Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute A collection of insightful ruminations, reflections, and rants on the events of the day (with the exception of the weekend). Come visit each weekday to see what's pushing Barbara's buttons. August 26 , 2005 How so many Americans can understand the horror of Nero fiddling while Rome burned, and yet cannot see the same horror in Bush vacationing while American soldiers are dying in Iraq, is beyond me! It is utter lunacy for an American president to be sitting out 5 weeks in an air conditioned Texas palace playing games and riding bicycles, and surrounded by a small army of secret service for protection, while our sons and daughters are fighting bombs and bullets and dying, surrounded by terrorists, in a hotter than hell desert thousands of miles from home! The incongruity is downright incomprehensible. * * * It seems there are more people than Wolf Blitzer at Time Warner who go about the business of "making the news"! Time magazine opted not to "go public" with Karl Rove’s conversations with Matt Cooper, because "it might have had some impact on the Bush-Kerry race for the White House last year. Time editors were concerned about becoming part of such an explosive story in an election year." Who woulda thunk it? The editors at Time wanted to see Bush safely in office before they let the public know that Rove, chief advisor to Bush, committed a crime by outing a CIA agent! * * * If I am to understand the Bible correctly, God was all powerful, and could have allowed Jesus to assassinate those who sought to crucify Him without missing a beat. However, Jesus, in His efforts to show the world that peace was more important than violence and that love was more important than hate, allowed His horrific death in an effort to set an example for all who came after! That's a slightly different interpretation than what some "preachers" seem to have in today’s world where worrying about whether oil exportation will stop is the primary concern when contemplating assassination. * * * One of the reasons Bush’s poll numbers are bottoming out is that the American people are finally coming to the conclusion that Bush blows hot air! "We care about our soldiers" is more HOT AIR! If he really cared about the soldiers in Iraq, they would not be driving ill equipped Humvees that don’t provide any more protection than a used tin can! A preemptive war of choice should never have been deploying American soldiers to war with the equipment you have! The Bush administration knew the Army was ill-equipped, they knew the Army was not prepared, and yet they sent America's soldiers anyway! Our loved ones have been used in whatever manner George Bush deems fitting. After all, in his pea-brain, the moron really believes that's what our sons and daughters volunteered to do! * * * Take it from those who know: "He showed pathological lying habits and was in denial when challenged on prejudices and biases. He would even deny saying something he just said 30 seconds ago. He was famous for that...Students who challenged and embarrassed Bush in class would then become the subject of a whispering campaign by him...It was innuendo and lies. So that's how I knew, behind his smile and his smirk, that he was a very insecure, cunning and vengeful guy. Tsurumi said." "Once a liar always a liar," "Once an instigator always an instigator." From lies to start a war in Iraq, right on down to smearing Joe Wilson and outing Valarie Plame, and with Cindy Sheehan in the cross hairs today, we can see George Bush hasn't changed one iota! In the end, it will all go back to George and Karl. Can you imagine the joy they must have felt when they first met, he and Karl Rove, to find each other? To find a like minded evil soul in this world must have been exhilarating. But it's a horror that has been unleashed on the entire country to include us all! |
