"Bush said he is aware of the anti-war sentiments of Cindy Sheehan and others who have joined her protest near the Bush ranch. … 'But,' he added, 'I think it's also important for me to go on with my life, to keep a balanced life.' ... 'On the other hand, I'm also mindful that I've got a life to live and will do so.'" It's too bad Casey Sheehan and over 1850+ American soldiers can no longer go on with their lives. Thanks to this moron, they no longer have a life to live or balance.

Like it or not, in America DEMOCRACY does not discriminate, and every citizen has the right to expect equal treatment under the law. The Declaration of Independence states, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." And if you are religiously inclined to believe "Creator" refers to God, then look to that Book that seemingly reveals everything to the religious among us, "In the Image of God did He fashion him." There are no caveats of exclusion. The Bible doesn't include any exceptions, there are no words that say, gays and lesbians need not apply! As citizens of the United States, as creations in the Image of God, everyone should expect they have the right to marry the partner they choose, whenever and wherever they choose.

Without the words, "hard work," "progress," "terrorists," "war," "ideology" and "nukeqular" George Bush couldn't manage the mumbled repetitions he gives that pose as speeches! And after the zillionth time we've heard it all, it begins to sound like hot air escaping from a deflated baboon, err, excuse me Freudian slip there, I really meant to say, balloon, you know that thing, that gas-filled bag used as a toy, that speech circle in cartoons, that when filled-with-lead completely unsuccessful thing!!!

I was appalled to read this in our local paper on Monday: "Tragedies aren't limited to battle--Why does the AJC spend so much space on individuals killed in battle? To put things in the proper prospective, it should also list on Page One in large bold type the daily casualties in the United States caused by bad drivers, murders, drownings, fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, party drunks, stupidity, etc. My deepest sympathy goes to Mary Ann MacCombie for her loss, but her son was doing his duty and serving his country. His life could have been ended by someone or something among those items listed." How terrible it is to try and demean the memory of those who have given their lives in defense of America. What a disservice it is to attempt to distract and detract the sacrifice by comparison. If this is an effort to show support for the troops, then it certainly doesn't succeed, it sounds like a callous, self-inflated superiority, that comes to us from those who are unable and/or incapable of feeling an iota of compassion! How sad for our troops, how sad for America.

Referring to a letter in yesterday's Mailbag: Subject: New 9/11 Revelations, a comment---Kinda makes one wonder if Bush and bin Laden are working together to advance their goals in the Middle-East!

It takes a while for honest trusting souls to recognize a "sociopath," but if they do they don't forget, because sociopaths leave a wide swath of destruction where ever they go. Many good people have felt the sting, many good people have been mowed down and covered over when the sociopath decides they're in his way. And to good people everywhere I say, look out, because the sociopath will not stop until he attains his personal goals, he will use you, abuse you, and throw you out before he buries you forever.

I know they're a bunch of lunkhead, I know they're a bunch of bullies, but shouting "WE DON'T CARE" at a grieving mother who lost her son in an unnecessary preemptive war, even for lunkhead and bullies crosses the line! This is without a doubt the lowest, the most despicable act undertaken yet by those who falsely claim the moral high road! The radical right-wing whackos have completely lost all sense of decency when they attack grief-stricken families by shouting "WE DON'T CARE."  Insanity has taken over the Repuglican party and its representatives from the leadership right on down!

When it comes to brains, Hillary wins by a landslide! The only things Pirro can claim in superiority are mean, nasty, obnoxious, and the inability to ad lib when she's lost her notes!  I wonder if anyone has given any thought to perhaps New Yorkers would enjoy having elected a Senator who made it into the White House, hmm, think of the benefits New York could glean from that grand accomplishment!
