a very profound statement in his demand to the terrorists. What he doesn't realize is that terrorists all over the world are laughing at him! In his ignorance, and out of blatant stupidity, Bush has managed to expand the cause of terrorism world wide. He's created a newer more intense motive for Osama bin Laden's jihad. By invading Iraq, Bush has created an on-the-job training grounds for terrorism and he's provided an impetus to any and all extremists harboring ill will. In my humble opinion, I believe progress begins at home, and it would be progress to Impeach George Bush and get someone in the Oval Office who actually knows what to do with this mess Bush has created!!! P.S. And if progress really depends on ending terror, it won't be done by Dick Cheney or any other madman in this administration! |
