In a sane world, after finding out that Ken Starr of all people is the one who advocated there is no lawyer-client privilege when the lawyer is employed by the same people as the client, i.e., the taxpayers of America, would be humorous. Given we are living in a Bush world, however, it's not surprising that Repuglicans are now advocating lawyer-client privilege to condone the White House's refusal to turn over Documents to the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding John G. Roberts while in government service. It is incomprehensible!! But then these are Repuglicans, and we know they will do anything to protect the moron and whoever it was that made this political dance possible.

Would not justice be served if only some legally savvy prosecutor would go after "payola" committed by government officials? If nominating John G. Roberts to serve on the Supreme Court is not some kind of political payola for participating in the Florida election debacle, then pigs certainly do fly! Pay-off for playing George Bush's tune is a "lifetime" membership in the highest Court in the land! One "sweet" deal if you can "swing" it! Stacking the court to your advantage is preemptive insurance against anyone who may want to "sing" the truth about you at some time in the future!!!

Oh, those Repuglicans, when all else fails and the truth comes to the fore, their best offense is to turn the victim into the perpetrator, that way it takes the heat off the real culprit!!! As I've listened to all the debate over Valerie Plame, I am struck with how lame this most recent attack on Joe Wilson and his wife has been! This particular attack runs the same vein as Rick Santorum's "societal" blame for child abuse within the Catholic Church. It's just a bunch of Repuglican hooey thrown out there to take the attention away from those who are really responsible! Pedophile priests abused children within the Church and their crimes were covered up by the hierarchy (the leadership) in the Catholic Church, which in turn allowed the abuse of even more children to continue. Karl Rove outed a covert CIA agent during a time of war, and the leadership in this government is attempting to cover it up. Are we going to allow Rove the freedom to continue his particular reign of horror, are we really going to allow him to continue to expose national secrets during a time of war to satisfy his own diabolical political desires?

Religious fundamentalism, wherever it's found, becomes radical when those whose fervor takes on the political agenda of forcing one's personal beliefs down other people's throats! When they believe their way is the only way, and when they believe they have a divine right bestowed by a "higher being" to force others to adhere to those same beliefs, then it becomes radical! In this global world, fundamentalism is found in many places, and it would serve us all well to remember that more people have been killed in the name of God than for any other reason invented by man! I hardly think the God I learned about would condone killing any of His creations!

When you finally see the names in print, as the Congress gears up to change the presidential line of succession, that's when you get really scared, and realize this country's fate is in the hands of a whole bunch of nincompoops! That's when you start to wonder, how in God's name did we get into this governmental quagmire created by these boobs? That's when the most important question of all becomes: Just how the hell do we get ourselves out of this mess? An historical first, and certainly the best solution, would be to IMPEACH the whole sorry lot of them in one fell swoop, prosecute the criminals, and send the rest into obscurity where they belong!! And as an afterthought, take a few of those crazies who call themselves mainstream media along for the same up-the-river ride!

It seems a revival of McCarthyism is being advocated by none other than opinion columnist Thomas Friedman and blow hard FOX TV host Bill O'Reilly! We may have expected the promotion of a "blacklist" by Bill O'Reilly, but Tom Friedman advocating a government "list" of those who would exercise their right to speak freely, which Mr. Friedman himself has done on so many occasions, who woulda thunk it? Did we not learn in the ‘50s what "lists" of this nature could do to people, did we not learn then that the right to speak freely, and to dissent, was one of the most precious rights afforded those of us who really do believe in Democracy? Mr. Friedman, you, who claim to be a journalist of all people, should be about the business of protecting those rights, after all there are those of us who do not agree with most of what you write, but we support your right to opine!! And a great big PS to you sir---I'd much rather listen to Air America any day than read your column, because the "attention" you've now given to those who verbalized an opinion has created an atmosphere for the more radical among us, say the likes of Bill O'Reilly, to take it a step further and advocate for putting Air America commentators in "chains," simply because they chose to exercise their right to freely opine an opinion! Couldn't that be construed as an attempt to incite violence?
